We report a measurement of the branching fractions for $B^{0} \rightarrow π^- \ell^+ν$ and $B^{0} \rightarrow ρ^-\ell^+ν$ decays, using charged and neutral $B$ decays with isospin constraints. We find ${\cal B}(B^{0} \rightarrow π^- \ell^+ν} = (1.41 \pm 0.05 \pm 0.07) \times 10^{-4}$, and ${\cal B}(B^{0} \rightarrow ρ^-\ell^+ν} = (1.75 \pm 0.15 \pm 0.27) \times 10^{-4}$, where the first error is statistical and the second is systematic. We measure $Δ{\cal B}/Δq^2$, with 6 $q^2$ bins for $B^{0} \rightarrow π^- \ell^+ν$ and 3 \q2 bins for $B^{0} \rightarrow ρ^-\ell^+ν$, and compare the distributions in data with theoretical predictions for the form factors. We use these branching fractions and form-factor calculations to determine $|V_{ub}|$. Based on a combined fit to the FNAL/MILC lattice QCD calculation and data over the full $q^2$ range, we find $|V_{ub}| = (2.95 \pm 0.31) \times 10^{-3}$.
We present the measurements of the CKM matrix parameters Vub, Vcb and of the B mixing oscillation frequency with the BaBar experiment at the asymmetric B-factory PEPII. Data were collected in the years 2000-2002 and the total available statistics corresponds to 91 fb-1. The Vub, Vcb measurements utilize both inclusive and exclusive semileptonic decays of the $B$ meson. The Delta(md) parameter is measured by using the time evolution of the B, determined from the flight length difference between the two B mesons.
We present a preliminary measurement of the branching fraction for B to rho e nu and of the CKM matrix element |Vub| using approximately 55 million B Bbar meson pairs collected with the BABAR detector. Using isospin relations for several modes we find BF(B0 to rho- e+ nu) = (3.39+-0.44+-0.52+-0.60)x10^(-4) and |Vub| = (3.69+-0.23+-0.27+0.40-0.59)x10^(-3). The quoted errors are statistical, systematic, and theoretical, respectively. These results are obtained by using five different form-factor calculations.
We present a measurement of the branching fraction for the rare decays B->rho e nu and extract a value for the magnitude of Vub, one of the smallest elements of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa quark-mixing matrix. The results are given for five different calculations of form factors used to parametrize the hadronic current in semileptonic decays. Using a sample of 55 million BBbar meson pairs recorded with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e+e- storage ring, we obtain Br(B0->rho- e+ nu)=(3.29 +-0.42 +-0.47 +-0.60) x 10^-4 and |Vub|=(3.64 +-0.22 +-0.25 +0.39-0.56)x10^-3, where the uncertainties ar…
The determination of the Vub element of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) quark mixing matrix plays a central role in testing the Standard Model (SM) interpretation of CP violation. Measurements at B-Factories are contributing with results that rely on different theoretical assumptions. Recent inclusive and exclusive results from CLEO, BaBar and BELLE are reviewed.
BaBar measurements involving semileptonic decays of B mesons are reviewed. Attention is focused on the extraction of |Vub| and |Vcb| elements of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa quark mixing matrix. Recent results of inclusive and exclusive approaches are presented.
We present an analysis of exclusive charmless semileptonic B-meson decays based on 83 million BBbar pairs recorded with the BABAR detector at the Upsilon(4S) resonance. Using isospin symmetry, we measure branching fractions B(B0 --> pi- l+ nu) = (1.38 +- 0.10 +- 0.16 +- 0.08) x 10^-4 and B(B0 --> rho- l+ nu) = (2.14 +- 0.21 +- 0.48 +- 0.28) x 10^-4, where the errors are statistical, experimental systematic, and due to form-factor shape uncertainties. We compare the measured distribution in q^2, the momentum-transfer squared, with theoretical predictions for the form factors from lattice QCD an…
We present some recent BABAR measurements of the magnitudes of the elements Vub and Vcb of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa quark-mixing matrix, and of the angles alpha and gamma of the unitary triangle of the standard model of the electroweak interactions. Most of the measurements presented here are based on the full BABAR Y(4S) dataset, consisting of about 467 million B anti-B pairs.
We report on determinations of |Vub| resulting from studies of the branching fraction and q^2 distributions in exclusive semileptonic B decays that proceed via the b->u transition. Our data set consists of the 9.7x10^6 BBbar meson pairs collected at the Y(4S) resonance with the CLEO II detector. We measure B(B0 -> pi- l+ nu) = (1.33 +- 0.18 +- 0.11 +- 0.01 +- 0.07)x10^{-4} and B(B0 -> rho- l+ nu) = (2.17 +- 0.34 +0.47/-0.54 +- 0.41 +- 0.01)x10^{-4}, where the errors are statistical, experimental systematic, systematic due to residual form-factor uncertainties in the signal, and systematic due …
I report results from the CLEO collaboration on semileptonic B decays, highlighting measurements of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix elements Vcb and Vub. I describe the techniques used to obtain the recent improvements in precision for these measurements, including the use of the b -> s gamma photon spectrum to reduce hadronic uncertainties in semileptonic B decays. I also report new measurements of Vcb using the inclusive semileptonic branching fraction BF(B -> X e nu) and of Vub through study of the q^2 dependence of B -> pi l nu and B -> rho l nu.
We report a measurement of the B -> pi l nu branching fraction based on 211 fb-1 of data collected with the BABAR detector. We use samples of B0 and B+ mesons tagged by a second B meson reconstructed in a semileptonic or hadronic decay, and combine the results assuming isospin symmetry to obtain BF(B0 -> pi- l+ nu) = (1.33 +/- 0.17(stat) +/- 0.11(syst)) x 10^-4. We determine the magnitude of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element |Vub| by combining the partial branching fractions measured in ranges of the momentum transfer squared and theoretical calculations of the form factor. Using a …
We present a measurement of the inclusive electron spectrum in charmless semileptonic B decays near the kinematic limit for B->X_c eνtransitions, using a sample of 88 million Upsilon(4S) decays recorded by the BABAR detector. Partial branching fraction measurements are performed in five overlapping intervals of the electron momentum. For the interval of 2.0-2.6 GeV/c we obtain ΔBr(B->X_u eν) = (0.572+-0.041(stat)+-0.065(syst))x10^{-3}. Combining this result with shape function parameters extracted from BABAR measurements of moments of the inclusive photon spectrum in B->X_s+gamma decays and mo…
We overview recent measurements in B -> rho rho decays which are based on data samples collected at the PEP-II and KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- colliders with the BABAR and Belle detectors. Special emphasis is given to the determination of the CP-violating coefficients A and S from an analysis of B -> rho+ rho- decays. The values of A and S, branching fractions, and longitudinal polarization fractions of B -> rho rho decays are used to constrain the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa phase alpha/phi2 using an isospin analysis; the solution consistent with the standard model is 71 deg. < alpha < 113 deg.…
We present a determination of the CKM matrix element |Vub| based on the analysis of semileptonic B decays from a sample of 88 million Upsilon(4S) decays collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e+e- storage ring. Charmless semileptonic B decays are selected using measurements of the electron energy and the invariant mass squared of the electron-neutrino pair. We obtain |Vub| = (3.95 +/- 0.26 ^{+0.58}_{-0.42} +/- 0.25) x 10^{-3}, where the errors represent experimental uncertainties, heavy quark parameter uncertainties, and theoretical uncertainties, respectively.
We report recent results from the BABAR experiment on semileptonic charmless B-meson decays and electroweak penguin processes. Semileptonic charmless decays are used to determine |Vub| and the exclusive modes considered here also begin to constrain QCD-lattice form factor calculations. Radiative penguin decays are both sensitive to physics beyond the Standard Model and can be used to extract Heavy Quark parameters related to the b-quark mass and its motion inside the hadron.
The BABAR collaboration measurements of the B -> pipi, B -> rhopi and B -> rhorho decays are presented. New results, from a 113 fb-1 data sample, on the time-dependent CP asymmetries of the longitudinally polarized component of the B0 -> rho+rho- channel are S_{rhorho,long}=-0.19 +/- 0.33 +/- 0.11 and C_{rhorho,long}=-0.23 +/- 0.24 +/- 0.14. Constraints on the Unitarity Triangle angle alpha from the pipi and the rhorho systems are derived.
We report preliminary results from a study of the charmless exclusive semileptonic decay B0 -> pi- l+ nu based on the data collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance using the BABAR detector at SLAC. The analysis uses events in which the signal B meson recoils against a B meson that has been reconstructed in a semileptonic decay B0bar -> D(*)+ l- nubar. We extract the total branching fraction BF(B0 -> pi- l+ nu) = (1.03 +/- 0.25(stat.) +/- 0.13(syst.)) x 10^-4 and the partial branching fractions in three bins of q^2, the invariant mass squared of the lepton-neutrino system. From the partial branch…
We report the results of a study of the exclusive charmless semileptonic B0->pilnu decay undertaken with approximately 227 million BBbar pairs collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector. The analysis uses events in which the signal B mesons are reconstructed with a novel loose neutrino reconstruction technique. We obtain partial branching fractions in 12 bins of q2, the l+nu invariant mass squared, from which we extract the f+(q2) form factor shape and the total branching fraction: BF(B0->pilnu) = (1.44 +- 0.08(stat) +- 0.10(syst))x 10-4. Based on a recent theoretical calcu…
We present a preliminary determination of the CKM matrix element |Vub| based on the analysis of semileptonic B decays from a sample of 88 million Upsilon(4S) decays collected with the BaBar detector at the e+e- storage ring. Charmless semileptonic B decays are selected using the electron energy E_e and the invariant mass q^2 of the electron-neutrino pair. The neutrino momentum is inferred from a measurement of the visible energy and momentum in the detector and knowledge of the e+e- beam momenta. The partial branching fraction is determined in a region of the q^2-E_e plane where semileptonic B…
The Belle and BaBar experiments have measured branching fractions and CP asymmetries in the charmless decay modes B0->pi+pi-, B0->rho+pi-/rho-pi+, and B0->rho+rho-. From these measurements, constraints upon the CKM angle phi_2 can be obtained. These constraints consistently indicate that phi_2 is around 100 degrees.
We present results of B -> vector-vector (VV) and B -> vector-axial vector (VA) decays B0 -> phi X (X = phi, rho+ or rho0), B+ -> phi K(*)+, B0 -> K*K*, B0 -> rho+b_1- and B+ -> K*0a_1+. The largest dataset used for these results is based on 465 * 10^6 Y(4S) -> BB decays, collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II B meson factory located at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC).
We report the results of a study of the exclusive charmless semileptonic decay, B --> pi l nu, undertaken with approximately 227 million BBbar pairs collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the BaBar detector. The analysis uses events in which the signal B decays are reconstructed with an innovative loose neutrino reconstruction technique. We obtain partial branching fractions in 12 bins of q2, the momentum transfer squared, from which we extract the f+(q2) form-factor shape and the total branching fraction BF(B0 --> pi l nu) = (1.46 +- 0.07(stat) +- 0.08(syst)) x 10^-4. Based on a recent u…
We measure partial branching fractions for the inclusive charmless semileptonic decay of $\Bxulnu$, and present determinations of the CKM matrix element $\Vub$. This analysis is based on a sample of 467 million $\FourS$ decays into $\BB$ pairs, collected with the \babar\ detector at the PEP-II $e^{+} e^{-}$ storage rings. We select events where one of the B mesons is fully reconstructed in a hadronic decay mode and the other B decays semileptonically into an electron or a muon. We then use the invariant mass, $\mx$, of the hadronic system, the invariant mass squared, $q^{2}$, of the lepton and…
With a sample of about 227 million BB pairs recorded with the BABAR detector we perform a full angular analysis of the decay B0->phi K*0(892). Ten measurements include polarization, phases, and five CP asymmetries. We also observe the decay B0->phi K*0(1430). Polarization measurements are performed with the B->rho K*(892), B->rho rho, B->rho omega decay modes, and limits are set on the B->omega K*(892) decay rates. These measurements help to understand the puzzle of large fraction of transverse polarization observed in B->phi K* decays and allow for new ways to study CP violation and potential…
We report recent results in the search for the rare B meson decays B-->rho gamma and B0-->pi0 pi0. These results are based on 56.4 1/fb collected by the BaBar Collaboration at the SLAC PEP-II e+e- B Factory. We set new 90% confidence level upper limits BR(B0 --> rho0 gamma) < 1.5 x 10^-6, BR(B+ --> rho+ gamma) < 2.8 x 10^-6, and BR(B0 --> pi0 pi0) < 3.4 x 10^-6.
We report measurements of branching fractions for the decays B --> P l nu, where P are the pseudoscalar charmless mesons pi-, pi0, eta and eta', based on 348 fb-1 of data collected with the BABAR detector, using B0 and B+ mesons found in the recoil of a second B meson decaying as B --> D(*) l nu. Assuming isospin symmetry, we combine pionic branching fractions to obtain B(B0 --> pi- l+ nu) = (1.54 +/- 0.17(stat) +/- 0.09(syst)) x 10-4; we find 3.2 sigma evidence of the decay B+ --> eta l+ nu and measure its branching fraction to be (0.64 +/- 0.20 (stat) +/- 0.03 (syst)) x 10-4, and determine B…
We report updates on two analyses of inclusive semileptonic B decays based on a dataset of 89 million BB events recorded with the BABAR detector at the Y(4S) resonance. Events are selected by fully reconstructing the decay of one B meson and identifying a charged lepton from the decay of the other B meson. In the first analysis, the measurement of the first and second moment of the hadronic mass distribution in Cabibbo-favored B ->X_c l nu decays allows for the determination of the nonperturbative parameters $\barΛ$ and $λ_1$ of Heavy Quark Effective Theory (HQET) and |Vcb|. In the second anal…
Based on 88 million Y(4S)->BB decays collected by the BaBar experiment at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B factory at SLAC, we report preliminary results of four analyses which study in semileptonic charmless B decays, B->Xulnu and measure Vub. In events in which one B meson decay to a hadronic final state is fully reconstructed, the semileptonic decay of the second B meson is identified by the detection of a charged lepton. From both the spectrum of the mass of the hadronic system (mX) and the two-dimensional distribution of mX and q^2 we derive the charmless semileptonic branching fraction and…
Using BaBar measurements of the inclusive electron spectrum in B->X_u e nu decays and the inclusive photon spectrum in B->X_s gamma decays, we extract the magnitude of the CKM matrix element Vub. The extraction is based on theoretical calculations designed to reduce the theoretical uncertainties by exploiting the assumption that the leading shape functions are the same for all b->q transitions (q is a light quark). The results agree well with the previous analysis, have indeed smaller theoretical errors, but are presently limited by the knowledge of the photon spectrum and the experimental err…
We present results on semileptonic B decays obtained with the BABAR detector. The large data set accumulated at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B-Factory allows a new measurement technique, where the hadronic decay of one B meson is fully reconstructed and the semileptonic decay of the recoiling B meson is studied. Traditional analysis techniques of inclusive and exclusive B decays complement this approach with very high statistics data samples. These measurements play an important role in the tests of the description of CP violation in the Standard Model: The determinations of the Cabibbo-Kobaya…
We present direct CP violation measurements using the full BaBar dataset of 471 million BBbar pairs for the following charmless B decays: B0-->rho0Kstar0, B0-->f0Kstar0, B0-->rho-Kstar+ and for the Dalitz plots of B+-->K+K-K+, B+-->KsKsK+ and B0-->KsK+K-.
We present recent measurements of the CKM angles alpha and gamma using data collected by the BaBar detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e+ e- collider at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center. In addition to constraints on alpha from the decays B0 -> pi+ pi-, B0 -> rho+ pi- and B0 -> rho+ rho-, we also report the first measurement of time-dependent CP asymmetries in the decay B0 -> a1+(1260) pi-. We present measurements of gamma in B+ -> D(*)0 K+ decays using a Dalitz analysis in the modes D^0 -> Ks pi+ pi- and D^0 -> pi+ pi- pi0.
The total B->Xs gamma decay rate and the CKM-matrix element Vub play an important role in finding indirect evidence for new physics affecting the flavor sector of the Standard Model, complementary to direct searches at the LHC and Tevatron. Their determination from inclusive B-meson decays requires the precise knowledge of the parton distribution function of the b quark in the B meson, called the shape function. We implement a new model-independent framework for the shape function with reliable uncertainties based on an expansion in a suitable set of basis functions. We present the current sta…
We study the inclusive electron spectrum of B->X_u e nu decays near the kinematic limit for B->X_c e nu transitions using a sample of 88 million Upsilon(4S) decays recorded by the BABAR detector at the PEP II e+e- storage rings. For the electron momentum interval of 2.0 - 2.6 GeV/c the partial branching fraction is measured to be DeltaB(B->X_u e nu) = (0.480 +/- 0.029_{stat} +/- 0.053_{syst})x10^{-3}. Combining this result on with measurements of the inclusive photon spectrum in B->X_s gamma transition we find |V_ub|=(3.94 +/- 0.25_{exp} +/- 0.37_{f_u} +/- 0.19_{theory})x10^{-3}, where the fir…
Based on the full BaBar data sample of 466.5 million BBbar pairs, we present measurements of the electron spectrum from semileptonic B meson decays. We fit the inclusive electron spectrum to distinguish Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) suppressed B -> Xu e nu decays from the CKM-favored B -> Xc e nu decays, and from various other backgrounds, and determine the total semileptonic branching fraction BR(B -> X e nu) = (10.34 +- 0.04_stat +- 0.26_syst)%, averaged over B+- and B0 mesons. We determine the spectrum and branching fraction for charmless B -> Xu e nu decays and extract the CKM element |V…

We report recent measurements of the CKM angle alpha using data collected by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e+e- collider at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. In addition to improved constraints on alpha from the decays B+ -> rho+ rho0, we also present preliminary results of neutral and charged B meson decays to K_1(1270) pi and K_1(1400) pi and its impact on the estimate for the CKM angle alpha based on time-dependent analysis of CP-violating asymmetries in B0 -> a_1(1260) pi. Moreover we report the first observation of the decay B -> a_1(1260)+ a_1(1260)-; this mo…
We present the most recent searches for lepton-flavor-violating tau decays in BaBar. We find no evidence of tau decaying to three charged leptons or to a charged lepton and a neutral meson (KS, rho, phi, K*0, anti-K*0), and set upper limits on the corresponding branching fractions between 1.8 and 19 times 10-8 at 90% confidence level.

The results are obtained from a data sample of up to 347 million BBbar pairs produced by e+e- annihilation at the Y(4S) resonance collected with the BaBar detector at the PEP-2 asymmetric-energy B-meson Factory at SLAC.
We have observed the rare decay B0->rho+rho- in a sample of 89 million BBbar pairs recorded with the BABAR detector. We measure the branching fraction B(B0->rho+rho-)=(27+7-6+5-7)10^-6 and determine the longitudinal polarization fraction Gamma_L/Gamma=0.99+0.01-0.07+-0.03. Our results are preliminary.
Recent BABAR and Belle results on rare B decays involving photons or lepton pairs are reviewed. New preliminary limits from both experiments for B-->rho gamma and B-->omega gamma, and from BABAR for B --> K nu nu and B --> tau nu are presented. Also summarized from the past year are Belle measurements of B-->Xs l+l- and B0-->K2(1430) gamma, preliminary BABAR measurements of B-->Xs gamma, and preliminary results from BABAR and Belle on B-->K(*)l+l-. No significant deviations from Standard Model predictions have yet been found.
The B --> rho0 rho0 decay mode is searched for in a data sample of about 227 million Upsilon(4S) --> B Bbar decays collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric B factory at SLAC. No significant signal is observed, and an upper limit of 1.1 x 10e-6 (90% C.L.) on the branching fraction is set. Implications on the penguin contribution and constraints on the CKM angle alpha with B --> rho rho decays are discussed. All results are preliminary.

Using an isospin analysis of B -> rho rho decays we determine the unitarity triangle alpha. The solution compatible with the Standard Model is alpha = (100 +- 13) degrees.
The time-dependent CP asymmetries in fully reconstructed B0 --> D(*)pi/rho decays (new preliminary result), and in partially reconstructed B0 --> D(*)pi decays, are measured with the BaBar detector at the PEP-II asymmetric B factory at SLAC, using 232 million Y(4S) -> BB decays. We combine the above results and, using other measurements and theoretical assumptions, we interpret them in terms of the angles of the unitarity triangle describing the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix. We find |sin(2beta+gamma)|>0.64(0.42) at 68%(90%) confidence level using a frequentistic approach and |2beta+gamma|=…

The branching fraction and CP asymmetry are found to be BR(B+ --> rho+ pi0)= [10.2 +- 1.4(stat) +- 0.9(syst)] x 10^-6 and Acp (B+ --> rho+ pi0) = -0.01 +- 0.13(stat) +- 0.02(syst).
We present results from an analysis of B0->rho+rho- using 316fb^-1 of Y(4S) -> B0B0bar decays observed with the BaBar detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B Factory at SLAC. We measure the B0->rho+rho- branching fraction, longitudinal polarization fraction fL, and the CP-violating parameters S_LONG and C_LONG: B(B0->rho+rho-) = (23.5 +/- 2.2 [stat] +/- 4.1 [syst]) * 10^-6, fL = 0.977 +/- 0.024 [stat] +0.015/-0.013 [syst] S_LONG = -0.19 +/- 0.21 [stat] +0.05/-0.07 [syst] C_LONG = -0.07 +/- 0.15 [stat] +/- 0.06 [syst] Using an isospin analysis of B->rhorho decays we determine the angle alpha…
b to s transitions are flavour-changing neutral current (FCNC) processes that play an important role in the search for physics beyond the Standard Model (SM). Contributions from virtual particles in the loop are predicted to deviate observables, such as the branching fraction, from their SM expectations. Using data from the BaBar experiment, we present the first search for the rare decay B to K tau tau. The BABAR results on the measurement of the angular asymmetries of B to Kstar l l, where l is an electron or muon, are also reported. In addition, using a time-dependent analysis of B to KS0 pi…
We present branching fraction measurements for the radiative decays B+ -> rho+ gamma, B0 -> rho0 gamma, and B0 -> omega gamma. The analysis is based on a data sample of 465 million BBbar events collected with the BaBar detector at the PEP-II asymmetric B factory. We find BR(B+ -> rho+ gamma) = (1.20 +0.42 -0.37 +/-0.20) x 10^-6, BR(B0 -> rho0 gamma) = (0.97 +0.24 -0.22 +/-0.06) x 10^-6, and a 90% C.L. upper limit BR(B0 -> omega gamma) < 0.9 x 10^-6, where the first error is statistical and the second is systematic. We also measure the isospin-violating quantities Gamma(B+ -> rho+ gamma) / 2Gam…
We present the preliminary result of a search for the decay of $B^0\to K^{*+}ρ^-$. The data were recorded with the $BaBar$ detector at the PEPII collider and correspond to 123 million $B\bar{B}$ pairs produced in the $e^+e^-$ annihilation through the $Υ(4S)$ resonance. We obtain an upper limit on the branching fraction for this decay of ${\cal B}(B^0\to K^{*+}ρ^-) <24 \times 10^{-6}$ (90% C.L.). All results are preliminary.
Using a data sample of 122 million Upsilon(4S) -> BBbar decays collected with BaBar detector at the PEP-II asymmetric B factory at SLAC, we measure the time-dependent-asymmetry parameters of the longitudinally polarized component in the B0 -> rho^+ rho^- decay as C_L = -0.23 +/- 0.24 (stat) +/- 0.14 (syst) and S_L = -0.19 +/- 0.33 (stat) +/- 0.11 (syst). The B0 -> rho0 rho0 decay mode is also searched for in a data sample of about 227 million BBbar pairs. No significant signal is observed, and an upper limit of 1.1 * 10-6 (90% C.L.) on the branching fraction is set. The penguin contribution to…
We present preliminary measurements of branching fractions and CP-violating charge asymmetries in B-meson decays to rho pi. The data sample comprises 89 million Y(4S) --> BBbar decays collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B Factory at SLAC. We find the charge-averaged branching fractions B(B+ --> rho+ pi0) = (11.0 +/- 1.9(stat.) +/- 1.9(syst.)) * 10^-6 and B(B+ --> rho0 pi+) = (9.3 +/-1.0(stat.) +/- 0.8(syst.)) * 10^-6; we set a 90% confidence-level upper limit of B(B0 --> rho0 pi0) < 2.5 * 10^-6. We measure the CP-violating charge asymmetries A_CP(rho+ pi0) = 0.23 …
