This article is a short exposition of the space-time resonances method. It was introduced by Masmoudi, Shatah, and the author, in order to understand global existence for nonlinear dispersive equations, set in the whole space, and with small data. The idea is to combine the classical concept of resonances, with the feature of dispersive equations: wave packets propagate at a group velocity which depends on their frequency localization. The analytical method which follows from this idea turns out to be a very general tool.

Bilinear dispersive estimates via space-time resonances, part II: dimensions 2 and 3

Consider a bilinear interaction between two linear dispersive waves with a generic resonant structure (roughly speaking, space and time resonant sets intersect transversally). We derive an asymptotic equivalent of the solution for data in the Schwartz class, and bilinear dispersive estimates for data in weighted Lebesgue spaces. An application to water waves with infinite depth, gravity and surface tension is also presented.

Space-Time resonances and the null condition for (first order) systems of wave equations

In this manuscript we prove global existence and linear asymptotic behavior of small solutions to nonlinear wave equations. We assume that the quadratic part of the nonlinearity satisfies a non-resonant condition which is a generalization of the null condition given by Klainerman.

On homogeneous Besov spaces for $1D$ Hamiltonians without zero resonance

Space-time resonances and high-frequency Raman instabilities in the two-fluid Euler-Maxwell system

We show that space-time resonances induce high-frequency Raman instabilities in the two-fluid Euler-Maxwell system describing laser-plasma interactions. A consequence is that the Zakharov WKB approximation to Euler-Maxwell is unstable for non-zero group velocities. A key step in the proof is the reformulation of the set of resonant frequencies as the locus of weak hyperbolicity for linearized equations around the WKB solution. Existence of solutions for a problem of resonance road space with weight

In this work we use variational methods to show the existence of weak solutions for a nonlinear problem of the type elliptic. This problem was initially study by the authors Ahmad, Lazer and Paul (see \cite{ALP}) considering the space $Ω\subset\Rset^n$ a bounded domains. In this work we extend your result now considering the domain $\Rset^n$. Indeed, the main theorems in this paper constitute an extension to $\Rset^n$ of your previous results in bounded domains.

Bilinear dispersive estimates via space-time resonances. Part I : the one dimensional case

We prove new bilinear dispersive estimates. They are obtained and described via a bilinear time-frequency analysis following the space-time resonances method, introduced by Masmoudi, Shatah, and the second author. They allow us to understand the large time behavior of solutions of quadratic dispersive equations.

Scattering For three waves Nonlinear Schrödinger System with mass-resonance in 5D

In this paper, we study the dynamics behavior of the NLS system with three waves interaction in the energy space $H^1(\mathbb{R}^5) \times H^1(\mathbb{R}^5)\times H^1(\mathbb{R}^5) $. Inspired by B. Dodson and J. Murphy in \cite{Dodson2018}, we establish an interaction Morawetz estimate for the NLS system, together with the criterion which proved by Tao-Dodson--Murphy we can get the scattering under the ground state in energy space with mass-resonance. Under the radial assumption, we can remove the mass-resonance condition.

Resonances for Symmetric Tensors on Asymptotically Hyperbolic Spaces

On manifolds with an even Riemannian conformally compact Einstein metric, the resolvent of the Lichnerowicz Laplacian, acting on trace-free, divergence-free, symmetric 2-tensors is shown to have a meromorphic continuation to the complex plane, defining quantum resonances of this Laplacian. For higher rank symmetric tensors, a similar result is proven for (convex cocompact) quotients of hyperbolic space.

Time Asymptotic expansions of solution for fourth-order Schrödinger equation with zero resonance or eigenvalue

In this paper, we first deduce the asymptotic expansions of resolvent of $H=(-Δ)^2+V$ with the presence of resonance or eigenvalue at the degenerate zero threshold for $d\geq5$. In particular, we identify these resonance spaces for full kinds of zero resonances. As a consequence, we then establish the {\it time asymptotic expansions} and {\it Kato-Jensen estimates} for the solution of fourth-order Schrödinger equation under the presence of zero resonance or eigenvalue.

Absence of resonance near the critical line on asymptotically hyperbolic spaces

As a consequence of a result of Cardoso and Vodev, we show that the resolvent of the Laplacian on asymptotically hyperbolic manifolds is analytic in an exponential neighbourhood of the critical line. The case of non-trapping metrics with constant curvature near infinity is also considered: there exists a strip with at most a finite number of resonances.

Resonances for obstacles in hyperbolic space

We consider scattering by star-shaped obstacles in hyperbolic space and show that resonances satisfy a universal bound $\mathrm{Im}\,λ\leq -\frac{1}{2}$ which is optimal in dimension $2$. In odd dimensions we also show that $\mathrm{Im}\,λ\leq -\fracμρ$ for a universal constant $μ$, where $ρ$ is the radius of a ball containing the obstacle; this gives an improvement for small obstacles. Resonance expansions for tensor-valued waves on asymptotically Kerr-de Sitter spaces

In recent joint work with Vasy, we analyze the low energy behavior of differential form-valued waves on black hole spacetimes. In order to deduce asymptotics and decay from this, one in addition needs high energy estimates for the wave operator acting on sections of the form bundle. Resonance Theory for Schroedinger Operators

Resonances which result from perturbation of embedded eigenvalues are studied by time dependent methods.
