We study the s-wave I=2 πΣand I=1 KN interactions from 2+1 flavor full lattice QCD simulation for relatively heavy quark mass corresponding to m_π=700 MeV. The s-wave meson-baryon potentials are obtained from the Nambu-Bethe-Salpeter amplitudes. Potentials in both channels reveal short range repulsions, which suggest the importance of the Pauli blocking effect. The I=1 KN scattering phase shifts are calculated and compared with the existing experimental data.
We calculate a resummed equation of state with lattice QCD simulations at imaginary chemical potentials. This work presents a generalization of the scheme introduced in 2102.06660 to the case of non-zero $μ_S$, focusing on the line of strangeness neutrality. We present results up to $μ_B/T \leq 3.5$ on the strangeness neutral line $\left\langle S \right\rangle = 0$ in the temperature range $130 \rm{MeV} \leq T \leq 280 \rm{MeV}$. We also extrapolate the finite baryon density equation of state to small non-zero values of the strangeness-to-baryon ratio $R=\left\langle S \right\rangle / \left\la…
The scalar strangeness content of the nucleon, characterized by the so-called strangeness-nucleon sigma term, is of fundamental importance in understanding its sea-quark flavor structure. We report a determination of the octet baryon sigma terms via the Feynman-Hellmann theorem by analyzing the latest high-statistics $n_f=2+1$ lattice QCD simulations with covariant baryon chiral perturbation theory up to next-to-next-to-next-to-leading order. In particular, we predict $σ_{πN}=55(1)(4)$ MeV and $σ_{sN}=27(27)(4)$ MeV, while the first error is statistical and the second systematic due to differe…
We study the strangeness $S=-2$ baryon-baryon interactions in relativistic chiral effective field theory at leading order. Among the 15 relevant low energy constants, eight of them are determined by fitting to the state of the art lattice QCD data of the HAL QCD Collaboration (with $m_π=146$ MeV), and the rest are either taken from the study of the $S=-1$ hyperon-nucleon systems, assuming strict SU(3) flavor symmetry, or temporarily set equal to zero. Using the so-obtained low energy constants, we extrapolate the results to the physical point, and show that they are consistent with the availab…
We explore the interactions of two strangeness -3 baryons in multiple spin channels with lattice QCD. This system provides an ideal laboratory for exploring the interactions of multi-baryon systems with minimal dependence on light quark masses. Model calculations of the two-$Ω^-$ system in two previous works have obtained conflicting results, which can be resolved by lattice QCD. The lattice calculations are performed using two different volumes with $L\sim2.5$ and 3.9 fm on anisotropic clover lattices at $m_π\sim 390$ MeV with a lattice spacing of $a_s \sim 0.123$ fm in the spatial direction …
Using quenched lattice QCD simulations we investigate the continuum limit of baryon-strangeness correlation and other related conserved charge-flavour correlations for temperatures T_c<T\le2T_c. By working with lattices having large temporal extents (N_τ=12, 10, 8, 4) we find that these quantities are almost independent of the lattice spacing, i.e, robust. We also find that these quantities have very mild dependence on the sea quark mass and acquire values which are very close to their respective ideal gas limits. Our results also confirm robustness of the Wroblewski parameter.
We use a hadron resonance gas model to study the QCD phase diagram at nonzero temperature, baryon, isospin and strangeness chemical potentials. We determine the temperature of the transition from the hadronic phase to the quark gluon plasma phase using two different methods. We find that the critical temperatures derived in both methods are in very good agreement. We find that the critical surface has a small curvature. We also find that the critical temperature's dependence on the baryon chemical potential at zero isospin chemical potential is almost identical to its dependence on the isospin…
We study the weak-decay constants for the heavy pseudoscalar mesons, D, Ds, B, and Bs. For this purpose, we employ the extended nonlocal chiral-quark model (ExNLChQM), motivated by the heavy-quark effective field theory as well as the instanton-vacuum configuration. In addition to the heavy-quark symmetry and the nonlocal interactions between quarks and pseudoscalar mesons in ExNLChQM, a correction for the strange-quark content inside Ds and Bs is also taken into account and found to be crucial to reproduce the empirical values. From those numerical results, we obtain f_{D,Ds,B,Bs}=(207.53, 26…
We describe a calculation of the spectrum of strange and nonstrange hadrons that simultaneously correlates the dressed-quark-core masses of meson and baryon ground- and excited-states within a single framework. The foundation for this analysis is a symmetry-preserving Dyson-Schwinger equation treatment of a vector-vector contact interaction. Our results exemplify and highlight the deep impact of dynamical chiral symmetry breaking on the hadron spectrum: an accurate description of the meson spectrum entails a similarly successful prediction of the spectrum of baryons, including those with stran…
We proposed a unified framework to describe the interactions of the observed $T_{cc}$, $P_c$, and $P_{cs}$ within a quark level interaction in our previous work. In this work, we generalize our framework to the loosely bound hadronic molecules composed of heavy flavor di-hadrons with strangeness. We predict the possible $D^{(*)}D^{(*)}_s$ molecular states in the SU(3) limit with the masses of the $P_c$ states as the inputs. We also investigate the baryon-meson and baryon-baryon systems and consider the SU(3) breaking effect in their flavor wave functions. We generalize our isospin criterion of…
By using lattice QCD computations we determine the sigma terms and strangeness content of all octet baryons by means of an application of the Hellmann-Feynman theorem. In addition to polynomial and rational expressions for the quark mass dependence of octet members, we use SU(3) covariant baryon chiral perturbation theory to perform the extrapolation to the physical up and down quark masses. Our N_f=2+1 lattice ensembles include pion masses down to about 190 MeV in large volumes (M_πL > 4), and three values of the lattice spacing. Our main results are the nucleon sigma term σ_{πN} = 39(4)(^{+1…
We present results on baryon number, strangeness and electric charge fluctuations in QCD at non-zero density and temperature obtained from lattice calculations with almost physical quark masses. At vanishing chemical potential, i.e. under conditions almost realized at RHIC and the LHC, quartic fluctuations of net baryon number and strangeness are large in a narrow temperature interval characterizing the transition region from the low to the high temperature phase. Our results are based on Taylor expansions in light and strange quark chemical potentials, i.e. we rigorously compute corrections t…
We study the baryon-baryon interactions with strangeness $S = -2$ and corresponding momentum correlation functions in leading order covariant chiral effective field theory. The relevant low energy constants are determined by fitting to the latest HAL QCD simulations, taking into account all the coupled channels. Extrapolating the so-obtained strong interactions to the physical point and considering both quantum statistical effects and the Coulomb interaction, we calculate the $ΛΛ$ and $Ξ^-p$ correlation functions with a spherical Gaussian source and compare them with the recent experimental da…
We present our recent studies on hyperon-nucleon (YN) interactions in the strangeness S=-1 that $pΛ, Σ^0 p$ and $Σ^+ n$, by extracting corresponding potentials through Nambu-Bethe-Salpeter wave functions. We calculate $ΛN$ and $ΣN$ potentials in the isospin I=3/2 channel, using the $N_f=2+1$ gauge configurations generated by PACS-CS collaboration and employing an improved method to obtain potentials in lattice QCD simulations. For the $^1S_0$ channel, the central $ΣN (I=3/2, ^1S_0)$ potential and the central $ΛN (^1S_0)$ potential are found to be very similar. In the spin triplet ($^3S_1-^3D_1…
We investigate the mass spectrum of 1^{+} exotic mesons with quark content (\c\s\cbar\qbar) or (\c\q\cbar\sbar), using molecular and diquark-antidiquark operators, in quenched lattice QCD with exact chiral symmetry. For the molecular operator {(\qbarγ_i\c)(\cbarγ_5\s)-(\cbarγ_i\s)(\qbarγ_5\c)} and the diquark-antidiquark operator {(\q^T C γ_i \c)(\sbar C γ_5 \cbar^T)- (\q^T C γ_5 \c)(\sbar C γ_i^T \cbar^T)}, both detect a 1^{+} resonance with mass around 4010 +- 50 MeV in the limit m_q -> m_{u,d}.
We compute the strangeness content of the baryon octet and decuplet states based on an analysis of recent lattice simulations of the BMW, PACS, LHPC and HSC groups for the pion-mass dependence of the baryon masses. Our results rely on the relativistic chiral Lagrangian and large-$N_c$ sum rule estimates of the counter terms relevant for the baryon masses at N$^3$LO. A partial summation is implied by the use of physical baryon and meson masses in the one-loop contributions to the baryon self energies. A simultaneous description of the lattice results of the BMW, LHPC, PACS and HSC groups is ach…
Appropriate combinations of up to fourth order cumulants of net strangeness fluctuations and their correlations with net baryon number and electric charge fluctuations, obtained from lattice QCD calculations, have been used to probe the strangeness carrying degrees of freedom at high temperatures. For temperatures up to the chiral crossover separate contributions of strange mesons and baryons can be well described by an uncorrelated gas of hadrons. Such a description breaks down in the chiral crossover region, suggesting that the deconfinement of strangeness takes place at the chiral crossover…
The baryon-baryon interactions with strangeness S = -2 with the flavor SU(3) breaking are calculated for the first time by using the HAL QCD method extended to coupled channel system in lattice QCD. The potential matrices are extracted from the Nambu-Bethe-Salpeter wave functions obtained by the 2+1 flavor gauge configurations of CP-PACS/JLQCD Collaborations with a physical volume of 1.93 fm cubed and with m_pi/m_K = 0.96, 0.90, 0.86. The spatial structure and the quark mass dependence of the potential matrix in the baryon basis and in the SU(3) basis are investigated.
We present our recent results of baryon interactions with strangeness $S=-1$ based on Nambu-Bethe-Salpeter (NBS) correlation functions calculated from lattice QCD with almost physical quark masses corresponding to $(m_π,m_K)\approx(146,525)$ MeV and large volume $(La)^4=(96a)^4\approx$ (8.1 fm)$^4$. In order to perform a comprehensive study of baryon interactions, a large number of NBS correlation functions from NN to $ΞΞ$ are calculated simultaneously by using large scale computer resources. In this contribution, we focus on the strangeness $S=-1$ channels of the hyperon interactions by means…
We analyze baryon number, strangeness and electric charge fluctuations as well as their correlations in QCD at high temperature. We present results obtained from lattice calculations performed with an improved staggered fermion action (p4-action) at two values of the lattice cut-off with almost physical up and down quark masses and a physical value for the strange quark mass. We compare these results, with an ideal quark gas at high temperature and a hadron resonance gas model at low temperature. We find that fluctuations and correlations are well described by the former already for temperatur…
We present results on the second-order fluctuations of and correlations among net baryon number, electric charge and strangeness in (2+1)-flavor lattice QCD in the presence of a background magnetic field. Simulations are performed using the tree-level improved gauge action and the highly improved staggered quark (HISQ) action with a fixed scale approach ($a\simeq$ 0.117 fm). The light quark mass is set to be 1/10 of the physical strange quark mass and the corresponding pion mass is about 220 MeV at vanishing magnetic field. Simulations are performed on $32^3\times N_τ$ lattices with 9 values o…
A status report is given for a joint project of the Budapest-Marseille-Wuppertal collaboration and the Regensburg group to study the quark mass-dependence of octet baryons in SU(3) Baryon XPT. This formulation is expected to extend to larger masses than Heavy-Baryon XPT. Its applicability is tested with 2+1 flavor data which cover three lattice spacings and pion masses down to about 190 MeV, in large volumes. Also polynomial and rational interpolations in M_π^2 and M_K^2 are used to assess the uncertainty due to the ansatz. Both frameworks are combined to explore the precision to be expected i…
We revisit the classical relation between the strangeness content of the nucleon, the pion-nucleon sigma term and the $SU(3)_F$ breaking of the baryon masses in the context of Lorentz covariant chiral perturbation theory with explicit decuplet-baryon resonance fields. We find that a value of the pion-nucleon sigma term of $\sim$60 MeV is not necessarily at odds with a small strangeness content of the nucleon, in line with the fulfillment of the OZI rule. Moreover, this value is indeed favored by our next-to-leading order calculation. We compare our results with earlier ones and discuss the con…
Higher order net-baryon number cumulants and baryon-strangeness correlations: Comparing QCD results on thepseudo-critical line with RHIC-BES II results on the freeze-out line
研究通过比较 QCD 和 RHIC-BES II 数据,发现高阶累积量在低能下无临界点迹象,且重子-strangeness 相关性在低能下存在偏差,强调了未观测到的 strange 共振子的作用。
We review the quark-mass dependence of the baryon octet and decuplet masses as obtained from recent lattice simulations of the BMW, PACS-CS, LHPC, HSC and QCDSF-UKQCD groups. Our discussion relies on the relativistic chiral Lagrangian and large-$N_c$ sum rule estimates of the counter terms relevant for the baryon masses at N$^3$LO. A partial summation is implied by the use of physical baryon and meson masses in the one-loop contributions to the baryon self energies. In our analysis the physical masses are reproduced exactly by means of a suitable set of linear constraints. A quantitative and s…
We use up to fourth order cumulants of net strangeness fluctuations and their correlations with net baryon number fluctuations to extract information on the strange meson and baryon contribution to the low temperature hadron resonance gas, the dissolution of strange hadronic states in the crossover region of the QCD transition and the quasi-particle nature of strange quark contributions to the high temperature quark-gluon plasma phase.
We present results on bulk thermodynamic quantities as well as net baryon number, strangeness and electric charge fluctuations in QCD at non-zero density and temperature obtained from lattice calculations with almost physical quark masses for two values of the lattice cut-off $aT=1/4$ and 1/6 . We show that with our improved p4fa3-action the cut-off effects are under control when using lattices with a temporal extent of 6 or larger and that the contribution to the equation of state, which is due to a finite chemical potential is small for $μ_q/T<1$. Moreover, at vanishing chemical potential, i…
We calculate the quadratic fluctuations of net baryon number, electric charge and strangeness as well as correlations among these conserved charges in (2+1)-flavor lattice QCD at zero chemical potential. Results are obtained using calculations with tree level improved gauge and the highly improved staggered quark (HISQ) actions with almost physical light and strange quark masses at three different values of the lattice cut-off. Our choice of parameters corresponds to a value of 160 MeV for the lightest pseudo scalar Goldstone mass and a physical value of the kaon mass. The three diagonal charg…
An approach to realize a hyperon as a bound-state of a two-flavor baryon and a kaon is considered in the context of the Sakai-Sugimoto model of holographic QCD, which approach has been known in the Skyrme model as the bound-state approach to strangeness. As a simple case of study, pseudo-scalar kaon is considered as fluctuation around a baryon. In this case, strongly-bound hyperon-states are absent, different from the case of the Skyrme model. Observed is a weak bound-state which would correspond to Λ(1405).
