The CMS and ATLAS Collaborations have recently published the results of initial direct LHC searches for supersymmetry analyzing ~ 35/pb of data taken at 7 TeV in the centre of mass. We incorporate these results into a frequentist analysis of the probable ranges of parameters of simple versions of the minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model (MSSM), namely the constrained MSSM (CMSSM), a model with common non-universal Higgs masses (NUHM1), the very constrained MSSM (VCMSSM) and minimal supergravity (mSUGRA). We present updated predictions for the gluino mass, m_gl, the light Higgs boson mass, M_h, BR(B_s to mu mu) and the spin-independent dark matter scattering cross section, sigma_SI. The CMS and ATLAS data make inroads into the CMSSM, NUHM1 and VCMSSM (but not mSUGRA) parameter spaces, thereby strengthening previous lower limits on sparticle masses and upper limits on sigma_SI in the CMSSM and VCMSSM. The favoured ranges of BR(B_s to mu mu) in the CMSSM, VCMSSM and mSUGRA are close to the Standard Model, but considerably larger values of BR(B_s to mu mu) are possible in the NUHM1. Applying the CMS and ATLAS constraints improves the consistency of the model predictions for M_h with the LEP exclusion limits.
Recent results in the search for supersymmetry in pp collisions at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV and sqrt(s) = 8 TeV by the ATLAS and CMS experiments at the LHC are reviewed. After discussing features of inclusive analyses and the presentation of results, emphasis will be put on searches for the third generation squarks, on searches for gauginos, and on possible ways supersymmetry could escape the present analyses.
The sensitivity for CMS searches for supersymmetry is evaluated in the context of an upgraded LHC at a center-of-mass energy of 14 TeV and an integrated luminosity of 300 fb-1. Results for several key searches for supersymmetry are presented including direct and gluino-mediated stop and sbottom production and electroweak production of supersymmetric particles.
New and recent results on Supersymmetry searches are shown for the ATLAS and the CMS experiments. Analyses with about 36 fb$^{-1}$ are considered for searches concerning light squarks and gluinos, direct pair production of 3$^{rd}$ generation squarks, electroweak production of charginos, neutralinos, sleptons, R-parity violating scenarios and long-lived particles.
We present several strategies for searching for supersymmetry in dijet channels that do not explicitly invoke missing energy. Preliminary investigations suggest that signal-to-background ratios of at least 4--5 should be achievable at the LHC, with discovery possible for squarks as heavy as ~ 1.7 TeV.
This review summarizes the state of the art in searches for supersymmetry at colliders on the eve of the LHC era. Supersymmetry is unique among extensions of the standard model in being motivated by naturalness, dark matter, and force unification, both with and without gravity. At the same time, weak-scale supersymmetry encompasses a wide range of experimental signals that are also found in many other frameworks. We recall the motivations for supersymmetry and review the various models and their distinctive features. We then comprehensively summarize searches for neutral and charged Higgs boso…
Run 1 of the LHC has provided three new motivations for supersymmetry: the need to stabilize the electroweak vacuum, the mass of the Higgs boson, and the fact that its couplings are Standard Model-like (so far). The prospects for discovering (and measuring) supersymmetry during future runs of the LHC are discussed in the frameworks of the constrained MSSM (CMSSM), models with non-universal soft supersymmetry-breaking contributions to Higgs masses (NUHM1,2) and the phenomenological MSSM with 10 arbitrary soft supersymmetry-breaking parameters (pMSSM10). In addition to the classic searches for m…
We investigate the prospects of supersymmetry searches at the LHC with 7 TeV energy. A new set of selection cuts is proposed based on event shapes to control backgrounds. Our preliminary studies show that it is possible to minimize backgrounds to a significantly low level and conservative estimate suggests that the mass reach can be extended to $\sim$ 1.1 TeV for luminosity 1/fb with a reasonable signal-to-background ratio.
The ATLAS and CMS experiments at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN have searched for signals of new physics, in particular for supersymmetry. The data collected until 2012 at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV and integrated luminosities of 5 fb^-1 and 20 fb^-1, respectively, agree with the expectation from standard model processes. Constraints on supersymmetry have been calculated and interpreted in different models. Limits on supersymmetry particle masses at the TeV scale have been derived and interpreted generally in the context of simplified model spectra. The constrained minimal…
After a very successful startup of the LHC in 2010, the CMS experiment has already accumulated significantly more data in 2011. After the successful re-discovery of the Standard Model, the search for signs of new physics has already reached, and in most cases enlarged, the limits from previous experiments. In this conference report I review the recent discovery reach of SUSY searches that will be performed with the 2011 data.
Supersymmetry is a prime candidate for physics beyond the Standard Model because low-energy supersymmetry stabilizes the Higgs mass avoiding fine-tuning and leads to natural electroweak symmetry breaking. However, searches at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) for supersymmetric particles have not found any signal and give strong limits on mass of gluino and squark. Also, the observed Higgs mass of 125 GeV is not easily accommodated in the minimal supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) where one has to rely on the radiative corrections to boost the Higgs mass accompanied with fine-tuning. I study a…
In Stealth Supersymmetry, bounds on superpartners from direct searches can be notably weaker than in standard supersymmetric scenarios, due to suppressed missing energy. We present a set of simplified models of Stealth Supersymmetry that motivate 13 TeV LHC searches. We focus on simplified models within the Natural Supersymmetry framework, in which the gluino, stop, and Higgsino are assumed to be lighter than other superpartners. Our simplified models exhibit novel decay patterns that differ significantly from topologies of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model, with and without $R$-parity…
Experiments at particle colliders have reached center of mass energies well above 100 GeV, equivalent to temperatures which existed shortly after the big bang. These experiments, testing the initial conditions of the universe have, with great precision, established the Standard Model of Particle Physics. In contrast, the existence of the Higgs boson and perhaps Supersymmetry remain speculative, as todays searches have failed to find signs of their existence. However, the next generation of high energy collider experiments and especially CERN's 14 TeV LHC, expected to start operation in the yea…
Searches for supersymmetry (SUSY) at the LHC frequently assume the conservation of $R$-parity in their design, optimization and interpretation. In the case that $R$-parity is not conserved, constraints on SUSY particle masses tend to be weakened with respect to $R$-parity-conserving models. We review the current status of searches for $R$-parity-violating (RPV) supersymmetry models at the ATLAS and CMS experiments, limited to 8 TeV search results published or submitted for publication as of the end of March 2015. All forms of renormalisable RPV terms leading to prompt signatures have been cons…
We investigate FASER@LHC perspectives in searches for light ($0.1-5$ GeV) sgoldstinos in models with low energy ($10-10^4$ TeV) supersymmetry breaking. We consider flavor conserving and flavor violating couplings of sgoldstinos to Standard Model fermions and find the both options to be testable at FASER. Even the first FASER run allows one to probe interesting patches in the model parameter space, while the second run, FASER-II, with significantly larger detector fiducial volume, gives a possibility to thoroughly explore a wide class of supersymmetric extensions of particle physics complementa…
Discovery of the Higgs boson and lack of discovery of superpartners in the first run at LHC are both predictions of split supersymmetry with thermal dark matter. We discuss what it would take to find gluinos at hadron supercolliders, including the LHC at 14 TeV center of mass energy, and future pp colliders at 100 TeV and 200 TeV. We generalize the discussion by re-expressing the search capacity in terms of gluino to lightest superpartner mass ratio, and apply results to other scenarios, such as gauge mediation and mirage mediation.
An overview of supersymmetry searches is presented, covering collider experiments, direct and indirect searches for supersymmetric dark matter. Recent LHC experimental results are reviewed, and the constraints from B-meson decays are reported. Implications for supersymmetry of the latest direct and indirect searches are thoroughly discussed. The focus is on the complementarity of the various probes -- particle and astrophysical -- for constraining Supersymmetry.
The results from the CMS search for supersymmetric particles based on Run-2 data recorded at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV are summarized. Strong and weak production of SUSY scenarios are considered. Results presented include the searches for squarks and gluinos, direct production of charginos, neutralinos, and sleptons. These searches involve final state objects comprising jets, missing transverse momentum, electrons or muons, taus or photons, as well as long-lived particles. The data in these searches are found to be consistent with standard model predictions and no significant excess is…
The Run 2 data taking period of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN in years 2015-2018 has presented a great opportunity to search for physics beyond the standard model (BSM). It will be followed by the Run 3 period starting in 2022, and by the High-Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) era starting in late 2020s, where the latter promises an unprecedented wealth of physics prospects due to very high expected integrated luminosity and improved detector features. The ATLAS, CMS and LHCb experiments pursued a rich physics program in Run 2, and are already assessing the physics expectations at the HL-LHC e…
A light singlino in the NMSSM can reduce considerably the missing transverse energy at the end of sparticle decay cascades; instead, light NMSSM-specific Higgs bosons can be produced. Such scenarios can be consistent with present constraints from the LHC with all sparticle masses below ~1 TeV. We discuss search strategies, which do not rely on missing transverse energy, for such scenarios at the next run of the LHC near 14 TeV.
The discovery of the Higgs boson at $\sim 125$ GeV indicates that the scale of weak scale supersymmetry is higher than what was perceived in the pre-Higgs boson discovery era and lies in the several TeV region. This makes the discovery of supersymmetry more challenging and argues for hadron colliders beyond LHC at $\sqrt s=14$ TeV. The Future Circular Collider (FCC) study at CERN is considering a 100 TeV collider to be installed in a 100 km tunnel in the Lake Geneva basin. Another 100 km collider being considered in China is the Super proton-proton Collider (SppC). A third possibility recently…
Recent clarifications of naturalness in supersymmetry robustly require the presence of four light higgsinos with mass ~100-300 GeV while gluinos and (top)-squarks may lie in the multi-TeV range, possibly out of LHC reach. We project the high luminosity (300-3000 fb^{-1}) reach of LHC14 via gluino cascade decays and via same-sign diboson production. We compare these to the reach for neutralino pair production \tz_1\tz_2 followed by \tz_2\to\tz_1\ell^+\ell^- decay to soft dileptons which recoil against a hard jet. It appears that 3000 fb^{-1} is just about sufficient integrated luminosity to pro…
The combined constraints from six early Run 2 ATLAS searches for supersymmetry are interpreted in the phenomenological minimal supersymmetric extension to the Standard Model (pMSSM). Each of the searches was based on proton-proton collision data recorded in 2015 at $\sqrt{s} =13$ TeV with 3.2 fb$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity. Sensitivity to squarks of the first two generations and gluinos are evaluated using fast detector simulation. Results are presented in the 19-parameter R-parity conserving pMSSM with the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP) being the neutralino. Considering 181.8k poi…
We discuss the possible signatures at the Large Hadron Collider in models where R-parity is spontaneously broken. In the context of the minimal gauge theory for R-parity, we investigate signals with multileptons which can provide an unique test of this theory. The possible impact of these ideas for the search of supersymmetry at the Large Hadron Collider is discussed. We also discuss the constraints coming from cosmology due to the existence of two light sterile neutrinos in the theory.
A review of the current experimental results on searches for Higgs bosons in models beyond the Standard Model is presented. Searches from ATLAS, CMS and LHCb use datasets from Run 1 of the LHC, including 7 and 8 TeV proton-proton collisions. Searches from CDF and D0 use the full or partial 1.96 TeV proton-anti-proton collision datasets from the Tevatron.
In these lectures I survey the state of supersymmetric extensions of the Standard Model in light of data from the first run of the LHC. After assessing pre-LHC expectations based on principles of naturalness and parsimony, I review the landscape of direct and indirect search limits at the LHC, including the implications of the observed Higgs mass and couplings. Finally, I survey several broad classes of supersymmetric models that are consistent with current data and enumerate the most promising search strategies and model-building directions for the future.
This review discusses both experimental and theoretical aspects of searches for dark matter at the LHC. An overview of the various experimental search channels is given, followed by a summary of the different theoretical approaches for predicting dark matter signals. A special emphasis is placed on the interplay between LHC dark matter searches and other kinds of dark matter experiments, as well as among different types of LHC searches.
We present here the results for Higgs and Supersymmetry prospective searches at the Large Hadron Collider. We show that for one year at high luminosity, Standard Model and MSSM Higgs should be observed within the theoretically expected mass range. MSUGRA and restricted phenomenological MSSM searches lead to discovery of up to 2.5 TeV squarks and gluinos.
The current searches of supersymmetry (SUSY) are based on the neutralino lightest sparticle (LSP). In this article we instead focus on SUSY with sneutrino LSP. It is well motivated in many contexts, especially in which sneutrino services as a dark matter candidate. We first develop a simplified model, which contains the stop, chagino/neutralino and sneutrino, to describe the LHC phenomenologies of a large class of models with sneutrino LSP. Then we investigate bounds on the model using the SUSY searches at the 8 TeV LHC. Strong exclusion limits are derived, e.g., masses of stop and chargino ca…
The second period of datataking at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) has provided a large dataset of proton-proton collisions that is unprecedented in terms of its centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV and integrated luminosity of almost 140 fb$^{-1}$. These data constitute a formidable laboratory for the search for new particles predicted by models of supersymmetry. The analysis activity is still ongoing, but a host of results on supersymmetry has already been released by the general purpose LHC experiments ATLAS and CMS. In this paper, we provide a map into this remarkable body of research, which sp…
Motivated by the null results of LHC searches, which together with the Higgs mass, severely constrain minimal supersymmetric extensions of the standard model, we adopt a model-independent approach to study charged slepton flavor. We examine a number of simplified models, with different subsets of sleptons, electroweak gauginos, and Higgsinos, and derive the allowed slepton flavor dependence in the region probed by current LHC searches, and in the region relevant for the 14 TeV LHC. We then study the impact of the allowed flavor dependence on lepton plus missing energy searches. In some cases, …
Supersymmetry may be discovered at high energy colliders, through low energy precision measurements, and by dark matter searches. We present a comprehensive analysis of all available probes in minimal supergravity. This work extends previous analyses by including the focus point branch of parameter space and the full array of promising indirect dark matter searches. We find that particle and astrophysical searches underway are highly complementary: each separately provides only partial coverage of the available parameter space, but together they probe almost all models. Cosmology does {\em not…
This talk discusses the prospects for supersymmetry studies at the LHC and NLC. The results are based on those of the Supersymmetry Working Group at the 1996 Snowmass Workshop.
We briefly review the status of motivated beyond-the-MSSM phenomenology in the light of the LHC searches to date. In particular, we discuss the conceptual consequences of the exclusion bounds, of the hint for a Higgs boson at about 125 GeV, and of interpreting the excess of direct CP violation in the charm sector as a signal of New Physics. We try to go into the various topics in a compact way while providing a relatively rich list of references, with particular attention to the most recent developments.
We critically examine interpretations of hypothetical supersymmetric LHC signals, fitting to alternative wrong models of supersymmetry breaking. The signals we consider are some of the most constraining on the sparticle spectrum: invariant mass distributions with edges and end-points from the golden cascade decay chain \tilde{q}_L -> q χ_2^0 (-> \tilde{l}^{\pm} l^{\mp} q) -> χ_1^0 l^+ l^- q. We assume a CMSSM point to be the `correct' one, and fit the signals instead to minimal gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking models (mGMSB) with a neutralino quasi-stable lightest supersymmetric particle,…
We present a summary of the current status of searches for dark matter at the LHC from the ATLAS and CMS experiments. For various assumptions in the simplified parameter space, the LHC exclusions is complementary to direct detection results. Mono-object analyses in search of dark matter and various analyses searching for dark matter mediators are presented.
An overview of the recent searches for Higgs boson pair production at the LHC was presented. The searches were based on approximately 140 $\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ of data collected by the ATLAS and CMS experiments in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV. With respect to the previous searches, analysis techniques were significantly improved, and new signatures and decays channels were explored.
We present a general procedure to decompose Beyond the Standard Model (BSM) collider signatures presenting a Z2 symmetry into Simplified Model Spectrum (SMS) topologies. Our method provides a way to cast BSM predictions for the LHC in a model independent framework, which can be directly confronted with the relevant experimental constraints. Our concrete implementation currently focusses on supersymmetry searches with missing energy, for which a large variety of SMS results from ATLAS and CMS are available. As show-case examples we apply our procedure to two scans of the minimal supersymmetric …
With sufficient data, Large Hadron Collider (LHC) experiments can constrain the selectron-smuon mass splitting through differences in the di-electron and di-muon edges from supersymmetry (SUSY) cascade decays. We study the sensitivity of the LHC to this mass splitting, which within mSUGRA may be constrained down to O(10^{-4}) for 30 fb^{-1} of integrated luminosity. Over substantial regions of SUSY breaking parameter space the fractional edge splitting can be significantly enhanced over the fractional mass splitting. Within models where the selectron and smuon are constrained to be universal a…
Motivated by the absence of any clear signal of physics beyond the Standard Model at the LHC after Run I, we discuss one possible slight hint of new physics and one non-minimal extension of the Standard Model. In the first part we provide a tentative explanation of a small excess of multilepton events, observed by the CMS collaboration, by means of a simplified model of gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking. In the second part we discuss how the standard phenomenology of gauge mediation can be significantly modified if one makes the non-minimal assumption that supersymmetry is broken in more t…
In these proceedings we review the interplay between LHC searches for dark matter and direct detection experiments. For this purpose we consider two prime examples: the effective field theory (EFT) approach and the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM). In the EFT scenario we show that for operators which do not enter directly direct detection at tree-level, but only via loop effects, LHC searches give complementary constraints. In the MSSM stop and Higgs exchange contribute to the direct detection amplitude. Therefore, LHC searches for supersymmetric particles and heavy Higgses place c…
We investigate multilepton LHC signals arising from electroweak processes involving sleptons. We consider the framework of general gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking, focusing on models where the low mass region of the superpartner spectrum consists of the three generations of charged sleptons and the nearly massless gravitino. We demonstrate how such models can provide an explanation for the anomalous four lepton events recently observed by the CMS collaboration, while satisfying other existing experimental constraints. The best fit to the CMS data is obtained for a selectron/smuon mass of…
We address the question whether the ILC can resolve the LHC Inverse Problem within the framework of the MSSM. We examine 242 points in the MSSM parameter space which were generated at random and were found to give indistinguishable signatures at the LHC. After a realistic simulation including full Standard Model backgrounds and a fast detector simulation, we find that roughly only one third of these scenarios lead to visible signatures of some kind with a significance $\geq 5$ at the ILC with $\sqrt s=500$ GeV. Furthermore, we examine these points in parameter space pairwise and find that only…
We define a minimal model with Universal Extra Dimensions, and begin to study its phenomenology. The collider signals of the first KK level are surprisingly similar to those of a supersymmetric model with a nearly degenerate superpartner spectrum. The lightest KK particle (LKP) is neutral and stable because of KK-parity. KK excitations cascade decay to the LKP yielding missing energy signatures with relatively soft jets and leptons. Level 2 KK modes may also be probed via their KK number violating decays to Standard Model particles. In either case we provide initial estimates for the discovery…
We study the sensitivity of displaced vertex searches for heavy neutrinos produced in W boson decays in the LHC detectors ATLAS, CMS and LHCb. We also propose a new search that uses the muon chambers to detect muons from heavy neutrino decays outside the tracker. The sensitivity estimates are based on benchmark models in which the heavy neutrinos mix exclusively with one of the three Standard Model generations. In the most sensitive mass regime the displaced vertex searches can improve existing constraints on the mixing with the first two Standard Model generations by more than four orders of …
Squarks and gluinos have been searched for at hadron colliders in events with multiple jets and missing transverse energy. No excess has been observed to date, and from a comparison of experimental cross section limits and theoretical cross section predictions one can deduce lower bounds on the squark and gluino masses. We present an improved analysis of squark and gluino mass bounds which is based on state-of-the-art cross section calculations including the summation of large threshold corrections. For illustration, we consider experimental data obtained by the CDF collaboration at the Fermil…
The ATLAS collaboration published supersymmetry limits based on up to about 4.7 \ifb data collected over the year 2011 from LHC runs at 7 TeV. These were mainly interpreted within restricted, particular or simplified models for supersymmetry breaking schemes or scenarios. The pMSSM is an alternative and more generic supersymmetry framework which captures broader phenomenological features. Searching for more generic conclusions from the supersymmetry limits interpretation, we update a Bayesian global fit of the pMSSM to pre-LHC data using the LHC-7 limits. The posterior distributions show the m…
We show that the search for supersymmetry at LHC will be very problematic for the particular case of nonuniversal relations among gaugino masses. Namely, if gluino, first chargino and LSP masses are closed to each other it would be very difficult to discover supersymmetry even if sparticle masses are lighter than 1 TeV.
We update our analysis of the Higgs sector masses in Minimal Supersymmetry and in the Two-Higgs Doublet Model to the final ATLAS and CMS data from the 2011-2012 LHC run.
Using two suitable benchmark scenarios that satisfy the experimental constraints on the total decay width of the $125 \, {\rm GeV}$ Higgs boson, we determine the bounds on light CP-odd spin-0 states in the 2HDM+$a$ model that arise from existing LHC searches. Our work represents the first thorough study that considers the parameter space with $m_a \lesssim 100 \, {\rm GeV}$ and should prove useful for 2HDM+$a$ interpretations of future ATLAS, CMS and LHCb searches for pseudoscalars with masses below the electroweak scale.
Supersymmetry (SUSY) is a complete and renormalisable candidate for an extension of the Standard Model. At an energy scale not too far above the electroweak scale it would solve the hierarchy problem of the SM Higgs boson, dynamically explain electroweak symmetry breaking, and provide a dark-matter candidate. Since it doubles the Standard Model degrees of freedom, SUSY predicts a large number of additional particles, whose properties and effects on precision measurements can be explicitly predicted in a given SUSY model. In this review the motivation for SUSY is outlined, the various searches …
A summary of the different searches for weakly produced SUSY by both CMS and ATLAS is presented here. A review on the methodology of these searches, including event selection, background suppression and estimation methods, etc is covered. Other searches at the LHC already probe squarks and gluino masses up to 1.4 TeV, such scenario, may favour electroweak production of charginos and neutralinos, that will produce many-lepton final states accompanied by E$_{\rm T}^{\rm miss}\,$ and very little hadronic activity. Latest searches include Higgs boson in the decay and exploits VBF associated produc…
The LHC has delivered several fb-1 of data in spring and summer 2011, opening new windows of opportunity for discovering phenomena beyond the Standard Model. A summary of the searches conducted by the ATLAS and CMS experiments based on about 1 fb-1 of data is presented.
Supersymmetry is one of the best-motivated candidates for physics beyond the Standard Model that might be discovered at the LHC. There are many reasons to expect that it may appear at the TeV scale, in particular because it provides a natural cold dark matter candidate. The apparent discrepancy between the experimental measurement of g_mu - 2 and the Standard model value calculated using low-energy e+ e- data favours relatively light sparticles accessible to the LHC. A global likelihood analysis including this, other electroweak precision observables and B-decay observables suggests that the L…
Heavy neutrinos at the TeV scale have been searched for at the LHC in the context of left-right models, under the assumption that they couple to the electron, the muon, or both. We show that current searches are also sensitive to heavy neutrinos coupling predominantly to the tau lepton, and present limits can significantly constrain the parameter space of general flavour mixing.
Natural realisations of supersymmetry require light stops ${\tilde t}_1$, making them a prime target of LHC searches for physics beyond the Standard Model. Depending on the kinematic region, the main search channels are ${\tilde t_1}\to t \tilde χ^0_1$, ${\tilde t_1}\to W b \tilde χ^0_1$ and ${\tilde t_1}\to c \tilde χ^0_1$. We first examine the interplay of these decay modes with ${\tilde c_1}\to c \tilde χ^0_1$ in a model-independent fashion, revealing the existence of large regions in parameter space which are excluded for any ${\tilde t_1}\to c \tilde χ^0_1$ branching ratio. This effect is…
Uncovering the physics of electroweak symmetry breaking (EWSB) is the raison-d'etre of the LHC. Flavor questions, it would seem, are of minor relevance for this quest, apart from their role in constraining the possible structure of EWSB physics. In this short review article, we outline, using flavor-dependent sleptons as an example, how flavor can affect both searches for supersymmetry, and future measurements aimed at understanding the nature of any new discoveries. If the production cross-sections for supersymmetry are relatively low, as indicated by the fact that it has not revealed itself …
In supersymmetric models with minimal particle content and without left-right squark mixing, the conventional wisdom is that the 125.6 GeV Higgs boson mass implies top squark masses of O(10) TeV, far beyond the reach of colliders. This conclusion is subject to significant theoretical uncertainties, however, and we provide evidence that it may be far too pessimistic. We evaluate the Higgs boson mass, including the dominant three-loop terms at O(α_t α_s^2), in currently viable models. For multi-TeV stops, the three-loop corrections can increase the Higgs boson mass by as much as 3 GeV and lower …
Current analyses of the LHC data put stringent bounds on strongly interacting supersymmetric particles, restricting the masses of squarks and gluinos to be above the TeV scale. However, the supersymmetric electroweak sector is poorly constrained. In this article we explore the consistency of possible LHC missing energy signals with the broader phenomenological structure of the electroweak sector in low energy supersymmetry models. As an example, we focus on the newly developed Recursive Jigsaw Reconstruction analysis by ATLAS, which reports interesting event excesses in channels containing di-…
I summarize the status of the inclusive SUSY searches conducted by the ATLAS and CMS experiments using the 20 fb-1 of 8 TeV LHC data in the all inclusive, 0 lepton, >=1 lepton and >=2 lepton final states. Current searches show that data are consistent with the SM. The impact of this consistency was explored on a rich variety of SUSY scenarios and simplified models, examples of which I present here.
