In this talk, I summarize the activities in the $e^- e^-$ session. The consensus is that if the next generation $e^+ e^-$ linear collider wants to include an $e^- e^-$ option, the planning has to include it as early as possible. By doing so the extra cost would be only a small fraction of the total, and of course the physics potential would be very rewarding.
The main topics covered in this summary talk are the Large Hadron Collider, heavy ion collisions, renormalons, parton distribution functions, measurements of the strong coupling and the top quark. Of special interest this year was the discovery of the top quark by the CDF and D0 groups at Fermilab. I conclude that the evidence is compelling and that the best fit of the Standard Model top hypothesis to the data gives a top mass of $170 +/- 9 GeV with a good chisquared.
We summarize the discussion and presentation of new experimental results in low energy neutrino scattering at the NuInt05 workshop. In addition, we comment on several investigations that should be targeted in preparation for the next NuInt workshop.
In our subgroup, we focused on penguin physics from various different angles. Our discussions included: (1) A method to extract one of the angles of the unitarity triangle $ϕ_2$; (2) Methods to extract $ϕ_3$ from $B\to Kπ$ decays; (3) Effects of non-minimal SUSY on B and K decays; (4) Understnding large branching ratios for $B\to η'+K(K^*)$ decays; (5) New calculation for hadronic matrix elements which are needed to compute $ε'/ε$.
The following aspects of the electroweak interactions are discussed, based on presentations here: the status of the Standard Model, CP violation, neutrino masses and oscillations, supersymmetry and models in extra dimensions, and future projects. Particular emphasis is laid on the tests of CP and CPT by KTeV and CPLEAR, on the problems of degenerate neutrinos, on supersymmetric dark matter, on future long-baseline neutrino beams, and on muon storage rings that may be used as neutrino factories.

Astrophysics is gaining increased attention from the particle and nuclear physics communities, as budget cuts, delays, and cancellations limit opportunities for breakthrough research at accelerator laboratories. Observations of cosmic rays (protons and nuclei), gamma rays and neutrinos present a variety of puzzles whose eventual solution will shed light on many issues ranging from the nature of fundamental interactions at extreme energies to the mechanisms of astrophysical sources. Several important detectors are just beginning full-scale operation and others are beginning construction.
Diffractive interactions represent a lively domain of investigations, as confirmed by the progresses reported during the conference. We summarize the diffractive interactions session and put the new experimental data (section 1), developments in modeling diffraction (section 2) and the theoretical relations with Quantum Chromodynamics (section 3) in perspective.
The session on precision studies of electroweak interactions is summarized. The contributions address the bilinear, trilinear, quartic as well as heavy-quark interactions of the electroweak gauge bosons. This makes up a picture of the physics of electroweak symmetry and symmetry breaking which can be investigated with the proposed design of e+e- Linear Colliders and detectors.

This is the summary talk of a meeting held at the California Institute of Technology Sept 10-13, 2001. I do not attempt to summarize all the beautiful experimental results we have seen this week, nor to repeat the lively theoretical discussions that have occurred. Rather I will present my own biased perspective on what we have learned, and on the important tasks that need our attention as we work to make the most of the rapidly accumulating data in this field.
The parallel sessions of the working group 3 were devoted to the discussions of short-baseline neutrino physics program at neutrino factories.
