If the dark matter particle is a Majorana fermion, annihilations into two fermions and one gauge boson could have, for some choices of the parameters of the model, a non-negligible cross-section. Using a toy model of leptophilic dark matter, we calculate the constraints on the annihilation cross-section into two electrons and one weak gauge boson from the PAMELA measurements of the cosmic antiproton-to-proton flux ratio. Furthermore, we calculate the maximal astrophysical boost factor allowed in the Milky Way under the assumption that the leptophilic dark matter particle is the dominant component of dark matter in our Universe. These constraints constitute very conservative estimates on the boost factor for more realistic models where the dark matter particle also couples to quarks and weak gauge bosons, such as the lightest neutralino which we also analyze for some concrete benchmark points. The limits on the astrophysical boost factors presented here could be used to evaluate the prospects to detect a gamma-ray signal from dark matter annihilations at currently operating IACTs as well as in the projected CTA.
We study the cosmic ray antiprotons with updated constraints on the propagation, proton injection, and solar modulation parameters based on the newest AMS-02 data near the Earth and Voyager data in the local interstellar space, and on the cross section of antiproton production due to proton-proton collisions based on new collider data. We use a Bayesian approach to properly consider the uncertainties of the model predictions of both the background and the dark matter (DM) annihilation components of antiprotons. We find that including an extra component of antiprotons from the annihilation of D…
In this talk, we discuss the physics modeling of antiproton spectra arising from dark matter (DM) annihilation or decay in a model-independent manner. The modeling of antiproton spectra contains some intrinsic uncertainties related to QCD parton showers and hadronisation of baryons. We briefly assess the sources of these uncertainties and their impact on antiproton energy spectra for a few selected DM scenarios. The results are provided in tabulated form for future analyses.
Dark matter annihilation to leptons, $χχ\rightarrow l \bar{l}$, is necessarily accompanied by electroweak radiative corrections, in which a W or Z boson is radiated from a final state particle. Given that the W and Z gauge bosons decay dominantly via hadronic channels, it is thus impossible to produce final state leptons without accompanying protons, antiprotons, and gamma rays. Significantly, while many dark matter models feature a helicity suppressed annihilation rate to fermions, radiating a massive gauge boson from a final state fermion removes this helicity suppression, such that the bran…
We revisit the calculation of electroweak bremsstrahlung contributions to dark matter annihilation. Dark matter annihilation to leptons is necessarily accompanied by electroweak radiative corrections, in which a $W$ or $Z$ boson is also radiated. Significantly, while many dark matter models feature a helicity suppressed annihilation rate to fermions, bremsstrahlung process can remove this helicity suppression such that the branching ratios Br($\ell νW $), Br($\ell^+\ell^-Z$), and Br($\barννZ$) dominate over Br($\ell^+\ell^-$) and Br($\barνν$). We find this is most significant in the limit wher…
A possible hint of dark matter annihilation has been found in Cuoco, Korsmeier and Krämer (2017) from an analysis of recent cosmic-ray antiproton data from AMS-02 and taking into account cosmic-ray propagation uncertainties by fitting at the same time dark matter and propagation parameters. Here, we extend this analysis to a wider class of annihilation channels. We find consistent hints of a dark matter signal with an annihilation cross-section close to the thermal value and with masses in range between 40 and 130 GeV depending on the annihilation channel. Furthermore, we investigate in how fa…
We examine observational signatures of dark matter annihilation in the Milky Way arising from electroweak bremsstrahlung contributions to the annihilation cross section. It has been known for some time that photon bremsstrahlung may significantly boost DM annihilation yields. Recently, we have shown that electroweak bremsstrahlung of W and Z gauge bosons can be the dominant annihilation channel in some popular models with helicity-suppressed 2 --> 2 annihilation. W/Z-bremsstrahlung is particularly interesting because the gauge bosons produced via annihilation subsequently decay to produce larg…
We consider dark matter annihilation into a general set of final states of Standard Model particles, including two-body and four-body final states that result from the decay of intermediate states. For dark matter masses ~10-10^5 GeV, we use updated data from Planck and from high gamma-ray experiments such as Fermi-LAT, MAGIC, and VERITAS to constrain the annihilation cross section for each final state. The Planck constraints are the most stringent over the entire mass range for annihilation into light leptons, and the Fermi-LAT constraints are the most stringent for four-body final states up …
Using the latest AMS-02 cosmic ray antiproton flux data, we search for potential dark matter annihilation signal. The background parameters about the propagation, source injection, and solar modulation are not assumed {\it a priori}, but based on the results inferred from the recent B/C ratio and proton data measurements instead. The possible dark matter signal is incorporated into the model self-consistently under a Bayesian framework. Compared with the astrophysical background only hypothesis, we find that a dark matter signal is favored. The rest mass of the dark matter particles is $\sim 2…
The annihilation of antiprotons on deuterons at rest are investigated for the case when pion-nucleon and pion-delta-isobar pairs are produced. The two-step mechanism is investigated by analysing these processes when either neutral particles and charged ones are produced. Some predictions for the branching ratios are presented.
The annihilation of proton and antiproton to electron-positron pair, including radiative corrections due to the emission of virtual and real photons is considered. The results are generalized to leading and next-to leading approximations. The relevant distributions are derived and numerical applications are given in the kinematical range accessible to the PANDA experiment at the FAIR facility.
We estimate the flux of cosmic-ray antiprotons expected from the annihilation of neutralinos in the galactic halo. The antiproton signal may offer an important alternative detection scheme in the case that neutralino annihilation proceeds mainly to the two-gluon final state.
The pentaquark component is included in the proton wave functions to study phi meson production proton-antiproton annihilation reactions. With all possible configurations of the uuds subsystem proposed for describing the strangeness spin and magnetic moment of the proton, we estimate the branching ratios of the annihilation reactions at rest proton-antiproton to phi + X (X=pi, eta, rho, omega) from atomic proton-antiproton S- and P-wave states by using effective quark line diagrams incorporating the 3P0 model. The best agreement of theoretical prediction with the experimental data is found whe…
The associated production of a $J/ψ$ and a $π$-meson in antiproton-nucleon annihilation is studied in the framework of QCD collinear factorization. In this approach, a hard subprocess responsible for the production of the heavy quark-antiquark pair factorizes from soft hadronic matrix elements, such as the antiproton (nucleon) distribution amplitude and the nucleon-to-pion (antiproton-to-pion) transition distribution amplitude. This reaction mechanism should dominate the forward and backward kinematical regions, where the cross sections are expected to be measurable in the set-up of the PANDA …
Bremsstrahlung of $W$ and $Z$ gauge bosons, or photons, can be an important dark matter annihilation channel. In many popular models in which the annihilation to a pair of light fermions is helicity suppressed, these bremsstrahlung processes can lift the suppression and thus become the dominant annihilation channels. The resulting dark matter annihilation products contain a large, energetic, neutrino component. We consider solar WIMP annihilation in the case where electroweak bremsstrahlung dominates, and calculate the resulting neutrino spectra. The flux consists of primary neutrinos produced…
The nonrelativistic annihilation of Majorana dark matter in the Sun to a pair of light fermions is chirality-suppressed. Annihilation to 3-body final states $\ell^+f^-V$, where $V=W,Z,γ$, and $\ell$ and $f$ are light fermions (that may be the same), becomes dominant since bremsstrahlung relaxes the chirality suppression. We evaluate the neutrino spectra at the source, including spin and helicity dependent effects, and assess the detectability of each significant bremsstrahlung channel at IceCube/DeepCore. We also show how to combine the sensitivities to the dark matter-nucleon scattering cross…
Cosmic rays are an important tool to study dark matter annihilation in our Galaxy. Recently, a possible hint for dark matter annihilation was found in the antiproton spectrum measured by AMS-02, even though the result might be affected by theoretical uncertainties. A complementary way to test its dark matter interpretation would be the observation of low-energy antinuclei in cosmic rays. We determine the chances to observe antideuterons with GAPS and AMS-02, and the implications for the ongoing AMS-02 antihelium searches. We find that the corresponding antideuteron signal is within the GAPS an…
We use classical or large Nc QCD to describe the mesons (pion, rho, omega) coming from proton-antiproton annihilation at rest as classical fields, which we then quantize as coherent states. This treatment gives a nearly parameter free account of the pion branching ratios in annihilation.
The first measurement on the antiproton to proton ratio made by the AMS-02 collaboration agrees with the expection from conventional cosmic-ray secondaries in the kinetic energy range $\sim 10-100$ GeV, which can be turned into stringent upper limits on the dark matter (DM) annihilation cross sections above $\sim 300$ GeV. Using the GALPROP code, we derive the upper limits in various propagation models and DM profiles. We show that in the "conventional" propagation model, for the $q\bar q$, $b\bar b$, and $WW$ final states, the constraints can be more stringent than that derived from the recen…
We discuss techniques for obtaining a numerically-stable evaluation of the fully differential cross section for the virtual photon correction to single hard photon bremsstrahlung in two different computational schemes. We also compare the role of finite mass corrections in these schemes.
Annihilation process of proton and antiproton to guark antiquark pair accompanied by emission of two additional gluon jets with intermediate state of vector meson is considered.Strong azimuthal correlation is revealed of two gluonic jets, effectively created in the same plane. Some applications to cosmic ray events and to LHC experiments are discussed.
Indirect searches for the cosmological dark matter have become ever more competitive during the past years. Here, we report the first full calculation of leading electroweak corrections to the annihilation rate of supersymmetric neutralino dark matter. We find that these corrections can be huge, partially due to contributions that have been overlooked so far. Our results imply a significantly enhanced discovery potential of this well motivated dark matter candidate with current and upcoming cosmic ray experiments, in particular for gamma rays and models with somewhat small annihilation rates a…
Previous analytical formulas in the Glauber model for high-energy nucleus-nucleus collisions developed by Wong are utilized and extended to study antiproton-nucleus annihilations for both high and low energies, after taking into account the effects of Coulomb and nuclear interactions, and the change of the antiproton momentum inside a nucleus. The extended analytical formulas capture the main features of the experimental antiproton-nucleus annihilation cross sections for all energies and mass numbers. At high antiproton energies, they exhibit the granular property for the lightest nuclei and t…

The interpretation of data from indirect detection experiments searching for dark matter annihilations requires computationally expensive simulations of cosmic-ray propagation. In this work we present a new method based on Recurrent Neural Networks that significantly accelerates simulations of secondary and dark matter Galactic cosmic ray antiprotons while achieving excellent accuracy. This approach allows for an efficient profiling or marginalisation over the nuisance parameters of a cosmic ray propagation model in order to perform parameter scans for a wide range of dark matter models. We id…
Some direct detection experiments have recently collected excess events that could be interpreted as a dark matter (DM) signal, pointing to particles in the $\sim$10 GeV mass range. We show that scenarios in which DM can self-annihilate with significant couplings to quarks are likely excluded by the cosmic-ray (CR) antiproton data, provided the annihilation is S-wave dominated when DM decouples in the early universe. These limits apply to most of supersymmetric candidates, eg in the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) and in the next-to-MSSM (NMSSM), and more generally to any thermal …
The latest years have seen steady progresses in WIMP dark matter (DM) searches, with hints of possible signals suggested by both direct and indirect detection experiments. Antiprotons can play a key role validating those interpretations since they are copiously produced by WIMP annihilations in the Galactic halo, and the secondary antiproton background produced by Cosmic Ray (CR) interactions is predicted with fair accuracy and matches the observed spectrum very well. Using the publicly available numerical DRAGON code, we reconsider antiprotons as a tool to constrain DM models discussing its p…
We investigate the effects of electroweak bremsstrahlung on bino-like neutralino dark matter pair annihilations in the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM). We calculate the nonrelativistic pair annihilation cross sections via $W$-strahlung from leptonic final states, $χχ$ $\to$ $W\ell\barν$, and compare them with the contributions of the relevant two-body final states. We explore the case that sleptons lie below the TeV scale, while squarks are extremely heavy. It is found that the electroweak bremsstrahlung can give a dominant contribution to the cross section for some parameter regi…
Exclusive proton-antiproton annihilation into two photons can be viewed as the Compton process in the crossed channel. At large s (~10 GeV^2) and |t|,|u| s this process can be described by a generalized partonic picture, analogous to the 'soft mechanism' in wide-angle real Compton scattering. The two photons are emitted in the annihilation of a single fast quark and antiquark ('handbag graph'). The transition of the p-pbar system to a q-qbar pair through soft interactions is described by double distributions, which can be related to the timelike proton elastic form factors as well as, by cross…
We present comparisons of the fully differential exact virtual correction to the important single hard bremsstrahlung process in e+e- annihilation at high energies, which is essential for precision studies of the Standard Model from 1 GeV to 1 TeV, as calculated by two completely independent methods and groups. We show that the two sets of results are in excellent agreement. Phenomenological implications are discussed.
Antiproton--proton annihilation into light neutral mesons in the few GeV energy domain is investigated in view of a global description of the existing data and predictions for future experiments at PANDA, FAIR. An effective meson model earlier developed, with mesonic and baryonic degrees of freedom in $s$, $t$, and $u$ channels, is applied here to $π^0π^0$ production. Form factors with logarithmic $s$ and $t(u)$ dependencies are applied. A fair agreement with the existing angular distributions is obtained. Applying SU(3) symmetry, it is straightforward to recover the angular distributions for …
If the Dark Matter is the neutral Majorana component of a multiplet which is charged under the electroweak interactions of the Standard Model, its main annihilation channel is into W+W-, while the annihilation into light fermions is helicity suppressed. As pointed out recently, the radiation of gauge bosons from the initial state of the annihilation lifts the suppression and opens up an s-wave contribution to the cross section. We perform the full tree-level calculation of Dark Matter annihilations, including electroweak bremsstrahlung, in the context of an explicit model corresponding to the …
Antiproton--proton annihilation into light mesons is revisited in the few GeV energy domain, in view of a global description of the existing data. An effective meson model is developed, with mesonic and baryonic degrees od freedom in $s$, $t$, and $u$ channels. Regge factors are added to reproduce the proper energy behavior and the forward and backward peaked behavior. A comparison with existing data and predictions for angular distributions and energy dependence are done for charged and neutral pion pair production.
A sharp and spatially extended peak in an astrophysical gamma ray spectrum would provide very strong evidence for the existence of dark matter (DM), given that there are no known astrophysical processes that could mimic such a signal. From the particle physics perspective, perhaps the simplest explanation for a gamma ray peak is internal bremsstrahlung in DM annihilation through a charged t-channel mediator eta close in mass to the DM particle chi. Since DM annihilation to quarks is already tightly constrained in this scenario, we focus here on the leptophilic case. We compute the electromagne…
We report the main results of a paper where recent data of low-energy cosmic-ray $\bar p$ spectrum have been analyzed in terms of newly calculated fluxes for secondary antiprotons and for a possible contribution of an exotic signal due to neutralino annihilation in the galactic halo. We also present the results of a paper in which we have proved that a sizeable fraction of the supersymmetric neutralino configurations, singled out by the DAMA/NaI data on a possible annual modulation effect in WIMP direct search, may provide detectable cosmic-ray antiproton signals.
For Majorana dark matter, gauge boson bremsstrahlung plays an important role in enhancing an otherwise helicity-suppressed s-wave annihilation cross-section. This is well known for processes involving a radiated photon or gluon together with a Standard Model fermion-antifermion pair, and the case of massive electroweak gauge bosons has also recently been studied. Here we show that internal Higgs bremsstrahlung also lifts helicity suppression and could be the dominant contribution to the annihilation rate in the late Universe for dark matter masses below ~1 TeV. Using a toy model of leptophilic…
We analyze the data of low-energy cosmic-ray antiproton spectrum, recently published by the BESS Collaboration, in terms of newly calculated fluxes for secondary antiprotons and for a possible contribution of an exotic signal due to neutralino annihilation in the galactic halo. We single out the relevant supersymmetric configurations and discuss their explorability with experiments of direct search for particle dark matter and at accelerators. We discuss how future measurements with the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer (AMS) on the Shuttle flight may disentangle the possible neutralino-induced cont…
We have compared the virtual corrections to electron-positron annihilation to fermion pairs with single hard bremsstrahlung as calculated by S. Jadach, M. Melles, B.F.L. Ward and S.A. Yost to several other expressions. The most recent of these comparisons is to the leptonic tensor calculated by J.H. Kuhn and G. Rodrigo for radiative return. Agreement is found to within $10^{-5}$ or better, as a fraction of the Born cross section.
Lattice QCD and other theoretical models predict that the 0(-+), 2(++) and 2(-+) glueballs have masses in the range of 2.0 to 2.4 GeV. For resonances in such an energy range, three-body decay modes are expected to be large. The strategy for looking for these glueballs and the newest results from studying Crystal Barrel data on the three-body annihilation of proton-antiproton in flight are presented.
Observations of cosmic rays are a sensitive probe of dark matter annihilation in our Galaxy. In this article we present an analysis of the AMS-02 antiproton data, reducing cosmic-ray propagation uncertainties by fitting at the same time dark matter and propagation parameters. The result exhibits a possible hint for dark matter pointing to an annihilation cross section close to the thermal value. We investigate the compatibility of this signal with a dark matter interpretation of the Galactic center excess seen in the Fermi-LAT gamma-ray data and discuss implications for dark matter models.
We consider scenarios in which the annihilation of self-conjugate spin-1 dark matter to a Standard Model fermion-antifermion final state is chirality suppressed, but where this suppression can be lifted by the emission of an additional photon via internal bremsstrahlung. We find that this scenario can only arise if the initial dark matter state is polarized, which can occur in the context of self-interacting dark matter. In particular, this is possible if the dark matter pair forms a bound state that decays to its ground state before the constituents annihilate. We show that the shape of the r…
We present the complete electroweak one-loop corrections to top-pair production at a linear e^+e^- collider in the continuum region. Besides weak and photonic virtual corrections, real hard bremsstrahlung with simple realistic kinematical cuts is included. For the bremsstrahlung we advocate a semi-analytical approach with a high numerical accuracy. The virtual corrections are parametrized through six independent form factors, suitable for Monte-Carlo implementation. Alternatively, our numerical package topfit, a stand-alone code, can be utilized for the calculation of both differential and int…
The $Δ$-excitation in $\overline{p}d$ annihilation at rest was studied. The annihilation amplitude from the statistical model and the $πN$ amplitude from the resonance model were adopted in our calculations. We analyze the invariant mass of the $π^+p$ and $π^-p$ systems selecting the protons with momenta above 400 MeV/c and with respect to the different final reaction channels. Our model reproduces reasonably the experimental data.
The existence of antimatter domains in baryon asymmetrical Universe can appear as the cosmological consequence of particle theory in inflationary models with non-homogeneous baryosynthesis. Such a domain can survive in the early Universe and form globular cluster of antimatter stars in our Galaxy. The model of antimatter pollution of Galaxy and annihilation with matter gas is developed. The proton-antiproton annihilation gamma flux is shown to reproduce the observed galactic gamma background measured by EGRET. From comparison with observational data the estimation on the maximally allowed amou…
Radiative corrections to the annihilation of proton--antiproton into electron--positron are revisited, including virtual and real (soft and hard) photon emission. This issue is relevant for the time-like form factors measurements planned at the PANDA experiment at the FAIR facility, in next future. The relevant formulas are given. A stand-alone Monte-Carlo integrator is developed on the basis of the calculated radiative cross section and its application to the PANDA experiment is illustrated.
Cosmic-ray antiprotons represent an important channel for dark matter indirect-detection studies. Current measurements of the antiproton flux at the top of the atmosphere and theoretical determinations of the secondary antiproton production in the Galaxy are in good agreement, with no manifest deviation which could point to an exotic contribution in this channel. Therefore, antiprotons can be used as a powerful tool for constraining particle dark matter properties. By using the spectrum of PAMELA data from 50 MV to 180 GV in rigidity, we derive bounds on the dark matter annihilation cross sect…
We evaluate dark matter (DM) limits from cosmic-ray antiproton observations using the recent precise AMS-02 measurements. We properly take into account cosmic-ray propagation uncertainties fitting at the same time DM and propagation parameters, and marginalizing over the latter. We find a significant (~4.5 sigma) indication of a DM signal for DM masses near 80 GeV, with a hadronic annihilation cross-section close to the thermal value, sigma v ~3e-26 cm3s-1. Intriguingly, this signal is compatible with the DM interpretation of the Galactic center gamma-ray excess. Confirmation of the signal wil…
We present a geometric interpretation of the so-called annihilation range in reactions of the type $\bar pp \to$ {\em two light mesons} based upon Lorentz effects in the highly relativistic final states ($γ=E_{\mathrm{cm}}/2mc^2\simeq 6.8-8.0$). Lorentz-boosted meson wave functions, within the framework of the constituent quark model, result in a richer angular dependence of the annihilation amplitudes and thus in higher partial wave contributions ($J>1$) than usually obtained. This approach sheds some light on what could be a "{\em short}" annihilation range and how it is influenced by the an…
We study the production of charmed mesons (D, D_s) in antiproton-proton annihilation close to the reaction thresholds. The elementary charm production process is described by baryon exchange and in the constituent quark model, respectively. Effects of the interactions in the initial and final states are taken into account rigorously. The calculations are performed in close analogy to our earlier study on pbarp to KbarK by connecting the processes via SU(4) flavor symmetry. Our predictions for the DDbar production cross section are in the order of 10^{-2} -- 10^{-1} mu b. They turned out to be …
Cosmic-ray observations provide a powerful probe of dark matter annihilation in the Galaxy. In this paper we derive constraints on heavy dark matter from the recent precise AMS-02 antiproton data. We consider all possible annihilation channels into pairs of standard model particles. Furthermore, we interpret our results in the context of minimal dark matter, including higgsino, wino and quintuplet dark matter. We compare the cosmic-ray antiproton limits to limits from $γ$-ray observations of dwarf spheroidal galaxies and to limits from $γ$-ray and $γ$-line observations towards the Galactic cen…
Energetic antiprotons in cosmic rays can serve as an important indirect signature of dark matter. Conventionally, the antiproton flux from dark matter decays or annihilations is calculated by solving the transport equation with a space-independent diffusion coefficient within the diffusion zone of the galaxy, and assuming free propagation outside this zone. Antiproton sources outside of the diffusion zone are ignored. In reality, it is far more likely that the diffusion coefficient increases smoothly with distance from the disk, and the outlying part of the dark matter halo ignored in the conv…
The pion multiplicity distribution is widely believed to reflect the statistical aspects of $\bar{p}p$ annihilation at rest. We try to reproduce it in a grand canonical picture with explicit conservation of electric charge, isospin, total angular momentum, and the parity quantum numbers $P$, $C$, and $G$ via the projection operator formalism. Bose statistics is found to be non-negligible, particularly in fixing the interaction volume. The calculated pion multiplicity distribution for $\left\langle n_π \right\rangle = 5$ turns out to depend strongly on the conservation of the angular momentum a…
The CoGeNT experiment, dedicated to direct detection of dark matter, has recently released excess events that could be interpreted as elastic collisions of $\sim$10 GeV dark matter particles, which might simultaneously explain the still mysterious DAMA/LIBRA modulation signals, while in conflict with results from other experiments such as CDMS, XENON-100 and SIMPLE. It was shown that 5-15 GeV singlino-like dark matter candidates arising in singlet extensions of minimal supersymmetric scenarios can fit these data; annihilation then mostly proceeds into light singlet-dominated Higgs (pseudo)scal…
We extend previous calculations of polarization observables for the annihilation reaction $\bar p +p\to \ell^{-}+\ell^{+}$ to the case of heavy leptons, such as the $τ$-lepton. We consider the case when the beam and/or the target are polarized, as well as the polarization of the outgoing leptons. We give the dependence of the unpolarized cross section, angular asymmetry, and various polarization observables on the relevant kinematical variables in the center of mass and in the laboratory system, with particular attention to the effect of the mass induced terms.
Based on 4 yr AMS-02 antiproton data, we present bounds on the dark matter (DM) annihilation cross section vs. mass for some representative final state channels. We use recent cosmic-ray propagation models, a realistic treatment of experimental and theoretical errors, and an updated calculation of input antiproton spectra based on a recent release of the PYTHIA code. We find that reported hints of a DM signal are statistically insignificant; an adequate treatment of errors is crucial for credible conclusions. Antiproton bounds on DM annihilation are among the most stringent ones, probing therm…
Quark model intrinsic wave functions of highly energetic pions in the reaction \bar pp->π^-π^+ are subjected to a relativistic treatment. The annihilation is described in a constituent quark model with A2 and R2 flavor-flux topology and the annihilated quark-antiquark pairs are in 3P_0 and 3S_1 states. We study the effects of pure Lorentz transformations on the antiquark and quark spatial wave functions and their respective spinors in the pion. The modified quark geometry of the pion has considerable impact on the angular dependence of the annihilation mechanisms.
The two messenger results of the GeV gamma-ray excess at the Galactic center and a probable antiproton excess in the recent AMS-02 observation suggest that these two anomalies may be owing to the same origin --- the dark matter (DM) annihilation into $b \bar b$, while these results seem in tension with the dwarf spheroidal galaxy observations. To give a compatible explanation about it, we consider the pseudoscalar DM particles $S_d^+ S_d^-$ annihilating via $S_d^+ S_d^- \rightarrow S_d^0 S_d^0$, with the process mediated by a new scalar $ϕ$ and $S_d^0$ quickly decaying into $b \bar{b}$. For th…
We investigate the prospects to observe a high energy neutrino signal from dark matter annihilations in the Sun in scenarios where the dark matter is a Majorana fermion that couples to a quark and a colored scalar via a Yukawa coupling. In this minimal scenario, the dark matter capture and annihilation in the Sun can be studied in a single framework. We find that, for small and moderate mass splitting between the dark matter and the colored scalar, the two-to-three annihilation $q \bar q g$ plays a central role in the calculation of the number of captured dark matter particles. On the other ha…
