In the gauge-Higgs unification the 4D Higgs field becomes a part of the extra-dimensional component of the gauge potentials. In the $SO(5) \times U(1)$ gauge-Higgs unification in the Randall-Sundrum warped spacetime the electroweak symmetry is dynamically broken through the Hosotani mechanism. The Higgs bosons become absolutely stable, and become the dark matter of the universe. The mass of the Higgs boson is determined from the WMAP data to be about 70 GeV.
We discuss renormalization group equations for gauge coupling constants in gauge-Higgs grand unification on five-dimensional Randall-Sundrum warped space. We show that all the four-dimensional Standard Model gauge coupling constants are asymptotically free and are effectively unified in $SO(11)$ gauge-Higgs grand unified theories on 5D Randall-Sundrum warped space.
We consider the triple coupling of the Higgs boson in the context of the gauge-Higgs unification scenario. We show that the triple coupling of the Higgs boson in this scenario generically deviates from SM prediction since the Higgs potential in this scenario has a periodicity. We calculate the coupling in the five-dimensional $SU(3)$ x $U(1)_X$ gauge-Higgs unification model and obtain 70% deviation from the SM prediction.
We construct R-invariant grand unification models with composite Higgs multiplets. Higgs doublets are massless due to the R symmetry, which is not spontaneously broken at the unification scale, while Higgs triplets get large masses from a dynamically generated superpotential, which is allowed by an R anomaly.
We study the deviation of yukawa coupling in the gauge-Higgs unification scenario from the Standard Model one. Applying the obtained results to the tau and bottom yukawa couplings, we numerically calculate the signal strength of $gg \to H \to \bar b b, \bar τ τ$in the gauge-Higgs unification.
Gauge coupling unification is studied within the framework where there are extra Higgs doublets and $E_6$ exotic fields. Supersymmetric models and nonsupersymmetric models are investigated, and a catalog of models with gauge coupling unification is presented.
We study an SU(2) supersymmetric gauge model in a framework of gauge-Higgs unification. Multi-Higgs spectrum appears in the model at low energy. We develop a useful perturbative approximation scheme for evaluating effective potential to study the multi-Higgs mass spectrum. We find that both tree-massless and massive Higgs scalars obtain mass corrections of similar size from finite parts of the loop effects. The corrections modify multi-Higgs mass spectrum, and hence, the loop effects are significant in view of future verifications of the gauge-Higgs unification scenario in high-energy experime…
In the context of gauge-Higgs unification scenario in a 5-dimensional flat spacetime, we investigate Higgs boson production via gluon fusion and its diphoton decay mode at the LHC. We show that the signal strength of the Higgs diphoton decay mode observed at ATLAS and CMS, which is considerably larger than the Standard Model expectation, can be explained by a simple gauge-Higgs unification model with color-singlet bulk fermions to which a half-periodic boundary condition is assigned. The bulk fermions also play a crucial role in reproducing the observed Higgs boson mass around 125 GeV.
We show that the anomalous magnetic moment of fermion in the gauge-Higgs unification is finite in any spacetime dimensions, which is a new predictive physical observable similar to the Higgs mass.
The Higgs boson is unified with gauge fields in the gauge-Higgs unification. The $SO(5) \times U(1)$ gauge-Higgs electroweak unification in the Randall-Sundrum warped space yields almost the same phenomenology at low energies as the standard model, and gives many predictions for the Higgs couplings and new $W', Z'$ bosons around $6 \sim 8$ TeV, which can be tested at 14 TeV LHC. The gauge-Higgs grand unification is achieved in $SO(11)$ gauge theory. It suggests the existence of the sixth dimension (GUT dimension) in addition to the fifth dimension (electroweak dimension). The proton decay is n…
Dynamical gauge-Higgs unification is presented in higher dimensional gauge theory, in which both adjoint and fundamental Higgs fields are a part of gauge fields. Dynamical gauge symmetry breaking is induced through the Hosotani mechanism. Gauge theory, including the U(3) x U(3) model, is examined on M^4 x (T^2/Z_2).
The zero mode of an extra-dimensional component of gauge potentials serves as a 4D Higgs field in the gauge-Higgs unification. We examine QED on $M^4 \times S^1$ and determine the mass and potential of a 4D Higgs field (the $A_5$ component) at the two loop level with gauge invariant reguralization. It is seen that the mass is free from divergences and independent of the renormalization scheme.
The effective Higgs theories at the TeV scale in supersymmetric $SU(5)$ grand unification models are systematically derived. Restricted to extensions on $\mathbf{5}_{H}$ containing the Higgs sector we show that only two types of real (vector-like) models and one type of chiral model are found to be consistent with perturbative grand unification. While the chiral model has been excluded by the LHC data, the fate of perturbative unification will be uniquely determined by the two classes of vector-like models.
We study the deviation of Higgs production through the gluon fusion process and the decay of Higgs boson to the bottom quark and the tau lepton in gauge-Higgs unification from the Standard Model prediction. We find that the signal strength of $gg \to H \to b\bar{b}, τ\barτ$ is necessarily suppressed comparing to the SM predictions due to the dominant suppression of the Higgs production via gluon fusion.
We discuss the Yukawa coupling unification, a very interesting prediction of the grand unified theory, in the context of scenarios with more than one pair of Higgs doublet since the current LHC constraint has become a problem for the Yukawa unification scenarios with just one pair of Higgs doublet. More than one pair of Higgs doublets can easily arise in missing partner mechanism which solves the doublet-triplet splitting problem. In such a scenario, the Yukawa unification occurs at a medium $\tanβ$ value, e.g., $\sim$ 30, which corresponds to much smaller threshold corrections compared to usu…
We analyze the structure of the Higgs potential in gauge-Higgs unification with a flat extra dimension. As a concrete model, we first consider the cases where the Standard Model Higgs doublet is embedded into a higher-dimensional $SU(3)_{w}^{}$ gauge multiplet with five-dimensional Lorentz symmetry relaxed. In this $SU(3)_{w}^{}$ model with Lorentz violation, the deviation of the resulting triple Higgs boson coupling from its SM prediction is shown to be less than $10\%$ when the compactification scale is larger than the experimental lower bound, which is around 5 TeV. Next, we examine the Hig…
In the gauge-Higgs unification scenario 4D Higgs fields are unified with gauge fields in higher dimensions. The electroweak model is constructed in the Randall-Sundrum warped space. The electroweak symmetry is dynamically broken by the Hosotani mechanism due to the top quark contribution. The Higgs mass is predicted to be around 50 GeV with the vanishing ZZH and WWH couplings so that the LEP2 bound for the Higgs mass is evaded.
We study the deviation of yukawa coupling in the gauge-Higgs unification scenario from the Standard Model one. Taking into account the brane mass terms necessary for generating the flavor mixing and removing the exotic massless fermions, we derive an analytic formula determining the KK mass spectrum and yukawa coupling. Applying the obtained results to the tau and bottom yukawa couplings, we numerically calculate the ratio of the yukawa couplings in the gauge-Higgs unification and in the Standard Model.
4D Higgs field is identified with the extra-dimensional component of gauge potentials in the gauge-Higgs unification scenario. $SO(5) \times U(1)$ gauge-Higgs EW unification in the Randall-Sundrum warped space is successful at low energies. The Higgs field appears as an Aharonov-Bohm phase $θ_H$ in the fifth dimension. Its mass is generated at the quantum level and is finite. The model yields almost the same phenomenology as the standard model for $θ_H < 0.1$, and predicts $Z'$ bosons around 6 - 10 TeV with very broad widths. The scenario is genelarized to $SO(11)$ gauge-Higgs grand unificatio…
We propose an alternative unification scenario where the Higgs self-coupling (lambda) is unified with the electroweak SU(2)L x U(1)Y interactions at an intermediate scale MGH, lower than the GUT scale. In this model the SM remains valid up to this scale MGH, where the gauge and Higgs couplings satisfy the unification condition g1 = g2 = f(lambda). Two variants for this unification condition are discussed; scenario I is defined through the linear relation: g1 = g2 = k lambda(MGH), while scenario II assumes a quadratic relation: g1**2 = g2**2 = k lambda(MGH). An attractive feature of this class …
In the SO(5) x U(1) gauge-Higgs unification model in the Randall-Sundrum warped space there results the conservation of the H parity. The H parity is assigned to all 4D fields including excited modes in Kaluza-Klein towers. The neutral Higgs boson is the lightest particle of odd H parity, consequently becoming absolutely stable. Its mass is found to be 70 \sim 135 GeV for the warp factor z_L = 10^5 \sim 10^{15}.
In the gauge-Higgs unification scenario the 4D Higgs field is identified with the zero mode of the extra-dimensional component of gauge potentials. The mass of the Higgs particle in the unification in the Randall-Sundrum warped spacetime is predicted to be in the range 100 GeV - 300 GeV. The WWZ gauge couplings remains almost universal as in the standard model, but substantial deviation results for the Higgs couplings. The WWH and ZZH couplings are suppressed by a factor \cos θ_H from the values in the standard model, where θ_H is the Yang-Mills AB phase along the fifth dimension. These can be…
This paper has been withdrawn by the authors, because the authors have second thought that the new ideas in this paper are better to be contained in another paper.
In the $SO(5) \times U(1)$ gauge-Higgs unification in the Randall-Sundrum (RS) warped space the Higgs boson naturally becomes stable. The model is consistent with the current collider signatures only for a large warp factor $z_L > 10^{15}$ of the RS space. In order for stable Higgs bosons to explain the dark matter of the Universe the Higgs boson must have a mass $m_h = 70 \sim 75$ GeV, which can be obtained in the non-SUSY model with $z_L \sim 10^5$. We show that this discrepancy is resolved in supersymmetric gauge-Higgs unification where a stop mass is about $300 \sim 320 $GeV and gauginos i…
In this paper, we discuss the UV sensitivity of the Higgs effective potential in a Gauge-Higgs Unification (GHU) model. We consider an $SU(\mathcal N)$ GHU on $\mathbf M^4\times S^1$ spacetime with a massless Dirac fermion. In this model, we evaluate the four-Fermi diagrams at the two-loop level and find them to be logarithmically divergent in the dimensional regularization scheme. Moreover, we confirm that their counter terms contribute to the Higgs effective potential at the four-loop level. This result means that the Higgs effective potential in the GHU depends on UV theories as well as in …
We propose a new model of 5D $SU(3)\otimes U(1)_X$ gauge-Higgs unification with a successful electroweak symmetry breaking and a realistic Higgs boson mass. In our model, the representations of the fermions are very simple, the ${\bf 3}, \overline{\bf 3}$ and $\bf \overline{15}$ representations of $SU(3)$ gauge group. Employing the anti-periodic boundary conditions for $\bf \overline{15}$ reduces massless exotic fermions and simplifies the brane localized mass terms. We calculate the 1-loop Higgs potential in detail and find that a realistic electroweak symmetry breaking and the observed Higgs…
We study a five dimensional nonsupersymmetric SU(3) gauge theory compactified on $M^4\times S^1/Z_2$. The gauge hierarchy is discussed in the scenario of the gauge-Higgs unification. We present two models in which the large gauge hierarchy is realized, that is, the weak scale is naturally is obtained from an unique large scale such as a GUT and the Planck scale. We also study the Higgs mass in each model.
We study the phase structure of the gauge theories in the space-time with one compact dimension, where the gauge symmetry can be broken by the Hosotani mechanism. As the extra dimension, we consider the SO(5) x U(1) gauge-Higgs unification in the Randall-Sundrum space-time which reproduce the 126 GeV Higgs mass. It is found that the thermal phase transition of the electroweak symmetry is almost second order and the critical temperature is around 160 GeV for z_L < 10^7 and n_F=3.
We evaluate the radion and Higgs masses in the gauge-Higgs unification models on the warped geometry, in which the modulus is stabilized by the Casimir energy. We analyze the one-loop effective potential and clarify the dependences of those masses on the Wilson line phase $θ_H$. The radion mass varies 1-30GeV for $0.06\leq\sinθ_H\leq 0.3$, while the Higgs mass is 150-200 GeV and depends on $θ_H$ only logarithmically. The radion couplings to the standard model particles are sensitive to the warp factor, and are too small to detect at colliders in the region where the five-dimensional descriptio…
We study the mass ratio of W and Z bosons in an SU(5) gauge-Higgs unification model with the left-right symmetry remaining locally for boundary conditions and with no scalar fields except for the extra-dimensional component of gauge bosons. We find that there are a variety of boundary conditions to yield distinct values of the mass ratio.
In this paper, we investigate the finiteness of the Higgs effective potential in an ${\rm SU}(\mathcal N)$ Gauge-Higgs Unification (GHU) model defined on ${\bf M}^4\times S^1$. We obtain the Higgs effective potential at the two-loop level and find that it is finite. We also discuss that the Higgs effective potential is generically divergent for three- or higher-loop levels. As an example, we consider an ${\rm SU}(\mathcal N)$ gauge theory on ${\bf M}^5\times S^1$, where the one-loop corrections to the four-Fermi operators are divergent. We find that the Higgs effective potential depends on the…
In the dynamical gauge-Higgs unification of electroweak interactions, the 4D Higgs field is identified with the low energy mode of the extra-dimensional component of the gauge potentials. In the Randall-Sundrum warped spacetime, in particular, the Higgs boson mass is predicted in the range 120 GeV - 290 GeV. The universality of weak interactions is slightly broken by magnitudes of 10^{-8}, 10^{-6} and 10^{-2} for μ-e, τ-e and t-e, respectively.
We obtain the mass spectrum and the Higgs self-coupling of the two Higgs doublet model (THDM) in an alternative unification scenario where the parameters of the Higgs potential $λ_i$ ($i=1,2,3,4,5$) are determined by imposing their unification with the electroweak gauge couplings. An attractive feature of this scenario is the possibility to determine the Higgs boson masses by evolving the $λ_i$,s from the electroweak-Higgs unification scale $M_{GH}$ down to the electroweak scale. The unification condition for the gauge ($g_1,g_2$) and Higgs couplings is written as $g_1=g_2=f(λ_i)$, where $g_1=…
The wave functions and Yukawa couplings of the top and bottom quarks in the SO(5) x U(1) gauge-Higgs unification model are determined. The result is summarized in the effective interactions for \hat θ_H(x) = θ_H + H(x)/f_H where θ_H is the Wilson line phase and H(x) is the 4D Higgs field. The Yukawa, WWH and ZZH couplings vanish at θ_H = \onehalf π. There emerges the possibility that the Higgs particle becomes stable.
In the context of gauge-Higgs unification scenario in a 5-dimensional flat spacetime, we investigate Higgs boson production via gluon fusion and its diphoton and Z gamma decay modes at the LHC. We show that the signal strength of the Higgs diphoton decay mode observed at ATLAS (and CMS), which is considerably larger than the Standard Model expectation, can be explained by a simple gauge-Higgs unification model with color-singlet bulk fermions to which a half-periodic boundary condition is assigned. The bulk fermions with mass at the TeV scale also play a crucial role in reproducing the observe…
Motivated in part by recent demonstrations that electroweak unification into a simple group may occur at a low scale, we detail the requirements on the Higgs mass if the unification is to be perturbative. We do this for the Standard Model effective theory, minimal supersymmetry, and next-to-minimal supersymmetry with an additional singlet field. Within the Standard Model framework, we find that perturbative unification with sin2(thetaW)=1/4 occurs at Lambda=3.8 TeV and requires mh<460 GeV, whereas perturbative unification with sin2(thetaW)=3/8 requires mh<200 GeV. In supersymmetry, the present…
In this talk we assume SO(10) boundary conditions at the GUT scale, including unification for the third generation Yukawa couplings $λ_t = λ_b = λ_τ$. We find that this assumption is only consistent with the low energy data in a narrow region of soft SUSY breaking parameter space. We discuss the consequences of this result for Higgs and SUSY searches.
We consider general supersymmetric models with: a) arbitrary matter content; and, b) gauge coupling Unification near the String scale $\sim 10^{17}$ GeV, and derive the absolute upper limit on the mass of the lightest Higgs boson. For a top-quark mass $M_t$= 175 GeV, and depending on the supersymmetric parameter $\tanβ$, this mass bound can be as high as $\sim$ 200 GeV.
Higgs boson production by the gluon fusion and its decay into two photons at the LHC are investigated in the context of the gauge-Higgs unification scenario. The qualitative behaviors for these processes in the gauge-Higgs unification are quite distinguishable from those of the Standard Model and the universal extra dimension scenario because of the overall sign difference for the effective couplings induced by one-loop corrections through Kaluza-Klein (KK) modes. For the KK mode mass smaller than 1 TeV, the Higgs productions cross section and its branching ratio into two photons are sizably d…
In theories with extra dimensions the Standard Model Higgs field can be identified with the internal components of higher-dimensional gauge fields (Higgs-gauge unification). The higher-dimensional gauge symmetry prevents the Higgs mass from quadratic divergences, but at the fixed points of the orbifold this symmetry is broken and divergences can arise if U(1) subgroups are conserved. We show that another symmetry, remnant of the internal rotation group after orbifold projection, can avoid the generation of such divergences.
We use $t, b, τ$ Yukawa unification to constrain SUSY parameter space. We find a narrow region survives for $μ> 0$ (suggested by \bsgam and the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon) with $A_0 \sim - 1.9 m_{16}$, $m_{10} \sim 1.4 m_{16}$, $m_{16} \sim 1200 -3000$ \gev and $μ, M_{1/2} \sim 100 - 500$ \gev. Demanding Yukawa unification thus makes definite predictions for Higgs and sparticle masses.
We construct R-invariant unification models where a pair of massless Higgs doublets is naturally obtained. The masslessness of the Higgs doublets is guaranteed by the unbroken R symmetry. Mass generation for the Higgs doublets is considered from various viewpoints.
We find that the tree-level predictions of the forward-backward production asymmetries on the Z resonance for b and c quarks, A_FB, in an SO(5) x U(1) gauge-Higgs unification model are markedly close to the central values of the Particle Data Group data unlike the standard model. The decay width of Z boson is evaluated and the S and T parameters are discussed.
The gauge-Higgs unification is one of influential scenarios to solve the hierarchy problem in the Standard Model. Recently, the scenario on the warped background attracts many attentions due to a large possibility to construct a realistic model naturally in this framework. It is, however, well known that the effective potential for the Higgs field, which is the most important prediction of the scenario, is not easy to calculate on the warped background, because masses of Kaluza-Klein particles are not obtained analytically. In this article, we derive useful formulae for the effective potential…

$SO(5) \times U(1) \times SU(3)$ gauge-Higgs unification model inspired by $SO(11)$ gauge-Higgs grand unification is constructed in the Randall-Sundrum warped space. The 4D Higgs boson is identified with the Aharonov-Bohm phase in the fifth dimension. Fermion multiplets are introduced in the bulk in the spinor, vector and singlet representations of $SO(5)$ such that they are implemented in the spinor and vector representations of $SO(11)$. The mass spectrum of quarks and leptons in three generations is reproduced except for the down quark mass. The small neutrino masses are explained by the ga…
In the gauge-Higgs unification scenario the Higgs field is unified with gauge fields in higher dimensional gauge theory. The 4D Higgs field $H(x)$ corresponds to 4D fluctuations of the Aharonov-Bohm phase (Wilson line phase) $θ_H$ in the extra-dimension. An $SO(5)\times U(1)$ gauge-Higgs unification model in the Randall-Sundrum warped spacetime with top and bottom quarks is presented. Gauge couplings of the top quark multiplet induce electroweak symmetry breaking by the Hosotani mechanism. The effective potential $V_\eff (θ_H)$ is found to be minimized at $θ_H = \onehalf π$ and the Higgs mass …
Models with gauge-Higgs unification on a flat space are typically affected by common problems, the main of which are the prediction of a too small top and Higgs mass and a too low compactification scale. We show how, by breaking the SO(4,1) Lorentz symmetry in the bulk and introducing a Z_2 ``mirror'' symmetry, a potentially realistic model arises, in which all these problems are solved.
We discuss the realization of two Higgs doublets model in the framework of 6 dimensional Gauge-Higgs Unification model with a simple Lie group G_M. Two Higgs SU(2)_L doublets can emerge at the low energy effective theory, and the quartic coupling terms in the scalar potential, essential for the electroweak symmetry breaking, are now G_M gauge invariant and permissive. A realistic two Higgs doublets model can possibly be obtained only when two of the root vectors associated with the would-be Higgs doublets and the root vector for SU(2)_L form an isosceles triangle with vertex angle either of Pi…
The gauge couplings $WWZ$, $WWWW$, and $WWZZ$ in the gauge-Higgs unification scenario in the Randall-Sundrum warped spacetime remain almost universal as in the standard model, but substantial deviation results for the Higgs couplings. In the $SO(5)\times U(1)_{B-L}$ model, the couplings $WWH$ and $ZZH$ are suppressed by a factor $\cos θ_H$ from the values in the standard model, while the bare couplings $WWHH$ and $ZZHH$ are suppressed by a factor $1-(2/3)\sin^2 θ_H$. Here $θ_H$ is the Yang-Mills AB phase (Wilson line phase) along the fifth dimension, which characterizes the electroweak symmetr…
We investigate the divergence structure of one-loop corrections to S and T parameteres in gauge-Higgs unification. We show that these parameters are finite in five dimensions, but divergent in more than five dimensions. Remarkably, a particular linear combination of S and T parameters becomes finite in six dimension case, which is indicated from the operator analysis in a model independent way.
We examine trilinear gauge boson couplings (TGCs) in the context of the $SU(3)_W\otimes U(1)'$ gauge-Higgs unification scenario. The TGCs play important roles in the probes of the physics beyond the standard model, since they are highly restricted by the experiments. We discuss mass spectrum of the neutral gauge boson with brane-localized mass terms carefully and find that the TGCs and $ρ$ parameter may deviate from standard model predictions. Finally we put a constraint from these observables and discuss the possible parameter space.
We explore gauge coupling unification and dark matter in high scale supersymmetry where the scale of supersymmetry breaking is much above the weak scale. The gauge couplings unify as precisely as in low energy supersymmetry if the higgsinos, whose mass does not break supersymmetry, are much lighter than those obtaining masses from supersymmetry breaking. The dark matter of the universe can then be explained by the neutral higgsino or the gravitino. High scale supersymmetry with light higgsinos requires a large Higgs mixing parameter for electroweak symmetry breaking to take place. It is thus n…
The Higgs boson mass $m_H=126 $GeV in the $SO(5) \times U(1)$ gauge-Higgs unification in the Randall-Sundrum space leads to important consequences. An universal relation is found between the Kaluza-Klein (KK) mass scale $m_{KK}$ and the Aharonov-Bohm phase $θ_H$ in the fifth dimension; $m_{KK} \sim 1350\,{\rm GeV}/(\sin θ_H)^{0.787}$. The cubic and quartic self-couplings of the Higgs boson become smaller than those in the SM, having universal dependence on $θ_H$. The decay rates $H \rightarrow γγ, gg$ are evaluated by summing contributions from KK towers. Corrections coming from KK excited sta…
We find that the one-loop correction to the ratio of Yukawa coupling and gauge coupling in the gauge-Higgs unification, "gauge-Yukawa universality violation", is finite and calculable in any space-time dimension. Applying this result to the ratio of top quark and W-boson masses, we show that the order one correction required to generate a viable top quark mass is indeed possible if the fermion embedding top quark belongs to the large dimensional representation of the gauge group and a vacuum expectation value of Higgs scalar field is very small comparing to the compactification scale.
In our previous paper, we have investigated effects of a simple gauge-Higgs unification model on the diphoton signal events from the Higgs boson production at the Large Hadron Collider. We have found that in this model the effective Higgs-to-diphoton coupling can be enhanced by 1-loop corrections with Kaluza-Klein (KK) modes of bulk fields. This result can be an explanation for the observed excess of the signal strength in the Higgs to diphoton decay channel. In this paper, we investigate KK-mode effects on another Higgs boson decay mode, H to Z gamma. One naturally expects that the KK modes a…
We review some properties of Bilinear R-Parity Violating models: simple extensions of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model motivated by spontaneous breaking of R-Parity. We concentrate on the relaxation of the bounds on the charged Higgs mass imposed by the measurement of B(b -> s gamma), the effect on the mass of the lightest neutral Higgs boson, the radiative breaking of the electroweak symmetry, the unification of bottom and tau Yukawa couplings, and the relation of these phenomena to the radiatively generated tau-neutrino mass.
In the dynamical gauge-Higgs unification the 4D Higgs field is unified with gauge fields and the electroweak symmetry is dynamically broken by the Hosotani mechanism. Interesting phenomenology is obtained in the Randall-Sundrum warped spacetime. (i) The Higgs boson mass is predicted at the LHC energies. (ii) The hierarchy in the fermion mass spectrum is naturally explained. (iii) Tiny violation of the universality in the charged current interactions is predicted. (iv) Yukawa couplings of quarks and leptons are suppressed compared with those in the standard model. (v) $WWH$, $ZZH$ couplings are…
In the MSSM, the assumptions of a common sfermion mass parameter m_0 and a common gaugino mass parameter m_1/2, along with the requirements from radiative electroweak symmetry breaking, lead to relatively large values of the Higgs mixing parameter mu, and consequently to a gaugino-like lightest neutralino. Lifting the requirement that the Higgs mass parameters unify with the sfermion masses is known to allow for smaller mu. We show that a mu parameter sufficiently small to yield a Higgsino-like neutralino requires a precise adjustment of the Higgs mass parameter m_Hu. Consequently a gaugino-ty…
We construct a supersymmetric left-right model in four dimension with gauge-Higgs unification starting from a SU(3)_c x SU(4)_w x U(1)_{B-L} gauge symmetry in five dimension. The model has several interesting features, such as, the CKM mixings in the quark sector are naturally small while for the neutrino sector it is not, light neutrino masses can be generated via the seesaw mechanism in the usual way, and the model has a U(1)_R symmetry which naturally forbid dimension five proton decay operators. We also discuss the grand unification of our model in SO(12) in five dimensions.
