Spin-Dependent Antenna Splitting Functions

We consider parton showers based on radiation from QCD dipoles or `antennae'. These showers are built from 2->3 parton splitting processes. The question then arises of what functions replace the Altarelli-Parisi splitting functions in this approach. We give a detailed answer to this question, applicable to antenna showers in which partons carry definite helicity, and to both initial- and final-state emissions.

NLO Antenna Subtraction with Massive Fermions

We present an extension of the antenna subtraction formalism at NLO to include massive final state fermions. The basic ingredients to the subtraction terms, the NLO massive final-final antenna functions are derived and integrated over the corresponding factorised phase space. Those antenna functions account for all soft, collinear and quasi-collinear limits of the QCD matrix elements involving massive fermions in the final state.

Quark-antiquark antenna splitting in a medium

We study a system in which a quark-antiquark antenna emits a hard gluon in a medium, and an extra very soft emission afterwards. Considering the coherence effects in terms of the survival probability, we can describe the interaction of the $q\bar{q}g$ configuration with the medium. We extrapolate previous analyzes of the antenna radiation to the case of two hard splittings inside the medium, and prove that this generalization keeps back the picture of jet quenching with effective emitters in the parton QCD cascade.

Antenna subtraction with massive fermions at NNLO: Double real initial-final configurations

We derive the integrated forms of specific initial-final tree-level four-parton antenna functions involving a massless initial-state parton and a massive final-state fermion as hard radiators. These antennae are needed in the subtraction terms required to evaluate the double real corrections to $t\bar{t}$ hadronic production at the NNLO level stemming from the partonic processes $q\bar{q}\to t\bar{t}q'\bar{q}'$ and $gg\to t\bar{t}q\bar{q}$.

Coherence effects and broadening in medium-induced QCD radiation off a massive $q {\bar q}$ antenna

Studies of medium-induced QCD radiation usually rely on the calculation of single-gluon radiation spectrum off an energetic parton traversing an extended colored medium. Recently, the importance of interference effects between emitters in the medium has been explored. In this work we extend previous studies by calculating the single-gluon coherent spectrum off an antenna consisting of a massive quark-antiquark pair. Timelike Dipole-Antenna Showers with Massive Fermions

We present a complete formalism for final-state (timelike) dipole-antenna showers including fermion masses, but neglecting polarization and finite-width effects. We make several comparisons of tree-level expansions of this shower algorithm to fixed-order matrix elements for hadronic Z decays, up to and including Z to 6 partons, to which the algorithm can be consistently matched over all of phase space. Final-state QED Multipole Radiation in Antenna Parton Showers

We present a formalism for a fully coherent QED parton shower. The complete multipole structure of photonic radiation is incorporated in a single branching kernel. The regular on-shell 2 to 3 kinematic picture is kept intact by dividing the radiative phase space into sectors, allowing for a definition of the ordering variable that is similar to QCD antenna showers.
