A Polytropic Approach to Semi-relativistic Isothermal Gas Spheres at Arbitrary Temperature

We use standard polynomial expansion technique to show the existence of a relation between polytropic model and the description of gas spheres at finite temperature. A numerical analysis is made concerning the obtained perturbative parameters. It is shown that there is a correspondence between polytropic and gas sphere thermal models for fermions and bosons. For instance, the polytropic index $n$ displays evident correlation with temperature and chemical potential.

Gravitational instabilities of isothermal spheres are studied in the presence of a positive or negative cosmological constant, in the Newtonian limit. In gravity, the statistical ensembles are not equivalent. We perform the analysis both in the microcanonical and the canonical ensembles, for which the corresponding instabilities are known as `gravothermal catastrophe' and `isothermal collapse', respectively. Gravitational-thermodynamic instabilities of isothermal spheres in dS and AdS

Thermodynamical stability of fluid spheres is studied in the presence of a cosmological constant, both in the Newtonian limit, as well as in General Relativity. In all cases, an increase of the cosmological constant tends to stabilize the system, making asymptotically de Sitter space more thermodynamically stable than anti-de Sitter at the purely classical level. N-body simulations predict that dark matter halos with different mass scales are described by a universal model, the Navarro-Frenk-White (NFW) density profiles. Chandra Study of the Massive and Distant Galaxy Cluster SDSS J0150-1005

In this work, we present a high spatial resolution study of a fossil cluster, SDSS J0150-1005 ($z \simeq 0.364$), based on the imaging spectroscopic analysis of \chandra\ observation. The \chandra\ X-ray image shows a relax and symmetric morphology, which indicates SDSS J0150-1005 is a well-developed galaxy cluster with no sign of recent merger. Its global gas temperature is 5.73 $\pm$ 0.80 keV, and the virial mass is 6.23 $\pm$ 1.34 $\times 10^{14} $ M$_{\odot}$ according to the isothermal model.
