We extend our previous description of the superscaling phenomenon in inclusive electron scattering within the Coherent Density Fluctuation Model (CDFM). This model is a natural extension to finite nuclei of the Relativistic Fermi Gas Model (RFG) within which the scaling variable $ψ^{\prime}$ was introduced. In this work we propose a new modified CDFM approach to calculate the total, longitudinal and transverse scaling functions built up from the hadronic tensor and the longitudinal and transverse response functions in the RFG. We test the superscaling behavior of the new CDFM scaling functions by calculating the cross sections of electron scattering (in QE- and $Δ$-region for nuclei with $12\leq A\leq208$ at different energies and angles) and comparing to available experimental data. The new modified CDFM approach is extended to calculate charge-changing neutrino and antineutrino scattering on $^{12}$C at 1 GeV incident energy.
The predictions of the hypercentral Consituent Quark Model for the nucleon helicity amplitudes are briefly reported. Some future perspectives are also discussed.
The Multi-Phase Transport model (AMPT) is used to investigate the longitudinal broadening of the transverse momentum two-particle correlator $C_{2}\left(Δη,Δφ\right)$, and its utility to extract the specific shear viscosity, $η/s$, of the quark-gluon plasma formed in ultra-relativistic heavy ion collisions. The results from these model studies indicate that the longitudinal broadening of $C_{2}\left(Δη,Δφ\right)$ is sensitive to the magnitude of $η/s$. However, reliable extraction of the longitudinal broadening of the correlator requires the suppression of possible self-correlations associated…
We report in a systematic way the predictions of the non-relativistic hypercentral Constituent Quark model for the electromagnetic excitations of baryon resonances. The longitudinal and transverse helicity amplitudes are calculated with no free parameters for fourteen resonances, both for proton and neutron. The calculations lead to an overall fair description of data, specially in the medium $Q^2$ range, where quark degrees of freedom are expected to dominate.
A new method for solving relativistic ideal hydrodynamics in (1+3)D is developed. Longitudinal and transverse radial flows are explicitly embedded and the hydrodynamic equations are reduced to a single equation for the transverse velocity field only, which is much more tractable. As an application we use the method to find analytically all possible solutions with power dependence on proper time and transverse radius. Possible application to the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collisions and possible generalizations of the method are discussed.
The effect of multiple scatterings on the propagation of hard partonic jets in a dense nuclear medium is studied in the framework of deep-inelastic scattering (DIS) off a large nucleus. Power counting arguments based on the Glauber improved Soft-Collinear-Effective-Theory are used to identify the class of leading power corrections to the process of a single parton traversing the extended medium without emission. It turns out that the effect of longitudinal drag and diffusion (often referred to as straggling) is as important as transverse scattering, when relying solely on power counting argume…
We study the medium-induced gluon emission from a hard quark jet traversing the dense nuclear matter within the framework of deep inelastic scattering off a large nucleus. We extend the previous work and compute the single gluon emission spectrum including both transverse and longitudinal momentum exchanges between the hard jet parton and the medium constituents. On the other hand, with only transverse scattering and using static scattering centers for the traversed medium, our induced gluon emission spectrum in the soft gluon limit reduces to the Gyulassy-Levai-Vitev one-rescattering-one-emis…
We study the effect of multiple scatterings on the propagation of hard partons and the production of jet-bremsstrahlung photons inside a dense medium in the framework of deep-inelastic scattering off a large nucleus. We include the momentum exchanges in both longitudinal and transverse directions between the hard partons and the constituents of the medium. Keeping up to the second order in a momentum gradient expansion, we derive the spectrum for the photon emission from a hard quark jet when traversing dense nuclear matter. Our calculation demonstrates that the photon bremsstrahlung process i…
In the present work, we investigate the effects of magnetic field on expanding hot and dense nuclear matter as an ideal fluid. We consider QGP, on the particular case of a (1 + 2) dimensional longitudinally boost-invariant fluid expansion, in the background of an inhomogeneous magnetic field that is generated by external sources. We assume the magnetic field points in the direction perpendicular to the reaction plane, follows the power-law decay in proper time, and has two components on the transverse plane. To simplify the calculation, we suppose the investigated fluid has azimuthal symmetry,…

We study the production of jet-bremsstrahlung photons through the scattering with the constituents of a dense nuclear matter within the framework of deep-inelastic scattering off a large nucleus. Applying a gradient expansion up to the second order for the exchanged three-dimensional momentum between jet and medium, we derive the single photon bremsstrahlung spectrum with the inclusion of the contributions from the transverse broadening as well as the longitudinal drag and diffusion of the hard parton's momentum. We also compare the medium-induced photon radiation spectra for single scattering…
We report on a phenomenological analysis of all available electron scattering data on ${\rm ^{12}C}$ (about 6600 differential cross section measurements) and on ${\rm ^{16}O}$ (about 250 measurements) within the framework of the quasielastic (QE) superscaling model (including Pauli blocking). All QE and inelastic cross section measurements are included down to the lowest momentum transfer $\bf q$ (including photo-production data). We find that there is enhancement of the transverse QE response function ($R_T^{QE}$) and quenching of the QE longitudinal response function ($R_L^{QE}$) at low $\bf…
