We study the spectrum of an integrable antiferromagnetic Hamiltonian of the gl(M|N) spin chain of alternating fundamental and dual representations. After extensive numerical analysis, we identify the vacuum and low lying excitations and with this knowledge perform the continuum limit, while keeping a finite gap. All gl(n+N|N) spin chains with n,N>0 are shown to possess in the continuum limit 2n-2 multiplets of massive particles which scatter with gl(n) Gross-Neveu like S-matrices, namely their eigenvalues do not depend on N. We argue that the continuum theory is the gl(M|N) Gross-Neveu model. We then look for remaining particles in the gl(2m|1) chains. The results suggest there is a continuum of such particles, which in order to be fully understood require finite volume calculations.

We consider the entanglement Hamiltonian for an interval in a chain of free fermions in its ground state and show that the lattice expression goes over into the conformal one if one includes the hopping to distant neighbours in the continuum limit. For an infinite chain, this can be done analytically for arbitrary fillings and is shown to be the consequence of the particular structure of the entanglement Hamiltonian, while for finite rings or temperatures the result is based on numerical calculations.
We study the Rényi entropy and subsystem distances on one interval for the finite size and thermal states in the critical XY chains, focusing on the critical Ising chain and XX chain with zero transverse field. We construct numerically the reduced density matrices and calculate the von Neumann entropy, Rényi entropy, subsystem trace distance, Schatten two-distance, and relative entropy. As the continuum limit of the critical Ising chain and XX chain with zero field are, respectively, the two-dimensional free massless Majorana and Dirac fermion theories, which are conformal field theories, we c…
Associative algebraic approach to logarithmic CFT in the bulk: the continuum limit of the gl(1|1) periodic spin chain, Howe duality and the interchiral algebra
Building on our previous work for $a_2^{(2)}$ and $a_3^{(2)}$ we explore systematically the continuum limit of gapless $a_{N-1}^{(2)}$ vertex models and spin chains. We find the existence of three possible regimes. Regimes I and II for $a_{2n-1}^{(2)}$ are related with $a_{2n-1}^{(2)}$ Toda, and described by $n$ compact bosons. Regime I for $a_{2n}^{(2)}$ is related with $a_{2n}^{(2)}$ Toda and involves $n$ compact bosons, while regime II is related instead with $B^{(1)}(0,n)$ super Toda, and involves in addition a single Majorana fermion. The most interesting is regime III, where {\sl non-com…
A Numerical Renormalization Group for Continuum One-Dimensional Systems
We study the continuum limit of the entanglement hamiltonians of a block of consecutive sites in massless harmonic chains. This block is either in the chain on the infinite line or at the beginning of a chain on the semi-infinite line with Dirichlet boundary conditions imposed at its origin. The entanglement hamiltonians of the interval predicted by Conformal Field Theory for the massless scalar field are obtained in the continuum limit. We also study the corresponding entanglement spectra and the numerical results for the ratios of the gaps are compatible with the operator content of the Boun…
We consider the continuum limit of 4d planar fishnet diagrams using integrable spin chain methods borrowed from the $\mathcal{N}=4$ Super-Yang-Mills theory. These techniques give us control on the scaling dimensions of single-trace operators for all values of the coupling constant in the fishnet theory. We use them to study the thermodynamical limit of the BMN operator corresponding to the spin chain ferromagnetic vacuum. We find that its scaling dimension exhibits a critical behaviour when the coupling constant approaches Zamolodchikov's critical coupling. Analysis close to that point suggest…
We study a string bit Hamiltonian whose continuum limit describes anti-periodic (AP) anti-commuting worldsheet fields. We calculate the amplitude for transitions between an AP spin chain and a periodic (P) one in the continuum limit, M-> infinity where M is the bit number of either chain. We also numerically evaluate the corresponding amplitudes at increasing finite M to assess the convergence rate to the continuum. We then give the overlap equations for the transition AP+AP->AP, and numerically solve them for increasing $M$ values at a fixed value of x=K/M, where M is the bit number of the la…
In this paper we explain how 4-dimensional general relativity and in particular, the Einstein equation, emerge from the spinfoam amplitude in loop quantum gravity. We propose a new limit which couples both the semiclassical limit and continuum limit of spinfoam amplitudes. The continuum Einstein equation emerges in this limit. Solutions of Einstein equation can be approached by dominant configurations in spinfoam amplitudes. A running scale is naturally associated to the sequence of refined triangulations. The continuum limit corresponds to the infrared limit of the running scale. An important…
We study 1-dimensional chains of ghost-spins with nearest neighbour interactions amongst them, developing further the study of ghost-spins in previous work, defined as 2-state spin variables with indefinite norm. First we study finite ghost-spin chains with Ising-like nearest neighbour interactions: this helps organize and clarify the study of entanglement earlier and we develop this further. Then we study a family of infinite ghost-spin chains with a different Hamiltonian containing nearest neighbour hopping-type interactions. By defining fermionic ghost-spin variables through a Jordan-Wigner…
The long range spin chains play an important role in the gauge/string duality. The aim of this paper is to generalize the recently introduced transfer matrices of integrable medium range spin chains to long range models. These transfer matrices define a large set of conserved charges for every length of the spin chain. These charges agree with the original definition of long range spin chains for infinite length. However, our construction works for every length, providing the definition of integrable finite size long range spin chains whose spectrum already contains the wrapping corrections.
