The no-boundary wave function of quantum gravity usually assigns only very small probability to long periods of inflation. This was a reason to doubt about the no-boundary wave function to explain the observational universe. We study the no-boundary proposal in the context of multi-field inflation to see whether the number of fields changes the situation. For a simple model, we find that indeed the no-boundary wave function can give higher probability for sufficient inflation, but the number of fields involved has to be very high.
For zero spatial curvature, cosmological phase space of Starobinsky and extended Starobinsky inflationary model show three apparent attractors; the fixed angle attractor in the large field limit, the final attractor representing reheating phase in the small field region, and the apparent attractor corresponding to the slow-roll condition connecting between the large-field and small-field region. To consider the total $e$-folding likelihood of the model, Remmen-Carroll conserved measure is constructed and normalized. Using the measure, the total e-folding number $N$ and its expectation value $\…
We investigate Natural Inflation with non-minimal coupling to gravity, characterized either by a quadratic or a periodic term, within the Warm Inflation paradigm during the slow roll stage, in both strong and weak dissipation limits, and show that, in the case of $T$-linearly dependent dissipative term, it can accommodate the spectral index $n_s$ and tensor-to-scalar ratio $r$ observables given by Planck 2018 constraints, albeit with a too small value of the e-folding number to solve the horizon problem, providing thus only a partial solution to Natural Inflation issues. Assuming a $T$-cubical…
In this work, we study inflation in a particular scalar-vector-tensor theory of gravitation without the $U(1)$ gauge symmetry. The model is constructed from the more general action introduced in Heisenberg et al. (Phys Rev D 98:024038, 2018) using certain specific choices for the Lagrangians and the coupling functions. Also, for this model we build the explicit form for the action, and from it, we derive the general equations: the energy-momentum tensor and the equations of motion, and using the flat FLRW background, we have analyzed if it's possible to obtain an inflationary regime with it. A…
We propose a new approach to constant-roll warm inflation as a generalization of constant-roll inflation. Based on the $β$-function formalism, it is shown that constant-roll warm inflation models with a natural end fall into universality classes defined by three different types of $β$-functions, under the assumption that radiation energy density is quasi-stable. Given that warm inflation is completely specified by the $β$-function and dissipation coefficient ratio, we investigate whether or not the inflation can physically be realized for enough number of e-foldings at the background level for…
The source of the universe inflation is electromagnetic fields obeying rational nonlinear electrodynamics proposed earlier. Within this model the singularities of the electric field at the center of charges, the Ricci scalar, the Ricci tensor squared and the Kretschmann scalar are absent. We consider the universe which is filled by stochastic magnetic fields. It is demonstrated that the inflation lasts approximately $2$ s with the reasonable e-folding number $N\approx 63$. The Inflation starts from de Sitter spacetime and after the universe inflation end it decelerates approaching the radiatio…
We reconstruct the potential of minimally coupling inflation model which produces small value of the tensor-scalar ratio. In these inflation models, tensor-scalar ratio is proportional to 1/N^2 scalar spectral index is in good agreement with recent cosmological observations, in which N is the e-folding number and p is a positive number. We also reconstruct f(R) gravity inflation from small tensor-tensor ratio.
We derive a Higgs inflationary model in the context of a complex geometrical scalar-tensor theory of gravity. In this model the Higgs inflaton scalar field has geometrical origin playing the role of the Weyl scalar field in the original non-riemannian background geometry. The energy scale enough to generate inflation from the Higgs energy scale is achieved due to the compatibility of the theory with its background complex Weyl-integrable geometry. We found that for a number of e-foldings $N=63$, a nearly scale invariant spectrum for the inflaton is obtained with an spectral index $n_s\simeq 0.…
We discuss how initial conditions for cosmological evolution can be defined in Loop Quantum Cosmology with massive scalar field and how the presence of the bounce influences the probability of inflation in this theory, compared with General Relativity. The main finding of the paper is existence of an attractor in the contracting phase of the universe, which results in special conditions at the bounce, quite independent on the measure of initial conditions in the remote past, and hence very specific duration of inflationary stage with the number of e-foldings about $140$.
