Measurement of Higgs branching ratio is necessary to investigate Higgs coupling to particle masses. Especially, it is the most important program to measure the branching ratio of H->bb and H->cc at the international linear collider (ILC). We have studied the measurement accuracy of Higgs branching ratio at ILC with Sqrt(s) = 250 GeV by using ZH->vvH events. We obtained the Higgs branching ratio with 1.1% and 13.7% accuracy for H->bb and H->cc, respectively.
Precise measurement of the Higgs boson properties are important issues for the International Linear Collider (ILC) project to understand the particles mass generation mechanism which strongly related to the coupling with the Higgs boson. Large Hadron Collider (LHC) experiments exclude the large area of the predicted Higgs mass region and their results indicate that Higgs boson mass will be light. Even if LHC discovers the Higgs like particle by the end of 2012, Higgs will be identified by the high precision measurement of the Higgs boson properties in ILC and also Higgs measurement verifies th…
We evaluate the measurement precision of the production cross section times the branching ratio of the Higgs boson decaying into tau lepton pairs at the International Linear Collider (ILC). We analyze various final states associated with the main production mechanisms of the Higgs boson, the Higgs-strahlung and WW-fusion processes. The statistical precision of the production cross section times the branching ratio is estimated to be 2.6% and 6.9% for the Higgs-strahlung andWW-fusion processes, respectively, with the nominal integrated luminosities assumed in the ILC Technical Design Report; th…
In this Analysis we investigated the possibility of the measurement of Higgs self-coupling at ILC through the process $e^++e^-\rightarrow ZHH$ using fast simulation data. So far two combinations of decay modes: $Z\rightarrow q \bar q,H\rightarrow b\bar b, H\rightarrow WW^*$ and $Z\rightarrow l \bar l, H\rightarrow b\bar b, H\rightarrow b\bar b$ were studied. Our preliminary results show that it is very challenging to suppress the huge standard model backgrounds effectively.
Precise measurement of the Higgs boson properties is an important issue of the International Linear Collider (ILC) experiment. We studied the accuracy of the Higgs mass reconstruction in the ZH->qqH multi-jet process with the Higgs mass of MH = 120 GeV at sqrt(s) = 250 GeV with the ILD detector model. In this study, we obtained the reconstructed Higgs mass of M_H = 120.79 +- 0.089 GeV and 5.3% measurement accuracy of the cross-section for ZH->qqbb with the integrated luminosity of L=250 fb^{-1} data samples.
We study the prospects of measurement of the branching ratio of $h \to μ^+ μ^-$ at the International Linear Collider (ILC). The study is performed at center-of-mass energies of 250 GeV and 500 GeV, using fully-simulated MC samples with the International Large Detector (ILD) model. For both center-of-mass energies, the two final states $q\overline{q}h$ and $ν\overlineνh$ have been analyzed. For an integrated luminosity of 2000 fb$^{-1}$ at 250 GeV and 4000 fb$^{-1}$ at 500 GeV, corresponding to the H20 running scenario as well as its staged version, the precision on $σ\times \mathrm{BR}(h \to μ…
This talk presents results of the two independent analyses evaluating the measurement accuracy of the branching ratio for the Standard model Higgs boson decay to a W-pair, at the Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) and at the International Linear Collider (ILC). The considered Higgs production channels are the WW-fusion for the highest energy stage of CLIC, $\sqrt{s}$= 3 TeV, and the Higgsstrahlung process for the nominal ILC energy, $\sqrt{s}$=500 GeV. Both studies are performed using the full simulation of the detector. The realistic experimental conditions have been simulated including beam ener…
Precision measurements of SM Higgs recoil mass and cross-section are performed with the Higgs-Strahlung process ee -> Zh, with Z -> mumu and Z -> ee at 230 GeV and 250 GeV center of mass energies, presuming Mh=120GeV, assuming the integrated luminosity is 500 1/fb, based on full simulations of several detector models for the ILC. Results are given and compared in this article, of the two center of mass energies, and of several detector models. According to the studies, the Higgs mass can be determined with a statistical error of 39 MeV and 3.6% statistical error for the cross-section.
We assume that the 125 GeV Higgs discovered at the LHC is the heavy CP-even Higgs of the two-Higgs-doublet models, and examine the parameter space in the Type-I, Type-II, Lepton-specific and Flipped models allowed by the latest Higgs signal data, the relevant experimental and theoretical constraints. Further, we show the projected limits on $\tanβ$, $\sin(β-α)$, $Hf\bar{f}$ and $HVV$ couplings from the future measurements of the 125 GeV Higgs at the LHC and ILC, including the LHC with integrated luminosity of 300 fb$^{-1}$ (LHC-300 fb$^{-1}$) and 3000 fb$^{-1}$ (LHC-3000 fb$^{-1}$) as well as …
We evaluate the expected measurement accuracy of the branching ratio of the Standard Model Higgs boson decaying into tau pairs at the ILC with a full simulation of the ILD detector concept. We assume a Higgs mass of 125 GeV, a branching ratio of BR($h \to τ^+ τ^-$) = 6.32%, a beam polarization of electron (positron) of -0.8(+0.3), and an integrated luminosity of 250 fb$^{-1}$. The Higgs-strahlung process $e^+ e^- \to Zh$ with $Z \to q\overline{q}$ is analyzed. We estimate the measurement accuracy of the branching ratio $Δ(σ\times \mathrm{BR}) / (σ\times \mathrm{BR})$ to be 3.4% with using a mu…
Physics at the ILC is reviewed focusing mostly on Higgs physics. It is emphasized that at the ILC it is possible to measure the $hZZ$ coupling totally model independently, which in turn allows model-independent normalization of various branching ratio measurements and consequently the absolute measurements of corresponding couplings. Combining them with the measurements of the top Yukawa coupling and the Higgs self-coupling at higher energies, the full ILC program is shown to allow a precision test of the mass-coupling relation.
The coupling of the Higgs to second generation particles can be studied by measuring the decay of the Higgs boson to two muons. In this analysis we considered the process at a centre of mass energy of 1 TeV, where the WW-fusion process is dominant and the Higgsstrahlung can be neglected. We assumed an integrated luminosity of 500 fb-1 and a beam polarization of (Pe- Pe+) = (-0.8,+0.2). We estimated the sensitivity of the Higgs coupling to muons using full simulation of the ILD detector described in the DBD. We developed a new selection for the two muons based on the latest available particle I…
We study the prospects of measuring the decay of the Higgs boson into a pair of muons at the International Linear Collider (ILC). The study is performed at center-of-mass energies of 250\,GeV and 500\,GeV, with fully-simulated Monte-Carlo samples based on the International Large Detector (ILD). The expected precision on cross section times branching ratio $σ\times \mathrm{BR}(h \to μ^+ μ^-)$ has been evaluated to be 24.9{\%} for an integrated luminosity of 2\,ab$^{-1}$ at 250\,GeV. This result improves to 17.5{\%} in combination with 4\,ab$^{-1}$ of 500\,GeV data. We also quantify the impact o…
In many models with extended Higgs sectors, $e.g.$ 2HDM, NMSSM, there exists a light scalar $h$, lighter than the Standard Model (SM) like Higgs, and the coupling of $hZZ$ can be very small, as expected from the likeness of the 125 GeV Higgs boson measured at the LHC to the SM Higgs boson. Such a light scalar with suppressed couplings to the $Z$ boson would have escaped detection at LEP due to its limited luminosity. With a factor of 1000 higher luminosity and polarized beams, the International Linear Collider (ILC) is expected to have substantial discovery potential for such states. Furthermo…
The plan for the International Linear Collider (ILC) is now being prepared as a staged design, with the first stage of 2 ${\rm ab^{-1}}$ at 250GeV and later stages achieving the full project specifications with 4 ${\rm ab^{-1}}$ at 500 GeV. The talk presents the capabilities for precision Higgs boson measurements at 250 GeV. It is shown that the 250 GeV stage of the ILC will already provide many compelling results in Higgs physics, with new measurements unavailable at the Large Hadron Collider, model-independent determinations of key parameters, and possible discrimination of a variety of scen…
We investigate a method for determining the CP nature of a neutral Higgs boson or spin-zero resonance at a future linear e+e- collider (ILC) in its tau decay channel. Our procedure is applicable if the production vertex of the Higgs boson can be measured. This will be the case, for example, for the Higgs-strahlung process. We show that the method is feasible for both the leptonic and the hadronic 1-prong tau decay modes.
The Standard Model (SM) predicts a branching ratio of the Higgs boson decaying to invisible particles of $\mathcal{O}$(0.001), though current measurements have only set upper limits on this value. The small SM-allowed rate can be enhanced if the Higgs boson decays into new particles such as dark matter. Upper limits have been placed on BR(H$\rightarrow$inv.) by ATLAS and CMS at $\mathcal{O}$(0.1), but the hadron environment limits precision. The ILC `Higgs factory' will provide unprecedented precision of this electroweak measurement. Studies of the search for H$\rightarrow$invisible processes …
The plan for the International Linear Collider is now being prepared as a staged design, with the first stage at 250 GeV and later stages achieving the full project specifications with 4 ab-1 at 500 GeV. This talk will present the capabilities for precision Higgs boson measurements at 250 GeV and their relation to the full ILC program. It will show that the 250 GeV stage of ILC will already provide many compelling results in Higgs physics, with new measurements not available at LHC, model-independent determinations of key parameters, and tests for and possible discrimination of a variety of sc…
The existence of dark matter has been established in astrophysics. However, there are no dark matter candidates in the Standard Model~(SM). If the dark matter particles or their mediator can not interact with SM fermions or gauge bosons, the Higgs boson is the only portal to the dark matter. We present a simulation study to search for invisible decays of the Higgs boson at the ILC with the ILD detector.
We derive the fully differential cross section of the Higgs-strahlung process $f \bar{f} \to Z \to Z (\to f_Z \bar{f}_Z) X (\to f_X \bar{f}_X)$, where $f$, $f_Z$, and $f_X$ are arbitrary fermions and $X$ is a spin-zero particle with arbitrary couplings to $Z$ bosons and fermions. This process with $f = e$ and $X = h$ ($h$ denotes the Higgs boson) is planned to be measured at the ILC to put constraints on the couplings $g_1$, $g_2$, $g_3$ of the Higgs boson to $Z$ bosons. Using the obtained fully differential cross section, we define observables measurement of which yields the tightest constrai…
We investigate the sensitivity to long-lived dark photons produced in Higgstrahlung events via the Higgs portal, $H \rightarrow γ_{D} γ_{D}$, with the Silicon Detector (SiD) at the International Linear Collider (ILC). These events provide a useful benchmark for tracking and vertex detector performance with long-lived particle decays at displaced vertices. The ILC is one of several Higgs factories proposed by the international community to study the properties of the Higgs boson at high precision.
In the Standard Model (SM) the couplings of the Higgs boson to SM particles and itself (self-couplings) are uniquely specified once the masses of the particles in question as well as the Higgs boson mass are given. Precision measurements of these couplings in the future collider experiments are the key to either verifying the mechanism of the electroweak symmetry breaking in the SM or uncovering physics beyond the SM. This article gives an overview of how various Higgs couplings will be measured at the ILC. Emphasis is put on the ILC's capability of performing fully model independent determina…
The violation of CP symmetry is one of Sakharov's conditions for the matter-antimatter asymmetry of the Universe. Currently known sources of CP violation in the quark and neutrino sectors are insufficient to account for this. Is CP also violated in the Higgs sector? Could the SM-like Higgs boson be a mixture of even and odd CP states of an extended Higgs sector? With what precision could such effects be measured at future electron-positron colliders? These questions will be discussed in the light of the latest and ongoing studies at ILC.
This document is the final report by the Committee on the Scientific Case of the ILC Operating at 250 GeV as a Higgs Factory. This committee was commissioned by the Japan Association of High Energy Physicists. The purpose of this committee is to investigate and compare the capability to determine the energy scale of new phenomena and new principles and the capability to uncover the origin of matter-antimatter asymmetry.
The measurement of Higgs self-coupling is one of the most crucial physics goals at the future colliders. At the LHC, the di-Higgs production is a main way to measure the Higgs trilinear coupling. As a complementary to the di-Higgs production, $t \bar{t} hh$ process may open a new avenue to measure di-Higgs physics at the LHC and a future 100 TeV $pp$ collider or a high energy $e^+e^-$ collider since the extra $t\bar t$ in the final states may efficiently suppress the backgrounds. However, such a kind of process is also controlled by the top-Higgs coupling. In this work, we investigate the impa…
The discovery at the LHC of a scalar particle with properties that are so far consistent with the SM Higgs boson is one of the most important advances in the history of particle physics. The challenge of future collider experiments is to determine whether its couplings will show deviations from the SM Higgs, as this would indicate new physics at the TeV scale, and also to probe the flavor structure of the Yukawa couplings. As a benchmark alternative to the SM Higgs, we consider a generic two Higgs doublet model (2HDM) and analyze the precision to which the LHC14, an ILC250, 500, 1000 GeV and a…
Higgs portal dark matter (DM) models are simple interesting and viable DM models. There are three types of the models depending on the DM spin: scalar, fermion and vector DM models. In this paper, we consider renormalizable, unitary and gauge invariant Higgs portal DM models, and study how large parameter regions can be surveyed at the International Linear Collider (ILC) experiment at $\sqrt{s}=500$ GeV. For the Higgs portal singlet fermion and vector DM cases, the force mediator involves two scalar propagators, the SM-like Higgs boson and the dark Higgs boson. We show that their interference …
Although the existence of Dark Matter (DM) has been suggested by various astrophysical observations, it has not yet been discovered today. We can assume a scenario in which the particles that account for the DM can interact with the Standard Model particles only through their couplings with the Higgs sector, the so-called Higgs-portal model. This model can be investigated by collider experiment using the invisible decay of Higgs boson. In this study, we evaluate the search ability of International Linear Collider (ILC) for invisible decay of the Higgs using International Large Detector (ILD) f…
We study the process γγ->h->bb_bar at ILC as a probe of different little Higgs models, including the simplest little Higgs model (SLH), the littlest Higgs model (LH), and two types of littlest Higgs models with T-parity (LHT-I, LHT-II). Compared with the Standard Model (SM) prediction, the production rate is found to be sizably altered in these little Higgs models and, more interestingly, different models give different predictions. We find that the production rate can be possibly enhanced only in the LHT-II for some part of the parameter space, while in all other cases the rate is suppressed.…
We explore the room for possible deviations from the Standard Model (SM) Higgs boson coupling structure in a systematic study of Higgs coupling scale factor benchmark scenarios using the latest signal rate measurements from the Tevatron and LHC experiments. We employ chi-squared fits performed with HiggsSignals, which takes into account detailed information on signal efficiencies and major correlations of theoretical and experimental uncertainties. All considered scenarios allow for additional non-standard Higgs boson decay modes, and various assumptions for constraining the total decay width …
We evaluate the expected measurement accuracy of the branching ratio of the Standard Model Higgs boson decaying into tau lepton pairs $h \to τ^+ τ^-$ at the ILC with a center-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s} = 500$ GeV with a full simulation of the ILD detector. We assume a Higgs mass of $M_h = 125$ GeV, a branching ratio of $\mathrm{BR}(h \to τ^+ τ^-) = 6.32 \%$, beam polarizations of $P(e^+, e^-) = (-0.8,+0.3)$, and an integrated luminosity of $\int L dt = 500 \mathrm{fb^{-1}}$. The Higgs-strahlung process $e^+ e^- \to Zh$ with $Z \to q \overline{q}$ and the $WW$-fusion process $e^+ e^- \to ν\ove…
Interpretations of searches for the Higgs boson are governed by model-dependent combinations of Higgs production cross sections and Higgs branching ratios. Mixing of the Higgs doublet with a hidden sector captures modifications from the Standard Model Higgs phenomenology in the standard search channels in a representative way, in particular because invisible Higgs decay modes open up. As a consequence, LHC exclusion bounds, which disfavor a heavy Standard Model Higgs can be consistently understood in terms of a standard-hidden mixed Higgs system. Shedding light on the possible existence of suc…
The Randall-Sundrum model with all Standard Model (SM) fields in the bulk, including the Higgs, can be probed by precision measurements at the ILC. In particular, the couplings of the Higgs to the gauge bosons of the SM can be determined with high accuracy at the ILC. Here we examine the deviations in these couplings from their SM values within the framework of the Universal Randall-Sundrum Model (URSM) as well as the corresponding couplings of the first Higgs Kaluza-Klein excitation.
Flavour-violating Higgs interactions are suppressed in the Standard Model such that their observation would be a clear sign of new physics. We investigate the prospects for detecting quark flavour-violating Higgs decays in the clean ILC environment. Concentrating on the decay to a bottom and a light quark $j$, we identify the dominant Standard Model background channels as coming from hadronic Standard Model Higgs decays with mis-identified jets. Therefore, good flavour tagging capabilities are essential to keep the background rate under control. Through a simple cut-based analysis, we find tha…
This article is based on the talk presented at the International Workshop on Future Linear Colliders (LCWS13) which held during November 11-15, 2013 at Tokyo, Japan. We present several analyses related to the Higgs total width study at ILC based on the full detector simulation of ILD, which are \eevvH followed by \Htobb and \HtoWW. The studies show that at $\unit{250}{GeV}$ we can determine the Higgs total width with a relative precision of 11% and the $HWW$ coupling with 4.8%, whereas at $\unit{500}{GeV}$ the expected precision can be significantly improved to 5% and 1.2% respectively, assumi…
The radion scalar field might be the lightest new particle predicted by extra-dimensional extensions of the Standard Model. It could thus lead to the first signatures of new physics at the LHC collider. We perform a complete study of the radion production in association with the Z gauge boson in the custodially protected warped model with a brane-localised Higgs boson addressing the gauge hierarchy problem. Radion-Higgs mixing effects are present. Such a radion production receives possibly resonant contributions from the Kaluza-Klein excitations of the Z boson as well as the extra neutral gaug…
An interesting model of dark matter involves a hidden sector decoupled from Standard Model (SM) fields except for some portal interaction. A concrete realization of this is the Hidden Abelian Higgs Model, which gives rise to decays of the SM Higgs boson into a pair of new bosons, called $Z_{\mathrm{d}}$ or dark photons. This note explores prospects for the search for such dark photons at the ILC with $\sqrt{s}=250$ GeV, where the dark photons decay promptly. For the $H\rightarrow Z_{\mathrm{d}}Z_{\mathrm{d}}\rightarrow 4\ell$ ($\ell = e,μ$) final state, it follows closely recent similar search…
We explore new physics (NP) effects in Higgs-Vector boson associated production at a future International Linear Collider (ILC) via e+e- -> Zh,Zhh, using effective field theory (EFT) techniques. In particular, we focus on a certain class of dimension 6 operators, which are generated by tree-level exchanges of a new heavy vector field in the underlying theory. These operators induce new contact terms of the form ψψϕDϕ, involving the Standard Model (SM) fermions (ψ), gauge-bosons (D is the covariant derivative) and the SM Higgs field (ϕ). We investigate the high-energy behaviour of these new eff…
We investigate the prospects of determining the CP nature of the 126 GeV neutral spin-0 (Higgs) boson h, discovered at the LHC, at a future linear collider. We consider the production of h by the Higgsstrahlung process and its subsequent decays to tau leptons. We investigate how precisely a possible pseudoscalar component of h can be detected by the measurement of a suitably defined angular distribution, if all major decay modes of the tau lepton are used. From our numerical simulations, we estimate the expected precision to the scalar-pseudoscalar mixing angle, including estimates of the back…
The recent discovery of a Higgs boson at the LHC, while establishing the Higgs mechanism as the way of electroweak symmetry breaking, started an era of precision measurements involving the Higgs boson. In an effective Lagrangian framework, we consider the $e^+e^-\rightarrow ZHH$ process at the ILC running at a centre of mass energy of 500 GeV to investigate the effect of the $ZZH$ and $ZZHH$ couplings on the sensitivity of $HHH$ coupling in this process. Our results show that the sensitivity of the trilinear Higgs self couplings on this process has somewhat strong dependence on the Higgs-gauge…
Measuring the Higgs-self coupling is one of the most crucial goals of the future colliders, such as the LHC Run-II and the ILC-based photon collider. Since the new physics can affects the di-Higgs production not only from the Higgs self-coupling but also from the top-Higgs coupling, we investigate the di-Higgs production in the presence of the non-standard top-Higgs coupling at the LHC and ILC-based photon collider given the recent Higgs data. Due to the changed interference behaviors of the top quark loops with itself or $W$ boson loops, we find that the cross section of di-Higgs production a…
We evaluate the measurement accuracy of the branching ratio of $h \to τ^+ τ^-$ at $\sqrt{s} = 250$ GeV and 500 GeV at the ILC with the ILD detector simulation. For the $\sqrt{s} = 250$ GeV, we assume the Higgs mass of $M_h = 120$ GeV, branching ratio of $\mathrm{Br}(h \to τ^+ τ^-) = 8.0 \ %$, beam polarization of $P(e^-, e^+) = (-0.8, +0.3)$, and integrated luminosity of $\int L \ dt = 250 \ \mathrm{fb ^{-1}}$. The Higgs-strahlung process $e^+ e^- \to Zh$ with $Z \to e^+ e^-$, $Z \to μ^+ μ^-$, $Z \to q\bar{q}$ mode are analyzed. The measurement accuracy is calculated to be $Δ(σ\cdot \mathrm{Br…
We consider the Higgs-radion mixing in the context of warped space extra dimensional models with custodial symmetry and investigate the prospects of detecting the mixed radion. Custodial symmetries allow the Kaluza-Klein excitations to be lighter, and protect Zbb to be in agreement with experimental constraints. We perform a complementary study of discovery reaches of the Higgs-radion mixed state at the 13 and 14 TeV LHC and at the 500 and 1000 GeV ILC. We carry out a comprehensive analysis of the most significant production and decay modes of the mixed radion in the 80 GeV - 1 TeV mass range,…
Recently the ATLAS and CMS experiments at the LHC have found a Higgs like boson $h$ with a mass around 125 GeV from several decay modes. The decay mode $h \to γγ$ is one of the most important modes in studying whether $h$ is actually the standard model (SM) Higgs boson. Current data indicate that $h\to γγ$ has a branching ratio larger than the SM prediction for $h$ being identified as the SM Higgs boson. To decide whether the $h$ discovered at the LHC is the SM Higgs boson, more data are needed. We study how $γγ$ collider can help to provide some of the most important information about the Hig…
We discuss complementarity of discovery reaches of heavier neutral Higgs bosons and charged Higgs bosons at the LHC and the International Linear Collider (ILC) in two Higgs doublet models (2HDMs). We perform a comprehensive analysis on their production and decay processes for all types of Yukawa interaction under the softly-broken discrete symmetry which is introduced to avoid flavour changing neutral currents, and we investigate parameter spaces of discovering additional Higgs bosons at the ILC beyond the LHC reach. We find that the 500 GeV run of the ILC with the integrated luminosity of 500…
We present bounds on all the known universal extra dimension models from the latest Higgs search data at the Large Hadron Collider, taking into account the Kaluza-Klein (KK) loop effects on the dominant gluon-fusion production and on the diphoton/digluon decay. The lower bound on the KK scale is from 500GeV to 1TeV depending on the model. We find that the Higgs production cross section with subsequent diphoton decay can be enhanced by a factor 1.5 within this experimental bound, with little dependence on the Higgs mass in between 115GeV and 130GeV. We also show that in such a case the Higgs de…
Run-I results from the CMS collaboration show an excess of events in the decay $h \to μτ_e$ with a local significances of 2.4$σ$. This could be the first hint of flavour violation in the Higgs sector. We summarise the bounds on the flavour violating Yukawa couplings from direct searches, low energy measurements and projected future experiments. We discuss the sensitivity of upcoming HL-LHC runs and future lepton colliders in measuring lepton-flavour violating couplings using an effective field theory framework. For the HL-LHC we find limits on BR($h\to μτ$) and BR$(h\to e τ) \lesssim \mathcal{…
In a class of new physics models, new physics sector is completely or partly hidden, namely, singlet under the Standard Model (SM) gauge group. Hidden fields included in such new physics models communicate with the Standard Model sector through higher dimensional operators. If a cutoff lies in the TeV range, such hidden fields can be produced at future colliders. We consider a scalar filed as an example of the hidden fields. Collider phenomenology on this hidden scalar is similar to that of the SM Higgs boson, but there are several features quite different from those of the Higgs boson. We inv…
In the Standard Model, the Higgs boson is a CP even state with CP conserving couplings; any deviations from this would be a sign of new physics. These CP properties can be probed by measuring Higgs decays to tau lepton pairs: the transverse correlation between the tau spins depends on CP. This paper develops such an analysis, using full simulation of signal and background events in the International Large Detector concept for the International Linear Collider. We consider Higgs-strahlung events e+ e- -> Z H) in which the Z boson decays to electrons, muons, or hadrons, and the Higgs boson decay…
The particle discovered in the Higgs boson searches at the LHC with a mass of about 125 GeV is compatible within the present uncertainties with the Higgs boson predicted in the Standard Model (SM), but it could also be identified with one of the neutral Higgs bosons in a variety of Beyond the SM (BSM) theories with an extended Higgs sector. The possibility that an additional Higgs boson (or even more than one) could be lighter than the state that has been detected at 125 GeV occurs generically in many BSM models and has some support from slight excesses that were observed above the background …
The radion scalar field might be the lightest new particle predicted by extra-dimensional extensions of the Standard Model, thus possibly leading to the first signatures of new physics at the LHC. We perform a study of its production in association with a $Z$ boson in the custodially protected warped model with a brane-localised Higgs boson addressing the gauge hierarchy problem, with Higgs-radion mixing effects included. While the considered radion production at the LHC would constrain some parts of the parameter space, it is only the ILC program that will be able to cover a significant part …
Yukawa production of a light scalar can be explored at a linear collider. Light (pseudo)scalar can exist in extended Higgs models and an interesting example is the light pseudoscalar in Type-X two Higgs doublet model. The model can explain the anomalous magnetic moment of muon at large $\tan β$. We show that the available parameter space in this model can be examined by the Yukawa process at 5$σ$ at the ILC.
We study the Dark Matter (DM) discovery prospect and its spin discrimination in the theoretical framework of gauge invariant and renormalizable Higgs portal DM models at the ILC with $\sqrt{s} = 500$ GeV. In such models, the DM pair is produced in association with a $Z$ boson. In case the singlet scalar DM, the mediator is just the SM Higgs boson, whereas for the fermion or vector DM there is an additional singlet scalar mediator that mixes with the SM Higgs boson, which produces significant observable differences. After careful investigation of the signal and backgrounds both at parton level …
The International Linear Collider (ILC) is a proposed electron -- positron collider with a collision energy of $\sqrt{s}$ = 500 GeV in the baseline configuration. The ILC physics program takes full advantage of the fact that the machine can be operated at arbitrary energy from the maximum down to the peak of the ZH production cross section near $\sqrt{s}$ = 250 GeV or below. It will advance our understanding of nature through precision measurements of Standard Model parameters, detailed study of the Higgs sector, and a comprehensive search for new phenomena that extends beyond the purely kinem…
The model independent measurement of the absolute ZH cross section of the Higgsstrahlung process e+e- -> ZH is an unique measurement at the ILC indispensable for measuring the Higgs couplings and their deviations from the Standard Model in order to identify new physics models. The performance in measuring the ZH cross section using events in which the Higgs boson recoils against a Z boson which decays into a pair of muons or electrons has been demonstrated based on full simulation of the ILD detector for three center of mass energies 250, 350, and 500 GeV, and two beam polarizations (Pe-,Pe+) …
For a long time, global fits of the electroweak sector of the Standard Model (SM) have been used to exploit measurements of electroweak precision observables at lepton colliders (LEP, SLC), together with measurements at hadron colliders (Tevatron, LHC), and accurate theoretical predictions at multi-loop level, to constrain free parameters of the SM, such as the Higgs and top masses. Today, all fundamental SM parameters entering these fits are experimentally determined, including information on the Higgs couplings, and the global fits are used as powerful tools to assess the validity of the the…
This paper presents a full simulation study of the measurement of the production cross section ($σ_{\mathrm{ZH}}$) of the Higgsstrahlung process $\mathrm{e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow ZH}$ and the Higgs boson mass ($M_{\mathrm{H}}$) at the International Linear Collider (ILC), using events in which a Higgs boson recoils against a Z boson decaying into a pair of muons or electrons. The analysis is carried out for three center-of-mass energies $\sqrt{s}$ = 250, 350, and 500 GeV, and two beam polarizations $\mathrm{e_{L}^{-}e_{R}^{+}}$ and $\mathrm{e_{R}^{-}e_{L}^{+}}$, for which the polarizations of $\ma…
