Some predictions concerning possible results of the future JLab experiments on the pion form factor F_pi(Q^2) are made. The calculations exploit the method proposed previously by the authors and based on the instant-form Poincare invariant approach to pion considered as a quark-antiquark system. Long ago, this model has predicted with surprising accuracy the values of F_pi(Q^2) measured later in JLab experiment. The results are almost independent from the form of wave function. The pion mean square radius <r^2_pi> and the decay constant f_pi also agree with experimental values. The model gives power-like asymptotic behavior of F_pi(Q^2) at high momentum transfer in agreement with QCD predictions.
This volume is a short summary of talks given at the PKI2018 Workshop organized to discuss current status and future prospects of pi-K interactions. The precise data on pi-K interaction will have a strong impact on strange meson spectroscopy and form factors that are important ingredients in the Dalitz plot analysis of a decays of heavy mesons as well as precision measurement of Vus matrix element and therefore on a test of unitarity in the first raw of the CKM matrix. The workshop has combined the efforts of experimentalists, Lattice QCD, and phenomenology communities. Experimental data relev…
We calculate the nonperturbative two-pion exchange (TPE) contributions to the $NN$ interaction in covariant baryon chiral perturbation theory. We study how the nonperturbative resummation affects the $NN$ phase shifts for partial waves with $J \geq 3$ and $L \leq 6$. No significant differences are observed between the nonperturbative phase shifts and perturbative ones for most partial waves except for $^3D_3$, for which the nonperturbative resummation greatly improves the description of the phase shifts. However, a significant cutoff dependence is found for this partial wave and a reasonable d…

Almost 50 years after the discovery of gluons & quarks, we are only just beginning to understand how QCD builds the basic bricks for nuclei: neutrons, protons, and the pions that bind them. QCD is characterised by two emergent phenomena: confinement & dynamical chiral symmetry breaking (DCSB). They are expressed with great force in the character of the pion. In turn, pion properties suggest that confinement & DCSB are closely connected. As both a Nambu-Goldstone boson and a quark-antiquark bound-state, the pion is unique in Nature. Developing an understanding of its properties is thus critical…
By considering a one loop background field method for a nonperturbative one gluon exchange between quarks, leading electromagnetic form factors of pion couplings to constituent quarks are derived by means of from a large quark and gluon effective masses expansion. With this calculation the leading anisotropic corrections induced by a weak magnetic field for the pion-constituent quark form factors are obtained. Besides that, few effective couplings which emerge only due to the weak magnetic field that break chiral and isospin symmetry are also found. Numerical estimations for these magnetic fie…
