We present measurements of the top quark mass based on 3.6 fb^-1 of data collected by the D0 experiment during Run II of the Fermilab Tevatron collider. We present results in the dilepton and lepton+jets final states. We also present the measurement of the mass difference between t and tbar quarks observed in lepton+jets final states of ttbar events in 1 fb^-1 of data.
The top-quark mass measurements carried out by the LHC experiments, ATLAS and CMS, are summarized. Results of different approaches to the top-quark mass reconstruction are presented. Masses from different measurements are in good agreement within uncertainties. Precision of the measurements with the directly measured top-quark mass is now better than 0.5%. Progress in determination of the top-quark pole mass is reported and the relation between the directly measured top-quark mass and top-quark pole mass is discussed.
Measurement of the top quark mass in topologies enhanced with single top quarks produced in the $t$-channel at $\sqrt{s}=8\,\mathrm{TeV}$ using the ATLAS experiment
We describe the latest results obtained by the CMS Collaboration on top quark spin and polarization properties. The top quark spin asymmetry is measured both targeting single-top quark production in the $t$-channel and single-top quark production in association with a Z boson. Additionally, all the independent coefficients of the spin-dependent part of the top quark-antiquark production density matrix are measured and the results are extrapolated to the High-Luminosity LHC scenario.
Recent analyses of top quark production in association with vector bosons are summarized, representing the most precise inclusive and differential cross section measurements of these processes to date. Proton-proton collision data at a center-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s}=13$ TeV, recorded by the ATLAS and CMS detectors at the LHC are analyzed, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of up to 139 fb$^{-1}$ for each experiment. Comparisons with theory calculations are performed and overall good agreement with standard model predictions are obtained.
Cross-section measurements of top-quark pair production where the hadronically decaying top quark has transverse momentum greater than $355$ GeV and the other top quark decays into $\ell νb$ are presented using 139 fb$^{-1}$ of data collected by the ATLAS experiment during proton-proton collisions at the LHC. The fiducial cross-section at $\sqrt{s}=13$ TeV is measured to be $σ= 1.267 \pm 0.005 \pm 0.053$ pb, where the uncertainties reflect the limited number of data events and the systematic uncertainties, giving a total uncertainty of $4.2\%$. The cross-section is measured differentially as a…
Studies of top quark properties using data collected by the CMS experiment are presented, including direct measurements of properties or extractions using differential cross section measurements. The latest results on top quark mass measurements using multiple kinematic distributions in a likelihood technique as well as the top quark pole mass derived from $\textrm{t}\bar{\textrm{t}}$+jet cross section measurements will be discussed.
The top quark is the heaviest known fundamental particle. As it is the only quark that decays without hadronisation, it provides the unique opportunity to probe the properties of bare quarks at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). This article will present two recent measurements of the top quark using 13TeV collision data with the ATLAS experiment: the top and anti-top quark pair charge asymmetry measurement alongside the first test of lepton flavour universality (LFU) of leptons to W bosons from tt events.
