The solutions appeared as critical points of a functional restricted to a suitable manifold.In the case of constant coefficients we obtain the existence of tree distinct solutions.

Using a method developped in [1] and [2], we prove the existence of weak non trivial solutions to fourth order elliptic equations with singularities and with critical Sobolev growth.

Consequently, we prove the global existence and convergence of the Q-curvature flow on a generic class of Riemannian 4-manifolds. As a by product, we give a positive answer to an open question by A. Malchiodi on the existence of bounded Palais-Smale sequences for the Q-curvature problem when the Paneitz operator is positive with trivial kernel.

In this paper we compute the Leray Schauder degree for a fourth order elliptic boundary value problem with exponential nonlinearity and Navier boundary condition. This will be made by proving a Poincare'-Hopf type theorem. Moreover by using this result, together with some quantitative results about the formal set of barycenters, we are able to establish a direct and geometrically clear degree counting formula for our problem. We remark that this formula has been proven with complete different methods by Lin Wei and Wang by using blow-up type estimates.

In this paper we prescribe a fourth order conformal invariant on the standard $n-$sphere, with $n\geq5$, and study the related fourth order elliptic equation. We first find some existence results in the perturbative case. After some blow up analysis we build a homotopy to pass from the perturbative case to the non-perturbative one under some flatness condition. Finally we state some existence results under the assumption of symmetry.
On a Riemannian compact manifold, we give existence and multiplicity results for solutions of elliptic PDE by introducing isometry invariances. When the groups we used have finite orbits, we get multiplicity results for equations with the classical critical Sobolev exponent, for instance the Yamabe equation.
