Doubly charged Higgs bosons, H^{\pm\pm}, are being searched for in the Tevatron experiments. The most recent search by the D0 collaboration seeks three muons (mu^\pmμ^\pmμ^\mp), which are assumed to originate from the pair-production process, q\overline q\to H^{++}H^{--}, followed by the decay H^{\pm\pm} \to μ^\pm μ^\pm. In this three-lepton (3l) channel there are six distinct signatures for l=e or μ. In the context of the Higgs Triplet Model, we quantify the dependence of the event numbers for the 3l channels on the parameters of the neutrino mass matrix. It is also shown that the inclusion of the production mechanism q \overline{q'} \to H^{\pm\pm}H^{\mp}, followed by the decay H^\pm\to l^ \pmν, would significantly increase the discovery potential in these channels. We then provide perspectives on the production of these channels at the Tevatron and LHC.
We studied the signatures of an electroweak SU(2) lepton triplet which contains a doubly charged heavy lepton. The most interesting and easily detected final states are originating from the doubly charged lepton pair and single production, that we analyzed at a center of mass energy of 14 TeV. We propose useful kinematic cuts to reduce the backgrounds and computed the integrated luminosity needed to discover or exclude the doubly charged leptons for various masses.
We examine the slepton masses of SUSYLR models and how they change due the presence of light-doubly charged higgs bosons. We discover that the measurement of the slepton masses could bound and even predict the value of the third generation Yukawa coupling of leptons to the SU(2)_R Triplets. We also consider the unification prospects for this model with the addition of left-handed, B - L = 0 triplets--a model we call the Triplet Extended Supersymmetric Standard Model (TESSM). Finally, we discuss the changes in the slepton masses due to the presence of the SU(2)_L triplets.
The Higgs triplet model (HTM) predicts the existence of a pair of doubly charged Higgs bosons $H^{\pm \pm}$. Single production of $H^{\pm \pm}$ via e collision at the next generation e+e- International Linear Collider (ILC) and the Large Hadron electron Collider (LHeC) is considered. The numerical results show that the production cross sections are very sensitive to the neutrino oscillation parameters. Their values for the inverted hierarchy mass spectrum are larger than those for the normal hierarchy mass spectrum at these two kinds of collider experiments. With reasonable values of the relev…
The type II seesaw mechanism for neutrino mass generation usually makes use of one complex scalar triplet. The collider signature of the doubly-charged scalar, the most striking feature of this scenario, consists mostly in decays into same-sign dileptons or same-sign $W$ boson pairs. However, certain scenarios of neutrino mass generation, such as those imposing texture zeros by a symmetry mechanism, require at least two triplets in order to be consistent with type-II the seesaw mechanism. We develop a model with two such complex triplets and show that, in such a case, mixing between the triplet…
We studied the signatures at the LHC of the electroweak SU(2) lepton doublet which embeds a doubly charged lepton. The doubly charged lepton pair and single production rates, which are different from the triplet case, are studied and all the detectable decay modes are considered. We also applied the same kinematic cuts as in triplet case to reduce the background at LHC and the needed integrated luminosities to find the doubly charged leptons with different masses are analyzed. We also suggested a method to distinguish the exotic lepton doublet and triplet.
We study the production of doubly charged excited leptons at the LHC. These exotic states are predicted in extended weak isospin composite models. A recent analysis of such exotic states was based on a pure gauge model with magnetic type interactions. We include here the mechanism of contact interactions and show that this turns out to dominate the production of the doubly charged leptons. We perform a feasibility analysis of the observation of the tri-lepton signature associated with the production of the exotic doubly charged lepton simulating the response of a generic detector. We give excl…
In the framework of Higgs triplet model (HTM), we study the pair production process of doubly charged Higgs bosons via $e^{+}e^{-}$ annihilation in the presence of a laser field with circular polarization . We begin our work by presenting the theoretical calculation of the differential cross section in the centre of mass frame including both $Z$ and $γ$ diagrams. Then, from the numerical analysis of the production cross section's dependence on the laser field parameters, we have shown that the laser-assisted total cross section decreases as far as the electromagnetic field intensity enhances o…
The Higgs sector of the standard model can be extended by introducing an $SU(2)_L$ Higgs triplet $Δ$ to generate the tiny neutrino masses in the framework of type-II seesaw mechanism. In this paper, we study the pair production of the introduced Higgs triplet at future $e^{-}p$ colliders. The corresponding production cross sections via vector boson fusion process at FCC-ep and ILC$\otimes$FCC are predicted, where the production of a pair of doubly charged Higgs is found to be dominant and then used to investigate the collider phenomenology of the Higgs triplet. Depending on the size of the Hig…
We search for lepton flavour violating couplings via doubly charged bilepton (or doubly charged Higgs) exchange in electron-positron annihilation process $ \text{e}^{+}\text{e}^{-}\to μ^{+}μ^{-}, τ^{+}τ^{-}$ using CERN LEP data at the center of mass energies between 189-207 GeV. Standard model program ZFITTER has been used to calculate radiative corrections. We find that $g_{L}^{2}/M_{L}^{2}<O(10^{-6})GeV^{-2}$ at 95% C.L. for flavour violating scalar and vector bilepton couplings.
The Higgs Triplet Model (HTM) of neutrino mass generation predicts the existence of doubly charged Higgs bosons (H^{\pm\pm}). In the HTM a scalar eigenstate (H_2) is dominantly composed of the scalar field from the isospin doublet, and could be significantly heavier than H^{\pm\pm}. Such a scenario would allow the possibility of a large branching ratio for the decay H_2-> H^{++}H^{--}. From the production mechanism of gluon-gluon fusion, gg-> H_2, the above decay mode would give rise to pair production of doubly charged Higgs bosons (H^{++}H^{--}) with a cross section which could be significan…
The existence of doubly charged Higgs bosons (H^{\pm\pm}) is a distinctive feature of the Higgs Triplet Model (HTM), in which neutrinos obtain tree-level masses from the vacuum expectation value of a neutral scalar in a triplet representation of SU(2)_L. We point out that a large branching ratio for the decay of a singly charged Higgs boson to a doubly charged Higgs boson via H^\pm\to H^{\pm\pm}W^* is possible in a sizeable parameter space of the HTM. From the production mechanism q'qbar\to W^* \to H^{\pm\pm}H^\mp the above decay mode would give rise to pair production of H^{\pm\pm}, with a cr…
The lepton-number-violating decays of $B^+, D^+$ and $D_s^+$ mesons induced by the doubly charged Higgs boson have been studied. It is found that although the yielded results of the branch ratio are much smaller than the present limits from the data they are consistent with the previous conclusions calculated in the framwork of relativistic quark model where the processes happened via the light Majorana neutrinos.
We discuss the production of the doubly charged leptons in future linear electron positron colliders, such as the International Linear Collider and Compact Linear Collider. Such states are introduced in extended weak-isospin multiplets by composite models. We discuss the production cross section of $e^-γ\rightarrow L^{--}W^{+}$ and carry out analyses for hadronic, semi-leptonic and pure leptonic channels based on the full simulation performance of the Silicon Detector. The 3- and 5-sigma statistical significance exclusion curves are provided in the model parameter space. It is found that the h…
The doubly-charged scalar boson H^{--} is involved in several new physics models for generating neutrino masses. Depending on new physics models, H^{--} has the Yukawa interaction with a pair of left-handed charged leptons or a pair of right-handed ones. In this talk, we see that these two Yukawa interactions can be distinguished by measuring energy distributions of charged pions produced by decays of tau leptons if pair-produced H^{++} H^{--} can decay sufficiently into four charged leptons which involve one or two tau leptons. The information on the Yukawa interaction of H^{--} will help to …
The production at the LHC of exotic excited leptons of charge $Q = +2e$ is considered. Such states are predicted in composite models with extended isospin multiplets ($I_{W}=1$ and $I_{W}=3/2$). The coupling among these doubly charged leptons and Standard Model fermions may occurs either via gauge or contact interactions. In the former case the decay channels are more constrained. We study the production cross section at the LHC of $L^{++}$ ($pp \rightarrow L^{++} \, \ell^{-}$) and focus on the leptonic signature deriving from the subsequent decays $L^{++} \rightarrow W^{+} \ell^{+} \rightarro…
We explore discrimination of two types of leptonic Yukawa interactions associated with Higgs triplet, $\bar L^c_L ΔL_L$, and with $SU(2)$ singlet doubly charged scalar, $\bar e_R^c k^{++} e_R$. These interactions can be distinguished by measuring the effects of doubly charged scalar boson exchange in the $e^+ e^- \to \ell^+ ell^-$ processes at polarized electron-positron colliders. We study a forward-backward asymmetry of scattering angular distribution to estimate the sensitivity for these effects at the ILC. In addition, we investigate prospects of upper bounds on the Yukawa couplings by com…
The neutral triplet scalars (H^0, A^0) in the Higgs Triplet Model (HTM) are difficult to detect at the LHC for the case of mass degeneracy with the singly charged (H^+) and doubly charged (H^++) scalars. A non-zero value of a specific quartic coupling in the scalar potential removes this degeneracy, and positive values of this coupling would give rise to the mass hierarchy m_{A^0,H^0} > m_{H^+} > m_{H^++}. In this scenario the decays H^0-> H^+ W^* and A^0-> H^+ W^*, followed by H^+ -> H^{++} W^*, can proceed with large branching ratios, even for small mass splittings among the triplet scalars.…
We search for the doubly charged leptons ($L^{--}$) predicted in composite models including extended weak isospin multiplets namely, $I_{W}=1$ and $I_{W}=3/2$ at the Future Circular Collider (FCC)-based energy-frontier electron-proton colliders with the center-of-mass energies of $\sqrt{s}=3.46$ TeV, $\sqrt{s}=10$ TeV, and $\sqrt{s}=31.6$ TeV, respectively. We deal with the $e^{-}p\rightarrow L^{--}X\rightarrow e^{-}W^{-}X$ process, calculate the production cross sections and give the normalized transverse momentum and pseudorapiditiy distributions of final state electron to obtain the kinemat…
We reconsider the single production of the doubly charged Higgs bosons Delta_R^{++} and Delta_L^{++} at the LHC and TEVATRON in the framework of the left-right symmetric model and the Higgs triplet model. We show that in the left-right symmetric model the production of Delta_R^{++} by Drell-Yan process via W_R exchange may give the dominant contribution. The same channel for the production of Delta_L^{++} in the Higgs triplet model is insignificant.
Using a bottom up phenomenological approach we constructed a simple doubly charged vector lepton $E^{\pm\pm}$ model for the possible 750 GeV diphoton resonance $Φ$ at the LHC assuming it to be a scalar particle. Since no stable doubly charged leptons are seen, to facilitate their decays we complete the model by adding a charged SM electroweak scalar $S^\pm$. $Φ$ is a SM singlet and can be either an inert scalar or a Higgs field. In the inert case more than one vector lepton are required to account for the photon fusion production of the resonance if the model is to remain perturbative. For a H…
We analyze the phenomenological implications of introducing vector-like leptons on the Higgs sector in the Higgs Triplet Model. We impose only a parity symmetry which disallows mixing between the new states and the ordinary leptons. If the vector leptons are allowed to be relatively light, they enhance or suppress the decay rates of loop-dominated neutral Higgs bosons decays h -> gamma gamma and h -> Z gamma, and affect their correlation. An important consequence is that, for light vector leptons, the decay patterns of the the doubly-charged Higgs boson will be altered, modifying the restricti…
The discovery of a standard model (SM)-like Higgs boson with a relatively heavy mass $m_h$ and hints of di-photon excess has deep implication to supersymmetric standard models (SSMs). We consider the SSM extended with hypercharge $\pm1$ triplets, and investigate two scenarios of it: (A) Triplets significantly couple to the Higgs doublets, which can substantially raise $m_h$ and simultaneously enhance the Higgs to di-photon rate via light chargino loops; (B) Oppositely, these couplings are quite weak and thus $m_h$ can not be raised. But the doubly-charged Higgs bosons, owing to the gauge group…
CMS and ATLAS have searched for a doubly-charged boson $H^{\pm\pm}$ which may arise from type II seesaw in the 7 TeV run at the LHC by considering pair or associated production of doubly-charged bosons under the assumption of degenerate triplet scalars. In this work, we consider non-degenerate triplet components with the mass gap $ΔM \sim 1 - 40$ GeV which leads to enhanced pair-production cross-sections of $H^{\pm\pm}$ added by the gauge decays of the heavier neutral and singly-charged bosons. We reevaluate the constraints in the $ΔM-M_{H^{++}}$ plane depending on the triplet vacuum expectati…
We investigate simplified models involving an inert scalar triplet and vector-like leptons that can account for the muon $g-2$ anomaly. These simplified scenarios are embedded in a model that features W' and Z' bosons, which are subject to stringent collider bounds. The constraints coming from the muon $g-2$ anomaly are put into perspective with collider bounds, as well as bounds coming from lepton flavor violation searches. The region of parameter space that explains the $g-2$ anomaly is shown to be within reach of lepton flavor violation probes and future colliders such as HL-LHC and HE-LHC.
We suppose that lepton number is explicitly broken at low energy scale(M) in the framework of the Higgs triplet($Δ$) model. The scalar sector of the model is developed considering the particular assumption $M=v_Δ\approx$ eV. We show that such assumption infers a particular mass spectrum for the scalars that compose the triplet and cause a decoupling of these scalars from those that compose the standard scalar doublet.
We study lepton-number-violating (LNV) decays of heavy flavors ($τ$ lepton and top quark) induced by doubly-charged Higgs boson in the Higgs triplet model. It is found that the branching fractions of LNV $τ^- \to \ell^{+}M_1^-M_2^-$ decays are highly suppressed compared with the current experimental limits. On the other hand, for LNV top quark decays, the most optimistic branching ratios for $t \to b\ell^{+}\ell^{+}W^{-}$ turn out to be at the level of $\sim 10^{-7} - 10^{-8}$. The observation of these rare top quark decays would be a clear signal of LNV processes, and their non-observation wo…
The inverse seesaw mechanism of neutrino mass, i.e. m_nu = (m_D^2/m_N^2)epsilon_L where epsilon_L is small, is discussed in the context of the U(1)_Sigma model. This is a gauge extension of the Standard Model of particle interactions with lepton triplets (Sigma^+,Sigma^),Sigma^-) as (Type III) seesaw anchors for obtaining small Majorana neutrino masses.
The doubly charged scalar boson (H^{\pm\pm}) is introduced in several models of the new physics beyond the standard model. The H^{\pm\pm} has Yukawa interactions with two left-handed charged leptons or two right-handed charged leptons depending on the models. We study kinematical properties of H^{\pm\pm} decay products through tau leptons in order to discriminate the chiral structures of the new Yukawa interaction. The chirality of tau leptons can be measured by the energy distributions of the tau decay products, and thus the chiral structure of the new Yukawa interaction can be traced in the …
Doubly charged scalars are common figures in several beyond the Standard Model studies, especially those related to neutrino masses. In this work, we estimate the High-Luminosity (HL-LHC) and High-Energy LHC (HE-LHC) sensitivity to doubly charged scalars assuming they decay promptly and exclusively into charged leptons. Our study focuses on the fit to the same-sign dilepton mass spectra and it is based on proton-proton collisions at $13$ TeV, $14$ TeV and $27$ TeV with integrated luminosity of $\mathcal{L}=139 fb^{-1}, 3 $ab$^{-1}$ and $15$ab$^{-1}$. We find that HL-LHC may probe doubly charge…
We study the search potential of heavy triplet leptons in Type III Seesaw mechanism at future high-energy and high-luminosity muon colliders. The impact of up-to-date neutrino oscillation results is taken into account on neutrino parameters and the consequent decay patterns of heavy leptons in Type III Seesaw. The three heavy leptons in the Casas-Ibarra parametrization with diagonal unity matrix are distinguishable in their decay modes. We consider the pair production of charged triplet leptons $E^+ E^-$ through both $μ^+μ^-$ annihilation and vector boson fusion (VBF) processes. The leading-or…
The only possible doubly-charged scalar decays into two Standard Model particles are into pairs of same-sign charged leptons, H$^{\pm\pm}\rightarrow {l}^\pm {l}^\pm, {l} = e, μ, τ$, or gauge bosons, H$^{\pm\pm}\rightarrow W^\pm W^\pm$; being necessary the observation of both to assert the violation of lepton number. However, present ATLAS and CMS limits on doubly-charged scalar production are obtained under specific assumptions on its branching fractions into dileptons only. Although they can be extended to include decays into dibosons and lepton number violating processes. Moreover, the produ…
The doubly charged Higgs bosons $Δ^{--}$ that are present in exotic Higgs representations can have lepton-number-violating couplings to $e^-e^-$. We discuss general constraints and phenomenology for the $Δ^{--}$ and demonstrate that extremely small values for the $e^-e^-\rightarrowΔ^{--}$ coupling (some 8 orders of magnitude smaller than the current limit) would produce observable signals for $Δ^{--}$ production in direct $s$-channel production at an $e^-e^-$ collider.
The present work introduces new scalar and fermionic degrees of freedom to the Standard Model. While the scalar sector is augmented by a complex scalar triplet and a doubly charged scalar singlet, the fermionic sector is extended by two copies of vector-like leptons. Of these, one copy is an $SU(2)_L$ singlet while the other, an $SU(2)_L$ doublet. We explain how this combination can offer a solution to the muon g-2 anomaly and also lead to non-zero neutrino masses. In addition, it is also shown that the parameter regions compliant with the two aforementioned issues can stabilise the electrowea…
Lepton flavor violating processes such as μ\to 3e and μ\to e γare investigated with supersymmetric Higgs triplet pair Δand \bar Δin the light of neutrino masses and experimentally verifiable leptogenesis. The Higgs triplet mass M_Δis expected to be in the range of 1 - 100 TeV. The branching ratios of these charged lepton decays are evaluated in terms of M_Δand the coupling f L ΔL of Higgs triplet Δwith lepton doublet pairs L L, which is proportional to the neutrino mass matrix. They may be reached in the future collider experiments. In particular, the μ\to 3e decay would be observed indicating…
A heavy triplet of leptons $(Σ^+, Σ^0, Σ^-)_R$ per family is proposed as the possible anchor of a small seesaw neutrino mass. A new U(1) gauge symmetry is then also possible, and the associated gauge boson $X$ may be discovered at or below the TeV scale. We discuss the phenomenology of this proposal, with and without possible constraints from the NuTeV and atomic parity violation experiments, which appear to show small discrepancies from the predictions of the standard model.
The triplet Higgs model, which is an extension of the standard model with a weak-scale triplet Higgs boson, is capable of generating small neutrino masses naturally. We investigate lepton flavor violation mediated by the triplet Higgs boson. We stress that various neutrino mass patterns could be distinguished by measuring the lepton flavor violating processes. μ\to eee decay is significantly enhanced in the case of the degenerate masses or the inverted-hierarchical masses compared with that in the case of the hierarchical masses. On the other hand, the μ\to e γrate and the μ- e conversion rati…
We review the SM extensions with scalar multiplets including doubly-charged components eventually observable as di-leptonic resonances at the LHC. Special emphasis is payed to the limits on LNV implied by doubly-charged scalar searches at the LHC, and to the characterization of the multiplet doubly-charged scalars belong to if they are observed to decay into same-sign charged lepton pairs.
By studying the decays D_{s0}^+(2317) --> D_s^+ pi^0 and D_s^{*+} gamma, It is shown that its assignment to the I_3=0 component of iso-triplet scalar four-quark mesons is favored. Productions of its neutral and doubly charged partners are also studied. As the result, it is concluded that they could be observed in B decays. Their iso-singlet partner might have been observed in the radiative channels of B decays by the BELLE Collaboration.
It is well known that a Weinberg dimension-5 operator for small neutrino masses can be realized at tree level in three types of renormalizable models: (i) the type-I seesaw mediated by fermion singlets, (ii) the type-II seesaw mediated by Higgs triplets, (iii) the type-III seesaw mediated by fermion triplets. We here point out such operator can be also induced at tree level by vector-like lepton doublets in association with unusual fermion singlets, Higgs triplets or fermion triplets. If these unusual fermion singlets, Higgs triplets or fermion triplets are heavy enough, their decays can gener…
We study lepton flavor models with the $S_4$ flavor symmetry. We construct simple models with smaller numbers of flavon fields and free parameters, such that we have predictions among lepton masses and mixing angles. The model with a $S_4$ triplet flavon is not realistic, but we can construct realistic models with two triplet flavons, or one triplet and one doublet flavons.
In a seesaw mass matrix model M_f = m_L M_F^{-1} m_R^\dagger with a universal structure of m_L \propto m_R, as the origin of m_L (m_R) for quarks and eptons, flavor-triplet Higgs scalars whose vacuum expectation values v_i are proportional to the square roots of the charged lepton masses m_{ei}, i.e. v_i \propto \sqrt{m_{ei}}, are assumed. Then, it is investigated whether such a model can explain the observed neutrino masses and mixings (and also quark masses and mixings) or not.
The most general phenomenological model involving a lepton triplet with hypercharge $\pm 1$ is constructed. A distinctive feature of this model is the prediction of a doubly charged lepton, and a new heavy Dirac neutrino. We study the phenomenology of these exotic leptons in both low-energy experiments and at the LHC. The model predicts FCNC processes such as rare muon decays, which are studied in detail in order to constrain the model parameters. All the decay channels of the exotic leptons are described for a wide range of parameters. It is found that, if the mixing parameters between the ex…
We study the pair production of doubly charged Higgs bosons at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), assuming the doubly charged Higgs to be part of an SU(2)_L triplet which generates Majorana masses for left-handed neutrinos. Such pair-production has the advantage that it is not constrained by the triplet vacuum expectation value, which tends to make the single production rate rather small. We point out that, in addition to the Drell-Yan (DY) production mechanism, two-photon processes also contribute to H++H++ production at a level comparable to the QCD corrections to the DY channel. Decays of the…
We show that models with exotic leptons transforming as E ~ (1,3,-1) under the standard model gauge symmetry are well suited for generating neutrino mass via a radiative inverse seesaw. This approach realizes natural neutrino masses and allows multiple new states to appear at the TeV scale. The exotic leptons are therefore good candidates for new physics that can be probed at the LHC. Furthermore, remnant low-energy symmetries ensure a stable dark matter candidate, providing a link between dark matter and the origins of neutrino mass.
We investigate lepton flavor violation (LFV) in the the singlet-triplet scotogenic model in which neutrinos acquire non-zero masses at the 1-loop level. In contrast to the most popular variant of this setup, the singlet scotogenic model, this version includes a triplet fermion as well as a triplet scalar, leading to a scenario with a richer dark matter phenomenology. Taking into account results from neutrino oscillation experiments, we explore some aspects of the LFV phenomenology of the model. In particular, we study the relative weight of the dipole operators with respect to other contributi…
We discuss a 331 model with three scalar triplets and neutral fermion singlets. We show that in the 331 model with right-handed neutrinos, it is possible to obtain small active neutrino masses via the double and inverse seesaw mechanisms, without the use of scalar sextets or triplets with doubly-charged Higgs. Two types of models are discussed. If we have a large Majorana mass matrix for the singlets, the spectrum of neutrinos presents light, heavy and very heavy masses. The other possibility is a small (zero) Majorana mass matrix, which leads to pseudo-Dirac (Dirac) heavy neutrinos in the TeV…
We discuss the parity-violating left-right asymmetries (LRAs) in Möller scattering at the International Linear Collider (ILC) induced by doubly charged Higgs bosons in models with $SU(2)_L$ triplet and singlet scalar bosons, which couple to the left- and right-handed charged leptons, respectively. These bosons are important in the scenarios for the generation of the neutrino mass. We demonstrate that the contributions to the LRAs from the triplet and singlet bosons are opposite to each other. In particular, we show that the doubly charged Higgs boson from the singlet scalar can be tested at th…
The inclusive production of doubly heavy baryons $Ξ_{cc}$ and $Ξ_{bb}$ at $γγ$ collider is investigated. It is found that the contribution from the heavy quark pair $QQ$ in color triplet and color sextet are important.
In the framework of models with Higgs triplets, doubly and singly charged triplet Higgs boson production in the processes $e^-e^-\toδ^{--}_{L,R}Z^0$ and $e^-e^-\toδ^{-}_{L}W^-_L$ are considered.
We consider the production at the LHC of exotic composite leptons of charge Q=+2e. Such states are allowed in composite models which contain extended isospin multiplets (Iw=1 and Iw=3/2). These doubly charged leptons couple with Standard Model [SM] fermions via gauge interactions, thereby delineating and restricting their possible decay channels. We discuss the production cross section at the LHC of L++ (p p --> L++, l-) and concentrate on the leptonic signature deriving from the cascade decays L++ --> W+, l+ --> l+, l+, ν_l i.e. p p --> l-, l+, l+, ν_l showing that the invariant mass distribu…
Many Standard Model extensions predict doubly-charged scalars; in particular, all models with resonances in charged lepton-pair channels with non-vanishing lepton number; if these are pair produced at the LHC, the observation of their decay into $l^\pm l^\pm W^\mp W^\mp$ will be necessary in order to establish their lepton-number violating character, which is generally not straightforward. Nonetheless, the analysis of events containing four charged leptons (including scalar decays into one or two taus as well as into W bosons) makes it possible to determine whether the doubly-charged excitatio…
We studied the production and signatures of doubly charged Higgs bosons in the process $γe^- \rightarrow H^{--}E^+$, where $E^+$ is a heavy lepton, at the $e^-e^+$ International Linear Collider (ILC) and CERN Linear Collider (CLIC). The intermediate photons are given by the Weizs$\ddot{a}$cker-Williams and laser backscattering distributions. We found that significant signatures are obtained by bremsstrahlung and backward Comptom scattering of laser. A clear signal can be obtained for doubly charged Higgs bosons, doubly charged gauge bosons and heavy leptons.
Using an extended chromomagnetic model, we perform a systematic study of the masses of the doubly heavy tetraquarks. We find that the ground states of the doubly heavy tetraquarks are dominated by color-triplet $\ket{(qq)^{\bar{3}_{c}}(\bar{Q}\bar{Q})^{3_{c}}}$ configuration, which is opposite to that of the fully heavy tetraquarks. The combined results suggest that the color-triplet configuration becomes more important when the mass difference between the quarks and antiquarks increases. We find three stable states which lie below the thresholds of two pseudoscalar mesons. They are the $IJ^{P…
We consider the effect of complex Higgs triplets on purely leptonic processes and survey the experimental constraints on the mass and couplings of their single and double charge members. Present day experiments tolerate values of the Yukawa couplings of these scalars at the level of the standard electroweak gauge couplings. We show that the proposed measurement of the ratio $R_{LCD}=σ(ν_μe)/ [σ(\bbν_μe) + σ(ν_e e )]$ would allow to explore a large region of the parameter space inaccessible to the usual ratio $R=σ(ν_μe)/σ(\bbν_μe)$.
The lepton flavour violating (LFV) $τ$ decays $τ\to (e,μ)γ$ and $τ\to 3μ$ are investigated in the frameworks of the TeV scale type I see-saw and Higgs Triplet (or type II see-saw) models. Predictions for the rates of these processes are obtained. The implications of the existing stringent experimental upper bounds on the $μ\to e + γ$ and $μ\to 3e$ decay branching ratios for the predictions of the $τ\to (e,μ)γ$ and $τ\to 3μ$ decay rates are studied in detail. The possibilities to observe the indicated LFV $τ$ decays in present and future experiments are analysed.
Singly and doubly charged Higgs bosons in the Higgs Triplet Model mediate the lepton flavour violating (LFV) decays tau to \bar{l}ll and mu to e gamma. The LFV decay rates are proportional to products of two triplet Yukawa couplings (h_{ij}) which can be expressed in terms of the parameters of the neutrino mass matrix and an unknown triplet vacuum expectation value. We determine the parameter space of the neutrino mass matrix in which a signal for tau to \bar{l}ll and/or mu to e gamma is possible at ongoing and planned experiments. The conditions for respecting the stringent upper limit for mu…
