We first review spacelike stretched warped AdS$_3$ and we describe its black hole quotients by using accelerating and Poincaré coordinates. We then describe the maximal analytic extension of the black holes and present their causal diagrams. Finally, we calculate spacetime limits of the black hole phase space $(T_R,T_L)$. This is done by requiring that the identification vector $\partial_θ$ has a finite non-zero limit. The limits we obtain are the self-dual solution in accelerating or Poincaré coordinates, depending respectively on whether the limiting spacetimes are non-extremal or extremal, and warped AdS with a periodic proper time identification.
We propose a set of consistent boundary conditions containing the spacelike warped black holes solutions of Topologically Massive Gravity. We prove that the corresponding asymptotic charges whose algebra consists in a Virasoro algebra and a current algebra are finite, integrable and conserved. A similar analysis is performed for the timelike warped AdS_3 spaces which contain a family of regular solitons. The energy of the boundary Virasoro excitations is positive while the current algebra leads to negative (for the spacelike warped case) and positive (for the timelike warped case) energy bound…
We study regular spacelike warped black holes in the three dimensional general massive gravity model, which contains both the gravitational Chern-Simons term and the linear combination of curvature squared terms characterizing the new massive gravity besides the Einstein-Hilbert term. The parameters of the metric are found by solving a quartic equation constrained by an inequality that imposes the absence of closed timelike curves. Explicit expressions for the central charges are suggested by exploiting the fact that these black holes are discrete quotients of spacelike warped AdS(3) and a kno…
In this paper we show that warped AdS$_{3}$ black hole spacetime is a solution of the generalized minimal massive gravity (GMMG) and introduce suitable boundary conditions for asymptotically warped AdS$_{3}$ spacetimes. Then we find the Killing vector fields such that transformations generated by them preserve the considered boundary conditions. We calculate the conserved charges which correspond to the obtained Killing vector fields and show that the algebra of the asymptotic conserved charges is given as the semi direct product of the Virasoro algebra with $U(1)$ current algebra. We use a pa…
We determine the most general form of off-shell N=(1,1) supergravity field configurations in three dimensions by requiring that at least one off-shell Killing spinor exists. We then impose the field equations of the topologically massive off-shell supergravity and find a class of solutions whose properties crucially depend on the norm of the auxiliary vector field. These are spacelike-squashed and timelike-stretched AdS_3 for the spacelike and timelike norms, respectively. At the transition point where the norm vanishes, the solution is null warped AdS_3. This occurs when the coefficient of th…
In the context of the AdS/CFT correspondence, we study bulk reconstruction of the Poincare wedge of AdS$_3$ via hole-ography, i.e., in terms of differential entropy of the dual CFT$_2$. Previous work had considered the reconstruction of closed or open spacelike curves in global AdS, and of infinitely extended spacelike curves in Poincare AdS that are subject to a periodicity condition at infinity. Working first at constant time, we find that a closed curve in Poincare is described in the CFT by a family of intervals that covers the spatial axis at least twice. We also show how to reconstruct o…
We study a new class of solutions of three-dimensional topological massive gravity. These solutions can be taken as non-extremal black holes, with their extremal counterparts being discrete quotients of spacelike warped AdS$_3$ along the $U(1)_L$ isometry. We study the thermodynamics of these black holes and show that the first law is satisfied. We also show that for consistent boundary conditions, the asymptotic symmetry generators form only one copy of the Virasoro algebra with central charge $c_L = \frac{4ν\ell}{G(ν^2+3)}$, with which the Cardy formula reproduces the black hole entropy. We …
Asymptotically warped AdS spacetimes in topologically massive gravity with negative cosmological constant are considered in the case of spacelike stretched warping, where black holes have been shown to exist. We provide a set of asymptotic conditions that accommodate solutions in which the local degree of freedom (the "massive graviton") is switched on. An exact solution with this property is explicitly exhibited and possesses a slower fall-off than the warped AdS black hole. The boundary conditions are invariant under the semidirect product of the Virasoro algebra with a u(1) current algebra.…
We study real-time correlators in the warped AdS/CFT correspondence. We apply the prescription used in the usual AdS/CFT correspondence and obtain the retarded Green's functions for the scalar and vector fields in the spacelike warped and the null warped black hole backgrounds. We find that the retarded Green's functions and the cross sections are well consistent with the predictions from dual CFT. Our results not only support strongly the conjectured warped AdS/CFT correspondence, but also show that the usual relativistic AdS/CFT prescription of obtaining the real-time correlators remain effe…
In this work we explore the complexity path integral optimization process for the case of warped $\text{AdS}_3$/warped $\text{CFT}_2$ correspondence. We first present the specific renormalization flow equations and analyze the differences with the case of CFT. We discuss how the "chiral Liouville action" could replace the Liouville action as the suitable cost function for this case. Starting from the other side of the story, we also show how the deformed Liouville actions could be derived from the spacelike, timelike and null warped metrics and how the behaviors of boundary topological terms c…
In this paper we apply the thermodynamics method to investigate the holographic pictures for the BTZ black hole, the spacelike and the null warped black holes in three-dimensional topologically massive gravity (TMG) and new massive gravity (NMG). Even though there are higher derivative terms in these theories, the thermodynamics method is still effective. It gives consistent results with the ones obtained by using asymptotical symmetry group (ASG) analysis. In doing the ASG analysis we develop a brute-force realization of the Barnich-Brandt-Compere formalism with Mathematica code, which also a…
We study the thermodynamic stability of warped black holes in three-dimensional topologically massive gravity. The spacelike stretched black hole is parametrized by its mass and angular momentum. We determine the local and global stability properties in the canonical and grand canonical ensembles. The presence of a Hawking-Page type transition is established, and the critical temperature is determined. The thermodynamic metric of Ruppeiner is computed, and the curvature is shown to diverge in the extremal limit. The consequences of these results for the classical stability properties of warped…
We have studied the quasinormal modes of a massive scalar field coupling to Einstein's tensor in the spacelike stretched $AdS_3$ black hole spacetime. We find that both the right-moving and left-moving quasinormal frequencies depend not only on the warped parameter $v$ of black hole, but also on the coupling between the scalar field and Einstein's tensor. Moreover, we also discuss the warped $AdS/CFT$ correspondence from the quasinormal modes and probe the effects of the coupling on the left and right conformal weights $h_L$ and $h_R$ of the operators dual to the scalar field in the boundary.
It is observed that three-dimensional Gödel black holes can be promoted to exact string theory backgrounds through an orbifold of an hyperbolic asymmetric marginal deformation of the SL(2,R) WZW model. Tachyons are found in the spectrum of long strings. Uplifting these solutions in type IIB supergravity, extremal black holes are shown to preserve one supersymmetry in accordance with the BTZ limit. We also make connections with some recently discussed warped black hole solutions of topologically massive gravity, showing that they actually correspond to quotients of spacelike squashed AdS_3.
Three-dimensional warped anti-de Sitter space in topologically massive gravity with a negative cosmological constant has been proposed to be holographically dual to a two-dimensional conformal field theory. We extend this proposal to both positive and vanishing values of the cosmological constant where stretched warped anti-de Sitter space is found to be a solution. For positive cosmological constant, another class of warped solutions is obtained by a spacelike (timelike) line fibration over Lorentzian (Euclidean) two-dimensional de Sitter space. These solutions exhibit a cosmological horizon …
We analytically calculate the quasi-normal modes of various perturbations of spacelike stretched and null warped $AdS_3$ black holes. From AdS/CFT correspondence, these quasi-normal modes are expected to appear as the poles in momentum space of retarded Green functions of dual operators in CFT at finite temperature. We find that this is indeed the case, after taking into account of the subtle identification of quantum numbers. The subtlety comes from the fact that only after appropriate coordinate transformation the asymptotic geometries of warped black holes are the same as the ones of warped…
We consider spacelike warped AdS$_{3}$ black hole metric in Boyer-Lindquist coordinate system. We present a coordinates transformation so that it maps metric in Boyer-Lindquist coordinates to the one in Gaussian null coordinates. Then we introduce new fall-off conditions near the horizon of non-extremal warped black holes. We study the near horizon symmetry algebra of such solutions in the context of Generalized minimal massive gravity. Similar to the black flower solutions, also we obtain the Heisenberg algebra as the near horizon symmetry algebra of the warped black flower solutions. We show…
In the paradigm with a small warped Spacelike Extra Dimensions (SED), the Higgs field is in general localized at a boundary of the SED (TeV-brane) where the gravity scale is redshifted to the TeV by a warp factor. If the SM gauge bosons and fermions propagate into the warped SED, one can generate the mass hierarchy for fermions. It is thus crucial to treat carefully the TeV-brane localized masses for such fermions, which is done in the literature by applying a regularization process suffering from a lack of consistency and more importantly being useless, as we demonstrate in detail in the pres…
Three dimensional spacelike warped anti-de Sitter space is studied in the context of Einstein theories of gravity and string theory, where there is no gravitational Chern-Simons term in the action. We propose that it is holographically dual to a two-dimensional conformal field theory with equal left and right moving central charges. Various checks of the central charges are offered, based on the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy of the stretched warped black holes and warped self-dual solutions. The proposed central charges are applied to compute the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy of the Hopf T-dual of s…
We obtain a black hole solution of minimal massive gravity theory with Maxwell and electromagnetic Chern-Simons terms using the first order formalism. This black hole solution can be translated into the spacelike warped $AdS_3$ black hole solution with some parameters' conditions changing their coordinates system into a Schwarzschild one. Applying the Wald formalism to this theory with the first order formalism, we also find out the entropy, mass, and angular momentum of this black hole solution satisfies the first law of black hole thermodynamics. Under the assumption that minimal massive gra…
We compute the renormalized vacuum polarization of a massive scalar field in the Hartle-Hawking state on (2+1)-dimensional rotating, spacelike stretched black hole solutions to Topologically Massive Gravity, surrounded by a Dirichlet mirror that makes the state well defined. The Feynman propagator is written as a mode sum on the complex Riemannian section of the spacetime, and a Hadamard renormalization procedure is implemented by matching to a mode sum on the complex Riemannian section of a rotating Minkowski spacetime. No analytic continuation in the angular momentum parameter is invoked. Se…
We show that for a certain low frequency limit the wave equation of a generic massive scalar field in the background of the spacelike warped AdS_3 black hole can be written as the Casimir of an SL(2,R) symmetry. Two sets of SL(2,R) generators are found which uncover the hidden SL(2,R)\times SL(2,R) symmetry of the solution. This symmetry is only locally defined and is spontaneously broken to U(1)\times U(1) by a periodic identification of the ϕcoordinate. By using the generator of the identification we read the left and right temperatures (T_L,T_R) of the proposed dual conformal field theory w…
Three dimensional topologically massive gravity (TMG) with a negative cosmological constant -\ell^{-2} and positive Newton constant G admits an AdS_3 vacuum solution for any value of the graviton mass μ. These are all known to be perturbatively unstable except at the recently explored chiral point μ\ell=1. However we show herein that for every value of μ\ell< 3 there are two other (potentially stable) vacuum solutions given by SL(2,R)x U(1)-invariant warped AdS_3 geometries, with a timelike or spacelike U(1) isometry. Critical behavior occurs at μ\ell=3, where the warping transitions from a st…
We investigate properties of the inner horizons of certain black holes in higher-derivative three-dimensional gravity theories. We focus on BTZ and Spacelike Warped Anti-de Sitter black holes, as well as on asymptotically Warped de-Sitter solutions exhibiting both a cosmological and a black hole horizon. We verify that a First Law is satisfied at the Inner horizon, in agreement with the proposal of \cite{Castro:2012av}. We then show that, in Topologically Massive Gravity, the product of the areas of the inner and outer horizons fails to be independent on the mass, and trace this to the diffeom…
We study some aspects of a class of non-AdS holography where the 3d bulk gravity is given by Generalized Minimal Massive Gravity (GMMG). We consider the spacelike warped $AdS_3$ ($WAdS_3$) black hole solution of this model where the 2d dual boundary theory is the warped conformal field theory (WFCT). The charge algebra of the isometries in the bulk and the charge algebra of the vacuum symmetries at the boundary are compatible and this is an evidence for the duality conjecture. Further evidence for this duality is the equality of entanglement entropy and modular Hamiltonian on both sides of the…
We first make a Killing spinor analysis for a general three-dimensional off-shell $N=(2,0)$ supergravity and find conditions for a bosonic background to preserve some supersymmetry . We then consider a particular model, namely $N=(2,0)$ topologically massive supergravity and impose its field equations. By making a suitable ansatz on metric functions we find a large class of solutions that include spacelike, timelike and null warped $AdS_3$ among others. Isometric quotients of spacelike and timelike squashed $AdS_3$ solutions yield extremal black holes without closed causal curves.
D3-branes wrapping constant curvature Riemann surfaces give rise to 2D N = (0,2) SCFTs, where the superconformal fixed-points are mapped to vacua of 3D N =2 U(1)^3 gauged supergravity. In this work we determine the fermionic supersymmetry variations of the theory and present all supersymmetric solutions. For spacetimes with a timelike Killing vector, we identify new timelike warped AdS_3 (Gödel) and timelike warped dS_3 critical points. We outline the construction of numerical solutions interpolating between fixed-points, demonstrate that these flows are driven by an irrelevant scalar operator…
In this paper, we examine the validity of the first law of inner mechanics of black holes in Generalized Minimal Massive Gravity. We consider BTZ and spacelike warped black holes and show that the first law of inner mechanics is valid for given black holes in Generalized Minimal Massive Gravity. As we expect, due to the presence of the Lorentz Chern-Simons term in Lagrangian of considered model, the product of the entropies of the inner and outer horizons depends on the mass as it happens in Topologically Massive Gravity.
Exact vacuum solutions with a nontrivial torsion for the Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet theory in five dimensions are constructed. We consider a class of static metrics whose spacelike section is a warped product of the real line with a nontrivial base manifold endowed with a fully antisymmetric torsion. It is shown requiring solutions of this sort to exist, fixes the Gauss-Bonnet coupling such that the Lagrangian can be written as a Chern-Simons form. The metric describes black holes with an arbitrary, but fixed, base manifold. It is shown that requiring its ground state to possess unbroken supersymme…
We discuss a quantum deformation of the Green-Schwarz superstring on flat space, arising as a contraction limit of the corresponding deformation of AdS_5 x S^5. This contraction limit turns out to be equivalent to a previously studied limit that yields the so-called mirror model - the model obtained from the light cone gauge fixed AdS_5 x S^5 string by a double Wick rotation. Reversing this logic, the AdS_5 x S^5 superstring is the double Wick rotation of a quantum deformation of the flat space superstring. This quantum deformed flat space string realizes symmetries of timelike kappa-Poincare …
It has been shown that the product of the entropies of the inner Cauchy and outer event horizon of the charged axisymmetric and stationary black holes is a universal formula, which is independent of the black hole's mass. In this paper, we investigate this universality for the two kinds of rotating black holes in the three-dimensional gravity models. In fact, we study the spacelike warped anti-de Sitter black hole in the new massive gravity and the Ba~nados, Teitelboim, and Zanelli black hole in the minimal massive gravity. We show that this rule is held in the first theory. By contrast, in th…
We show that the Schwarzschild-(A)dS black hole mechanics possesses a hidden symmetry under the three-dimensional Poincaré group. This symmetry shows up after having gauge-fixed the diffeomorphism invariance in the symmetry-reduced homogeneous Einstein-$Λ$ model and stands as a physical symmetry of the system. It dictates the geometry both in the black hole interior and exterior regions, as well as beyond the cosmological horizon in the Schwarzschild-dS case. It follows that one can associate a set of non-trivial conserved charges to the Schwarzschild-(A)dS black hole which act in each causall…
An exhaustive classification of certain class of static solutions for the five-dimensional Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet theory in vacuum is presented. The class of metrics under consideration is such that the spacelike section is a warped product of the real line with a nontrivial base manifold. It is shown that for generic values of the coupling constants the base manifold must be necessarily of constant curvature, and the solution reduces to the topological extension of the Boulware-Deser metric. It is also shown that the base manifold admits a wider class of geometries for the special case when th…
To gain insight into how bulk locality emerges from the holographic conformal field theory, we reformulate the bulk to boundary map in as local a way as possible. In previous work, we carried out this program for Lorentzian AdS, and showed the support on the boundary could always be reduced to a compact region spacelike separated from the bulk point. In the present work the idea is extended to a complexified boundary, where spatial coordinates are continued to imaginary values. This continuation enables us to represent a local bulk operator as a CFT operator with support on a finite disc on th…
Any $(d+1)$-dimensional CFT with a $U(1)$ flavor symmetry, a BPS bound and an exactly marginal coupling admits a decoupling limit in which one zooms in on the spectrum close to the bound. This limit is an Inönü-Wigner contraction of $so(2,d+1)\oplus u(1)$ that leads to a relativistic algebra with a scaling generator but no conformal generators. In 2D CFTs, Lorentz boosts are abelian and by adding a second $u(1)$ we find a contraction of two copies of $sl(2,\mathbb{R})\oplus u(1)$ to two copies of $P_2^c$, the 2-dimensional centrally extended Poincaré algebra. We show that the bulk is described…
