The cohomological comparison arising from the associated abelian object

We make explicit some conditions on a semi-abelian category D such that, for any abelian group A in D and any object Y in D, the cohomology group homomorphisms with coefficients in A, induced by the inclusion of the abelian objects of D at the level of the slice category D/Y, are actually isomorphisms. These conditions hold in particular when D is the category Gp of groups, and this allows us to give a new insight on the Eilenberg-Mac Lane cohomology of groups. They hold also when D is the category K-Lie of Lie-algebras.

A note on cohomological localization

Given a cohomological functor from a triangulated category to an abelian category, we construct under appropriate assumptions for any localization functor of the abelian category a lift to a localization functor of the triangulated category. This discussion of Bousfield localization is combined with a basic introduction to the concept of localization for arbitrary categories.

Cohomological characterizations of non-abelian extensions of strict Lie 2-algebras

In this paper, we study non-abelian extensions of strict Lie 2-algebras via the cohomology theory. To characterize categorical constraints - associativity, commutativity and monoidality - in the context of quasimonoidal categories, from a cohomological point of view, we define the notion of a parity (quasi)complex. Complexity and cohomology of cohomological Mackey functors

Let $k$ be a field of characteristic $p>0$. Call a finite group $G$ a poco group over $k$ if any finitely generated cohomological Mackey functor for $G$ over $k$ has polynomial growth. The main result of this paper is that $G$ is a poco group over $k$ if and only if the Sylow $p$-subgroups of $G$ are cyclic, when $p>2$, or have sectional rank at most 2, when $p=2$. General heart construction on a triangulated category (II): Associated cohomological functor

In the preceding part (I) of this paper, we showed that for any torsion pair (i.e., $t$-structure without the shift-closedness) in a triangulated category, there is an associated abelian category, which we call the heart. Two extremal cases of torsion pairs are $t$-structures and cluster tilting subcategories. Mackey functors and abelian class field theories

Motivated by the work of Jürgen Neukirch and Ivan Fesenko we propose a general definition of an abelian class field theory from a purely group-theoretical and functorial point of view. Abelian categories arising from cluster-tilting subcategories II: quotient functors

In this paper, we consider a kind of ideal quotient of an extriangulated category such that the ideal is the kernel of a functor from this extriangulated category to an abelian category. G - functors arising from categorical group actions on abelian categories

A Mackey type decomposition for group actions on abelian categories is described. This allows us to define new Mackey functors which associates to any subgroup the $K$-theory of the corresponding equivariantized abelian category. In the case of an action by tensor autoequivalences the Mackey functor at the level of Grothendieck rings has a Green functor structure. As an application we give a description of the Grothendieck rings of equivariantized fusion categories under group actions by tensor autoequivalences on graded fusion categories.
