Motivated by the recent measurement of the like-sign dimuon charge asymmetry, we investigate anomalous CP violation in the B_s- bar{B}_s mixing within the supersymmetry. We show that when gluino diagrams dominate supersymmetry contributions, it is very difficult to realize a large B_s- bar{B}_s mixing phase under the constraint from electric dipole moments barring cancellations. This constraint can be ameliorated by supposing superparticles decoupled. In this limit, we find that it is possible to achieve the large CP asymmetry, and the branching ratio of B_s -> mu^+ mu^- tends to become sizable.
The nucleon EDM is shown to be directly related to the EDM of atomic systems. From the observed EDM values of the atomic Hg system, the neutron EDM can be extracted, which gives a very stringent constraint on the supersymmetry parameters. It is also shown that the measurement of Nitrogen and Thallium atomic systems should provide important information on the flavor dependence of the quark EDM. We perform numerical analyses on the EDM of neutron, proton and electron in the minimal supersymmetric standard model with CP-violating phases. We demonstrate that the new limit on the neutron EDM extrac…
Motivated by recent progress in experimental techniques of electric dipole moment (EDM) measurements, we study correlations between the neutron and electron EDMs in common supersymmetric models. These include minimal supergravity (mSUGRA) with small CP phases, mSUGRA with a heavy SUSY spectrum, the decoupling scenario and split SUSY. In most cases, the electron and neutron EDMs are found to be observable in the next round of EDM experiments. They exhibit certain correlation patterns. For example, if d_n ~ 10^{-27} e cm is found, d_e is predicted to lie in the range 10^{-28}-10^{-29} e cm.
We perform a quantitative study of the neutron and electron electric dipole moments (EDM) in Supersymmetry, in the limit of heavy scalars. The leading contributions arise at two loops. We give the complete analytic result, including a new contribution associated with Z-Higgs exchange, which plays an important and often leading role in the neutron EDM. The predictions for the EDM are typically within the sensitivities of the next generation experiments. We also analyse the correlation between the electron and neutron EDM, which provides a robust test of Split Supersymmetry.
We analyze the singlet $P$--wave charmonium production at $e^+ e^-$ colliders within the framework of unconstrained supersymmetry. We show that the CP--violating transitions, dominated by the gluino exchange, are typically four orders of magnitude larger than the CP--conserving ones, and former is generated by the electric dipole moment of the charm quark. Our results can be directly tested via the charmonium searches at the CLEO--c experiment.
We study an important contribution to the electric dipole moment (EDM) of the electron (or quarks) at the two-loop level due to the $W$-EDM in the recently proposed scenario of split supersymmetry. This contribution is independent of the Higgs mass, and it can enhance the previous estimation of the electron (neutron) EDM by $20-50%$ ($40-90%$). Our formula is new in its analytical form.
We calculate the electric dipole moments (EDM) of the neutral Hg(199) atom, deuteron, nucleons and neutral hyperons Lambda, Sigma(0) and Xi(0) in the framework of a generic SUSY model without R-parity conservation (RPV SUSY) on the basis of the SU(3) version of chiral perturbation theory (ChPT). We consider CP-violation in the hadronic sector induced by the chromoelectric quark dipole moments and CP-violating 4-quark effective interactions. From the null experimental results on the neutron and Hg(199) atom EDMs we derive limits on the imaginary parts of certain products Im(lambda' lambda'*) of…
We present a detailed analysis of the neutron, deuteron and mercury electric dipole moment from supersymmetry without R parity, focusing on the quark-scalar loop contributions. Being proportional to top Yukawa and top mass, such contributions are often large. Analytical expressions illustrating the explicit role of the R-parity violating parameters are given following perturbative diagonalization of mass-squared matrices for the scalars. Dominant contributions come from the combinations $B_i λ^{\prime}_{ij1}$ for which we obtain robust bounds. It turns out that neutron and deuteron EDMs receiv…
We calculate the electric dipole moments (EDM) of the neutral Hg(199) atom, neutron and deuteron within a generic R-parity violating SUSY model (RPV SUSY) on the basis of a one-pion exchange model with CP-odd pion-nucleon interactions. We consider two types of the RPV SUSY contributions to the above hadronic EDMs: via the quark chromoelectric dipole moments (CEDM) and CP-violating 4-quark interactions. We demonstrate that the former contributes to all the three studied EDMs while the latter appears only in the nuclear EDMs via the CP-odd nuclear forces. We find that the RPV SUSY induced 4-quar…
We investigate the muon anomalous magnetic dipole moment (MDM), the muon electric dipole moment (EDM) and the lepton-flavour-violating decays of the $τ-$lepton, $τ\to μγ$ and $τ\to 3μ$, in the CP-violating Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) with nonuniversal soft-supersymmetry breaking. We evaluate numerically the muon EDM and the branching ratios $B(τ\to μγ)$ and $B(τ\to 3μ)$, after taking into account the experimental constraints from the electron EDM and muon MDM. Upon imposition of the experimental limits on our theoretical predictions for the aforementioned branching ratios and …
We study popular scalar extensions of the Standard Model, namely the singlet extension, the 2-Higgs doublet model (2HDM) and its extension by a singlet scalar. We focus on the contributions of the added scalars to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon, $(g-2)_μ$ in the presence of CP-violation, and the electric dipole moment of the electron ($e$EDM) in these models. In the absence of CP-violation, CP-even and CP-odd scalars contribute with an opposite sign to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon and as a result these models generally require very light scalars to explain the observed …
CP violation from physics beyond the Standard Model may reside in triple boson vertices of the electroweak theory. We review the effective theory description and discuss how CP violating contributions to these vertices might be discerned by electric dipole moments (EDM) or diboson production at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). Despite triple boson CP violating interactions entering EDMs only at the two-loop level, we find that EDM experiments are generally more powerful than the diboson processes. To give example to these general considerations we perform the comparison between EDMs and collid…
We analyze the constraints on a CP-violating, flavor conserving, two Higgs doublet model from the measurements of Higgs properties and from the search for heavy Higgs bosons at LHC, and show that the stronger limits typically come from the heavy Higgs search channels. The limits on CP violation arising from the Higgs sector measurements are complementary to those from EDM measurements. Combining all current constraints from low energy to colliders, we set generic upper bounds on the CP violating angle which parametrizes the CP odd component in the 126 GeV Higgs boson.
The SM predictions for CP violating effects in D meson systems are highly suppressed at the per mill level. Therefore, any experimental evidence for a sizable CP violation in D0-D0bar mixing would unambiguously point towards a New Physics (NP) signal. Within supersymmetric scenarios, the popular alignment models can naturally account for large, non-standard effects in D0-D0bar mixing. We demonstrate that, within alignment models, detectable CP violating effects in D0-D0bar mixing would unambiguously imply a lower bound for the electric dipole moment (EDM) of hadronic systems, like the neutron …
Low scale leptogenesis scenarios are difficult to verify due to our inability to relate the parameters involved in the early universe processes with the low energy or collider observables. Here we show that one can in principle relate the parameters giving rise to the transient $CP$ violating phase involved in leptogenesis with those that can be deduced from the observation of electric dipole moment (EDM) of the electron. We work out the details of this in the context of the left right symmetric supersymmetric model (LRSUSY) which provides a strong connection between such parameters. In partic…
Non-universality in the soft breaking terms is a common feature in most superstring inspired SUSY models. This property is required to obtain sizeable CP violation effects from SUSY and, on the other hand, can be used to avoid the Electric Dipole Moment constraints. We take advantage of these qualities and explore a class of SUSY models based on type I string theory where scalar masses, gaugino masses and trilinear couplings are non-universal. In this framework, we show that, in the presence of large SUSY phases, the bounds on the Electric Dipole Moments can be controled without fine-tuning. A…
Strong correlations between leptogenesis and low energy CP violating leptonic processes have been shown by us to exist in the minimal left-right symmetric model with spontaneous CP violation. In this note, we investigate the implications of this model for the electric dipole moment of the electron. With an additional broken U(1)_H symmetry, the seesaw scale can be lowered to close to the electroweak scale. This additional symmetry also makes the connection between CP violation in quark sector to that in the lepton sector possible.
We consider a recently proposed supersymmetric model based on the discrete Q6 family group.Because of the family symmetry and spontaneous CP violation the electric dipole moment (EDM), the CP violation in the mixing of the neural mesons and the dark matter mass m_DM are closely related. This triangle relation is controlled by the size of the mu parameters. Loop effects can give rise to large contributions to the soft mass insertions, and we find that the model allows a large CP violation in the B0 system. Its size is comparable with the recent experimental observations at D0 and CDF, and it co…
We derive a strong bound on the chromo-electric dipole moment of the charm quark, and we quantify its impact on models that allow for a sizeable flavour violation in the up quark sector. In particular we show how the constraints coming from the charm and up CEDMs limit the size of new physics contributions to direct flavour violation in D meson decays. We also specialize our analysis to the cases of split-families Supersymmetry and composite Higgs models. The results we expose motivate an increase in experimental sensitivity to fundamental hadronic dipoles, and a further exploration of the SM …
The constraint on the $R$-parity violating supersymmetric interactions is discussed in the light of current experimental data of the electric dipole moment of neutron, $^{129}$Xe , $^{205}$Tl, and $^{199}$Hg atoms, and YbF and ThO molecules. To investigate the constraints without relying upon the assumption of the dominance of a particular combination of couplings over all the rest, an extensive use is made of the linear programming method in the scan of the parameter space. We give maximally possible values for the EDMs of the proton, deuteron, $^3$He nucleus, $^{211}$Rn, $^{225}$Ra, $^{210}$…
The Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model (NMSSM) features extra new sources for CP violation. In contrast to the MSSM CP violation can already occur at tree level in the Higgs sector. We investigate the range of possible allowed CP-violating phases by taking into account the constraints arising from the measurements of the Electric Dipole Moments (EDMs) and the latest LHC Higgs data. Our analysis shows that large CP-violating phases, that are NMSSM-specific, are not in conflict with the EDMs. They are dominantly constrained by the Higgs data in this case. We use our r…
We study the lepton flavor violation (LFV), the leptonic magnetic moments $(g-2)_{μ,\,e} $ and the electric dipole moment (EDM) of the electron in the Standard-Model Effective Field Theory with the $Γ_N$ modular flavor symmetry. We employ the stringy Ansatz on coupling structure that 4-point couplings of matter fields are written by a product of 3-point couplings of matter fields. We take the level 3 finite modular group, $Γ_3$ for the flavor symmetry, and discuss the dipole operators at nearby fixed point $τ=i$, where observed lepton masses and mixing angles are well reproduced. Suppose the a…
The limits placed by the non-measurement of atomic and neutron electric dipole moments on CP violating phases beyond the SM are found to be not fully justified since the calculations of the expected EDMs lack the full understanding of the connection between perturbative and nonperturbative regimes of QCD for the measured boundstates. As a consequence rather old subroutines for the evaluation of EDMs are still usable.

Supersymmetric extensions of the Standard Model with scalar superpartners above 10 TeV are well motivated since the Higgs boson mass can be explained by quantum corrections while maintaining gauge coupling unification. If supersymmetry breaking is transmitted to gauginos via anomaly mediation, the gaugino masses are loop suppressed compared to scalar masses, and the lightest supersymmetric particle is the Higgsino or wino, which can be the dark matter. In this setup, we identify the regions of parameter space that reproduce the observed Higgs boson mass and the thermal abundance of dark matter…
We discuss the singlet-doublet fermion dark matter model with CP-violation. In this model, the CP-violation generates a pseudo-scalar interaction of dark matter with the SM-Higgs boson. Thanks to the pseudo-scalar interaction, the model can evade the strong constraint from the dark matter direct detection experiments while keeping the success of the thermal relic scenario. The CP-violation also predicts signals in dark matter indirect detection experiments and electric dipole moments (EDM) that can be as large as the current upper bound. We investigate the constraints and prospects of the dire…
We report on a study of CP Violation in D0-D0bar mixing and Electric Dipole Moments in the framework of supersymmetric alignment models. Both classes of observables are strongly suppressed in the Standard Model and highly sensitive to new sources of flavor and CP violation that can be present in models of New Physics. Supersymmetric alignment models generically predict large non-standard effects in D0-D0bar mixing and we show that visible CP violation in D0-D0bar mixing implies lower bounds for the EDMs of hadronic systems, like the neutron EDM and the mercury EDM, in the reach of future exper…
We study the electric dipole moments (EDMs) of fermions in the standard model supplemented with right-handed neutrinos and its extension including neutrino seesaw mechanism under the framework of minimal flavor violation (MFV). In the quark sector, we find that the current experimental bound on the neutron EDM does not yield a significant restriction on the scale of MFV. In addition, we consider how MFV may affect the contribution of the strong theta-term to the neutron EDM. For the leptons, the existing EDM data also do not lead to strict limits if neutrinos are Dirac particles. On the other …
We present a detailed analysis together with numerical calculations on one-loop contributions to the neutron electric dipole moment from supersymmetry without R parity, focusing on the quark-scalar loop contributions. Complete formulas are given for the various contributions through the quark dipole operators. Analytical expressions illustrating the explicit role of the R-parity violating parameters are given following perturbative diagonalization of mass-squared matrices for the scalars. Dominant contributions come from the combinations $B_i^{\ast} λ^{\prime}_{ij1}$ for which we obtain robust…
A nonvanishing value for the electric dipole moment (EDM) of the neutron is a prominent signature for CP violation. The EDM induced by the Kobayashi-Maskawa mechanism of the standard model (SM) has a small magnitude and its detection will be very difficult. However, since baryon asymmetry of the universe cannot be accounted for by the SM, there should exist some other source of CP violation, which may generate a large magnitude for the EDM. One of the most hopeful candidates for physics beyond the SM is the supersymmetric standard model, which contains such sources of CP violation. This model …
We proposed how spontaneous CP-violation can be generated in the simplest little Higgs model in this talk. Comparing with the original paper, both formalism and phenomenology are updated. The model is still alive facing the collider and electric dipole moment (EDM) measurements. Strictest constraint comes from LHC $Z'$ direct search, which leads to $f\gtrsim8~\textrm{TeV}$. Higgs measurements also set strict constraint on the scalar mixing angle, if the Higgs rare decay channel is open. EDM measurements still set weak constraints for this model, even after the recent ACME updated measurement o…
We present the full result for the down squark mass-squared matrix in the complete theory of supersymmetry without R-parity where all kind of R-parity violating terms are admitted without bias. An optimal parametrization, the single-VEV parametrization, is used. The major result is a new contribution to $LR$ squark mixing, involving both bilinear and trilinear R-parity violating couplings. Among other things, the latter leads to neutron electric dipole moment at one-loop level. Similiar mechanism leading to electron electric dipole moment at the same level. We present here a short report on ma…
We systematically analyze constraints on supersymmetric theories imposed by the experimental bounds on the electron, neutron, and mercury electric dipole moments. We critically reappraise the known mechanisms to suppress the EDMs and conclude that only the scenarios with approximate CP-symmetry or flavour-off-diagonal CP violation remain attractive after the addition of the mercury EDM constraint.
We analyze CP-violating effects in both Electric Dipole Moment (EDM) measurements and future analyses at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) assuming a Two-Higgs-Doublet Model (2HDM) with "soft" CP-violation. Our analysis of EDMs and current LHC constraints shows that, in the case of a 2HDM Type II and Type III, an $\mathcal{O}(0.1)$ CP-violating phase in the Yukawa interaction between $H_1$ (the $125~\textrm{GeV}$ Higgs boson) and fermions is still allowed. For these scenarios, we study CP-violating effects in the neutron EDM and $t\bar{t}H_1$ production at the LHC. Our analysis shows that such a…
Low energy tau pair production, at B factories and on top of the $Υ$ resonances, allows for a detailed investigation on the CP violation at the electromagnetic tau pair production vertex. High statistic available at low energies offers the opportunity for an independent analysis of CP-violation in the $τ$ lepton physics. We show that stringent and independent bounds on the $τ$ electric dipole moment, competitive with the high energy measurements, can be established in low energies experiments.
We study the prospective sensitivity to CP-violating Two Higgs Doublet Models from the 14 TeV LHC and future electric dipole moment (EDM) experiments. We concentrate on the search for a resonant heavy Higgs that decays to a $Z$ boson and a SM-like Higgs h, leading to the $Z(\ell\ell)h(b\bar{b})$ final state. The prospective LHC reach is analyzed using the Boosted Decision Tree method. We illustrate the complementarity between the LHC and low energy EDM measurements and study the dependence of the physics reach on the degree of deviation from the alignment limit. In all cases, we find that ther…
We estimate contributions of the goldstino supermultiplet to the electric dipole moment (EDM) in the case that the SUSY breaking scale Λ_S is of order the TeV scale. We found that such contributions can saturate the experimental bound if Λ_S is close to the soft mass scale. We also discuss EDM in the gaugino mediated scenario on the warped geometry as an example of models with the TeV-scale SUSY breaking.
In this paper, the flavor structure of quark and lepton EDMs in the SM and beyond is investigated using tools inspired from Minimal Flavor Violation. While Jarlskog-like flavor invariants are adequate for estimating CP-violation from closed fermion loops, non-invariant structures arise from rainbow-like processes. Our goal is to systematically construct these latter flavor structures in the quark and lepton sectors, assuming different mechanisms for generating neutrino masses. Numerically, they are found typically much larger, and not necessarily correlated with, Jarlskog-like invariants. Fina…
CP violating interactions are required to realize the matter abundance of our Universe. It is however known that the standard model of particle physics does not contain sufficient CP violation. The electric dipole moment (EDM) of atomic systems is a very sensitive experimental probe of CP violation beyond the standard model, and it is very actively studied in experiments. The atomic EDM has a significant sensitivity to hadronic CP violation, but its quantification has for long been obstructed by the nonperturbative physics of quantum chromodynamics. Quite recently, the contribution of the Wein…
We discuss direct and indirect probes of chirality-flipping couplings of the top quark to Higgs and gauge bosons, considering both CP-conserving and CP-violating observables, in the framework of the Standard Model effective field theory. In our analysis we include current and prospective constraints from collider physics, precision electroweak tests, flavor physics, and electric dipole moments (EDMs). We find that low-energy indirect probes are very competitive, even after accounting for long-distance uncertainties. In particular, EDMs put constraints on the electroweak CP-violating dipole mom…
I consider a general two Higgs doublet model with CP violation. I give a perturbative expansion for the mass eigenstates in terms of the small CP violating phase. I use these analytical expressions to show that $\mathcal{O}(10^{-2})$ CP violation is allowed by the experimental bounds on the electron electric dipole momnent in some regions of the parameter space. These regions also include parameters that are expected to give a strongly first order electroweak phase transition required for electroweak baryogenesis. I also comment on how to incorporate the CP violation into the searches for a st…
We construct an extension of the supersymmetric standard model where both CP symmetry and R-parity are spontaneously broken. We study the electroweak symmetry breaking sector of the model and find minima consistent with the experimental bounds on Higgs boson masses. Neutrino masses and mixing angles are generated through both seesaw and bilinear R-parity violation. We show that the hierarchical mass pattern is obtained, and mixings are consistent with measured values. Due to the spontaneous CP and R-parity violation, the neutrino sector is CP violating, and we calculate the corresponding phase…
Electric dipole moments (EDMs) of elementary particles are powerful probes of new physics with flavor-diagonal CP violation. The reported discrepancy in the muon anomalous magnetic moment motivates us to explore to what extent new physics with flavor-diagonal CP violation to address the discrepancy is probed by searches for the muon EDM. As a benchmark, we focus on a CP-violating two-Higgs-doublet model to explain the muon $g-2$ anomaly where the muon exclusively couples to one Higgs doublet. Since contributions to flavor violating processes as well as the electron EDM are suppressed, the muon…
Baryon asymmetry of the universe can be generated by new sources of $CP$ violation intrinsic in supersymmetric extension of the standard model. This scenario predicts the neutron electric dipole moment to be not much smaller than its present experimental upper bound.
We present an analysis of the electric dipole moment (EDM) of the deuteron as induced by CP-violating operators of dimension 4, 5 and 6 including theta QCD, the EDMs and color EDMs of quarks, four-quark interactions and the Weinberg operator. We demonstrate that the precision goal of the EDM Collaboration's proposal to search for the deuteron EDM, (1-3)\times 10^{-27} e cm, will provide an improvement in sensitivity to these sources of one-two orders of magnitude relative to the existing bounds. We consider in detail the level to which CP-odd phases can be probed within the MSSM.
We review several aspects of flavour-diagonal CP violation, focussing on the role played by the electric dipole moments (EDMs) of leptons, nucleons, atoms and molecules, which consitute the source of several stringent constraints on new CP-violating physics. We dwell specifically on the calculational aspects of applying the hadronic EDM constraints, reviewing in detail the application of QCD sum-rules to the calculation of nucleon EDMs and CP-odd pion-nucleon couplings. We also consider the current status of EDMs in the Standard Model, and on the ensuing constraints on the underlying sources o…
Experiments searching for the electric dipole moment (EDM) of the electron $d_e$ utilise atomic/molecular states with one or more uncompensated electron spins, and these paramagnetic systems have recently achieved remarkable sensitivity to $d_e$. If the source of $CP$ violation resides entirely in the hadronic sector, the two-photon exchange processes between electrons and the nucleus induce $CP$-odd semileptonic interactions, parametrised by the Wilson coefficient $C_{SP}$, and provide the dominant source of EDMs in paramagnetic systems instead of $d_e$. We evaluate the $C_{SP}$ coefficients …
In this letter we explore the spontaneous CP violation at the finite temperature. We show that the CP-violating phase $φ$ may only emerge around the time of the electroweak phase transition, and it can provide a scource for generating the matter-antimatter asymmetry of the universe via the electroweak baryogenesis mechanism (EWBG) if the domain wall relating to $\pm φ$ vacuums is collapsed by a small explicit $Z_2$-breaking term. No extra CP violation is needed! The spontaneous CP is restored after the electroweak phase transition, such that there is no constraint from the electric dipole mome…
We point out that the null results of the hadronic electric dipole moment (EDM) searches constrain orbifold grand unified theories (GUTs), where the GUT symmetry and supersymmetry (SUSY) are both broken by boundary conditions in extra dimensions and it leads to rich fermion and sfermion flavor structures. A marginal chromoelectric dipole moment (CEDM) of the up quark is induced by the misalignment between the CP violating left- and right-handed up-type squark mixings, in contrast to the conventional four-dimensional SUSY GUTs. The up quark CEDM constraint is found to be as strong as those from…
We study the light quark and the neutron electric dipole moments (EDMs) under the assumptions that the CP source is still in the usual CKM matrix and that there is a small mixing of right-handed charged currents in the quark sector. We find that the EDMs arise already at two loop order that are much larger than the standard model (SM) result even for a small mixing.
Investigations of CP violation in hadron sector may be done using measurements in the ThO molecule. Recent measurements in this molecule improved the limit on electron EDM by an order of magnitude. Another time reversal (T) and parity (P) violating effect in $^{229}$ThO is induced by the nuclear magnetic quadrupole moment. We have performed nuclear and molecular calculations to express this effect in terms of the strength constants of T,P-odd nuclear forces, neutron EDM, QCD vacuum angle $θ$, quark EDM and chromo-EDM.
CP violation effects produced by the nuclear magnetic quadrupole moment (MQM), electron electric dipole moment (EDM) and scalar$-$pseudoscalar nucleus$-$electron neutral current (SP) interaction in $^{177}$Hf$^{19}$F$^+$ and $^{179}$Hf$^{19}$F$^+$ are calculated. The role of the hyperfine interaction is investigated. It is shown that the MQM shift can be distinguished from the electron EDM and SP ones due to the implicit dependence of MQM shift on the hyperfine sublevel. The MQM effect is expressed in terms of the proton (EDM), QCD vacuum angle $θ$ and quark chromo-EDMs.
We analyze the general structure of four-fermion operators capable of introducing CP-violation preferentially in Bs mixing within the framework of Minimal Flavor Violation. The effect requires a minimum of O(Yu^4 Yd^4) Yukawa insertions, and at this order we find a total of six operators with different Lorentz, color, and flavor contractions that lead to enhanced Bs mixing. We then estimate the impact of these operators and of their close relatives on the possible sizes of electric dipole moments (EDMs) of neutrons and heavy atoms. We identify two broad classes of such operators: those that gi…
The recent experimental status, including the confirmation of the muon $g-2$ anomaly at Fermilab, indicates a Beyond Standard Model (BSM) satisfying the following properties: 1) it enhances the $g-2$ 2) suppresses flavor violations, such as $μ\to e γ$, 3) suppresses CP violations, such as the electron electric dipole moment (EDM). In this letter, I show that if the masses of heavy leptons are generated radiatively, the eigenbasis of the mass matrix and higher dimensional photon operators can be automatically aligned. As a result, the muon $g-2$ is enhanced but the EDM of the electron and $μ\to…
We derive bounds on the electric and chromo-electric dipole moments of the charm quark. The second one turns out to be particularly strong, and we quantify its impact on models that allow for a sizeable flavour violation in the up quark sector, like flavour alignment and Generic U(2)^3. In particular we show how the bounds coming from the charm and up CEDMs constrain the size of new physics contributions to direct flavour violation in D decays. We also specialize our analysis to the cases of Supersymmetry with split families and composite Higgs models. The results exposed in this paper motivat…
