We present a search for standard model Higgs boson production in association with a W boson in proton-antiproton collisions at a center of mass energy of 1.96 TeV. The search employs data collected with the CDF II detector that correspond to an integrated luminosity of approximately 1.9 inverse fb. We select events consistent with a signature of a single charged lepton, missing transverse energy, and two jets. Jets corresponding to bottom quarks are identified with a secondary vertex tagging method, a jet probability tagging method, and a neural network filter. We use kinematic information in an artificial neural network to improve discrimination between signal and background compared to previous analyses. The observed number of events and the neural network output distributions are consistent with the standard model background expectations, and we set 95% confidence level upper limits on the production cross section times branching fraction ranging from 1.2 to 1.1 pb or 7.5 to 102 times the standard model expectation for Higgs boson masses from 110 to $150 GeV/c^2, respectively.
A search for the production of a single top quark in association with a Higgs boson is performed using the decay $\text{H} \to \text{b} \bar{\text{b}}$. The rate of this Higgs production mode is particularly sensitive to the relative sign of the Higgs boson couplings to fermions and bosons. The 2015 pp collisions data at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV are analyzed. This poster focuses on the discrimination between signal and background events. Upper limits, determined in the two-dimensional plane spanned by the coupling modifiers of the Higgs boson to top quarks and to vector bosons, are pr…
A serach for gamma gamma decays of Higgs boson is performed in the data sample collected at LEP with the ALEPH detector between 1991 and 1999. This corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 672 pb-1 centre-of-mass energies ranging from 88 to 202 GeV. The search is based on topologies arising from a Higgs boson produced in association with a fermion pair via the Higgs-strahlung process e+e- -> Hffbar, with ffbar = nunubar, e+e-, mu+mu-, tau+tau- or qqbar... The searches for Higgs boson production in association with a pair of top quarks at the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment using data collected during proton-proton collisions at a center of mass energy of 13 TeV in 2016 are presented. The decay modes of the Higgs boson that are discussed here correspond to the $H \rightarrow ZZ^{*}$, $H \rightarrow WW^{*}$, $H \rightarrow ττ$ and $H \rightarrow γγ$ channels.
The production of a Higgs boson in association with a single top quark is one of a few channels which are sensitive for not yet excluded anomalous couplings of the Higgs boson to fermions. Multivariate analysis tools are used for the reconstruction and classification of signal events, where the Higgs boson decays into bottom quarks and the single top quark decays leptonically. In this conference report the most recent results at time of the conference using the full dataset recorded by the CMS detector at 8 TeV are presented.
We present a search for a standard model Higgs boson produced in association with a W boson using 2.7 1/fb of integrated luminosity of pbar-p collision data taken at sqrt{s} = 1.96 TeV. Limits on the Higgs boson production rate are obtained for masses between 100 GeV and 150 GeV. Through the use of multivariate techniques, the analysis achieves an observed (expected) 95% confidence level upper limit of 5.6 (4.8) times the theoretically expected production cross section for a standard model Higgs boson with a mass of 115 GeV.
A search is presented for the standard model Higgs boson produced in association with top quarks using the full Run II proton-antiproton collision data set, corresponding to 9.45 inverse fb, collected by the Collider Detector at Fermilab. No significant excess over the expected background is observed, and 95% credibility-level upper bounds are placed on the cross section sigma(t\bar{t}H --> lepton + missing transverse energy + jets). For a Higgs boson mass of 125 GeV, we expect to set a limit of 12.6, and observe a limit of 20.5 times the standard model rate. This represents the most sensitive…
We present a search for the Standard Model Higgs boson produced in association with a Z or a W boson, using data collected with the CDF II detector at the Tevatron accelerator. A scenario where the Z decays into neutrinos or leptons originating from the W-decay escape detection and the Higgs decays into a $b\overline{b}$ pair is considered. Therefore the expected signature is large missing transverse energy ($\etmiss$), no isolated leptons, and two b-jets. We present the preliminary results in this search using 2.1$fb^{-1}$ of data collected by CDF.
We report results from a search for neutral Higgs bosons decaying to tau pairs produced in association with a b-quark in 1.2/fb of data taken from June 2006 to August 2007 with the D0 detector at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. The final state includes a muon, hadronically decaying tau and jet identified as coming from a $b$-quark. We set cross section times branching ratio limits on production of such neutral Higgs bosons in the mass range from 90 GeV/c^2 to 160 GeV/c^2. Exclusion limits are set at the 95% Confidence Level for several supersymmetric scenarios.
A review of the searches for the SM Higgs boson produced in association with a pair of top quarks, ${t\bar{t}H}$, using up to 13.3 fb$^{-1}$ of $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV collected with the ATLAS detector at the LHC is presented. Searches in the diphoton, multilepton and $b\bar{b}$ decay channels are summarised. The combination of these searches yields a measured (expected) significance for the observation of the ${t\bar{t}H}$ production process of $2.8 σ$ ($1.8 σ$).
We describe a search for the standard model Higgs boson with a mass of 105 GeV/c^2 to 145 GeV/c^2 in data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of approximately 450 pb^{-1} collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron ppbar collider at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV. The Higgs boson is required to be produced in association with a Z boson, and the Z boson is required to decay to either electrons or muons with the Higgs boson decaying to a bbbar pair. The data are well described by the expected background, leading to 95% confidence level cross section upper limits sigma(\ppb…
We present a search for the Standard Model Higgs boson produced in association with a Z or a W boson, using data collected with the CDF II detector at the Tevatron accelerator. A scenario where the Z decays into neutrinos or charged leptons originating from the W-decay escape detection and the Higgs decays into a $b\overline{b}$ pair is considered. Therefore the expected signature is large missing transverse energy ($\etmiss$), no isolated leptons, and two $b$-jets. We present the preliminary results in this search using 1.7$fb^{-1}$ of data collected by CDF and the work on future improvements…
A search for the Higgs boson produced in association with a W or Z boson in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV is performed with the CMS detector at the LHC using the full 2011 data sample, from an integrated luminosity of 5 inverse femtobarns. Higgs boson decay modes to tau tau and WW are explored by selecting events with three or four leptons in the final state. No excess above background expectations is observed, resulting in exclusion limits on the product of Higgs associated production cross section and decay branching fraction for Higgs boson masses between 110 …
We report results from a search for neutral Higgs bosons produced in association with b quarks using data recorded by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 7.3 fb-1. This production mode can be enhanced in several extensions of the standard model (SM) such as in its minimal supersymmetric extension (MSSM) at high tanBeta. We search for Higgs bosons decaying to tau pairs with one tau decaying to a muon and neutrinos and the other to hadrons. The data are found to be consistent with SM expectations, and we set upper limits on the cro…

No evidence of a signal is found. Upper limits on the heavy neutral Higgs boson production cross-section times its branching ratio to $b\bar{b}$ are set, ranging from 4.0 to 0.6 pb at 95% confidence level over a Higgs boson mass range of 450 to 1400 GeV. Results are interpreted within the two-Higgs-doublet mod…
This dissertation presents an experimental search for the Standard Model Higgs boson produced in association to the W boson in proton antiproton collisions at a center of mass energy of 1.96 TeV and recorded with the Collider Detector at Fermilab. We improve the sensitivity of the WH search by 17% through increased signal yield by 33% by introducing a novel method to reconstruct charged lepton candidates based on an isolated track, as well as a novel method to combine triggers in order to maximize the signal yield and yet not use an OR between triggers. The observed (median expected) 95% confi…

The results are based on pp collision data at a centre-of-mass energy of 8 TeV collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 inverse femtobarns. Pseudoscalar boson masses between 25 and 80 GeV are probed. No evidence for a pseudoscalar boson is found and upper limits are set on the production cross section times branching fraction to tau pairs between 7 and 39 pb a…
We present the results of searches for the standard model Higgs boson at CDF in final states with bottom quarks. Results are derived from the complete Tevatron Run II dataset, with a measured integrated luminosity of 9.5 fb$^{-1}$ of proton-antiproton data. The searches are performed for assumed Higgs masses between 90 and 150 GeV, for Higgs bosons produced in association with W or Z bosons. Employing several improved techniques, these are currently the most sensitive searches in the world for these processes, surpassing previous CDF results by 30% beyond what would be expected from the additi…
A search for evidence of invisible-particle decay modes of a Higgs boson produced in association with a Z boson at the Large Hadron Collider is presented. No deviation from the Standard Model expectation is observed in 4.5 fb$^{-1}$ (20.3 fb$^{-1}$) of 7 (8) TeV pp collision data collected by the ATLAS experiment. Assuming the Standard Model rate for ZH production, an upper limit of 75%, at the 95% confidence level is set on the branching ratio to invisible-particle decay modes of the Higgs boson at a mass of 125.5 GeV. The limit on the branching ratio is also interpreted in terms of an upper …

We present a search for neutral Higgs bosons decaying into b-bbar, produced in association with b quarks in p-pbar collisions. This process could be observable in supersymmetric models with high values of tan(beta). The event sample corresponds to 2.6/fb of integrated luminosity collected with the CDF II detector at the Fermilab Tevatron collider. We search for an enhancement in the mass of the two lead jets in events with three jets identified as coming from b quarks using a displaced vertex algorithm. A data-driven procedure is used to estimate the dijet mass spectrum of the non-resonant mul…
A search for the standard model Higgs boson produced in association with a top-quark pair is presented using data samples corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.0 inverse femtobarns (5.1 inverse femtobarns) collected in pp collisions at the center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV (8 TeV). Events are considered where the top-quark pair decays to either one lepton+jets (t tbar to ell nu q q' b bbar) or dileptons (t tbar to ell(+) nu ell(-) nu b bbar), ell being an electron or a muon. The search is optimized for the decay mode H to b bbar. The largest background to the t tbar H signal is top-quark…
We present a search for the standard model Higgs boson produced with a Z boson in 4.1 fb^-1 of data collected with the CDF II detector at the Tevatron. In events consistent with the decay of the Higgs boson to a bottom-quark pair and the Z boson to electrons or muons, we set 95% credibility level upper limits on the ZH production cross section times the H -> b bbar branching ratio. Improved analysis methods enhance signal sensitivity by 20% relative to previous searches beyond the gain due to the larger data sample. At a Higgs boson mass of 115 GeV/c^2 we set a limit of 5.9 times the standard …
A search is presented for the production of the Standard Model Higgs boson in association with a high-energy photon. With a focus on the vector-boson fusion process and the dominant Higgs boson decay into $b$-quark pairs, the search benefits from a large reduction of multijet background compared to more inclusive searches. Results are reported from the analysis of 132 fb$^{-1}$ of $pp$ collision data at $\sqrt{s}$=13 TeV collected with the ATLAS detector at the LHC. The measured Higgs boson signal yield in this final-state signature is $1.3 \pm 1.0$ times the Standard Model prediction. The obs…
We combine searches by the CDF and D0 Collaborations for the associated production of a Higgs boson with a W or Z boson and subsequent decay of the Higgs boson to a bottom-antibottom quark pair. The data, originating from Fermilab Tevatron p-pbar collisions at sqrt{s}=1.96 TeV, correspond to integrated luminosities of up to 9.7 fb^-1. The searches are conducted for a Higgs boson with mass in the range 100-150 GeV/c^2. We observe an excess of events in the data compared with the background predictions, which is most significant in the mass range between 120 and 135 GeV/c^2. The largest local si…
We present a search for associated production of the standard model (SM) Higgs boson and a $Z$ boson where the $Z$ boson decays to two leptons and the Higgs decays to a pair of $b$ quarks in $p\bar{p}$ collisions at the Fermilab Tevatron. We use event probabilities based on SM matrix elements to construct a likelihood function of the Higgs content of the data sample. In a CDF data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.7 fb$^{-1}$ we see no evidence of a Higgs boson with a mass between 100 GeV$/c^2$ and 150 GeV$/c^2$. We set 95% confidence level (C.L.) upper limits on the cross-…
The search for the production of the Higgs boson associated with a pair of top quarks in the ATLAS experiment is presented. It focuses on Higgs bosons decaying to $b\bar{b}$ and events containing two leptons (electrons and/or muons). It uses 20.3 fb$^{-1}$ of $pp$ collision data at $\sqrt{s}$ = 8 TeV collected with the ATLAS detector at the LHC in 2012. No significant excess of events is found and the 95% CL observed (expected) limit is 7.0xSM (4.3xSM). After combining with the single lepton final state an observed (expected) limit of 4.1xSM (2.6xSM) with a best fit of $μ=1.7\pm1.4$ is obtaine…

The following modes are studied: W($μν$)H, W(e$ν$)H, Z($μμ$)H, Z(ee)H and Z($νν$)H, with the Higgs decaying to bb pairs. 95% C.L. upper limits on the VH production cross section are derived for a Higgs mass between 110 and 135 GeV. The expected (observed) upper limit at 115 GeV is found to be 5.7 (8.3) times the standard model expectation.

A sample of approximately 24/fb of data recorded by the CMS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider, operating at center-of-mass energies of 7 TeV and 8 TeV in 2011 and 2012, respectively, is used to search for events consistent with the signature of two b jets recoiling with high momentum from a W(lnu), Z(ll), or Z(nunu) decay, where l = electron or muon (or hadronically-decaying tau particle in the case of W bosons). Observed signal significance and 95% confidence level upper …
A search for dark matter pair production in association with a Higgs boson decaying to a pair of bottom quarks is presented, using 3.2 $fb^{-1}$ of $pp$ collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV collected by the ATLAS detector at the LHC. The decay of the Higgs boson is reconstructed as a high-momentum $b\bar{b}$ system with either a pair of small-radius jets, or a single large-radius jet with substructure. The observed data are found to be consistent with the expected backgrounds. Results are interpreted using a simplified model with a $Z'$ gauge boson mediating the interaction between …
The associated production of Higgs boson and single top quark is of particular interest since it is senstive to the relative sign of the Higgs boson coupling to gauge bosons and the Yukawa coupling $y$ to fermions. The presented analysis is setting upper production limits on a model with $y_\text{t}=-1$, which has an enhanced cross section compared to the standard model expectation. For this it focusses on the Higgs boson decaying to a pair of b quarks and uses the full dataset of $pp$ collisions recorded with the CMS detector in 2012. It reports an upper limit on 7.57 times the expected cross…

We select events consistent with a signature of a single lepton ($e^\pm/μ^\pm$), missing transverse energy, and two jets. Jets corresponding to bottom quarks are identified with a secondary vertex tagging method and a neural network filter technique. The observed n…
At the end of 2008, the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) will come into operation and the two experiments ATLAS and CMS will start taking data from proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of \sqrt{s}=14 TeV. In preparation for the data taking period, the discovery potential for Higgs bosons beyond the Standard Model has been updated by both experiments and is reviewed here. In addition, the prospects for measuring the properties of a Higgs boson like its mass and width, its CP eigenvalues and its couplings to fermions and gauge bosons are discussed.
We present a search for Higgs bosons decaying into b-bbar and produced in association with W bosons in p-pbar collisions at sqrt{s}=1.96 TeV. This search uses 320 pb-1 of the dataset accumulated by the upgraded Collider Detector at Fermilab. Events are selected that have a high-transverse momentum electron or muon, missing transverse energy, and two jets, one of which is consistent with a hadronization of a b quark. Both the number of events and the dijet mass distribution are consistent with standard model background expectations, and we set 95% confidence level upper limits on the production…
This report summarises studies of associated production of electroweak gauge bosons and jets in proton-proton collisions at LHC with center of mass energy of 8 and 13 TeV. It is based on a selection of results published by the ATLAS Collaboration in the first half of 2017.
Several extensions of the Standard Model predict associated production of dark-matter particles with a Higgs boson. Such processes are searched for in final states with missing transverse momentum and a Higgs boson decaying to a $b\bar b$ pair with the ATLAS detector using 36.1 fb$^{-1}$ of $pp$ collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV at the LHC. The observed data are in agreement with the Standard Model predictions and limits are placed on the associated production of dark-matter particles and a Higgs boson.
Recent LEP searches for Higgs bosons in models other than the Minimal Standard Model and the Minimal Supersymetric Standard Model are reviewed. Limits are presented for Higgs bosons decaying into diphotons or invisible particles, and for charged Higgs bosons.
A Higgs particle produced in association with a Z boson and decaying into weak boson pairs is searched for in 336.4 1/pb of data collected by the L3 experiment at LEP at centre-of-mass energies from 200 to 209 GeV. Limits on the branching fraction of the Higgs boson decay into two weak bosons as a function of the Higgs mass are derived. These results are combined with the L3 search for a Higgs boson decaying to photon pairs. A Higgs produced with a Standard Model e+e- --> Zh cross section and decaying only into electroweak boson pairs is excluded at 95% CL for a mass below 107 GeV.
We report on the results of a search for standard model Higgs bosons produced in association with W bosons from p-pbar collisions at root s = 1.96 TeV. The search uses a data sample corresponding to approximately 1 fb-1 of integrated luminosity. Events consistent with the W to l-nu and H to b-bbar signature are selected by triggering on a high-pT electron or muon candidate and tagging one or two of the jet candidates as having originated from b quarks. A neural network filter rejects a fraction of tagged charm and light flavor jets, increasing the b-jet purity in the sample and thereby reducin…
This Letter presents the results of a direct search with the ATLAS detector at the LHC for a Standard Model Higgs boson of mass 110 < m(H) < 130 GeV produced in association with a W or Z boson and decaying to bb. Three decay channels are considered: ZH->llbb, WH->lvbb, and ZH->vvbb, where l corresponds to an electron or a muon. No evidence for Higgs boson production is observed in a dataset of 7 TeV pp collisions corresponding to 4.7/fb of integrated luminosity collected by ATLAS in 2011. Exclusion limits on Higgs boson production, at the 95% confidence level, of 2.5 to 5.5 times the Standard …
A search for dark matter produced in association with a dark Higgs boson decaying into a Higgs boson pair in 3$b$ or 4$b$ final states using $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=13$ TeV with the ATLAS detector
Several extensions of the Standard Model predict the production of dark matter particles at the LHC. An uncharted signature of dark matter particles produced in association with $VV=W^\pm W^\mp$ or $ZZ$ pairs from a decay of a dark Higgs boson $s$ is searched for using 139 fb$^{-1}$ of $pp$ collisions recorded by the ATLAS detector at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. The $s\to V(q\bar q)V(q\bar q)$ decays are reconstructed with a novel technique aimed at resolving the dense topology from boosted $VV$ pairs using jets in the calorimeter and tracking information. Dark Higgs scenarios with $m_s…

This article reports on a search for dark matter pair production in association with a Higgs boson decaying to a pair of bottom quarks, using data from $20.3 fb^{-1}$ of $pp$ collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 8 TeV collected by the ATLAS detector at the LHC. The decay of the Higgs boson is reconstructed as a high-momentum $b\bar{b}$ system with either a pair of small-radius jets, or a single large-radius jet with substructure. The observed data are found to be consistent with the expected Standard Model backgrounds. Model-independent upper limits are placed on the visible cross-sections…
Cross section measurements of top quark production in association with a vector boson in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}=13\,\mathrm{TeV}$ at the CERN LHC provide an important probe of the electroweak top quark couplings. In this contribution, recent results of the ATLAS and CMS Collaborations for the measurement of top quark pair and single top quark production in association with a photon or a Z boson are presented. Both inclusive and differential cross section measurements are performed, and the results are compared to state-of-the-art predictions in the standard model of particle phy…
Searches for this Higgs boson are reaching an exciting time. This proceeding reports the progress on Standard Model Higgs boson searches at the Tevatron and the prospects for Higgs boson searches at the Large Hadron Collider. Also reported are the results of non Standard Model searches and prospects at the Tevatron, Large Hadron Collide and B factories. Included in this result are the first limits on the mass of the Standard Model Higgs boson at high masses beyond the kinematic reach of the Large Electron Positron collider.
A search for an invisibly decaying Higgs boson or dark matter candidates produced in association with a leptonically decaying $Z$ boson in proton--proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} =$ 13 TeV is presented. This search uses 36.1 fb$^{-1}$ of data collected by the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider. No significant deviation from the expectation of the Standard Model backgrounds is observed. Assuming the Standard Model $ZH$ production cross-section, an observed (expected) upper limit of 67% (39%) at the 95% confidence level is set on the branching ratio of invisible decays of the Higgs bos…
The study of the associated production of vector bosons and jets constitutes an excellent environment to check numerous QCD predictions. Total and differential cross sections of vector bosons produced in association with jets have been studied in pp collisions using CMS data. Differential distributions as a function of a broad range of kinematical observables are measured and compared with theoretical predictions. In this talk, studies of associated production of vector bosons with inclusive jets and with jets originating from heavy-flavour quarks will be summarized.
Searches for exotic decays of the 125 GeV Higgs boson performed with data collected by the CMS experiment are presented. Three classes of searches are detailed: searches for invisible decays of the Higgs boson, searches for lepton flavor violating Higgs decays, and searches for decays to the Higgs boson to light pseudoscalars decaying to SM particle pairs. These analyses are based on data collected at center-of-mass energies of 8 and 13 TeV.
A search for the standard model Higgs boson produced in association with a W or a Z boson and decaying a pair of $τ$ leptons is performed. A data sample of proton-proton collisions collected at $\sqrt{s} =$ 13 TeV by the CMS experiment at the CERN LHC is used, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb$^{-1}$. The signal strength is measured relative to the expectation for the standard model Higgs boson, yielding $μ=$ 2.5 $^{+1.4} _{-1.3}$. These results are combined with earlier CMS measurements targeting Higgs boson decays to a pair of $τ$ leptons, performed with the same data set …
A summary of the Higgs boson searches by the ATLAS and CMS collabrations using 1 f b-1 of LHC data is presented, concentrating on the Standard Model Higgs boson. Both experiments have the sensitivity to exclude at 95% CL a Standard Model Higgs boson in most of the Higgs boson mass region between about 130 GeV and 400 GeV. The observed data allow the exclusion of a Higgs Boson of mass 155 GeV to 190 GeV and 295 GeV to 450 GeV (ATLAS) and 149 GeV to 206 GeV and 300 GeV to 440 GeV (CMS). The lower limits are not as constraining as might be expected due to an excess in both experiments of order 2-…

This study is based on data collected with the ATLAS detector, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 36.1 fb$^{-1}$ of proton--proton collisions at the LHC at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV in 2015 and 2016. No significant excess over the expected background is observed. Upper limits at 95% confidence level are set on the visible cross section for beyond the Standard Model physics processes, and the production cross section times branching fraction of the Standard Model Higgs boson decayi…
To clarify the electroweak symmetry breaking mechanism, we need to probe the Higgs self-couplings, which can be measured in Higgs pair productions. The associated production with a vector boson is special due to a clear tag in the final state. We perform a fully differential next-to-next-to-leading-order calculation of the Higgs pair production in association with a $W$ boson at hadron colliders, and present numerical results at the 14 TeV LHC and a future 100 TeV hadron collider.
In these proceedings, we present results for Higgs production at the LHC via gluon fusion with triple real emission corrections and the validity range of the heavy-top effective theory approximation for this process. For a general CP-violating Higgs boson, we show that bottom-quark loop corrections in combination with large values of $\tan β$ significantly distort differential distributions.
We present a fully differential next-to-next-to-leading order calculation of the Higgs pair production in association with a $Z$ boson, which is important for probing the trilinear Higgs self-coupling. The next-to-next-to-leading-order corrections enhance the next-to-leading order total cross sections by a factor of $1.2\sim 1.5$, depending on the collider energy, and change the shape of next-to-leading order kinematic distributions. We discuss how to determine the trilinear Higgs self-coupling using our results.
We present an implementation of Higgs boson production via vector-boson fusion in association with three jets at hadron colliders in the POWHEG-BOX, a framework for the matching of NLO-QCD calculations with parton-shower programs. Our work provides the means to precisely describe the properties of extra jet activity in vector-boson fusion reactions that are used for the suppression of QCD backgrounds by central jet veto techniques. For a representative setup at the CERN LHC we verify that uncertainties related to parton-shower effects are mild for distributions related to the third jet, in con…
We study the production of a Higgs boson recoiling from a massless invisible system in $e^ + e^ -$ collisions. This is a quite distinctive signature that can arise when the Higgs boson is produced in association with a massless dark photon, which can happen in BSM scenarios foreseeing an extra unbroken $U(1)$ gauge group. Dark photons can indeed acquire effective couplings to the Higgs boson as occurs in models recently proposed to generate exponentially-spread Yukawa couplings. We analyze the signal and corresponding backgrounds for $H\to b\bar{b}$, and estimate ILC and FCC-ee sensitivities i…
We extend the recent computation of Higgs boson production in association with a jet through next-to-next-to-leading order in perturbative QCD by including decays of the Higgs boson to electroweak vector bosons. This allows us to compute fiducial cross sections and kinematic distributions including realistic selection criteria for the Higgs boson decay products. As an illustration, we present results for $pp \to H + j \to γγ+ j$ closely following the ATLAS 8 TeV analysis and for $pp \to H+ j \to W W + j \to e^+ μ^- ν\bar ν+ j $ in a CMS-like 13 TeV setup.
