We review the corrections to the NuTeV determination of sin2 qW, concluding that it is no longer appropriate to present it as an "anomaly". Indeed, when well understood corrections associated with charge symmetry violation and the iso-vector nuclear force are properly included, the measurement is completely consistent with the Standard Model.
The determinations of the Cabibbo angle from kaon, pion, $D$ and tau decays disagree with the one from super-allowed beta decays. The resulting $\approx 3\,σ$ deficit in first row (but also first column) CKM unitarity is known as the Cabibbo angle anomaly (CAA). Determining $V_{ud}$ from beta decays requires knowledge of the Fermi constant $G_F$, usually extracted from muon decay. However, because new physics might also affect muon decay, and thus the determination of the Fermi constant, an interesting interplay with the global electroweak fit arises where $G_F$ is a crucial input. In these pr…
We report a high-precision calculation of the Standard Model electroweak radiative corrections in the $K\to πe^+ν(γ)$ decay as a part of the combined theory effort to understand the existing anomaly in the determinations of $V_{us}$. Our new analysis features a chiral resummation of the large infrared-singular terms in the radiative corrections and a well-under-control strong interaction uncertainty based on the most recent lattice QCD inputs. While being consistent with the current state-of-the-art results obtained from chiral perturbation theory, we reduce the existing theory uncertainty fro…

Precision measurement of $σ(e^+e^-\rightarrowπ^+π^-γ)/σ(e^+e^-\rightarrow μ^+μ^-γ)$ and determination of the $π^+π^-$ contribution to the muon anomaly with the KLOE detector
The 4.2$σ$ discrepancy between the standard model prediction for the muon anomalous magnetic moment $a_μ$ and the experimental result is accompanied by other anomalies. A crucial input for the prediction is the hadronic vacuum polarization $a_μ^{\rm HVP}$ inferred from $σ_{\rm had} =σ(e^+e^- \to\,$hadrons) data. However, the two most accurate determinations of $σ_{\rm had}$ from KLOE and BaBar disagree by almost 3$\,σ$. Additionally, the combined data-driven result disagrees with the most precise lattice determination of $a_μ^{\rm HVP}$ by $2.1\,σ$. We show that all these discrepancies could b…
We describe the Adler function in Quantum Chromodynamics using a transseries representation within a resurgent framework. The approach is based on a Borel-Ecalle resummation of the infrared renormalons combined with an effective running for the strong coupling. The new approach is flexible enough to give values in agreement with the current Adler function determinations. We then apply our finding to the muon's anomalous magnetic moment studying the possibility of saturating, solely in terms of the vacuum polarization function, the current discrepancy between the best Standard Model value for t…
Significant discrepancies between the different determinations of the Cabibbo angle have been observed. Here, we point out that this "Cabibbo-angle anomaly" can be explained by lepton flavour universality (LFU) violating New Physics (NP) in the neutrino sector. However, modified neutrino couplings to Standard Model gauge bosons also affect many other observables sensitive to LFU violation, which have to be taken into account in order to assess the viability of this explanation. Therefore, we perform a model-independent Bayesian global analysis and find that non-zero modifications of electron a…
Scalars that carry lepton number can help mediate would-be lepton-number-violating processes, such as neutrinoless double $β$ decay or lepton-scattering-mediated nucleon-antinucleon conversion. Here we show that such new scalars can also solve the anomaly in precision determinations of the fine-structure constant $α$ from atom interferometry and from the electron's anomalous magnetic moment, $a_e \equiv (g-2)_e/2$, by reducing $|a_e|$. Study of the phenomenological constraints on these solutions favor a doubly-charged scalar with mass below the GeV scale. Significant constraints arise from the…
The recent confirmation by the Fermilab-based Muon g-2 experiment of the $(g-2)_μ$ anomaly has important implications for allowed particle spectra in softly broken supersymmetry (SUSY) models with neutralino dark matter (DM). Generally, the DM has to be quite light, with the mass up to a few hundred GeV, and bino-dominated if it is to provide most of DM in the Universe. Otherwise, a higgsino or wino dominated DM is also allowed but only as a strongly subdominant component of at most a few percent of the total density. These general patterns can easily be found in the phenomenological models of…
Recently, discrepancies of up to $4\,σ$ between the different determinations of the Cabibbo angle were observed. This "Cabibbo-angle anomaly" could be explained by lepton flavour universality (LFU) violating New Physics (NP) in the neutrino sector. However, modified neutrino couplings to Standard Model gauge bosons also affect many other observables sensitive to LFU violation which have to be taken into account in order to assess the viability of this explanation. Therefore, we perform a model-independent global analysis in a Bayesian approach and find that the tension in the Cabibbo angle is …
Motivated by the recently reported anomaly in W boson mass by the CDF collaboration with $7σ$ statistical significance, we consider a singlet-doublet (SD) Majorana fermion dark matter (DM) model where the required correction to W boson mass arises from radiative corrections induced by SD fermions. While a single generation of SD fermions, odd under an unbroken $Z_2$ symmetry, can not explain the W boson mass anomaly while being consistent with DM phenomenology, two generations of SD fermions can do so with the heavier generation playing the dominant role in W-mass correction and lighter genera…
