The three-dimensional half-shell t-matrix for a sharply cut-off Coulomb potential is analytically derived together with its asymptotic form without reference to partial wave expansion. The numerical solutions of the three-dimensional Lippmann-Schwinger equation for increasing cut-off radii provide half-shell t-matrices which are in quite a good agreement with the asymptotic values.

Figure 1 exhibits the APEX' published U + Th ``wedge cut'' data, and background, which show a distinct (3.2 sigma) maximum of 83 excess pair counts in the 20 keV bin near 790 keV. A one-gaussian best fit to this excess reduces chi-squared (for the 21 bins from 500 to 920 keV) by 12.6 from 28.3 to 16.7, and the reduced chi-squared value from 1.41 to 0.98. Three Bosons in One Dimension with Short Range Interactions I: Zero Range Potentials

We consider the three-boson problem with $δ$-function interactions in one spatial dimension. Three different approaches are used to calculate the phase shifts, which we interpret in the context of the effective range expansion, for the scattering of one free particle a off of a bound pair. We first follow a procedure outlined by McGuire in order to obtain an analytic expression for the desired S-matrix element. Renormalization of the Three-Body System with Short-Range Interactions

We discuss renormalization of the non-relativistic three-body problem with short-range forces. The problem becomes non-perturbative at momenta of the order of the inverse of the two-body scattering length, and an infinite number of graphs must be summed. This summation leads to a cutoff dependence that does not appear in any order in perturbation theory. We argue that this cutoff dependence can be absorbed in a single three-body counterterm and compute the running of the three-body force with the cutoff. It is suggested in the paper by A.J. Chambers {\it et al.} (Phys. Rev.
