Previously the authors proved subconvexity of Shintani's zeta function enumerating class numbers of binary cubic forms. Here we return to prove subconvexity of the Maass form twisted version.

Subconvexity in the inhomogeneous cubic Vinogradov system

When $\mathbf h\in \mathbb Z^3$, denote by $B(X;\mathbf h)$ the number of integral solutions to the system \[ \sum_{i=1}^6(x_i^j-y_i^j)=h_j\quad (1\le j\le 3), \] with $1\le x_i,y_i\le X$ $(1\le i\le 6)$. When $h_1\ne 0$ and appropriate local solubility conditions on $\mathbf h$ are met, we obtain an asymptotic formula for $B(X;\mathbf h)$, thereby establishing a subconvex local-global principle in the inhomogeneous cubic Vinogradov system. Subconvexity of Shintani's zeta function

Enumerating integral orbits in prehomogeneous vector spaces plays an important role in arithmetic statistics. We describe a method of proving subconvexity of the zeta function enumerating the integral orbits, illustrated by proving a subconvex estimate for the Shintani $ζ$ function enumerating class numbers of binary cubic forms.

A Twisted Motohashi Formula and Weyl-Subconvexity for $L$-functions of Weight Two Cusp Forms

We derive a Motohashi-type formula for the cubic moment of central values of $L$-functions of level $q$ cusp forms twisted by quadratic characters of conductor $q$, previously studied by Conrey and Iwaniec and Young. Corollaries of this formula include Weyl-subconvex bounds for $L$-functions of weight two cusp forms twisted by quadratic characters, and estimates towards the Ramanujan-Petersson conjecture for Fourier coefficients of weight 3/2 cusp forms.
