A subtracted dispersive representation of the $Kπ$ vector form factor, $F_+^{Kπ}$, is used to fit the Belle spectrum of $\tauKpi$ decays incorporating constraints from results on $K_{l3}$ decays. Through the use of three subtractions, the slope and curvature of $F_+^{Kπ}$ are obtained directly from the data yielding $λ_+'=(25.49 \pm 0.31) \times 10^{-3}$ and $λ_+"= (12.22 \pm 0.14) \times 10^{-4}$. The phase-space integrals relevant for $K_{l3}$ analyses are calculated. Additionally, from the pole position on the second Riemann sheet the mass and width of the $K^*(892)^\pm$ are found to be $m_{K^*(892)^\pm}= 892.0\pm 0.5$ MeV and $Γ_{K^*(892)^\pm}= 46.5 \pm 1.1$ MeV. Finally, we study the $P$-wave isospin-1/2 $Kπ$ phase-shift and its threshold parameters.
Recently, the tau --> K pi nu_tau decay spectrum has been measured by the Belle and BaBar collaborations. In this work, we present an analysis of such decays introducing a dispersive parametrization for the vector and scalar Kpi form factors. This allows for precise tests of the Standard Model. For instance, the determination of f_+(0)|V_{us}| from these decays is discussed. A comparison and a combination of these results with the analyses of the K_{l3} decays is also considered.

An accurate low-energy dispersive parametrization of the scalar Kpi form factor was constructed some time ago in terms of a single parameter guided by the Callan-Treiman low-energy theorem. A similar twice subtracted dispersive parametrization for the vector Kpi form factor will be investigated here. The robustness of the parametrization of these two form factors will be studied in great detail. In particular the cut-off dependence, the isospin breaking effects and the possible, though not highly probable, presence of zeros in the form factors will be discussed. Interesting constraints in the …
Constraining CKM parameters from charmless hadronic B decays requires methods for addressing the hadronic uncertainties. A complete technique is presented, using relations between amplitudes in the B, Bs -> pipi, Kpi, KK system obtained in the exact SU(3) symmetry limit, without having to neglect annihilation/exchange topologies. Naive SU(3)-breaking effects in the decay amplitudes are taken into account, through the inclusion of pi and K decay constants in the normalisations and conservative theoretical errors. Already with the limited set of observables currently available, significant const…
We investigate how precisely the CP nature of the 125 GeV Higgs boson, parametrized by a scalar-pseudoscalar Higgs mixing angle, can be determined in Higgs-to-tau-pair decay with subsequent tau-lepton decays to charged prongs at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). We combine two methods in order to define an observable which is sensitive to this scalar-pseudoscalar mixing angle: We use the rho-decay plane method for tau-to-rho decays and the impact parameter method for all other major tau decays. For estimating the precision with which the mixing angle can be measured at the LHC (13 TeV) we take …
The $Kπ$ vector form factor, $F_+^{Kπ}$, used to reproduce the Belle spectrum of $\tauKpi$ decays is described by means of a three-times subtracted dispersion relation also incorporating constraints from $K_{l3}$ decays. The recent measurements of the Michel parameters in tau decays enable, for the first time, a thorough analysis of the leptonic sector. In general, in models beyond the Standard Model, these parameters will be altered through changes in the W and Z couplings, and/or through interactions mediated by new gauge bosons. We perform a complete, model independent analysis of the constraints imposed by the present data on such boson-mediated interactions, and point out the existence of useful relations among the couplings.
The measurement of quantum entanglement can provide a new and most sensitive probe to physics beyond the Standard Model. We use the concurrence of the top-quark pair spin states produced at colliders to constrain the magnetic dipole term in the coupling between top quark and gluons, that of $τ$-lepton pairs spin states to bound contact interactions and that of $τ$-lepton pairs or two-photons spin states from the decay of the Higgs boson in trying to distinguish between CP-even and odd couplings. These four examples show the power of the new approach as well as its limitations. We show that dif…
We derive expressions for strangeness-changing scalar form factors, which incorporate known theoretical constraints both at low and high energies. Their leading behaviour in the limit of a large number of colours is calculated from the resonance chiral Lagrangian. A set of short-distance constraints on the scalar resonance couplings is obtained, imposing the form factors to vanish at infinite momentum transfer. Making use of previous results on S-wave KPi scattering [1], and a coupled--channel dispersion-relation analysis, the KPi, KEta and KEta' scalar form factors are calculated up to 2 GeV.…
We present a reanalysis of nonstandard neutrino-down-quark interactions of electron and tau neutrinos using solar, reactor and accelerator data. In addition updating the analysis by including new solar data from SNO phase III and Borexino, as well as new KamLAND data and solar fluxes, a key role is played in our analysis by the combination of these results with the CHARM data. The latter allows us to better constrain the axial and axial-vector electron and tau-neutrino nonstandard interaction parameters characterizing the deviations from the Standard Model predictions.
We consider the sensitivity of the DUNE experiment to a heavy neutral lepton, HNL (also known as sterile neutrino) in the mass range from a few MeV to a few GeV, interacting with the Standard Model via a transition magnetic moment to the active neutrinos, the so-called dipole portal. The HNL is produced via the upscattering of active neutrinos, and the subsequent decay inside the detector provides a single-photon signal. We show that the tau-neutrino dipole portal can be efficiently probed at the DUNE far detector, using the tau-neutrino flux generated by neutrino oscillations, while the near …
We propose to utilize the transverse mass variable $M_{T2}$ and it's descendant $M_{2Cons}$ for constraining the CP admixture of the tau lepton Yukawa coupling at the LHC. We have considered the tau lepton pair produced from the Higgs boson with each tau decays to a charged pion and a neutrino, $τ^{\pm} \rightarrow π^{\pm} ν_τ$. Recently, for this channel, the LHC has employed the impact parameter method to measure the CP mixing angle of tau lepton Yukawa coupling with large uncertainty. The observables we propose here can be measured in the lab frame without the impact parameter measurement a…
In a supersymmetric model with the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP) $χ$ in the range of a few hundred MeV's, the decay $τ{\longrightarrow} μχχ$ is going to be allowed. We investigate the departure from tau-universality caused by this decay. It is found that the universality violation in this way can be greater than both non-universal electroweak radiative corrections and supersymmetric one-loop corrections over a considerable region of the parameter space allowed by experiments so far. Thus it suggests a method of constraining the parameter space with light LSP's using data from tau-fact…
In this article we consider the possibility of observing nonstandard Higgs bosons in the H -> Z A -> Z tau+ tau- channel. We present three benchmark scenarios in the NMSSM where H -> ZA is the dominant decay mode for one of the nonstandard Higgs bosons while the lightest CP-even Higgs is Standard Model like. Using the latest CMS multilepton analysis based on 7 TeV LHC data, we put limits on the signal cross-section, which constrain leptophilic scenarios. Projecting to future LHC analyses with improvements in background modeling, we show that with O(30) fb^{-1} of data, such a multilepton analy…
We show that the transverse polarization asymmetry of the $τ$-lepton in the decay $t\rightarrow b τν$ is extremely sensitive to CP violating phases arising from the charged Higgs exchange in the Weinberg model of CP non-conservation. Qualitatively, the polarization asymmetries are enhanced over rate or energy asymmetries by a factor of $\approx {m_t\over m_τ}\approx O(100)$. Thus for optimal values of the parameters the method requires $\approx 10^4$ top pairs to be observable rather than $10^7$ needed for rate or energy asymmetries. We also examine $τ$ polarization in b decays via $b \rightar…
Use of semi-leptonic decays has become standard in constraining the Unitarity Triangle. Bearing in mind that precise calculations of these are very challenging, we propose an entirely new approach. In particular the |Vcb| + epsilon_K constraint, which depends extremely sensitively on Vcb in the traditional method, is replaced by the interplay between epsilon_K, BR(B ->tau nu) and Delta M_Bs. It is found that even in this method tensions with the Standard Model persist at the ~1.8 sigma level. Furthermore, improvements on the B -> tau nu branching ratio and on the lattice determination of f_Bs …
The one-loop contributions to the branching ratios for leptonic tau decays are calculated in the CP conserving 2HDM(II). We found that these one-loop contributions, involving both neutral and charged Higgs bosons, dominate over the tree-level H^+ exchange, the latter one being totally negligible for the decay into electron. The analysis is focused on large tanbeta enhanced contributions to the considered branching ratios. We derive a simple analytical expression for the one-loop contribution which holds in this case. We show that the leptonic branching ratios of tau are complementary to the Hi…
A global fit of parameters allows us to pin down the Hidden Local Symmetry (HLS) effective Lagrangian, which we apply for the prediction of the leading hadronic vacuum polarization contribution to the muon g-2. The latter is dominated by the annihilation channel e+e- -> pi+pi-, for which data are available by scan (CMD-2 and SND) and ISR (KLOE-2008, KLOE-2010 and BaBar) experiments. It is well known that the different data sets are not in satisfactory agreement. In fact it is possible to fix the model parameters without using the pi+pi- data, by using instead the dipion spectra measured in the…

Recent developments constraining the SUSY parameter space are reviewed within the framework of SUGRA GUT models. The WMAP data is seen to reduce the error in the density of cold dark matter by about a factor of four, implying that the lightest stau is only 5 -10 GeV heavier than the lightest neutralino when m_0, m_{1/2} < 1 TeV. The CMD-2 re-analysis of their data has reduced the disagreement between the Standard Model prediction and the Brookhaven measurement of the muon magnetic moment to 1.9 sigma, while using the tau decay data plus CVC, the disagreement is 0.7 sigma. (However, the two set…
