Parallel and interacting Markov chains Monte Carlo method

In many situations it is important to be able to propose $N$ independent realizations of a given distribution law. We propose a strategy for making $N$ parallel Monte Carlo Markov Chains (MCMC) interact in order to get an approximation of an independent $N$-sample of a given target law. In this method each individual chain proposes candidates for all other chains. We prove that the set of interacting chains is itself a MCMC method for the product of $N$ target measures. Breaking a chain of interacting Brownian particles

We investigate the behaviour of a finite chain of Brownian particles, interacting through a pairwise quadratic potential, with one end of the chain fixed and the other end pulled away at slow speed, in the limit of slow speed and small Brownian noise. We study the instant when the chain "breaks", that is, the distance between two neighboring particles becomes larger than a certain limit. There are three different regimes depending on the relation between the speed of pulling and the Brownian noise. We prove weak limit theorems for the break time and the break position for each regime.

Ricci curvature bounds for weakly interacting Markov chains

We establish a general perturbative method to prove entropic Ricci curvature bounds for interacting stochastic particle systems. We apply this method to obtain curvature bounds in several examples, namely: Glauber dynamics for a class of spin systems including the Ising and Curie--Weiss models, a class of hard-core models and random walks on groups induced by a conjugacy invariant set of generators.

Interacting Markov chain Monte Carlo methods for solving nonlinear measure-valued equations

We present a new class of interacting Markov chain Monte Carlo algorithms for solving numerically discrete-time measure-valued equations. The associated stochastic processes belong to the class of self-interacting Markov chains. In contrast to traditional Markov chains, their time evolutions depend on the occupation measure of their past values. Fluctuations of Interacting Markov Chain Monte Carlo Methods

We present a multivariate central limit theorem for a general class of interacting Markov chain Monte Carlo algorithms used to solve nonlinear measure-valued equations. These algorithms generate stochastic processes which belong to the class of nonlinear Markov chains interacting with their empirical occupation measures. We develop an original theoretical analysis based on resolvent operators and semigroup techniques to analyze the fluctuations of their occupation measures around their limiting values.
