Using an appropriate change of variable, the Schrödinger equation is transformed into a second-order differential equation satisfied by recently discovered Jacobi type $X_m$ exceptional orthogonal polynomials. This facilitates the derivation of infinite families of exactly solvable Hermitian as well as non-Hermitian trigonometric Scarf potentials and finite number of Hermitian and infinite number of non-Hermitian PT-symmetric hyperbolic Scarf potentials. PT/Non-PT Symmetric and Non-Hermitian Poschl-Teller-Like Solvable Potentials via Nikiforov-Uvarov Method

The solutions of trigonometric Scarf potential, PT/non-PT-symmetric and non-Hermitian q-deformed hyperbolic Scarf and Manning-Rosen potentials are obtained by solving the Schrodinger equation. The Nikiforov-Uvarov method is used to obtain the real energy spectra and corresponding eigenfunctions.

Energy spectrum of a generalized Scarf potential using the Asymptotic Iteration Method and the Tridiagonal Representation Approach

The well-known trigonometric Scarf potential is generalized by adding a sinusoidal term and then treated using the Asymptotic Iteration Method (AIM) and the Tridiagonal Representation Approach (TRA). The energy spectrum of the associated bound states are computed. For the AIM, we have improved convergence of the quantization condition that terminates the iterations asymptotically. We consider quantum motion on S3 perturbed by the trigonometric Scarf potential (Scarf I) with one internal quantized dimensionless parameter, l, the ordinary orbital angular momentum value, and another, continuous parameter, b, through which an external scale is introduced. We argue that a loss of the geometric hyper-spherical so(4) symmetry of the free motion occurs that leaves intact the unperturbed hydrogen-like degeneracy patterns characterizing the spectrum under discussion.
