The quark-gluon sea in the hadrons is considered as periodically correlated. Energy levels of Shrodinger equation with harmonic potential is used for describing of the spectrum of hadron masses. In the considered cases the effective potential operating on each particle of ensemble, under certain conditions becomes square-law on displacement from a equilibrium point. It can become an explanation of popularity of oscillator potential for the description of a spectrum of masses of elementary particles. The analysis shows that levels of periodic potential better agreed to the spectrum of hadron masses, than levels of other potentials used for an explanation of a spectrum of masses.
Despite that quantum chromodynamics, the theory of strong interaction, has colorful quarks and gluons as its basic degrees of freedom, all fundamental particles participating the strong interaction that can be directly detected in experiments are colorless or color-singlet hadrons. This phenomenon is called color confinement. Because of that, the study of hadron spectroscopy is essential in improving our understanding of the nonperturbative regime of QCD and to reveal the mechanism of color confinement. The high-luminosity electron-positron collision machine under discussion, Super tau-Charm F…
One of the most important problem in hadron physics is to establish the Lorentz-invariant classification scheme of composite hadrons, extending the framework of non-relativistic quark model. We present an attempt, by developing proper-time $τ$ quantum mechanics on a multi-quark system in particle frame (with constant boost velocity $\boldsymbol{v}$). We start from the variational method on a classical mechanics action where a constituent quark has Pauli-type $SU(2)_σ$ spin. Then the $SU(2)_{\mathfrak{m}}$ symmetry, concerning the sign-reversal on quark mass, has arisen with the basic vectors, …
We present and discuss some experimental approaches involving spectroscopy from heavy meson decays going to light mesons. In particular we emphasis the scalar resonance $f_0(980)$, which have different well determined parameter of mass and width obtained from $J/ψ$ and D decays. We will also show how the CP violation observed in charmless three body decay can be used as tool to understand hadron hadron interaction at low mass region
Lattice QCD approach to study the hadronic resonances and exotic hadrons is described at an introductory level. The main challenge is that these states decay strongly via one or more decay channels, and they often lie near thersholds. Specific results for conventional and exotic hadrons are shown to illustrate the current status.
Open charm hadrons are excellent probe to study the dynamics of quarks and gluons inside hadrons. Because the mass of a charm quark is heavier than $Λ_{QCD}$, the so called heavy quark symmetry emerges in the hadron containing a charm quark and plays a central role in the classification and constraining the interactions. Belle and BaBar, which are B-factory experiments, have made significant advances in the field of open charm hadron spectroscopy in these 15 years. In this article, experimental advances on both open charm mesons and baryons by B-factory experiments are reviewed. Finally, the p…
I review recent results on hadron spectroscopy using lattice QCD. In light of the discoveries in heavy baryon sector at LHCb over the past few years, lattice calculations in this regard are emphasized. Investigations on light baryon, heavy-heavy and heavy-light meson resonances are also discussed.
Central exclusive production in hadron-hadron collisions at high energies, for example p + p -> p + X + p, where the "+" represents a large rapidity gap, is a valuable process for spectroscopy of mesonic states X. At collider energies the gaps can be large enough to be dominated by pomeron exchange, and then the quantum numbers of the state X are restricted. Isoscalar JPC = 0++ and 2++ mesons are selected, and our understanding of these spectra is incomplete. In particular, soft pomeron exchanges favor gluon-dominated states such as glueballs, which are expected in QCD but not yet well establi…
The status and prospects for investigations of exotic and conventional hadrons with lattice QCD are discussed. The majority of hadrons decay strongly via one or multiple decay-channels, including most of the experimentally discovered exotic hadrons. Despite this difficult challenge, the properties of several hadronic resonances have been determined within lattice QCD. To further discern the spectroscopic properties of various hadrons and to help resolve their nature we present our suggestions for future analytic and lattice studies.
The LHCb experiment is designed to study properties and decays of heavy flavored hadrons produced from $pp$ collisions at the LHC. During Run~1, it has recorded the world's largest data sample of beauty and charm hadrons, enabling precision spectroscopy studies of such particles. Several important results obtained by LHCb, such as the discovery of the first pentaquark states and the first unambiguous determination of the $Z_c(4430)^-$ as an exotic state, have dramatically increased the interest on spectroscopy of heavy hadrons. An overview of the latest LHCb results on the subject, including t…
Using iEBE-VISHNU hybrid model with the AMPT initial conditions, we study the higher order flow harmonics of identified hadrons in 2.76 A TeV Pb+Pb collisions. Comparison with the recent ALICE measurements at 20-30\% centrality shows that our calculations nicely describe the data below 2 GeV, especially for the $v_2$, $v_3$ and $v_4$ mass-orderings among pions, kaons and protons. We also extended the calculations to other centrality bins, which presents similar mass-ordering patterns for these flow harmonics as the ones observed at 20-30\% centrality. In the later part of this article, we expl…
The knowledge of hadron spectrum is based on experimental observations of hadronic resonances. The resonances are normally observed as peaks in certain invariant mass distributions. However, neither is a peak necessarily due to the presence of a resonance, nor does a resonance necessarily lead to a peak. Kinematic singularities can also produce peaks. Here, we discuss such possibilities and methods distinguishing genuine resonances from kinematic effects.
We present the next-to-leading-order event-by-event EKRT model predictions for the centrality dependence of the charged hadron multiplicity in the pseudorapidity interval $|η|\le 0.5$, and for the centrality dependence of the charged hadron flow harmonics $v_n\{2\}$ obtained from 2-particle cumulants, in $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=5.44$ TeV Xe+Xe collisions at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. Our prediction for the 0-5 \% central charged multiplicity is $dN_{\rm ch}/dη=1218\pm 46$. We also predict $v_n\{2\}$ in Xe+Xe collisions to increase more slowly from central towards peripheral collisions than those i…
