In this paper, we construct an effective model that describes the electroweak symmetry breaking sector by means of composite Higgs-like scalars, following the ideas of Minimal Walking Technicolor (MWT). We argue that, because of the general failure of Extended Technicolor (ETC) to explain the mass of the top quark, it is necessary to introduce two composite Higgs bosons: one of them originated by a MWT-ETC sector and the other one produced by a Topcolor sector. We focus on the phenomenological differences between the light composite Higgs present in our model and the fundamental Higgs boson predicted by the Standard Model and their production at the LHC. We show that in this scheme the main production channel of the lighter Higgs boson are the associated production with a gauge boson and $WW$ fusion but not the gluon-gluon fusion channel which is substantially suppressed.
We derive electroweak Z-string solutions in the Glashow-Weinberg-Salam model with two Higgs doublets. The existence of such solutions in particular requires a specific relation between the ratio of the two Higgs vacuum expectation values, {\it i.e.} $\tanβ$, and the couplings in the Higgs potential.
We use transport equations to compute the evolution of the quark plasma at the electroweak phase transition in the two-doublet Higgs model, obtaining in a more rigorous and quantitatively accurate way results consistent with previous work. We discuss the model in connection with the electroweak baryogenesis scenario, and claim that the observed baryon asymmetry of the universe can be obtained within this model with a suitable choice of parameters.
Contrary to common belief, the requirement that supersymmetry exists and that there are two Higgs doublets and no singlet at the electroweak energy scale does not necessarily result in the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM). Two interesting alternatives are presented.

The electroweak symmetry is nonlinearly realized in an extension of the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) through an additional pair of constrained Higgs doublet superfields. The superpotential couplings of this constrained Higgs doublet pair to the MSSM Higgs doublet pair catalyze their vacuum expectation values. The Higgs and Higgsino-gaugino mass spectrum is presented for several choices of supersymmetry (SUSY) breaking and Higgs superpotential mass parameters. The additional vacuum expectation values provided by the constrained fields can produce a phenomenology quite different …
We investigate the region of restored electroweak symmetry around a superconducting cosmic string coupled to the Weinberg-Salam model with an extra Higgs doublet. We show that the presence of the extra Higgs fields, and in particular their CP violating relative phase, does not qualitatively affect the results of Perkins and Davis[1] obtained for the standard electroweak theory. This result is neccessary to ensure the validity of some recently proposed string-mediated electroweak baryogenesis scenarios.
The manner in which the parameters of a two-Higgs-doublet model can be chosen so that no Higgs boson is discovered at a $\sqrt{s}\leq 800\gev$ $\epem$ collider, while maintaining consistency with current precision electroweak measurements, is described. The importance of a Giga-$Z$ factory and higher collider energies for such a scenario is emphasized.
The existence of supersymmetry above a few TeV and that of two Higgs doublets at the electroweak energy scale do not necessarily result in the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM). An interesting counter example is given with m_h < 2^{1/2} m_W + radiative corrections = 145 GeV instead of m_h < m_Z + radiative corrections = 128 GeV in the MSSM.
We calculate both the cubic and the quartic self-couplings of the lighter scalar Higgs boson without assuming the decoupling limit in the two-Higgs-doublet model (THDM). In some regions of parameter space of the THDM where the electroweak phase transition is strongly first order, it is possible that the quartic self-coupling of the lighter scalar Higgs boson might be deviated by at least 40 % from the standard model prediction.
The minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) is extended by including an additional pair of constrained Higgs doublet superfields through which the electroweak symmetry is nonlinearly realized. The superpotential couplings of this constrained Higgs doublet pair to the MSSM Higgs doublet pair catalyze the later nontrivial vacuum expectation values. The mass spectrum of the Higgs scalars and Higgsino-gaugino sector is presented for several choices of supersymmetry (SUSY) breaking and Higgs superpotential mass parameters. The effect of the the additional constrained fields and multiple vacuum…
In this talk, we report unitarity constraints and phenomenological studies at the Large Hadron Collider for the extra Higgs bosons of a Composite 2-Higgs Doublet Model.
The electroweak radiative correction, which turned out to be marginal within the standard electroweak model having the minimal Higgs sector in view of the present experimental information, fits well the experiment when the Higgs sector is extended to have two Higgs doublets. We predict the range where the charged and CP odd Higgs boson masses would lie, taking the two CP even neutral Higgs boson masses to be degenerate which makes the analysis in multiparameter space feasible. It is shown that the mass of neutral Higgs doublet boson can arbitrarily be large consistently with the $W$ mass, if t…
We study the stability of neutral electroweak vacua in two Higgs doublet models, and calculate the lifetime of these states when the parameters are such that they are false vacua. As the two Higgs doublet model is invariant under a sign change of both doublets, degenerate true vacua exist. It is shown that this degeneracy, despite the fact that each of these minima locally describes the same physics, can immensely affect their lifetime. We apply these calculations to the parameter space of the models which is allowed by recent LHC searches, and infer combinations of parameters which should be …
We use the left-right symmetry model based on SU(2)_{L}xSU(2)_{R}xU(1)_{B-L} gauge group with two bidoublets and one doublet Higgs field for electroweak interaction. The lepton fields are represented as a doublet of SU(2)for both left and right fields. By using the pattern of symmetry breaking emerges as the minimum of the Higgs potential for a range of parameters, we show that the domination of the V-A over V+A interactions is natural at low energy. The symmetry breaking is the responsible mechanism for the up-down lepton doublet mass difference
Vortex solutions in the two Higgs doublet electroweak model are constructed, and their stability to small perturbations is studied. The most general perturbation is decomposed into angular momentum modes, the least stable mode is identified, and the linearised energy change of the vortex under this perturbation is calculated numerically for various choices of parameters, thus determining whether or not the string is stable. It is found that, for realistic values of the Higgs mass and Weinberg angle, the string is unstable.
The existence of a second Higgs doublet in Nature could lead to a cosmological first order electroweak phase transition and explain the origin of the matter-antimatter asymmetry in the Universe. We explore the parameter space of such a two-Higgs-doublet-model and show that a first order electroweak phase transition strongly correlates with a significant uplifting of the Higgs vacuum w.r.t. its Standard Model value. We then obtain the spectrum and properties of the new scalars $H_0$, $A_0$ and $H^{\pm}$ that signal such a phase transition, showing that the decay $A_0 \rightarrow H_0 Z$ at the L…
We study some implications of the presence of two inert scalar doublets which are charged under a dark Abelian gauge symmetry. Specifically, we investigate the effects of the new scalars on oblique electroweak parameters and on the interactions of the 125 GeV Higgs boson, especially its decay modes $h\toγγ,γZ$, and trilinear coupling, all of which will be probed with improved precision in future Higgs measurements. Moreover, we explore how the inert scalars may give rise to strongly first-order electroweak phase transition and also show its correlation with sizable modifications to the Higgs t…
We extend the so-called singlet doublet dark matter model, where the dark matter is an admixture of a Standard Model singlet and a pair of electroweak doublet fermions, by a singlet scalar field. The new portal coupling of it with the dark sector not only contributes to the dark matter phenomenology (involving relic density and direct detection limits), but also becomes important for generation of dark matter mass through its vacuum expectation value. While the presence of dark sector fermions affects the stability of the electroweak vacuum adversely, we find this additional singlet is capable…
We consider a possibility that electroweak symmetry breaking (EWSB) is triggered by a fundamental Higgs and a composite Higgs arising in a dynamical symmetry breaking mechanism induced by a new strong dynamics. The resulting Higgs sector is a partially composite two-Higgs doublet model with specific boundary conditions on the coupling and mass parameters originating at a compositeness scale. The phenomenology of this model is discussed including the collider phenomenology at LHC and ILC.
Electroweak baryogenesis fails in the SM because of too small CP violation and the lack of a strong first-order phase transition. It has been shown that supersymmetric models allow for successful baryogenesis, where the Higgsinos play an important role in the transport processes that generate the asymmetry. I will demonstrate that also non-supersymmetric models can provide the observed baryon asymmetry. The top quark takes the role of the Higgsinos. Focusing on the two-Higgs doublet model, I will discuss details of the phase transition and consequences for Higgs physics and EDM searches.
We study the predictions of the left-right model of electroweak interaction based on $SU(2)_{L}\otimes SU(2)_{R}\otimes U(1)$ gauge group by using one bidoublet and one doublet Higgs fields. We can reproduce the low energy phenomenology of electroweak interaction by choosing the appropriate values of vacuum expectation values of Higgs fields. Leptons can obtain a mass via two scenarios, first via Higgs mechanism with non-zero 'hypercharge-like' $I$ in Lagrangian density mass termms and put the Yukawa couplings $G_{l}>>G_{l}^{*}$, and the second via Higgs mechanism followed by a seesaw mechanis…
The effective potential of electroweak theory with two massless Higgs doublets at finite temperature is studied. We investigate phase structure and critical temperature in this model by numerical analysis without high-temperature expansion. The phase transition is found to be of first order. The critical temperature is shown to be relatively low for typical scalar masses. The free energy of the critical bubble is calculated with some approximations and we find that the bubble nucleation can occur at a temperature a little below the critical temperature. We also discuss the possibility of the e…
A two-component scalar DM scenario comprising an additional scalar doublet and a $Y$ = 0 scalar triplet is proposed. Key features of the ensuing dark matter phenomenology are highlighted with emphasis on inter-conversion between the two dark matter components. For suitable choices of the model parameters, we show that such inter-conversion can explain the observed relic abundance when the doublet dark matter component has mass in the \emph{desert} region while the triplet component has sub-TeV mass. This finding is important in the context of such mass regions known to predict under-abundant r…
The oblique parameters $S$ and $T$ are studied in electroweak theory with two massless Higgs doublets. The effect of quadratic dependence on the charged Higgs mass in the parameter $T$ could be cancelled. %when mass differences between the charged and neutral scalars %become large. The constraint on the charged Higgs mass from the parameter $T$ is not so stringent as it was expected. The parameter $S$ can be both positive and negative but it can't take large negative value. We search allowed scalar mass regions for both $S$ and $T$ in the case of two different reference points.
Baryogenesis at the electroweak scale depends on divers but identifiable details of bubble wall dynamics and the particle physics. We show that inclusion of the dynamics of relative phase in two-Higgs-doublet model (2HDM) enhances the adiabatic order of the mechanism proposed by McLerran-Shaposhnikov-Turok-Voloshin where the scalar-scalar-vector triangle diagram with top quark in the loop gives rise to a significant contribution to the effective chemical potential biasing the Chern-Simons number. We also show that in 2HDM with less stringent constraints on Yukawa couplings than those imposed b…
The leptonic branching fractions of the tau lepton are sensitive to anomalous charged current interactions. We use recent experimental measurements to determine the weak charged current magnetic and electric dipole moments and the Michel parameter $η$ with unprecedented precision. These results are then used to constrain the tau compositeness scale and the allowed parameter space for Higgs doublet models.
It is well-known that type II two Higgs doublet models (2HDMs) can struggle to facilitate a strong first-order electroweak phase transition in the early universe whilst remaining theoretically appealing scenarios for many reasons. We analyse this apparent shortfall from the perspective of additional new physics. Starting from a consistent dimension-6 effective field theory Higgs potential extension, we identify the Higgs potential extensions that provide the necessary additional contributions required to achieve a strong first-order electroweak phase transition and trace their phenomenological…
We consider a realistic example of supersymmetric grand unification based on $SU(3)_c \times SU(3)_L \times SU(3)_R$ in which the electroweak (EW) higgs doublets are `light' as a consequence of the `pseudogoldstone' mechanism. We discuss radiative EW breaking in this model, exploring in particular the `small' (order unity) and `large' $(\approx m_t/m_b)$ $\tan β$ regions by studying the variations of $r (\equiv \sqrt{μ^2_{1,2}/μ^2_3})$, where $μ^2_{1,2,3}$ are the well known MSSM parameters evaluated at the GUT scale. For $r$ sufficiently close to unity the quantity $\tan β$ can be of order un…
We study the electroweak phase transition in the framework of scalar singlet-doublet mixed dark matter model, where the particle dark matter candidate is the lightest neutral Higgs that comprised of the CP-even component of inert doublet and a singlet scalar. The dark matter can be dominated by the inert doublet or singlet scalar depending on the mixing. We present several benchmark models to investigate the two situations after imposing several theoretical and experimental constraints. An additional singlet scalar and the inert doublet drive the electroweak phase transition to be strongly fir…
In the extra dimensional scenarios with gauge fields in the bulk, the Kaluza-Klein (KK) gauge bosons can induce Nambu-Jona-Lasinio (NJL) type attractive four-fermion interactions, which can break electroweak symmetry dynamically with accompanying composite Higgs fields. We consider a possibility that electroweak symmetry breaking (EWSB) is triggered by both a fundamental Higgs and a composite Higgs arising in a dynamical symmetry breaking mechanism induced by a new strong dynamics. The resulting Higgs sector is a partially composite two-Higgs doublet model with specific boundary conditions on …
We study the strength of a first-order electroweak phase transition in the Inert Doublet Model (IDM), where particle dark matter (DM) is comprised of the lightest neutral inert Higgs boson. We improve over previous studies in the description and treatment of the finite-temperature effective potential and of the electroweak phase transition. We focus on a set of benchmark models inspired by the key mechanisms in the IDM leading to a viable dark matter particle candidate, and illustrate how to enhance the strength of the electroweak phase transition by adjusting the masses of the yet undiscovere…

The conventional baryogenesis mechanism is based on the one Higgs doublet within the standard model, at the electroweak scale $T\sim 100 GeV$. In this model the strong first order phase transition due to the spontaneous symmetry breaking imposes the folowing condition on the mass of the Higgs field: $m_H\lesssim 40 GeV$, which is contrary to the recently observed value $m_H\simeq 126 GeV$. In this paper we propose a baryogenesis mechanism within a two-Higgs-doublet model in which the phase transition occurs in one stage. This model is consistent with the observed mass of the Higgs. We obtain t…
Recently we presented the upgrade of our code BSMPT for the calculation of the electroweak phase transition (EWPT) to BSMPT v2 which now includes the computation of the baryon asymmetry of the universe (BAU) in the CP-violating 2-Higgs-Doublet Model (C2HDM). In this paper we use {\tt BSMPT v2} to investigate the size of the BAU that is obtained in the C2HDM with the two implemented approaches FH and VIA to derive the transport equations, by taking into account all relevant theoretical and experimental constraints. We identify similarities and differences in the results computed with the two me…
With two Higgs doublets but without any discrete $Z_2$ symmetry to forbid flavor changing neutral Higgs couplings, new top Yukawa couplings $ρ_{tt}$ and $ρ_{tc}$ are allowed and naturally complex. Electroweak baryogenesis is remarkably efficient if both $ρ_{tt}$ (and $ρ_{tc}$) and exotic Higgs quartic couplings are ${\cal O}(1)$. Furthermore, the alignment phenomenon, that the observed 125 GeV boson so closely resembles the Standard Model Higgs boson, emerges naturally. One not only has many new flavor and CPV phenomena (modulo SM-like flavor organization plus alignment), but the exotic Higgs …
Electroweak theory with two massless Higgs doublets is studied by solving renormalization group equations for coupling constants in one-loop approximation. A cutoff~$Λ$, at which one of quartic couplings in the Higgs potential blows up, is obtained by imposing constraints from the oblique parameter $T$ on the quartic couplings at low energy. We find $Λ\simeq 0.52\sim 8.4$~TeV at the Higgs mass $M_H=100$ GeV. The cutoff $Λ$ is at most about $60$ TeV even if we take into account the LEP lower bound of $M_H\simeq 64$ GeV. It cannot reach the Planck or GUT scale due to severe experimental constrai…
We reexamine the strength of the first order phase transition in the electroweak theory supplemented by an extra Higgs doublet. The finite-temperature effective potential, $V_{eff}$, is computed to one-loop order, including the summation of ring diagrams, to study the ratio $ϕ_c/T_c$ of the Higgs field VEV to the critical temperature. We make a number of improvements over previous treatments, including a consistent treatment of Goldstone bosons in $V_{eff}$, an accurate analytic approximation to $V_{eff}$ valid for any mass-to-temperature ratios, and use of the experimentally measured top quar…
We consider a Composite Higgs Model (CHM) with two isospin doublet Higgs fields arising as pseudo Nambu-Goldstone bosons from a ${\rm SO}(6)\to {\rm SO}(4)\times {\rm SO}(2)$ breaking. The main focus of this work is to explicitly compute the properties of these Higgses in terms of the fundamental parameters of the composite sector such as masses, Yukawa and gauge couplings of the new spin-1 and spin-1/2 resonances. Concretely, we calculate the Higgs potential at one-loop level through the Coleman-Weinberg mechanism from the explicit breaking of the ${\rm SO(6)}$ global symmetry by the partial …
We quantitatively study the charge transport mechanism of electroweak baryogenesis in a realistic two-Higgs-doublet model, comparing the contributions from quarks and leptons reflecting from electroweak domain walls, and comparing the exact profile of the CP-violating phase with a commonly used ansatz. We note that the phenomenon of spontaneous CP violation at high temperature can occur in this model, even when there is no CP violation at zero temperature. We include all known effects which are likely to influence the baryon production rate, including strong sphalerons, the nontrivial dispersi…
In the context of Composite Higgs Models we consider the realisation of an extended Higgs sector with two Higgs doublets arising as pseudo Nambu-Goldstone bosons from a $\textrm{SO}(6) \to \textrm{SO}(4) \times \textrm{SO}(2)$ breaking. The properties of the Higgses are obtained in terms of the fundamental parameters of the composite sector, such as masses, Yukawa and gauge couplings of the new spin-1/2 and spin-1 resonances. After computing the Higgs potential from the explicit breaking of the $\textrm{SO}(6)$ global symmetry by the partial compositeness of fermions and gauge bosons, the main…
We present the next-to-leading-order calculation of the partial decay widths of light CP-even Higgs bosons decaying into four fermions in the Two-Higgs-Doublet Model and a Singlet Extension of the Standard Model. Different renormalization schemes are applied in the calculation, which is implemented into the analysis tool PROPHECY4F. Some sample results on the Higgs->4fermions decay widths illustrate how the corrections reduce the dependence on the renormalization scale and the choice of the scheme.
We study a new confining gauge theory with fermions in a vectorial representation under the SM gauge group that allows for Yukawa interactions with the Higgs. If the fermion masses are smaller than the confinement scale this realizes a type I two Higgs doublet model where a composite Higgs mixes with the elementary Higgs. This class of models interpolates between an elementary and a composite Higgs and has interesting phenomenology with potentially observables effects in collider physics, EDMs and SM couplings but very weak bounds from indirect searches. The very same framework can be used to …
In the framework of type-II two-Higgs-doublet model with a singlet scalar dark matter $S$, we study the dark matter observables, the electroweak phase transition, and the gravitational wave signals by such strongly first order phase transition after imposing the constraints of the LHC Higgs data. We take the heavy CP-even Higgs $H$ as the only portal between the dark matter and SM sectors, and find the LHC Higgs data and dark matter observables require $m_S$ and $m_H$ to be larger than 130 GeV and 360 GeV for $m_A=600$ GeV in the case of the 125 GeV Higgs with the SM-like coupling. Next, we ca…
In this work, dual electroweak phase transition (EWPT) consisting of two phases, is carefully studied in the two-Higgs-doublet model with the $S_3$ discrete symmetry. The role of $S_3$ here is to further separate the stages of the electroweak phase transition, compared to that of the original two-Higgs-doublet model (2HDM). The strength of the electroweak phase transition $(S)$ in the model under consideration is large enough for the first-order EWPT, specifically $1 < S < 2.8$. The ratio between the two vacuum expectation values (VEVs), $\tanβ= v_2/v_1$, is proven to have no effects on the st…
We perform a nonperturbative study of the electroweak phase transition (EWPT) in the two Higgs doublet model (2HDM) by deriving a dimensionally reduced high-temperature effective theory for the model, and matching to known results for the phase diagram of the effective theory. We find regions of the parameter space where the theory exhibits a first-order phase transition. In particular, our findings are consistent with previous perturbative results suggesting that the primary signature of a first-order EWPT in the 2HDM is $m_{A_0} > m_{H_0} + m_Z$.
Models of asymmetric dark matter (ADM) seek to explain the apparent coincidence between the present-day mass densities of visible and dark matter, $Ω_{\mathrm{DM}} \simeq 5Ω_{\mathrm{VM}}$. However, most ADM models only relate the number densities of visible and dark matter without motivating the similar particle masses. We expand upon a recent work that obtained a natural mass relationship in a mirror matter ADM model with two Higgs doublets in each sector, by looking to implement dark electroweak baryogenesis as the means of asymmetry generation. We explore two aspects of the mechanism: the …
Based on previous studies deriving the chiral Lagrangian for pseudo scalar mesons from the first principle of QCD, we derive the electroweak chiral Lagrangian and build up a formulation for computing its coefficients from one-doublet technicolor model and a schematic topcolor-assisted technicolor model. We find that the coefficients of the electroweak chiral Lagrangian for the topcolor-assisted technicolor model are divided into three parts: direct TC2 interaction part, TC1 and TC2 induced effective Z' particle contribution part, and ordinary quarks contribution part. The first two parts are c…
The existence of a second Higgs doublet in Nature could lead to a cosmological first order electroweak phase transition and explain the origin of the matter-antimatter asymmetry in the Universe. We obtain the spectrum and properties of the new scalars $H_0$, $A_0$ and $H^{\pm}$ that signal such a phase transition, and show that the observation of the decay $A_0 \rightarrow H_0 Z$ at LHC would be a `smoking gun' signature of these scenarios. We analyze the LHC search prospects for this decay in the $\ell \ell b\bar{b}$ and $\ell \ell W^{+} W^{-}$ final states, arguing that current data may be s…
A strongly first-order electroweak phase transition is a necessary requirement for Electroweak Baryogenesis. We investigate the plausibility of obtaining a strong phase transition in a Two-Higgs-Doublet Model of type II with a minimal amount of $CP$ violation. By performing a Bayesian fit where we constrain the scalar sector with indirect and direct measurements, we find that current data disfavours a first-order phase transition in this model. This result is mainly driven by the interplay of three effects: Constraints from the LHC Higgs data on the magnitude of the quartic couplings, the requ…
We match the electroweak chiral Lagrangian with two singlet scalars to the next-to-minimal composite Higgs model with $ SO(6)/SO(5) $ coset structure and extract the scalar divergences to one loop. Assuming the additional scalar to be heavy, we integrate it out and perform a matching to the well-established electroweak chiral Lagrangian with one light Higgs.
We discuss whether a multi-step electroweak phase transition (EWPT) occurs in two Higgs doublet models (2HDMs). The EWPT is related to interesting phenomena such as baryogenesis and a gravitational wave from it. We examine parameter regions in CP-conserving 2HDMs and find certain areas where the multi-step EWPTs occur. The parameter search shows the multi-step EWPT prefers the scalar potential with the approximate $Z_2$ symmetry and a mass hierarchy between the neutral CP-odd and CP-even extra scalar bosons $m_A<m_H$. By contrast, the multi-step EWPT whose first step is strongly first order fa…
We update our analysis of technicolour theories with techniquarks in higher dimensional representations of the technicolour gauge group in the light of the new electroweak precision data on the Z resonance.
We compute the right top quark coupling in the aligned two-Higgs-doublet model. In the Standard Model the real part of this coupling is dominated by QCD-gluon-exchange diagram, but the imaginary part, instead, is purely electroweak at one loop. Within this model we show that values for the imaginary part of the coupling up to one order of magnitude larger than the electroweak prediction can be obtained. For the real part of the electroweak contribution we find that it can be up to three orders of magnitude larger than the standard model one. We also present detailed results of the one loop ana…
We study CP-Violation (CPV) in a Composite 2-Higgs Doublet Model (C2HDM) based on the global symmetry breaking $SO(6)/[SO(4)\times SO(2)]$, wherein the strong sector is modeled by a two-site moose structure. Non-trivial complex phases in the interactions involving fermions in both the elementary and strong sectors can induce CPV in the Higgs potential as well as the Yukawa coupling parameters. We compute both of the latter and analyse their dependence upon the aforementioned complex phases. Finally, we discuss physics observables which are distinctive of this model. Even in the simplest case w…
We revisit the possibility of first order electroweak phase transition~(EWPT) in one of the simplest extensions of the Standard Model (SM) scalar sector, namely the two-Higgs-doublet model~(2HDM). We take into account the ensuing constraints from the electroweak precision tests, Higgs signal strengths, and the recent LHC bounds from direct scalar searches. By studying the vacuum transition in 2HDM, we discuss in detail the entropy released in the first order EWPT in various parameter planes of 2HDM.
We work out simple tree level relations in a top condensate model with dynamical electroweak symmetry breaking. We find that in this picture the mass of the composite Higgs boson at tree level is given by $m_H^2=\frac{m_t^2}{2}$ where $m_t$ is the mass of the top quark.
We study stochastic gravitational wave production and baryon number generation at electroweak phase transition with the two Higgs doublet models. The produced stochastic gravitational wave during the strongly first-order phase transition can be probed by future space-based interferometers. The {\it nonlocal} electroweak baryogengesis cannot address the observed Baryon asymmetry of the Universe successfully in the strongly first-order phase transition parameter spaces due to the CP violation phase is severely bounded by the electron electric dipole moment measurement ACMEII.
The mechanism behind Electroweak Symmetry Breaking (EWSB) and the nature of dark matter (DM) are currently among the most important issues in high energy physics. Since a natural dark matter candidate is a weakly interacting massive particle or WIMP, with mass around the electroweak scale, it is clearly of interest to investigate the possibility that DM and EWSB are closely related. In the context of a very simple extension of the Standard Model, the Inert Doublet Model, we show that dark matter could play a crucial role in the breaking of the electroweak symmetry. In this model, dark matter i…
We study the effective potential and the Renormalization Group(RG) improvement to the effective potential of Higgs boson in a singlet-doublet fermion dark matter extension of the Standard Model(SM), and in general singlet-doublet fermion extension models with several copies of doublet fermions or singlet fermions. We study the stability of the electroweak vacuum with the RG improved effective potential in these models beyond the SM. We study the decay of the electroweak vacuum using the RG improved effective potential in these models beyond the SM. In this study we consider the quantum correct…
