The CP violation of the neutral $B$ meson is the important phenomenon to search for the new physics. The like-sign dimuon charge asymmetry observed by the D$Ø$ Collaboration indicates the CP-violating new physics in the $B_s-\bar B_s$ mixing. On the other hand, LHCb observed the CP-violating asymmetry in $B_s^0\to J/ψϕ$ and $B_s^0\to J/ψf_0(980)$, which is consistent with the SM prediction. However, there is still room for new physics of the CP violation. The CKMfitter has presented the allowed region of the new physics parameters taking account of the LHCb data. Based on these results, we discuss the effect of the squark flavor mixing on the CP violation in the $B_d$ and $B_s$ mesons. We predict asymmetries in the non-leptonic decays $B_d^0\to ϕK_S$, $B_d^0\to η'K^0$, $B_s^0\to ϕϕ$ and $B_s^0\to ϕη'$.
We discuss a decay rate asymmetry of the top squark, which is induced by a new source of CP violation intrinsic in the supersymmetric standard model. Although new sources of CP violation in this model are severely constrained from the electric dipole moment of the neutron, an unsuppressed CP-violating phase can still coexist with a top squark whose mass is accessible by near-future colliders. Then the dominant decay mode of the top squark has a width different from its CP conjugate process. The magnitude of this $CP$ asymmetry becomes of order $10^{-3}$.
Supersymmetric contribution to the CP asymmetry of B_d \to ϕK_S is re-examined. It is emphasized that our analysis takes into account the recently found constraint from the mercury electric dipole moment, in addition to the well-known constraint from the branching ratio of b \to s γ. We show that, despite these constraints, the CP asymmetry can considerably deviate from the Standard Model prediction, if the CP-odd flavor mixing comes from left-handed squarks. Alignment mechanism of sfermion masses and mixing may imprint the required flavor mixing at high energy scale.
A decay rate asymmetry of the top quark is discussed within the framework of the supersymmetric standard model. Although new sources of CP violation in this model are severely constrained from the electric dipole moments of the neutron and the electron, there is a possibility that a top squark has a mass of around 100 GeV and CP violation in its interaction with a top quark is unsuppressed. Then partial widths could be different between the decays $t\to bW^+$ and $\bar t\to \bar bW^-$. The magnitude of this CP asymmetry can be of order $10^{-3}$, which may be detectable in the near future.
The spectrum of supersymmetric theories with R-parity violation are much more weakly constrained than that of supersymmetric theories with a stable neutralino. We investigate the signatures of supersymmetry at the LHCb experiment in the region of parameter space where the neutralino decay leaves a displaced vertex. We find sensitivity to squark production up to squark masses of order 1 TeV. We note that if the Higgs decays to neutralinos in this scenario, LHCb should see the lightest Higgs boson before ATLAS and CMS.
CP asymmetry in $B \to ϕK_S$ decay is studied in a special context of supersymmetry theories, in which the charginos play an important role. We find that in addition to the gluino, chargino can also make large contributions to CP asymmetry in $B \to ϕK_S$ decay. After considering the constraints from $B \to J/psi K_S$ decay, we study three special scenarios: (a). Large mixing on left-handed charm and top squarks (LL mixing); (b). Large mixing on right-handed charm and top squarks (RR mixing); (c). Large mixing on left-handed charm and top squarks plus right-handed charm and top squarks (LL + R…
We consider a setup where R-parity is violated in the framework of split supersymmetry. The out-of-equilibrium decays of heavy squarks successfully lead to the generation of a baryon asymmetry. We restrict the R-parity violating couplings to the baryon number violating subset to keep the neutralino sufficiently stable to provide the dark matter. The observed baryon asymmetry can be generated for squark masses larger than 10^11 GeV, while neutralino dark matter induces a stronger bound of 10^13 GeV. Some mass splitting between left- and right-handed squarks may be needed to satisfy also constra…
We study the effect of the neutralino polarization in a squark cascade decay $\tilde{q} \to q \tildeχ^0_2 \to q l^\pm \tilde{l}^\mp \to q l^\pm \tilde{l}^\mp \to q l^\pm l^\mp \tildeχ^0_1$. Charge asymmetry in the lepton-jet invariant mass distribution appears depending on the chirality structure of the sfermion-fermion-neutralino coupling. With use of the Monte Carlo simulation, we show that the asymmetry is measurable in LHC. We also show that the distribution of the charge asymmetry is sensitive to the (s)lepton flavor.
Baryon asymmetry of the universe is generated in the supersymmetric standard model (SSM) through the charge transport mechanism mediated by top squarks. Necessary CP violation originates from a complex phase contained in mass-squared matrices of squarks and sleptons. This complex phase also gives contributions to the electric dipole moments (EDMs) of the neutron and the electron. The amount of induced baryon asymmetry is consistent with its observed value within reasonable ranges of SSM parameters. The EDMs are predicted to be slightly smaller than their experimental upper limits.
We study a decay rate asymmetry of the top quark in the supersymmetric standard model, taking into account the constraints from the electric dipole moments of the neutron and the electron. One CP-violating phase contained in the mass-squared matrices of squarks and sleptons is allowed to have an unsuppressed value, even if their masses are of order 100 GeV. Sizable $CP$ violation could then occur in the production and decay of the top quark through interactions with top squarks. The asymmetry between the widths for the decays $t\to bW^+$ and $\bar t\to \bar bW^-$ can be of order $10^{-3}$, whi…
We study baryogenesis at the electroweak phase transition of the universe within the framework of the supersymmetric standard model (SSM) based on N=1 supergravity. This model contains a new source of CP violation in the mass-squared matrices for squarks, which could enable $t$ squarks to mediate the charge transport mechanism for generating baryon asymmetry. The same CP-violating source also induces the electric dipole moment (EDM) of the neutron at the one-loop level. If the new CP-violating phase is not suppressed, it is shown, the $t$-squark transport can lead to baryon asymmetry consisten…
The D0 collaboration has announced the observation of the like-sign dimuon charge asymmetry since 2010, which has more than 3σdeviation from the Standard Model prediction. One of the promising explanation is considering the existence of flavor changing Z' couplings to the b and s quarks which can contribute to the off-diagonal decay width in the B_s - \bar{B}_s mixing. Model construction is highly constrained by the recent LHCb data of 1fb^{-1} integrated luminosity . In this paper, we analyze the experimental constraints in constructing new physics models to explain the dimuon charge asymmetr…
The forward LHCb acceptance offers the possibility of measuring the top-quark pair asymmetry in a kinematic region that does not receive overwhelming dilution from the symmetric gluon-fusion channel. To investigate this possibility, two leptonic final states are identified, and analysis strategies are proposed for each channel with 14~TeV data. Leading fixed-order predictions are then provided for the relevant leptonic asymmetry variables in each channel. If backgrounds can be experimentally constrained, statistically, a non-zero asymmetry is estimated to be observable beyond 5$σ$ confidence l…
We discuss production of neutral $D$ mesons in proton-proton collisions at the LHC (fixed target mode) in the framework of the BJM recombination model. We present rapidity and transverse momentum distributions of $D$ mesons and compare the recombination contribution to the dominant gluon-gluon fusion mechanism. Both the direct production, as dictated by the matrix element, and fragmentation of the associated $c$ or $\bar c$ are included. The latter mechanism generates $D$ mesons with smaller rapidities than those produced directly. We calculate the $D^0 + {\bar D^{0}}$ meson distributions rele…
The present paper deals with a next-to-leading order analysis of the radiative $B \to K^* γ$ decay. Working in the PQCD approach developed by Szczepaniak {\it et al.}, we compute the correction, coming from a single gluon exchange with the spectator, to the essential form factor. Since the branching ratio gets much above the experimental data, although in agreement with other theoretical models predictions, we take into consideration the effects of complex flavour couplings in the squark sector. Finally, we discuss these SUSY implications on the branching ratio and direct CP asymmetry values a…
The unique forward LHCb acceptance opens the possibility for performing precision Standard Model (SM) processes in a kinematical regime beyond the reach of both ATLAS and CMS experiments. In this article we discuss the feasibility of performing $W^{\pm}j$ measurements with 14 TeV LHCb data, and find that the leptonic asymmetry at high pseudorapidity, with appropriate cuts on the associated jet, can provide a factor of three reduction on the $d$ quark PDF uncertainty in a region of Bjorken $x > 0.5$.
We suggest that top physics can be studied at the LHCb experiment, and that top production could be observed. Since LHCb covers a large pseudorapidity region in the forward direction, it has unique abilities to probe new physics in the top sector. Furthermore, we demonstrate that LHCb may be able to measure a t\bar t production rate asymmetry, and thus indirectly probe an anomalous forward backward t\bar t asymmetry in the forward region; a possibility suggested by the enhanced forward-backward asymmetry reported by the CDF experiment.
Since the CP violation in the $B$ system has been investigated up to now only through processes related to the $B$--$\bar{B}$ mixing, urgently required is new way of study for the CP violation and establishing its origin in the $B$ system independent of the mixing process. In this work, we explore the exclusive $ B^0 \to ρ^0 γ$ decay to obtain the time-dependent CP asymmetry in $b \to d$ decay process in the standard model and the supersymmetric model. We find that the complex RL and RR mass insertion to the squark sector in the MSSM can lead to a large CP asymmetry in $b \to d γ$ decay throug…
We analyze electroweak baryogenesis in supersymmetric theories with flavor-dependent CP-violating phases. We generalize the standard approach to include the flavor dependence of the CP-violating sources and obtain an analytical approximate expression for the baryon asymmetry of the universe induced by these sources. It is shown that in the framework where the $μ$-term is real and the chargino sources vanish, large flavor mixing might lead to a substantial baryon asymmetry through the squark contributions, once the condition to have a strong first-order phase transition induced by light right-h…
We study the contribution of the squark flavor mixing from the $LR(RL)$ component of the squark mass matrices to the direct CP violation of the $b\to sγ$ decay and the CP-violating asymmetry in the non-leptonic decays of $B$ mesons. The magnitude of the $LR(RL)$ component is constrained by the branching ratio and the direct CP violation of $b\to sγ$. We predict the correlation of the CP asymmetries among $A_{\text{CP}}^{b \to s γ}$, $\mathcal{S}_{ϕK_S}$ and $\mathcal{S}_{η'K^0}$ of the B decays. The precise data of these CP violations will give us the crucial test for our framework of the squa…
A suitably broken U(2)^3 symmetry acting on the first two generations of quarks and squarks is studied as a natural generalization of the Minimal Flavour Violation principle to the case of a hierarchical squark spectrum. A definite correlation emerges between the meson mixing amplitudes in the K, B(d) and B(s) systems which can resolve the current tension in CKM fits, while predicting a moderate enhancement of the B(s) mixing phase, in agreement with recent data from the LHCb experiment, as well as sbottom and gluino masses in the TeV region.
The CP violating asymmetry from the decay rates $H^\pm\to W^\pm h_1$ of charged Higgs bosons into the lightest neutral Higgs boson and a $W^\pm$ boson is calculated and discussed in the complex MSSM. The contributions from all complex phases are considered, especially from the top-squark trilinear coupling, which induces a large contribution to the CP asymmetry.
The interaction of bottom squark-mediated top quark pair production, occurring in the R-parity violating minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM), is proposed as an explanation of the anomalously large $t\bar{t}$ forward-backward asymmetry (FBA) observed at the Tevatron. We find that this model can give a good fit to top quark data, both the inclusive and invariant mass-dependent asymmetries, while remaining consistent (at the 2-$σ$ level) with the total and differential production cross-sections. The scenario is challenged by strong constraints from atomic parity violation (APV), but we p…
Predictions are made for the forward-backward and charge asymmetries in bottom-quark pair production at hadron colliders. Tree-level exchanges of electroweak (EW) gauge bosons dominate the Standard Model (SM) contribution to the asymmetry near the $Z$-pole. The mixed EW-QCD corrections are computed in an approximate way, and are found to be small in magnitude. These SM predictions are consistent with experimental results from CDF, D0, and LHCb. In particular, CDF and LHCb find that the asymmetry in the invariant mass bin containing the $Z$-pole is larger than in the adjacent bins, as predicted…
The asymmetry in the forward region production cross section of D^\pm is calculated using the heavy-quark recombination mechanism for pp collisions at 7 TeV. By suitable choices of four non-perturbative parameters, our calculated results can reproduce those obtained at LHCb. We find A_p ~ -1% when integrated over 2.0 GeV < p_T < 18 GeV and 2.2< eta <4.75, which agrees with A_p=-0.96\pm0.26\pm0.18% as measured by LHCb. Furthermore, the calculated distributions in eta and p_T agree reasonably well with those obtained at LHCb.
We present a next-to-leading order determination of the gluino-mediated SUSY contributions to B_d-Bbar_d mixing and to the CP asymmetry a_{J/psi K_s} in the framework of the mass-insertion approximation. Using hadronic matrix elements recently computed on the lattice, we obtain improved constraints on the squark-mass splittings.
The correlation between the CP asymmetry in $B\to ϕK_s$ ($S_{ϕK_s}$) and the chromoelectric dipole moment (CEDM) of strange quark ($d_s^C$), which is constrained by the electric dipole moment (EDM) of $^{199}$Hg, is studied in the supersymmetric (SUSY) models with the right-handed squark mixing. It is known that, if the right-handed bottom and strange squarks have a CP-violating mixing, such as in the SUSY SU(5) GUT with right-handed neutrinos, the induced gluon-penguin diagram may give a sizable contribution to $S_{ϕK_s}$. However, when the left-handed bottom and strange squarks also have a m…
A large CP asymmetry predicted recently in the framework of the QCD factorization model for the B+- --> K+- K+ K- decays in the range of the K+ K- invariant masses above the phi(1020) resonance has been confirmed by the LHCb Collaboration. We discuss the emergence and size of this asymmetry in an extended model involving S- and P-waves together with the contribution from the D-wave f2(1270) resonance and compare our model with the experimental data of the LHCb and BABAR Collaborations.
The LHCb collaboration has recently performed a first measurement of the angular production asymmetry in the distribution of beauty quarks and anti-quarks at a hadron collider. We calculate the corresponding standard model prediction for this asymmetry at fixed-order in perturbation theory. Our results show good agreement with the data, which is provided differentially for three bins in the invariant mass of the $b \bar b$ system. We also present similar predictions for both beauty-quark and charm-quark final states within the LHCb acceptance for a collision energy of $\sqrt{s} = 13 \, {\rm Te…
We obtain a new constraint on the CP-violating flavor mixing between the left-handed top scalar quark (\tilde{t}_L) and charm scalar quark (\tilde{c}_L), by considering a chargino loop contribution to chromo-electric dipole moment of strange quark, which is limited by the electric dipole moment of the neutron and atoms. It is found that the flavor mixing should be suppressed to the level of {\cal O}(0.1) for the CP phase of order unity. Although it is much stronger than the known constraint from the chargino loop contribution to b \to s γ, the moderate constraint we obtain here is argued to le…
A new constraint is obtained on the CP-violating flavor mixing between the left-handed top scalar quark (\tilde{t}_L) and charm scalar quark (\tilde{c}_L), by considering a chargino loop contribution to chromo-electric dipole moment of strange quark, which is limited by the electric dipole moment of the ^{199}Hg atom. It is found that the flavor mixing should be suppressed to the level of {\cal O}(0.1) for the CP phase of order unity, when \tan βis relatively large and sparticle masses lie in a few hundred GeV range. Although it is much stronger than the known constraint from the chargino loop…
We study the new physics (NP) implications of the recently reported 3.2 sigma Standard Model (SM) deviation in the like-sign dimuon asymmetry at the Tevatron. Assuming that new physics only enters the B(s) mixing amplitude we explore the implications for generic new physics, general supersymmetric (SUSY) models and also SUSY SU(5). In the case of SUSY SU(5) we exploit the GUT scale relationship between slepton and squark soft masses to predict rates for lepton flavour violation (LFV). The predicted rates for tau --> mu + gamma are found to be detectable at future Super-B factories.
We calculate squared helicity amplitudes for non-diagonal and mixed squark pair production at hadron colliders, taking into account not only loop-induced QCD diagrams, but also previously unconsidered electroweak channels, which turn out to be dominant. Mixing effects are included for both top and bottom squarks. Numerical results are presented for several SUSY benchmark scenarios at both the CERN LHC and the Fermilab Tevatron, including the possibilities of light stops or sbottoms. The latter should be easily observed at the Tevatron in associated production of stops and sbottoms for a large …
In this paper we discuss the origin of the asymmetry present in D meson production and its energy dependence. In particular, we have applied the meson cloud model to calculate the asymmetries in D^-/D^+ meson production in high energy p-p collisions and find a good agreement with recent LHCb data. Although small, this non-vanishing asymmetry may shed light on the role played by the charm meson cloud of the proton.
We analyze the chargino contributions to B_d - B-bar_d mixing and CP asymmetry of the B_d --> J/psi K_S decay, in the framework of the mass insertion approximation. We derive model independent bounds on the relevant mass insertions. Moreover, we study these contributions in supersymmetric models with minimal flavor violation, Hermitian flavor structure, and small CP violating phases and universal strength Yukawa couplings. We show that in supersymmetric models with large flavor mixing, the observed values of sin(2 beta) may be entirely due to the chargino-up-squark loops.
We study a rate asymmetry in the inclusive decay $\Bsgamma$, assuming the supersymmetric standard model based on N=1 supergravity. A complex coefficient $A$ for scalar-trilinear couplings is the source of CP violation, which is contained in the mass-squared matrices for squarks. The model parameters are nontrivially constrained by experimental results for the branching ratio of the radiative decay and for the electric dipole moments of the neutron and the electron. The decay rate asymmetry is predicted to be much larger than that by the standard model in a wide region of the parameter space co…
We study the contribution of the gluino-squark mediated flavor changing process for the CP violation in $b\to s$ and $b\to d$ transitions facing on recent experimental data. The mass insertion parameters of squarks are constrained by the branching ratios of $b\to sγ$ and $b\to dγ$ decays. In addition, the time dependent CP asymmetries of $B^0\to ϕK_S$ and $B^0\to η' K^0$ decays severely restrict the allowed region of the mass insertion parameter for the $b\to s$ transition. By using these constraints with squark and gluino masses of 1.5 TeV, we predict the CP asymmetries of $B_s\to ϕϕ$, $B_s\t…
We analyze $B^0_d-{\bar B}^0_d$ mixing in a fully left-right supersymmetric model. We give explicit expressions for all the chargino, gluino, gluino-neutralino and neutralino amplitudes involved in the process. We calculate the mass difference $Δm_d$ and CP asymmetry $a_{J/ψK_s}$ in both the constrained case (where the only flavor violation comes from the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix) and the unconstrained case (including soft supersymmetry breaking terms). The constrained case does not contain any new information beyond the supergravity-inspired MSSM. In the unconstrained case, the main c…
We study CP violations in the B_s-> K+K- and Bs->K0K0 decays in order to find the contribution of the supersymmetry, which comes from the gluino-squark mediated flavor changing current. We obtain the allowed region of the squark flavor mixing parameters by putting the experimental data, the mass difference Delta M_Bs, the CP violating phase phi_s in Bs to J/psi phi decay and the b to s gamma branching ratio. In addition to these data, we take into account the constraint from the asymmetry of B0->K+pi because the Bs->K+K- decay is related with the B0->K+pi- decay by replacing the spectator s wi…
In a simple extension of the minimal supersymmetric standard model, out-of-equilibrium decays of TeV scale exotic vector-like squarks may generate the baryon asymmetry of the universe. Baryon number and CP violation are present in the superpotential, so this mechanism does not rely on CP violation in supersymmetry breaking parameters. We discuss phenomenological constraints on the model as well as potential signals for the Large Hadron Collider and electronic dipole moment experiments. A variation on the TeV scale model allows the exotic squarks to be the messengers of gauge mediated supersymm…
We calculate the CP-violating effects in the top quark semi-leptonic three body decays induced by the supersymmetric CP-odd phase of the top squark trilinear soft breaking term $\arg(A_t)$. The light top squark mass is assumed to be close to the top quark mass $m_{\tilde{t}}\sim m_t$. The CP-conserving phase is provided by the $χ^+$ and $χ^0$ cut. We find that the partial rate asymmetry is in the 0.1% level. In the most favorable parameter region the decay rate asymmetr can reach up to 0.55%.
The CDF and LHCb experiments have recently provided two intriguing hints for new physics: a large forward-backward asymmetry in $t\bar t$ production, and a direct CP asymmetry in D decays of order a percent. In both cases, flavor non-universal interactions are required in the up sector, raising the possibility that the two effects come from one and the same new physics source. We show that a minimal model, with an extra scalar doublet, previously suggested to explain the top data, gives -- without any modifications or additions -- a contribution to CP violation in charm decays that is of the r…
We discuss the role of unfavoured light quark/antiquark to $D$ meson fragmentation. The unknown parameters of fragmentation process are adjusted to describe the asymmetry for $D^+$ and $D^-$ production measured by the LHCb. Predictions for similar asymmetry for neutral $D$ mesons are presented. The predicted asymmetry at large rapidity (or $x_F$) are very large which is related to the valence-quark contribution. As a result, prompt atmospheric neutrino flux at high neutrino energies can be much larger than for the conventional $c \to D$ fragmentation. We predict large rapidity-dependent $D^+/D…
We present a class of warped extra dimension (composite Higgs) models which conjointly accommodates the t\bar t forward-backward asymmetry observed at the Tevatron and the direct CP asymmetry in singly Cabibbo suppressed D decays first reported by the LHCb collaboration. We argue that both asymmetries, if arising dominantly from new physics beyond the Standard Model, hint for a flavor paradigm within partial compositeness models in which the right-handed quarks of the first two generations are not elementary fields but rather composite objects. We show that this class of models is consistent w…
We derive new model independent constraints on the supersymmetric extensions of the standard model from the new experimental measurements of B_s -\bar{B}_s mass difference. We point out that supersymmetry can still give a significant contribution to the CP asymmetry of B_s ->J/ψϕthat can be measured at the LHCb experiment. These new constraints on the LL and RR squark mixing severely restricted their possible contributions to the CP asymmetries of B-> ϕK and B - >η' K. Therefore, SUSY models with dominant LR flavor mixing is the only way to accommodate the apparent deviation of CP asymmetries …
In a SUSY GUT seesaw scenario, the largeness of the atmospheric neutrino mixing can reflect itself into an enhanced flavor changing mixing of beauty and strange right-handed scalar quarks. If the CP violating phase in such down type squark RR insertion is the main source of CP asymmetry in B_d -> phi K_S and the gluino contributions to K0-K0 bar and B0-B0 bar mixing are negligible, there is a correlation between Re (epsilon'/epsilon_K) and B_d -> phi K_S CP asymmetry, in addition to that with the strange quark CEDM. The current data on Re (epsilon'/epsilon_K) = (16.7 +- 2.6) 10^-4 imply that S…
An overview of current experimental bounds on $CPT$ violation in neutral meson mixing is given. New values for the $CPT$ asymmetry in the $B^0$ and $B_s^0$ systems are deduced from published BaBar, Belle and LHCb results. With dedicated analyses, LHCb will be able to further improve the bounds on $CPT$ violation in the $D^0$, $B^0$ and $B_s^0$ systems. Since $CPT$ violation implies violation of Lorentz invariance in an interacting local quantum field theory, the observed $CPT$ asymmetry will exhibit sidereal- and boost-dependent variations. Such $CPT$-violating and Lorentz-violating effects ar…
The MSSM has flat directions in its scalar potential, along which it is natural for Bose condensates of squarks to form in the early Universe. A baryon asymmetry can be induced in these condensates via Affleck-Dine baryogenesis. The condensates are unstable with respect to fragmentation to "B-balls", solitons made of squarks and carrying baryon number, which, if they survive thermalization, fill the Universe down to low temperatures, much lower than that of the electroweak phase transition, with interesting cosmological consequences. In particular, their decay implies a similar number density …
Evidence of physics beyond the Standard Model (SM) of particle physics might be revealed through CP violation. Experimental results from BaBar, Belle, and most recently from LHCb are very interesting in this respect. It is important to calculate various CP violation parameters within the SM. In this Letter, the final state interaction (FSI) phases with the CKM matrix are calculated using the recent experimental results from LHCb on CP violation in B0 and Bs0 meson decays. To obtain the allowed regions of the FSI phases, a simplified form of the Jarlskog determinant of the CKM matrix is used an…
The like-sign dimuon charge asymmetry of the $B$ meson, which was reported in the D$Ø$ Collaboration, is studied in the SU(5) SUSY GUT model with $S_4$ flavor symmetry. Additional CP violating effects from the squark sector are discussed in $B_s-\bar B_s$ mixing process. The predicted like-sign charge asymmetry is in the 2$σ$ range of the combined result of D$Ø$ and CDF measurements. Since the SUSY contributions in the quark sector affect to the lepton sector because of the SU(5) GUT relation, two predictions are given in the leptonic processes: (i) both ${\rm BR}(μ\to e γ)$ and the electron E…
We review the direct CP and T violation in the three-body baryonic B decays in the standard model. In particular, we emphasize that the direct CP violating asymmetry in $B^\pm\to p\bar p K^{*\pm}$ is around 22% and the direct $T$ violating asymmetry in $\bar B^0 \ra Λ\bar p π^+$ can be as large as 12%, which are accessible to the current B factories at KEK and SLAC as well as SuperB and LHCb.
We study the effect of scalar leptoquarks on some rare decays of $B_s$ mesons involving the quark level transition $b\rightarrow s$ $l^{+} l^{-}.$ In particular we consider the decays $B_{s} \rightarrow μ^{+} μ^{-}$, $\bar B_d^0 \to X_s μ^+ μ^-$ and $B_{s} \rightarrow ϕ$ $μ^{+} μ^{-}$. The leptoquark parameter space is constrained using the recently measured branching ratio of the $B_{s} \rightarrow μ^{+} μ^{-}$ process at LHCb and CMS experiments. Using such parameters we obtain the branching ratio, forward backward asymmetry and the CP asymmetry parameters in the angular distribution of $B_s…
We show that the recent measurements of $B_s-\bar{B}_s$ mass difference, $Δm_s$, by DØ and CDF collaborations give very strong constraints on MSSM scenario with large flavor mixing in the LL and/or RR sector of down-type squark mass squared matrix. In particular, the region with large mixing angle and large mass difference between scalar strange and scalar bottom is ruled out by giving too large $Δm_s$. The allowed region is sensitive to the CP violating phases $δ_{L(R)}$. The $Δm_s$ constraint is most stringent on the scenario with both LL and RR mixing. We also predict the time-dependent CP …
We consider unfavoured light quark/antiquark to $D$ meson fragmentation. We discuss nonperturbative effects for small transverse momenta. The asymmetry for $D^+$ and $D^-$ production measured by the LHCb collaboration provides natural constraints on the parton (quark/antiquark) fragmentation functions. We find that already a fraction of $q/{\bar q} \to D$ fragmentation probability is sufficient to account for the measured asymmetry. We make predictions for similar asymmetry for neutral $D$ mesons. Large $D$-meson production asymmetries are found for large $x_F$ which is related to dominance of…
Recent measurement of time dependent asymmetries in $B \to ϕK$ are indicative of a new source of CP violation. We examine squark mixing in SUSY as this new source, and using QCD improved factorization method to describe $B \to ϕK $ decay, find the allowed range of parameter space for $ρ$ and $ψ$, the magnitude and phase of the down type LR(RL) squark mixing parameter $δ^{bs}_{LR(RL)}$. We then study $B \to ϕK^{*}$ and calculate the expected CP asymmetries in the same range of parameter space. We find that this asymmetry is in the range 15% to $20% $ for acceptable value of $B \to phi K^{*}$ br…
We study the sensitivity of the squark flavor mixing to the CP violating phenomena of $K$, $B^0$ and $B_s$ mesons in the framework of the split-family scenario, where the first and second family squarks are very heavy, ${\cal O}(10)$TeV, on the other hand, the third family squark masses are at ${\cal O}(1)$TeV. In order to constrain the gluino-sbottom-quark mixing parameters, we input the experimental data of the CP violations of $K$, $B^0$, and $B_s$ mesons, that is $ε_K$, $ϕ_d$, and $ϕ_s$. The experimental upper bound of the chromo-EDM of the strange quark is also input. In addition, we take…
We discuss the potential of observing effects of CP-violation phases in squark decay chains at the LHC. As the CP-odd observable, we use the asymmetry composed by triple products of final state momenta. There are good prospects of observing these effects using the method of kinematic reconstruction for the final and intermediate state particles. We also discuss the main experimental factors and the expected sensitivity.
We perform model-independent statistical analyses of three scenarios accommodating New Physics (NP) in Delta F=2 flavour-changing neutral current amplitudes. In a scenario in which NP in B_d-B_d-bar and B_s-B_s-bar is uncorrelated, we find the parameter point representing the Standard-Model disfavoured by 2.4 standard deviations. However, recent LHCb data on B_s neutral-meson mixing forbid a good accommodation of the D0 data on the semileptonic CP asymmetry A_SL. We introduce a fourth scenario with NP in both M_12^d,s and Gamma_12^d,s, which can accommodate all data. We discuss the viability o…
