Taking into account the available accelerator and astrophysical constraints, the mass of the lightest neutral Higgs boson h in the minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model with universal soft supersymmetry-breaking masses (CMSSM) has been estimated to lie between 114 and ~ 130 GeV. Recent data from ATLAS and CMS hint that m_h ~ 125 GeV, though m_h ~ 119 GeV may still be a possibility. Here we study the consequences for the parameters of the CMSSM and direct dark matter detection if the Higgs hint is confirmed, focusing on the strips in the (m_1/2, m_0) planes for different tan beta and A_0 where the relic density of the lightest neutralino chi falls within the range of the cosmological cold dark matter density allowed by WMAP and other experiments. We find that if m_h ~ 125 GeV focus-point strips would be disfavoured, as would the low-tan beta stau-chi and stop -chi coannihilation strips, whereas the stau-chi coannihilation strip at large tan beta and A_0 > 0 would be favoured, together with its extension to a funnel where rapid annihilation via direct-channel H/A poles dominates. On the other hand, if m_h ~ 119 GeV more options would be open. We give parametrizations of WMAP strips with large tan beta and fixed A_0/m_0 > 0 that include portions compatible with m_h = 125 GeV, and present predictions for spin-independent elastic dark matter scattering along these strips. These are generally low for models compatible with m_h = 125 GeV, whereas the XENON100 experiment already excludes some portions of strips where m_h is smaller.
We discuss the observability of the lightest neutral Higgs boson in the constrained MSSM (CMSSM), with universal soft supersymmetry-breaking parameters, at hadron colliders such as the Tevatron and the LHC. We take account of the constraints on parameter space provided by LEP, the measured rate of b to s gamma decay, the cosmological relic density Omega h^2, and the recent measurement of g_mu - 2. We normalize products of the expected CMSSM Higgs production cross sections and decay branching ratios (sigma B)_CMSSM relative to those expected for a Standard Model Higgs boson of the same mass. In…
Flavour-violating couplings of Higgs boson with stop and scharm quarks could be very important as in addition to lifting the mass of the Higgs boson by a few GeV, it could also play a vital phenomenological role in reducing the Supersymmetry breaking scale significantly. In this work, we investigate effects of such flavour-violating couplings within the Constrained Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (CMSSM) framework in the context of LEP data, Higgs data at the LHC, precision observables and the relic density of the dark matter using Bayesian statistics. Our detailed analysis reveals that …
The apparent discovery of a Higgs boson with mass ~125 GeV has had a significant impact on the constrained minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model in which the scalar masses, gaugino masses and tri-linear A-terms are assumed to be universal at the GUT scale (the CMSSM). Much of the low-mass parameter space in the CMSSM has been excluded by supersymmetric particle searches at the LHC as well as by the Higgs mass measurement and the emergent signal for B_s to mu^+ mu^-. Here, we consider the impact of these recent LHC results on several variants of the CMSSM with a primary focus o…
We show that the baryon-dark matter coincidence problem is solved in the CMSSM. The baryons and dark matter are generated simultaneously through the late-time decay of non-topological solitons, Q-balls, which are formed after the Affleck-Dine baryogenesis. A certain relation between the universal scalar mass, $m_0$, and the universal gaugino mass, $M_{1/2}$, is required to solve the coincidence problem, marginally depending on the other CMSSM parameters, and the result is consistent with the observation of the 126-GeV Higgs boson.
Flavour-violating interactions of the stop-quarks are expected to provide an additional few GeV contributions to the Higgs-Boson mass, particularly when mix with scharm-quarks, thereby allowing reduced supersymmetry (SUSY) breaking scale compared to flavour-conserving constrained minimal supersymmetric Standard Model (CMSSM). Inspired by this, we analyse the interactions mentioned above in the context of CMSSM using the information entropy of the Higgs-Boson for a wider region of flavour-violating CMSSM parameter space $(m_0,m_{1/2},A_0,$ $\tanβ,sgn(μ),δ_{ct}^{ij})$, where $δ_{ct}^{ij}$ repres…
New NLO b->sgamma calculations have become available. We observe that at large tanbeta the dominant NLO term of the chargino amplitude, which is proportional to mu.tanbeta^2, changes the sign of this amplitude in a large region of the CMSSM parameter space, so that the preferred sign of the Higgs mixing parameter mu now agrees with the preferred sign of b-tau unification. We find that the b->sgamma rate does not constrain the CMSSM anymore, if the higher order contributions and its uncertainties from the incomplete calculations are taken into account. The Higgs boson mass in the CMSSM is found…
Measurements at low energies provide interesting indirect information about masses of particles that are (so far) too heavy to be produced directly. Motivated by recent progress in consistently and rigorously calculating electroweak precision observables and flavour related observables, we derive the preferred value for m_h in the Constrained Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (CMSSM), obtained from a fit taking into account electroweak precision data, flavour physics observables and the abundance of Cold Dark Matter. No restriction is imposed on m_h itself: the experimental bound from dire…
The minimal supergravity (mSUGRA or CMSSM) model is an oft-used framework for exhibiting the properties of neutralino (WIMP) cold dark matter (CDM). However, the recent evidence from Atlas and CMS on a light Higgs scalar with mass m_h\simeq 125 GeV highly constrains the superparticle mass spectrum, which in turn constrains the neutralino annihilation mechanisms in the early universe. We find that stau and stop co-annihilation mechanisms -- already highly stressed by the latest Atlas/CMS results on SUSY searches -- are nearly eliminated if indeed the light Higgs scalar has mass m_h\simeq 125 Ge…
The recent discovery of a 125 GeV Higgs-like resonance at LHC, coupled with the lack of evidence for weak scale supersymmetry (SUSY), have severely constrained SUSY models such as mSUGRA/CMSSM. As LHC probes deeper into SUSY model parameter space, the little hierarchy problem -- how to reconcile the Z and Higgs boson mass scale with the scale of SUSY breaking -- will become increasingly exacerbated unless a sparticle signal is found. We evaluate two different measures of fine-tuning in the mSUGRA/CMSSM model. The more stringent of these, Δ_{HS}, includes effects that arise from the high scale …
We examine the prospects of detecting the light Higgs h^0 of the Constrained MSSM at the Tevatron. To this end we explore the CMSSM parameter space with μ>0, using a Markov Chain Monte Carlo technique, and apply all relevant collider and cosmological constraints including their uncertainties, as well as those of the Standard Model parameters. Taking 50 GeV < m_{1/2}, m_0 < 4 TeV, |A_0| < 7 TeV and 2 < tan(beta) < 62 as flat priors and using the formalism of Bayesian statistics we find that the 68% posterior probability region for the h^0 mass lies between 115.4 GeV and 120.4 GeV. Otherwise, h^…
Supersymmetry has been often invoqued as the new physics that might reconcile the experimental muon magnetic anomaly, a_mu, with the theoretical prediction (basing the computation of the hadronic contribution on e^+ e^- data). However, in the context of the CMSSM, the required supersymmetric contributions (which grow with decreasing supersymmetric masses) are in potential tension with a possibly large Higgs mass (which requires large stop masses). In the limit of very large m_h supersymmetry gets decoupled, and the CMSSM must show the same discrepancy as the SM with a_mu . But it is much less …
The recent discovery of a Higgs-like boson at the LHC with a mass of 126 GeV has revived the interest in supersymmetric models, which predicted a Higgs boson mass below 130 GeV long before its discovery. We compare systematically the allowed parameter space in the constrained Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (CMSSM) and the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Model (NMSSM) by minimizing the chi^2 function with respect to all known constraints from accelerators and cosmology using GUT scale parameters. For the CMSSM the Higgs boson mass at tree level is below the Z^0 boson mass and large radiat…
We study the implications of the inverse seesaw mechanism (ISS) on the sparticle spectrum in the Constrained Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (CMSSM) and Non-Universal Higgs Model (NUHM2). Employing the maximal value of the Dirac Yukawa coupling involving the up type Higgs doublet provides a 2-3 GeV enhancement of the lightest CP-even Higgs boson mass. This effect permits one to have lighter colored sparticles in the CMSSM and NUHM2 scenarios with LSP neutralino, which can be tested at LHC14. We present a variety of LHC testable benchmark points with the desired LSP neutralino dark matter…
We estimate the bounds on Higgs and sparticle masses and discuss their correlations in the constrained minimal supersymmetric standard model (CMSSM). In our analysis we have applied the present constraints from collider and low energy experiments, as well as the experimental bound on cold dark matter from WMAP. For a given lightest Higgs boson mass, which is expected to be measured with good precision at the LHC, we find important correlations between the Higgs and sparticle masses which allows one to delineate the MSSM model parameters and particle spectra. We have also demonstrated an import…
We present global fits of the constrained Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (cMSSM) and the Non-Universal Higgs Model (NUHM), including the most recent CMS constraint on the Higgs boson mass, 5.8/fb integrated luminosity null Supersymmetry searches by ATLAS, the new LHCb measurement of the Bs to mu+mu- branching ratio and the 7-year WMAP dark matter relic abundance determination. We include the latest dark matter constraints from the XENON100 experiment, marginalising over astrophysical and particle physics uncertainties. We present Bayesian posterior and profile likelihood maps of the hig…
In order to accommodate the observed Higgs boson mass in the CMSSM, the stops must either be very heavy or the mixing in the stop sector must be very large. Lower stop masses, possibly more accessible at the LHC, still give the correct Higgs mass only if the trilinear stop mixing parameter $|A_t|$ is in the multi-TeV range. Recently it has been shown that such large stop mixing leads to an unstable electroweak vacuum which spontaneously breaks charge or colour. In this work we therefore go beyond the CMSSM and investigate the effects of including baryon number violating operators $λ'' \bar{\bf…
We study phenomenological implications of the ATLAS and CMS hint of a $125\pm 1$ GeV Higgs boson for the singlet, and singlet plus doublet non-supersymmetric dark matter models, and for the phenomenology of the CMSSM. We show that in scalar dark matter models the vacuum stability bound on Higgs boson mass is lower than in the standard model and the 125 GeV Higgs boson is consistent with the models being valid up the GUT or Planck scale. We perform a detailed study of the full CMSSM parameter space keeping the Higgs boson mass fixed to $125\pm 1$ GeV, and study in detail the freeze-out processe…
We study the phenomenology of the CMSSM/mSUGRA with non-thermal neutralino dark matter. Besides the standard parameters of the CMSSM we include the reheating temperature as an extra parameter. Imposing radiative electroweak symmetry breaking with a Higgs mass around 125 GeV and no dark matter overproduction, we contrast the scenario with different experimental bounds from colliders (LEP, LHC), cosmic microwave background (Planck), direct (LUX, XENON100, CDMS, IceCube) and indirect (Fermi) dark matter searches. The allowed parameter space is characterised by a Higgsino-like LSP with a mass arou…
We present new global fits of the cMSSM, including LHC 1/fb integrated luminosity SUSY exclusion limits, recent LHC 5/fb constraints on the mass of the Higgs boson and XENON100 direct detection data. Our analysis fully takes into account astrophysical and hadronic uncertainties that enter the analysis when translating direct detection limits into constraints on the cMSSM parameter space. We provide results for both a Bayesian and a Frequentist statistical analysis. We find that LHC 2011 constraints in combination with XENON100 data can rule out a significant portion of the cMSSM parameter spac…
We study phenomenological aspects of the MSSM with extra U(1) gauge symmetry. We find that the lightest Higgs boson mass can be increased up to 125 GeV, without introducing a large SUSY scale or large A-terms, in the frameworks of the CMSSM and gauge mediated SUSY breaking (GMSB) models. This scenario can simultaneously explain the discrepancy of the muon anomalous magnetic moment (muon g-2) at the 1 sigma level, in both of the frameworks, U(1)-extended CMSSM/GMSB models. In the CMSSM case, the dark matter abundance can also be explained.
We discuss the potential impacts on the CMSSM of future LHC runs and possible electron-positron and higher-energy proton-proton colliders, considering searches for supersymmetry via MET events, precision electroweak physics, Higgs measurements and dark matter searches. We validate and present estimates of the physics reach for exclusion or discovery of supersymmetry via MET searches at the LHC, which should cover the low-mass regions of the CMSSM parameter space favoured in a recent global analysis. As we illustrate with a low-mass benchmark point, a discovery would make possible accurate LHC …
We estimate the mass of the lightest neutral Higgs boson h in the minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model with universal soft supersymmetry-breaking masses (CMSSM), subject to the available accelerator and astrophysical constraints. For m_t = 174.3 GeV, we find that 114 GeV < m_h < 127 GeV and a peak in the tan beta distribution simeq 55. We observe two distinct peaks in the distribution of m_h values, corresponding to two different regions of the CMSSM parameter space. Values of m_h < 119 GeV correspond to small values of the gaugino mass m_{1/2} and the soft trilinear supersym…
We discuss the possibilities for the direct detection of neutralino dark matter via elastic scattering in variants of the minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model (MSSM) with non-universal supersymmetry-breaking contributions to the Higgs masses, which may be either equal (NUHM1) or independent (NUHM2). We compare the ranges found in the NUHM1 and NUHM2 with that found in the MSSM with universal supersymmetry-breaking contributions to all scalar masses, the CMSSM. We find that both the NUHM1 and NUHM2 offer the possibility of larger spin-independent dark matter scattering cross s…
We show that inclusion of a TeV scale chiral superfield transforming in the adjoint representation of the color SU(3) to the MSSM particle content modifies the renormalization group running of some parameters in such a way that a 125 GeV mass of the light Higgs boson is accommodated more comfortably than in cMSSM / mSUGRA. Put differently, the introduction of a color adjoint TeV scale superfield helps resurrecting lighter choices for the stop and gluino which are otherwise disfavored in cMSSM / mSUGRA.
The Higgs boson mass and the abundance of dark matter constrain the CMSSM/mSUGRA supersymmetry breaking inputs. A complete map of the CMSSM that is consistent with these two measured quantities is provided. Various "continents," consisting of non-excluded models, can be organized by their dark matter dynamics. The following mechanisms manifest: well-tempering, resonant pseudo-scalar Higgs annihilation, neutralino/stau coannihilations and neutralino/stop coannihilations. Benchmark models are chosen in order to characterize the viable regions. The expected visible signals of each are described, …
We explore electroweak precision observables (EWPO) and $B$-physics observables (BPO) in the CMSSM, the mGMSB and the mAMSB. We perform a chi^2 analysis based on the combination of current EWPO and BPO data. For the first time this allows the comparison of the mGMSB and mAMSB in terms of EWPO and BPO with the CMSSM. We find that relatively low mass scales in all three scenarios are favored. However, the current data from EWPO and BPO can hardly exclude any parameters at the level of Delta chi^2 = 9. Remarkably the mAMSB scenario, despite having one free GUT scale parameter less than the other …
On the basis of frequentist analyses of experimental constraints from electroweak precision data, g-2, B physics and cosmological data, we investigate the parameters of the constrained MSSM (CMSSM) with universal soft supersymmetry-breaking mass parameters, and a model with common non-universal Higgs masses (NUHM1). We present chi^2 likelihood functions for the masses of supersymmetric particles and Higgs bosons, as well as b to s gamma, b to mu mu and the spin-independent dark matter scattering cross section. In the CMSSM we find preferences for sparticle masses that are relatively light. In …
We analyze minimal supersymmetric models in order to determine in what parameter regions with what amount of fine-tuning they are capable of accomodating the LHC-allowed top-stop degeneracy window. The stops must be light enough to enable Higgs naturalness yet heavy enough to induce a 125 GeV Higgs boson mass. These two constraints imply a large mass splitting. By an elaborate scan of the parameter space, we show that stop-on-top scenario requires at least Delta_CMSSM ~ O(10^4) fine-tuning in the CMSSM. By relaxing the CMSSM parameter space with nonuniversal Higgs masses, we find that Delta_NU…
Within the Constrained Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (CMSSM) with Minimal Flavor Violation (MFV) for scalar quarks we study the effects of intergenerational squark mixing on $B$-physics observables, electroweak precision observables (EWPO) and the Higgs boson mass predictions. Squark mixing is generated through the Renormalization Group Equations (RGE) running from the GUT scale to the electroweak scale due to presence of non diagonal Yukawa matrices in the RGE's, e.g. due to the CKM matrix. We find that the $B$-Physics observables as well as the Higgs mass predictions do not receive s…
We consider two potential non-accelerator signatures of generalizations of the well-studied constrained minimal supersymmetric standard model (CMSSM). In one generalization, the universality constraints on soft supersymmetry-breaking parameters are applied at some input scale $M_{in}$ below the grand unification (GUT) scale $M_{GUT}$, a scenario referred to as `sub-GUT'. The other generalization we consider is to retain GUT-scale universality for the squark and slepton masses, but to relax universality for the soft supersymmetry-breaking contributions to the masses of the Higgs doublets. As wi…
The accuracy in the measurement of the masses of sleptons and heavy Higgs bosons in cMSSM scenarios, compatible with the WMAP result on cold dark matter, has been re-analysed in view of the requirements for predicting this density to a few percent level from SUSY measurements at the linear collider.
We consider the minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model (MSSM) with varying amounts of non-universality in the soft supersymmetry-breaking contributions to the Higgs scalar masses. In addition to the constrained MSSM (CMSSM) in which these are universal with the soft supersymmetry-breaking contributions to the squark and slepton masses at the input GUT scale, we consider scenarios in which both the Higgs scalar masses are non-universal by the same amount (NUHM1), and scenarios in which they are independently non-universal (NUHM2). We show how the NUHM1 scenarios generalize the (…
The recent discovery of the 125.5 GeV Higgs boson at the LHC has fueled interest in the next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model (NMSSM) as it may require less fine-tuning than the minimal model to accommodate such a heavy Higgs. To this end we present Bayesian naturalness priors to quantify fine-tuning in the (N)MSSM. These priors arise automatically as Occam razors in Bayesian model comparison and generalize the conventional Barbieri-Giudice measure. In this paper we show that the naturalness priors capture features of both the Barbieri-Giudice fine-tuning measure and a simple ratio mea…
We conduct a numerical study over the constrained MSSM (CMSSM), Next-to-MSSM (NMSSM) and $U(1)$ extended MSSM (UMSSM) to probe the allowed mass ranges of the charged Higgs boson and its dominant decay patterns, which might come into prominence in near future collider experiments. {We present results obtained from a limited scan for CMSSM} as a basis and compare its predictions with the extended models. We observe within our data that a wide mass range is allowed as $0.5(1) \lesssim m_{H^{\pm}} \lesssim 17$ TeV in UMSSM (NMSSM). We find that the dominant decay channel is mostly $H^{\pm}\rightar…
Current data (LHC direct searches, Higgs mass, dark matter-related bounds) severely affect the constrained minimal SUSY standard model (CMSSM) with neutralinos as dark matter candidates. But the evidence for neutrino masses coming from oscillations requires extending the SM with at least right-handed neutrinos with a Dirac mass term. In turn, this implies extending the CMSSM with right-handed sneutrino superpartners, a scenario we dub $\tildeν$CMSSM. These additional states constitute alternative dark matter candidates of the superWIMP type, produced via the decay of the long-lived next-to-lig…
We perform global fits to the parameters of the Constrained Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (CMSSM) and to a variant with non-universal Higgs masses (NUHM1). In addition to constraints from low-energy precision observables and the cosmological dark matter density, we take into account the LHC exclusions from searches in jets plus missing transverse energy signatures with about 5/fb of integrated luminosity at sqrt(s)=7TeV. We also include the most recent upper bound on the branching ratio Bs->mumu from LHCb. The best fit of the CMSSM prefers a light Higgs boson just above the experimenta…
We explore the parameter space of the minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model (MSSM), allowing the soft supersymmetry-breaking masses of the Higgs multiplets, m_{1,2}, to be non-universal (NUHM). Compared with the constrained MSSM (CMSSM) in which m_{1,2} are required to be equal to the soft supersymmetry-breaking masses m_0 of the squark and slepton masses, the Higgs mixing parameter mu and the pseudoscalar Higgs mass m_A, which are calculated in the CMSSM, are free in the NUHM model. We incorporate accelerator and dark matter constraints in determining allowed regions of the (…
It has been proposed that the observed diphoton excess at 750 GeV could be explained within the constrained minimal supersymmetric standard model via resonantly produced stop bound states. We reanalyze this scenario critically and extend previous work to include the constraints from the stability of the electroweak vacuum and from the decays of the stoponium into a pair of Higgs bosons. It is shown that the interesting regions of parameter space with a light stop and Higgs of the desired mass are ruled out by these constraints. This conclusion is not affected by the presence of the bound state…
We review recent progress towards automated higher-order calculations in the MSSM with complex parameters (cMSSM). The consistent renormalization of all relevant sectors of the cMSSM and the inclusion into the FeynArts/FormCalc framework has recently been completed. Some example calculations applying this framework are briefly discussed. These include two-loop corrections to cMSSM Higgs boson masses as well as partial decay widths of electroweak supersymmetric particles decaying into a Higgs boson and another supersymmetric particle.
We continue a previous study of the MSSM Higgs Lagrangian extended by all effective operators of dimension d=6 that can be present beyond the MSSM, consistent with its symmetries. By supersymmetry, such operators also extend the neutralino and chargino sectors, and the corresponding component fields Lagrangian is computed onshell. The corrections to the neutralino and chargino masses, due to these operators, are computed analytically in function of the MSSM corresponding values. For individual operators, the corrections are small, of few GeV for the constrained MSSM (CMSSM) viable parameter sp…
We highlight the differences of the dark matter sector between the constrained minimal supersymmetric SM (CMSSM) and the next-to-minimal supersymmetric SM (NMSSM) including the 126 GeV Higgs boson using GUT scale parameters. In the dark matter sector the two models are quite orthogonal: in the CMSSM the WIMP is largely a bino and requires large masses from the LHC constraints. In the NMSSM the WIMP has a large singlino component and is therefore independent of the LHC SUSY mass limits. The light NMSSM neutralino mass range is of interest for the hints concerning light WIMPs in the Fermi data. …
We study the allowed parameter space of the constrained minimal supersymmetric Standard Model (cMSSM) in the light of direct searches, constraints from $B$-physics (including the recent measurement of the branching ratio for $B_s \to μ^+μ^-$) and the dark matter relic density. For low or moderate values of $\tanβ$, the strongest constraints are those imposed by direct searches, and therefore, large areas of the parameter space are still allowed. In the large $\tan β$ limit, however, the $B$-physics constraints are more restrictive, effectively forcing the squark and gluino masses to lie close …
The recent experimental hints for a relatively heavy Higgs with a mass in the range 119-125 GeV favour supersymmetric scenarios with a large mixing in the stop mass matrix. It has been shown that this is possible in the constrained Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (CMSSM), but only for a very specific relation between the trilinear parameter and the soft scalar mass, favouring A ~ -2m for a relatively light spectrum, and sizable values of tan(beta). We describe here a string-derived scheme in which the first condition is automatic and the second arises as a consequence of imposing radiati…
CP-violating effects in the Higgs sector of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model with complex parameters (cMSSM) are induced by potentially large higher-order corrections. As a consequence, all three neutral Higgs bosons can mix with each other. Recent results for loop corrections in the Higgs sector of the cMSSM are reviewed. Results for propagator-type corrections of O(alpha_t alpha_s) and complete one-loop results for Higgs cascade decays of the kind h_a -> h_b h_c are summarised, and the proper treatment of external Higgs bosons in Higgs-boson production and decay processes is discuss…
We analyze the impact of data from the full Run 1 of the LHC at 7 and 8 TeV on the CMSSM with mu > 0 and < 0 and the NUHM1 with mu > 0, incorporating the constraints imposed by other experiments such as precision electroweak measurements, flavour measurements, the cosmological density of cold dark matter and the direct search for the scattering of dark matter particles in the LUX experiment. We use the following results from the LHC experiments: ATLAS searches for events with MET accompanied by jets with the full 7 and 8 TeV data, the ATLAS and CMS measurements of the mass of the Higgs boson, …
We investigate the sensitivity of observables measurable in e^+ e^-, gamma gamma and mu^+ mu^- collisions for distinguishing the properties of the light neutral CP-even Higgs boson in the minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model (MSSM) from those of a Standard Model (SM) Higgs boson with the same mass. We explore first the available parameter space in the constrained MSSM (CMSSM), with universal soft supersymmetry-breaking parameters, incorporating the most recent direct limits on sparticle and Higgs masses, the indirect constraints from b to s gamma and g_mu - 2, and the cosmolo…
We present an updated analysis of the constrained minimal supersymmetric standard model with mu>0 supplemented by an `asymptotic' Yukawa coupling quasi-unification condition, which allows an acceptable b-quark mass. Imposing constraints from the cold dark matter abundance in the universe, B physics, the muon anomalous magnetic moment, and the mass m_h of the lightest neutral CP-even Higgs boson, we find that the lightest neutralino cannot act as a cold dark matter candidate. This is mainly because the upper bound on the lightest neutralino relic abundance from cold dark matter considerations, …
We present an updated analysis of the CMSSM and the NUHM using the latest experimental data and numerical tools. We map out favored regions of Bayesian posterior probability in light of data from the LHC, flavor observables, the relic density and dark matter searches. We present some updated features with respect to our previous analyses: we include the effects of corrections to the light Higgs mass beyond the 2-loop order using FeynHiggs v2.10.0; we include in the likelihood the latest limits from direct searches for squarks and gluinos at ATLAS with ~20/fb; the latest constraints on the spin…
Stop coannihilation may bring the relic density of heavy supersymmetric dark matter particles into the range allowed by cosmology. The efficiency of this process is enhanced by stop-antistop annihilations into the longitudinal (Goldstone) modes of the $W$ and $Z$ bosons, as well as by Sommerfeld enhancement of stop annihilations and the effects of bound states. Since the couplings of the stops to the Goldstone modes are proportional to the trilinear soft supersymmetry-breaking $A$-terms, these annihilations are enhanced when the $A$-terms are large. However, the Higgs mass may be reduced below…
We perform a systematic study of the effects of the type-I seesaw mechanism on the dark matter abundance in the constrained supersymmetric standard model (CMSSM) which includes three right-handed neutrinos (the $ν$CMSSM). For large values of $m_0,m_{1/2}$, we exploit the effects of large neutrino Yukawa couplings on the renormalization group (RG) evolution of the up-type Higgs. In particular, we show that the focus point scale can greatly exceed the electroweak scale resulting in the absence of a focus point region for which the relic density of neutralinos is within the range determined by WM…
Previous LHC forecasts for the constrained minimal supersymmetric standard model (CMSSM), based on current astrophysical and laboratory measurements, have used priors that are flat in the parameter tan beta, while being constrained to postdict the central experimental value of MZ. We construct a different, new and more natural prior with a measure in mu and B (the more fundamental MSSM parameters from which tan beta and MZ are actually derived). We find that as a consequence this choice leads to a well defined fine-tuning measure in the parameter space. We investigate the effect of such on glo…
We investigate, if the cosmic ray positron fraction, as reported by the HEAT and AMS collaborations, is compatible with the annihilation of neutralinos in the supergravity inspired Constrained Minimal Supersymmetric Model (CMSSM), thus complementing previous investigations, which did not consider constraints from unification, electroweak symmetry breaking and the present Higgs limits at LEP. We perform a global fit of all SUSY parameters to low energy constraints and find that in the acceptable parameter regions the neutralino annihilation into b-bbar quark pairs is the dominant channel and im…
We combine the constraint suggested by the recent BNL E821 measurement of the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon on the parameter space of the constrained MSSM (CMSSM) with those provided previously by LEP, the measured rate of b to s gamma decay and the cosmological relic density Omega-hsquared. Our treatment of Omega-hsquared includes carefully the direct-channel Higgs poles in annihilation of pairs of neutralinos chi and a complete analysis of chi - slepton coannihilation. We find excellent consistency between all the constraints for tan beta > 10 and mu > 0, for restricted ranges of the…
In the CMSSM the heaviest scalar and pseudo-scalar Higgs bosons decay largely into b-quarks and tau-leptons because of the large $\tanβ$ values favored by the relic density. In the NMSSM the number of possible decay modes is much richer. In addition to the CMSSM-like scenarios, the decay of the heavy Higgs bosons is preferentially into top quark pairs (if kinematically allowed), lighter Higgs bosons or neutralinos, leading to invisible decays. We provide a scan over the NMSSM parameter space to project the 6D parameter space of the Higgs sector on the 3D space of the Higgs masses to determine …
For the search for additional Higgs bosons in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) as well as for future precision analyses in the Higgs sector a precise knowledge of their decay properties is mandatory. We evaluate all two-body decay modes of the Higgs bosons into charginos and neutralinos in the MSSM with complex parameters (cMSSM). The evaluation is based on a full one-loop calculation of all decay channels, also including hard QED radiation. We restricted ourselves to a version of our renormalization scheme which is valid for |M_1| < |M_2|, |mu| and M_2 != mu to simplify the an…
A survey of the mSUGRA/CMSSM parameter space is presented. The viable regions of the parameter space which satisfy all experimental constraints are identified and discussed. These constraints include a 124-127 GeV mass for the lightest CP-even Higgs and the correct relic density for cold dark matter (CDM). The superpartner spectra corresponding to these regions fall within the well-known hyperbolic branch (HB) and are found to possess sub-TeV neutralinos and charginos, with mixed Bino/Higgsino LSP's with 200-800 GeV masses. In addition, the models possess ~3-4 TeV gluino masses and heavy squar…
We analyze the implications of several recent cosmological and experimental measurements for the mass spectra of the Constrained MSSM (CMSSM). We compute the relic abundance of the neutralino and compare the new cosmologically expected and excluded mass ranges with those ruled out by the final LEP bounds on the lightest chargino and Higgs masses, with those excluded by current experimental values of $\br(B\to X_s γ)$, and with those favored by the recent measurement of the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon. We find that for $tanβ\lsim 45$ there remains relatively little room for the mass s…
We examine the observed diphoton excess at 750 GeV in the framework of constrained Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (cMSSM). The consistency of cMSSM with the discovery of a 125 GeV Higgs boson and PLANCK/WMAP data for dark matter relic density (RD) demands large mixing in the scalar top (stop) sector and consequently, the existence of a light stop quasi-degenerate with the lightest neutralino. Small decay width due to kinematic and loop suppression of such a stop allows for the existence of stop-antistop bound states (stoponia). Identifying the particular part of cMSSM parameter space co…
We study the possibility of a light Dark Matter (DM) within a constrained Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (cMSSM) framework augmented by a SM singlet-pair sector to account for the non-zero neutrino masses by inverse seesaw mechanism. Working within a 'hybrid' scenario with the MSSM sector fixed at high scale and the singlet neutrino sector at low scale, we find that, contrary to the case of the usual cMSSM where the neutralino DM cannot be very light, we can have a light sneutrino DM with mass below 100 GeV satisfying all the current experimental constraints from cosmology, collider as …
