While strictly black and white images have been the basis for visual cryptography, there has been a lack of an easily implemented format for colour images. This paper establishes a simple, yet secure way of implementing visual cryptography with colour, assuming a binary data representation.

In this paper, a simple and robust color image encryption algorithm based on high-dimensional chaotic maps is proposed. The algorithm employs a 3D Arnold transform to perform inter-component shuffling of plain-image, while a 2D hyper-chaotic map is used to confuse the relationship between the encrypted image and plain-image. The control parameters of Arnold transform are extracted from pending plain-image, thereby establishing a dependency to the plain-image. The confusion process is carried out in cipher-block chaining mode to make it dependent to the encrypted image. This makes the algorithm…
In this paper, two image encryption schemes are proposed for grayscale and color images. The two encryption schemes are based on dividing each image into blocks of different sizes. In the first scheme, the two dimension ($2$D) input image is divided into various blocks of size $N \times N$. Each block is transformed into a one dimensional ($1$D) array by using the Zigzag pattern. Then, the exclusive or (XOR) logical operation is used to encrypt each block with the analogous secret key. In the second scheme, after the transformation process, the first block of each image is encrypted by the cor…
A new grayscale-based block scrambling image encryption scheme is presented to enhance the security of Encryption-then-Compression (EtC) systems, which are used to securely transmit images through an untrusted channel provider. The proposed scheme enables the use of a smaller block size and a larger number of blocks than the conventional scheme. Images encrypted using the proposed scheme include less color information due to the use of grayscale images even when the original image has three color channels. These features enhance security against various attacks, such as jigsaw puzzle solver an…

Reversible data hiding in encrypted image (RDHEI) becomes a hot topic, and a lot of algorithms have been proposed to optimize this technology. However, these algorithms cannot achieve strong embedding capacity. Thus, in this paper, we propose an advanced RDHEI scheme based on lossless pixel conversion (LPC). Different from the previous RDHEI algorithms, LPC is inspired by the planar map coloring question, and it performs a dynamic image division process to divide the original image into irregular regions instead of regular blocks as in the previous RDHEI algorithms. In the process of LPC, pixe…
We propose a monospectral image encryption method in which the multispectral color image acquisition by using heterogeneous monospectral cameras. Because the captured monospectral elemental images (EIs) belongs to grayscale image, it is means that the captured EIs can be directly encrypted by the proposed encoding method. Subsequently, the linear cellular automata (CA) and hyperchaotic encoding algorithm are employed to encrypt the captured EIs. Different from previous methods, the proposed method can directly encrypt the multispectral color information rather than having to divide into three …

In recent years, with the development of cloud computing platforms, privacy-preserving methods for deep learning have become an urgent problem. NeuraCrypt is a private random neural network for privacy-preserving that allows data owners to encrypt the medical data before the data uploading, and data owners can train and then test their models in a cloud server with the encrypted data directly. However, we point out that the performance of NeuraCrypt is heavily degraded when using color images. In this paper, we propose a Color-NeuraCrypt to solve this problem. Experiment results show that our …
Digital watermarking is an effective way to protect copyright. In this paper, a robust watermarking algorithm based on wavelet transformation is proposed which can confirm the copyright without original image. The wavelet transformation technique is effective in image analyzing and processing. Thus the color-image watermark algorithm based on discrete wavelet transformation (DWT) begins to draw an increasing attention. In the proposed approach, the watermark Encrypt by Arnold transform and the host image is converted into the YCbCr color space. Then its Y channel decomposed into wavelet coeffi…
In this paper, chaotic block image permutation and XOR operation are performed to achieve image encryption. The studied method of encryption makes use of chaotic systems properties for secure and speed image encryption. Firstly, the original image is divided into blocks of equal size. Then, two chaotic maps are used to generate two key streams which are permuted among themselves to produce one key steam. The image blocks are then shuffled using part of key stream. Finally, scrambled image is diffused by XOR operation with the key stream to get the encrypted image. The experimental results of s…
