Differential elliptic flow $v_2(p_{T})$ for identified hadrons has been investigated in the FAIR energy regime, employing a hadronic-string transport model (UrQMD) as well as a partonic transport model (AMPT). It has been observed that both the models show a mass ordering of $v_2$ at low $p_{T}$ and a switch over resulting a baryon-meson crossing at intermediate $p_{T}$. AMPT generates higher $v_2$ values compared to UrQMD. In addition, constituent quark number scaling behavior of elliptic flow has also been addressed. Scaling behavior in terms of the transverse momentum $p_T$ is found to absent for both the partonic as well as the hadronic model. However UrQMD and AMPT with string melting scenario do exhibit a NCQ scaling of $v_2$ at varying degree, with respect to transverse kinetic energy $KE_T$. But default AMPT, where partonic scatterings are not included, does not show any considerable scaling behavior. A variable $α$ is defined to quantify the degree of $KE_T$ scaling. We found that UrQMD gives better scaling than AMPT at FAIR.
Hadronic interactions are discussed within the context of the constituent quark model. The "Quark Born Diagram" methodology is outlined, extensive applications to meson-meson and meson-baryon interactions are discussed, and general features of these interactions are highlighted. The second half of this document deals with shortcomings of the quark model approach and methods to overcome them. These include relativistic kinematics, unitarity, nonlocal potentials, coupled channel effects, and the chiral nature of the pion.
The hadronic light-by-light scattering contribution to the muon anomalous magnetic moment can be estimated by computing constituent quark loops. Such an estimate is very sensitive to the numerical values of the constituent quark masses. These can be fixed by computing the hadronic vacuum polarization contribution to the muon magnetic anomaly within the same model. In this Letter, we demonstrate the stability of this framework against first-order perturbative QCD corrections.
The constituent quark number scaling of elliptic flow is studied in a non-equilibrium hadronization and freeze-out model with rapid dynamical transition from ideal, deconfined and chirally symmetric Quark Gluon Plasma, to final non-interacting hadrons. In this transition a Bag model of constituent quarks is considered, where the quarks gain constituent quark mass while the background Bag-field breaks up and vanishes. The constituent quarks then recombine into simplified hadron states, while chemical, thermal and flow equilibrium break down one after the other. In this scenario the resulting te…
We apply color-spin and flavor-spin quark-quark interactions to the meson and baryon constituent quarks, and calculate constituent quark masses, as well as the coupling constants of these interactions. The main goal of this paper was to determine constituent quark masses from light and open bottom hadron masses, using the fitting method we have developed and clustering of hadron groups. We use color-spin Fermi-Breit (FB) and flavor-spin Glozman-Riska (GR) hyperfine interaction (HFI) to determine constituent quark masses (especially $b$ quark mass). Another aim was to discern between the FB and…
Light strongly interacting supersymmetric particles may be treated as partonic constituents of nucleons in high energy scattering processes. We construct parton distribution functions for protons in which a light gluino is included along with standard model quark, antiquark, and gluon constituents. A global analysis is performed of a large set of data from deep-inelastic lepton scattering, massive lepton pair and vector boson production, and hadron jet production at large values of transverse momentum. Constraints are obtained on the allowed range of gluino mass as a function of the value of t…
We use the color-spin and flavor-spin interaction Hamiltonians with SU(3) flavor symmetry breaking to obtain meson and baryon mass formulas. Adjusting these masses with experimental masses we determine the constituent quark masses. We discuss the constituent quark masses obtained from meson and baryon mass fits. The results for constituent quark masses are very similar in case of two different phenomenological models: Fermi-Breit and Glozman-Riska hyperfine interactions.
We show that the experimental data of $p_T$ spectra of identified hadrons released recently by ALICE collaboration for $p$-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=5.02$ TeV exhibit a distinct universal behavior --- the quark number scaling. We further show that the scaling is a direct consequence of quark (re-)combination mechanism of hadronization and can be regarded as a strong indication of the existence of the underlying source with constituent quark degree of freedom for the production of hadrons in $p$-Pb collisions at such high energies. We make also predictions for production of other hadrons.
An approach for describing the electromagnetic form factors of hadrons, in the space- and time-like regions, within a constituent quark model on the light front is shortly illustrated and calculations for the pion case are reported. Three main ingredients enter our approach: i) the dressed photon vertex where a photon decays in a quark-antiquark pair, ii) the on-shell quark-hadron vertex functions in the valence sector, and iii) the non-valence component of the hadron state.
Exotic hadrons are important because their existence or absence can provide important clues to understanding how QCD makes hadrons from quarks and gluons. The first experimentally confirmed exotic will be the first hadron containing both $qq$ and $\bar q q$ pairs and the first hadron containing color sextet and color octet pairs. Theoretical models are not very useful because there is no accepted model for multiquark systems with color-space correlations. The constituent quark model is the only phenomenological model with predictive power that has given experimentally tested universal predicti…
The structure of a dressed quark is utilized to evaluate the structure function of proton and pion. It is found that there is a simple relationship between $F_{2}^{p}$ and $F_{2}^π$. The ambiguity in the normalization of $F_{2}^π$ is discussed. Furthermore, the polarization structure function of the constituent (dressed) quark is calculated in the leading order. While, it does produce all the available data on polarized hadronic structure, it requires a significant contribution to the proton spin from the orbital angular momentum.
Longitudinal and transverse parton distributions for pion and nucleon are calculated from hadron vertexes obtained by a study of form factors within relativistic quark models. The relevance of the one-gluon-exchange dominance at short range for the behavior of the form factors at large momentum transfer and of the parton distributions at the end points is stressed.
We study the structure of constituent quarks by dressing bare quarks with the Goldstone bosons and its implications for quark distribution functions of hadrons $f_1(x)$, $g_1(x)$ and $h_1(x)$. In particular we discuss effects of the dressing on the nucleon spin structure, and find that contributions to chiral-odd $h_1(x)$ is quite different from those to $g_1 (x)$, which can be measured in the semi-inclusive polarized deep inelastic scattering.
We calculate the partonic structure of constituent quark in the Next-to-Leading Order for the first time. The structure of any hadron can be obtained thereafter using a convolution method. Such a procedure is used to generate the structure function of proton and pion in NLO. It is shown that while the constituent quark structure is generated purely perturbatively and accounts to most part of the hadronic structure, there is a few percent contributions coming from the nonperturbative sector in the hadronic structure. This contribution plays the key role in explaining the SU(2) symmetry breaking…
We investigate the meson, baryon and anti-baryon productions in πp and Kp collisions in terms of a constituent cascade model which includes charm flavour. The constituent diquark in an incident baryon has a tendency to get a large momentum fraction, resulting in considerable difference of subenergies for particle productions from quark-diquark and quark-antiquark chains in a meson-baryon collision. As a consequence, the leading particle effects on D meson productions are expected to be quite different in π+ and π- beams at present accelerator energies.
Based on the assumption of the production of deconfined quark matter, we use a quark combination model to systematically investigate hadron yields in heavy ion collisions from RHIC $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=200, 130, 62.4$ GeV to SPS $E_{beam}=158, 80, 40, 30, 20 $ AGeV. We find that as the collision energy is greater than or equal to 30 AGeV the yields of various hadrons, their correlations, in particular, the observables $A=\frac{\barΛ k^{-} p}{Λk^{+} \bar{p}}$ and $B=\frac{Λk^{-}\barΞ^{+}}{\barΛ k^{+}Ξ^{-}}$, are all reproduced; however, as the collision energy drops to 20 AGeV quark combination fails…
Glueballs and hybrids are predicted to exist but searches for them have failed to provide conclusive evidence. One--gluon exchange is not an important part of strong interactions in this energy regime. Instead, quarks seem to interact indirectly, via changes of the QCD vacuum. Strong interactions seem to be governed by instanton--induced interactions; the chiral soliton model gives a more suitable interpretation of the $Θ^+(1540)$ than models based on the dynamics of four quarks and one antiquark.
We calculate the partonic structure of a constituent quark in the Next-to-Leading Order framework. The structure of any hadron can be obtained thereafter using a convolution method. Such a procedure is used to generate the structure function of proton and pion in NLO, neglecting certain corrections to $Λ_{QCD}$. It is shown that while the constituent quark structure is generated purely perturbatively and accounts for the most part of the hadronic structure, there is a few percent contributions coming from the nonperturbative sector in the hadronic structure. This contribution plays the key rol…
The universality of single-spin asymmetry on inclusive pi-meson production is discussed. This universality can be related to the hadron substructure - constituent quarks.
The proper support of generalized parton distributions from relativistic constituent quark models with pointlike constituents is studied. The correct support is guaranteed when the vertex function does not depend on the relative minus-momentum. We show that including quark interactions in models with pointlike constituent quarks might lead to a support problem. A computation of the magnitude of the support problem in the Bonn relativistic constituent quark model is presented.
SCI model gives a good and natural description of DDIS cross-sections. Howevere, this model is pure phenomenological, and does not explain the nature of soft color rearrangment. In this paper we argue, that the most capabilities of SCI model can be derived from low constituent model and overview applicability of low constituent model to DDIS processes.
The up-dated three-phase concept of nuclear matter evolution in course of cooling down - from the phase of quark-qluon plasma (QGP) through the intermediate phase allowing for massive constituent quarks (valons), pions and kaons (QPK) to the phase of hadronic matter (H) - is exploited for the treatment of relative hadronic yields in the central region of heavy ion collisions. The most attention is paid to the description of the QPK-phase which is argued to be a gaseous one and lasts until the valonic spacing approaches the confinement radius (at the temperature about 110 MeV), when the valons …
The constituent counting rules, i.e., the scaling behavior of amplitudes (in terms of the number of fundamental constituents) for exclusive processes when high energy scales are present, have been known for decades, and have been borne out in a number of experiments. Such scaling would be sensitive, in particular, to possible exotic multiquark content. Here we examine how one may use the rules to test for pentaquarks in electroproduction, or for tetraquarks in e^+ e^- annihilation. An interesting new type of scaling (separate Mandelstam s and t behavior) arises in the forward scattering direct…
A formalism for the relativistic description of hadron decays within the constituent quark model is presented. First, hadron amplitudes of the light--cone constituent quark model, in particular the weak transition form factors at spacelike momentum transfers, $q^2\le 0$, are represented in the form of the dispersion integrals over the hadron mass. Second, the form factors at $q^2>0$ are obtained by performing the analytic continuation from the region $q^2<0$. As a result, the transition form factors both in the scattering and the decay regions are expressed through the light--cone wave functio…
Prompted by the recent surprising results in QCD spectroscopy, we extend to heavy flavors the hadron mass relations showing that the constituent quark mass differences and ratios have the same values when obtained from mesons and baryons. We obtain several new successful relations involving heavy quarks and provide some related predictions. We discuss in detail the apparent sharp decrease in m_s and m_c, when a light partner quark in a meson is replaced by a heavy one and construct a potential model which qualitatively reproduces this pattern through wave function effects. We apply these ideas…
The exclusive processes are considered, where a point-like source of heavy quark-antiquark pairs $Q \bar Q$, e.g. their electromagnetic current, produces a pair consisting of a heavy quarkoniumlike exotic meson (tetraquark) or baryon (pentaquark) and a light meson or an antibaryon. For a sufficiently large mass of the heavy quark $m_Q$ there is a range of the energy $E$ above the $Q \bar Q$ threshold, where $E \ll m_Q$ and still the energy is large compared to the strong interaction scale, $E \gg Λ_{QCD}$. It is shown that in this energy range, where the heavy quarks are nonrelelativistic, a s…
The hadronic contributions to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon which are relevant for the confrontation between theory and experiment at the present level of accuracy, are evaluated within the same framework: the constituent chiral quark model. This includes the contributions from the dominant hadronic vacuum polarization as well as from the next--to--leading order hadronic vacuum polarization, the contributions from the hadronic light-by-light scattering, and the contributions from the electroweak hadronic $Zγγ$ vertex. They are all evaluated as a function of only one free parameter:…
In order to get a more realistic description of the hadron spectrum we extend a constituent-quark model by explicit mesonic degrees of freedom. The resulting system of constituent (anti)quarks, which are subject to an instantaneous confining force, and mesons, which couple directly to the quarks, is treated by means of a relativistic coupled-channel framework. It can be formally shown that the mass-eigenvalue problem for such a system is equivalent to a hadronic eigenvalue problem in which the eigenstates of the pure confinement potential (bare hadrons) are coupled via meson loops. Following t…
A model which combines the perturbative behavior of QCD with low energy phenomenology in a unified framework is developed. This is achieved by applying a similarity transformation to the QCD Hamiltonian which removes interactions between the ultraviolet cutoff and an arbitrary lower scale. Iteration then yields a renormalization group improved effective Hamiltonian at the hadronic energy scale. The procedure preserves the standard ultraviolet behavior of QCD. Furthermore, the Hamiltonian evolves smoothly to a phenomenological low energy behavior below the hadronic scale. This method has the be…
We exhibit static solutions of multi-flavour QCD in two dimensions that have the quantum numbers of baryons and mesons, constructed out of quark and anti-quark solitons. In isolation the latter solitons have infinite energy, corresponding to the presence of a string carrying the non-singlet colour flux off to spatial infinity. When $N_c$ solitons of this type are combined, a static, finite-energy, colour singlet solution is formed, corresponding to a baryon. Similarly, static meson solutions are formed out of a soliton and an anti-soliton of different flavours. The stability of the mesons agai…
It may be possible to derive a constituent approximation for bound states in QCD using hamiltonian light-front field theory. Cutoffs that violate explicit gauge invariance and Lorentz covariance must be employed. A similarity renormalization group and coupling coherence are used to compute the effective hamiltonian as an expansion in powers of the canonical QCD running coupling constant. At second order the QCD hamiltonian contains a confining interaction, which is being studied using bound state perturbation theory. Explicit constituent masses appear because of symmetry violations, and confin…
We propose a simple way to connect Gell-Mann constituent quark model and Feynman parton model for the nucleon. Thus, we can dynamically understand a large amount of data for high energy hadronic processes starting from the first QCD principle.
We study the effect of temperature (T) and baryon density (μ) dependent hadron masses on the thermodynamics of hadronic matter. We use linear scaling rule in terms of constituent quark masses for all hadrons except for light mesons. T and μ dependent constituent quark masses and the light mesons masses are computed using 2+1 flavor Nambu-Jona-Lasinio (NJL) model. We compute the thermodynamical quantities of hadronic matter within excluded volume hadron resonance gas model (EHRG) with these T and μ dependent hadron masses. We confront the thermodynamical quantities with the lattice quantum chro…
Small momentum transfer elastic proton-proton cross-section at high energies is calculated assuming the nucleon composed of two constituents - a quark and a diquark. A comparison to data (described very well up to -t = 2 GeV^2/c) allows to determine some properties of the constituents. While quark turns out fairly small, the diquark appears to be rather large, comparable to the size of the proton.
The spin of a composite particle, like a nucleus or a hadron, is generated by the composition of angular moments (consisting of spins and orbital angular moments) of the constituents. The composition of two angular moments is done by the standard way with the use of Clebsch-Gordan coefficients. However, if there are more than two constituents, the composition must be done in a hierarchical way, which admits more ways leading to the same resulting spin state |J, J_{z}>. Different composition patterns can generate states with the same spin quantum numbers, but which may vary in the contributions…
We consider mechanism for one-spin asymmetries observed in inclusive hadron production. The main role belongs to the orbital angular momentum of the quark-antiquark cloud in the internal structure of constituent quarks. We argue that the origin of the asymmetries in pion production is a result of retaining of this internal angular orbital momentum by the perturbative phase of QCD under transition from the non-perturbative phase. The non-perturbative hadron structure is based on the results of chiral quark models. PACS number(s): 11.30.Qc, 12.40.Pp, 13.75.Ni, 13.88.+e
The possibility of unified description of hadron multiple production in heavy ion collisions over the wide energy interval, from few hundreds MeV/n at GSI/SIS through 11 GeV/n at BNL/AGS up to 160 GeV/n at CERN/SPS, has been emphasized recently by J. Cleymans and K. Redlich. They, and somewhat later B. Muller and J. Rafelski, treated this fact as an indication that quark-gluon plasma (QGP) can be produced even at very low energies of impinging nuclei. In our opinion, it rather witnesses that a massive constituent quark (valon) - not massless current quark and gluon! - is just what becomes "qui…
A method is described for calculating the Generalized Parton Distributions (GPDs) of spin 1/2 hadrons made of composite constituents, in an Impulse Approximation framework. GPDs are obtained from the convolution between the light cone non-diagonal momentum distribution of the hadron and the GPD of the constituent. DIS structure functions and electromagnetic form factors are consistently recovered with the proposed formalism. Results are presented for the nucleon and for the $^3$He nucleus. For a nucleon assumed to be made of composite constituent quarks, the proposed scheme permits to study th…
Using a statistical approach in the framework of non-covariant perturbation theory the distributions for light and charmed quarks in the hadron have been derived, taking into account the mass of the charmed quark. The parameters of the model have been extracted from the comparison with NA3 data on hadroproduction of J/psi particles. A reanalysis of the EMC data on charm production in muon-nucleon scattering has been performed. It has been found in comparison with the conventional source of charmed quarks from photon-gluon fusion, that the EMC data indicate the presence of an additional contrib…
Within conventional constituent-quark models hadrons come out as stable bound states of the valence (anti)quarks. Thereby the resonance character of hadronic excitations is completely ignored. A more realistic description of hadron spectra can be achieved by including explicit mesonic degrees of freedom, which couple directly to the constituent quarks. We will present a coupled-channel formalism that describes such hybrid systems in a relativistically invariant way and allows for the decay of excited hadrons. The formalism is based on the point-form of relativistic quantum mechanics. If the co…
Peripheral nucleon-nucleus collisions occur at the high energies mainly through the interaction with one constituent quark from the incident nucleon. The central collisions should involve all three constituent quarks and each of them can interact several times. We calculate the average number of quark-nucleus interactions for both the cases in good agreement with the experimental data on $ϕ$-meson, $K^{*0}$ and all charged secondaries productions in $p+Pb$ collisions at LHC energy $\sqrt s = 5$ TeV.
We discuss a nonperturbative mechanism for one-spin asymmetries in inclusive hadron production. The main role in generation of this asymmetry belongs to the orbital angular momentum of quark-antiquark cloud in internal structure of constituent quarks.
Treating the light-flavor constituent quarks and antiquarks that can well describe the data of light-flavor hadrons in $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=7$ TeV as the underlying source of chromatically neutralizing the charm quarks of low transverse momenta ($p_{T}$), we show that the experimental data of $p_{T}$ spectra of single-charm hadrons $D^{0,+}$, $D^{*+}$ $D_{s}^{+}$, $Λ_{c}^{+}$ and $Ξ_{c}^{0}$ at mid-rapidity in the low $p_{T}$ range ($2\lesssim p_{T}\lesssim7$ GeV/$c$) in $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=7$ TeV can be well understood by the equal-velocity combination of perturbatively-creat…
We improve the excluded volume hadron resonances gas model (EHRG) to cure the acausal behavior of the sound velocity which is typical of excluded volume models. We achieve this by including temperature (T) and density (μ) dependent hadron masses in the partition function of EHRG. The temperature and density dependent masses of the constituent quarks (u,d,s) and the light mesons are obtained within Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model while for the heavy hadrons we use linear scaling rule in terms of constituent quarks. With this improvement, we observe that the velocity of sound flattens at high temperatu…
Based on first principle QCD arguments, it has been argued in arXiv:1204.2424[hep-ph] that the vacuum expectation value of the Polyakov loop can be represented in the hadron resonance gas model. We study this within the Polyakov-constituent quark model by implementing the quantum and local nature of the Polyakov loop hep-ph/0412308, hep-ph/0607338. The existence of exotic states in the spectrum is discussed.
We compare two widely used approaches to the description of hadron properties: QCD sum rules and constituent quark models. Making use of the dispersion formulation of the quark model, we show that both approaches lead to similar spectral representations for hadron observables with an important difference that quark model is based on Feynman diagrams with massive quarks, whereas QCD sum rules are based on the same Feynman diagrams for current quarks with the additional condensate contributions for light quarks and gluons. We give arguments for a similarity of the smearing function in sum rules …
We show that the data of $p_{T}$ spectra of $Ω^{-}$ and $ϕ$ at midrapidity in inelastic events in $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=$ 13 TeV exhibit a constituent quark number scaling property, which is a clear signal of quark combination mechanism at hadronization. We use a quark combination model under equal velocity combination approximation to systematically study the production of identified hadrons in $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}$= 13 TeV. The midrapidity data of $p_{T}$ spectra of proton, $Λ$, $Ξ^{-}$, $Ω^{-}$, $ϕ$ and $K^{*}$ in inelastic events are simultaneously well fitted by the model. …
We consider mechanism for hyperon polarization in inclusive production. The main role belongs to the orbital angular momentum and polarization of the strange quark-antiquark pairs in the internal structure of the constituent quarks. We consider a nucleon as a core consisting of the constituent quarks embedded into quark condensate. The nonperturbative hadron structure is based on the results of chiral quark models.
The anomalously large rates of some hadronic transitions from quarkonium are studied using QCD multipole expansion (QCDME) in the framework of a constituent quark model which has been successful in describing hadronic phenomenology. The hybrid intermediate states needed in the QCDME method are calculated in a natural extension of our constituent quark model based on the Quark Confining String (QCS) scheme. Some of the anomalies are explained due to the presence of an hybrid state with a mass near the mass of the decaying resonance whereas other are justified by the presence of molecular compon…
Hypothesis of quark binding through condensation of gluons inside hadrons is formulated in the context of a renormalization group procedure for effective particles (RGPEP) in the light-front (LF) Hamiltonian approach to QCD. At the momentum scales of relative motion of hadronic constituents that are comparable with Lambda_QCD, the hypothetical boost-invariant constituent dynamics is identified using gauge symmetry. The resulting picture of mesons and baryons closely resembles constituent quark models with harmonic oscillator potentials, shares some features of AdS/QCD, and can be systematicall…
A simple and general law of mass, intrinsically with zero freely-adaptable parameters, is shown to be valid for all the hadrons with one or more flavored (s, c, or b) quarks/antiquarks, both baryons and mesons. It establishes correspondences H-->{P_i} between these hadrons with at least one flavored constituent, H, and specific sets of lighter particles, {P_i}, in which the total baryon and lepton numbers are conserved. The law is polynomial with a varying degree that univocally depends only on the particles involved. Its statement may be given straightforwardly in terms of the binomial series…
Bloom-Gilman duality demonstrates empirically that the electroproduction of $N^*$'s at low momentum transfers averages smoothly around the scaling curve measured at large momentum transfers. The latter is proportional to the sum of the squares of the constituent charges whereas the former involves the coherent excitation of resonances and is driven by the square of summed constituent charges. We determine the minimal necessary conditions for this equality to be realised so that duality can occur and consider the implications for a range of processes that may be studied soon at CEBAF.
The development of a Modified Perturbation Theory for QCD, introduced in previous works, is continued. The gluon propagator is modified as consequence of a soft gluon pairs condensate in the vacuum. The modified Feynman rules for $α=1$ are shown, and some physical magnitudes calculated with them. The mean value of $G^{2}$, gluon masses and the effective potential are calculated up to the $g^2$ order, improving previous calculations. In connection with the gluon self-energy it follows that the gluonic mass shell becomes tachyonic in the considered approximation. The constituent quarks masses, p…
QCD constituent counting rules define the scaling behavior of exclusive hadronic scattering and electromagnetic scattering amplitudes at high momentum transfer in terms of the total number of fundamental constituents in the initial and final states participating in the hard subprocess. The scaling laws reflect the twist of the leading Fock state for each hadron and hence the leading operator that creates the composite state from the vacuum. Thus, the constituent counting scaling laws can be used to identify the twist of exotic hadronic candidates such as tetraquarks and pentaquarks. Effective …
In this conference summary talk at Hadron03, questions and challenges for Hadron physics of light flavours are outlined. Precision data and recent discoveries are at last exposing the limitations of the naive constituent quark model and also giving hints as to its extension into a more mature description of hadrons. These notes also pay special attention to the positive strangeness baryon $Θ^+(1540)$ and include a pedagogic discussion of wavefunctions in the pentaquark picture, their relation with the Skyrme model and related issues of phenomenology.
On the basis of the mechanism proposed earlier for one-spin asymmetries in inclusive hadron production we consider OZI--suppressed process of $φ$-meson production $pp\rightarrow φX$ and asymmetry $A_N(φ)$ in this process. The main role in generation of this asymmetry belongs to the orbital angular momentum of strange quark-antiquark cloud in internal structure of constituent quarks.
We study the effect of finite chemical potential for the QGP constituents in the Ramanathan et al. statistical model (Phys.Rev.C70, 027903,2004). While the earlier computations using this model with vanishing chemical potentials indicated a weakly first order phase transition for the system in the vicinity of 170 MeV (Pramana, 68, 757, 2007), the introduction of finite values for the chemical potentials of the constituents makes the transition a smooth roll over of the phases, while allowing fireball formation with radius of a few "fermi" to take place. This seems to be in conformity with the …
Light-front coordinates offer a scenario in which a constituent approximation of hadron structure can emerge from QCD. This requires cutoffs that violate Lorentz covariance and gauge invariance, and a new renormalization group formalism based on a similarity transformation is used with coupling coherence to fix counterterms that restore these symmetries. The counterterms contain functions of longitudinal momentum fractions which severely complicate renormalization, but they also offer possible resolutions of apparent contradictions between the constituent picture and QCD. The similarity transf…
The hybrid meson is one of the most interesting new hadron specie beyond the naive quark model. It acquire a great attention both from the theoretical and experimental efforts. Many good candidates have been claimed to be observed, but there is no absolute confirmation about existence of hybrid mesons. In the present work we propose new calculations of the masses and decay widths of the hybrid mesons in the context of constituent gluon model.
The molecular picture and the constituent-quark model of exotic hadrons are reviewed, with application to the states recently discovered in the hidden-charm and hidden beauty sectors, and to other configurations.
