Curves in Lagrange Grassmannians appear naturally in the intrinsic study of geometric structures on manifolds. By a smooth geometric structure on a manifold we mean any submanifold of its tangent bundle, transversal to the fibers. Beyond perturbation 2: asymptotics and Beilinson-Drinfeld Grassmannians in differential geometry

We prove that for any k greater or equal to 2, given a smooth compact k-dimensional manifold and a multiplicative k-1-gerbe on a Lie group, together with an integrable connection, there is a line bundle on the corresponding Beilinson-Drinfeld Grassmannian having the factorization property. We show that taking global sections of this line bundle we obtain a factorization algebra.

Differential K-theory as equivalence classes of maps to Grassmannians and unitary groups

We construct a model of differential K-theory, using the geometrically defined Chern forms, whose cocycles are certain equivalence classes of maps into the Grassmannians and unitary groups. In particular, we produce the circle-integration maps for these models using classical homotopy-theoretic constructions, by incorporating certain differential forms which reconcile the incompatibility between these even and odd Chern forms. Topology and geometry of the canonical action of $T^4$ on the complex Grassmannian $G_{4,2}$ and the complex projective space $CP^{5}$

We consider the canonical action of the compact torus $T^4$ on the Grassmann manifold $G_{4,2}$ and prove that the orbit space $G_{4,2}/T^4$ is homeomorphic to the sphere $S^5$. We prove that the induced differentiable structure on $S^5$ is not the smooth one and describe the smooth and the singular points. We also consider the action of $T^4$ on $CP^5$ induced by the composition of the second symmetric power $T^4\subset T^6$ and the standard action of $T^6$ on $CP^5$ and prove that the orbit space $CP^5/T^4$ is homeomorphic to the join $CP^2\ast S^2$.
