We present the design, fabrication and characterization of high-\emph{Q} (\emph{Q}=36,000) polymeric photonic crystal nanobeam cavities made of two polymers that have an ultra-low index contrast (ratio=1.15) and observed thermo-optical bistability at hundred microwatt power level. Due to the extended evanescent field and small mode volumes, polymeric nanobeam cavities are ideal platform for ultra-sensitive biochemical sensing. Simulation and experimental observation of tunable photonic nanojet and photonic hook upon asymmetric illumination of a mesoscale cylinder with mask

In this letter, we report on numerical study, fabrication and experimental observations of tunable photonic nanojet and photonic hook. Here, the curved photonic nanojets (photonic hooks) are generated by single mesoscale microcylinder that we fabricated from polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS), upon its boundary illumination and adjustable area at an incident wavelength of λ = 405 nm. Hybrid Metasurfaces for Simultaneous Focusing and Filtering

This work presents the design and fabrication of simple, polymeric, structure-based optical filters that simultaneously focus light. These filters represent a novel design at the boundary between diffractive optics and metasurfaces that may provide significant advantages for both digital and hyperspectral imaging. The fabrication process for the proposed filters resembles 3D printing, and is based on direct laser writing of a polymeric material using two-photon lithography. Evidence of near-infrared partial photonic bandgap in polymeric rod-connected diamond structures

We present the simulation, fabrication, and optical characterization of low-index polymeric rod-connected diamond (RCD) structures. Such complex three-dimensional photonic crystal structures are created via direct laser writing by two-photon polymerization. To our knowledge, this is the first measurement at near-infrared wavelengths, showing partial photonic bandgaps for this structure. Vertically coupled polymer microracetrack resonators for Label-Free Biochemical sensors

We report on the efficient design and fabrication of polymeric microracetrack optical resonators for label-free biosensing purposes. Vertically-coupled microresonators immersed in deionised water display high Q-factors (>35000) and finesses up to 25. A surface sensing experiment performed with these microresonators using 5-TAMRA cadaverine as a test molecule demonstrated both the high sensitivity and low detection limit of our device.
