We provide conservative bounds on the dark matter cross-section and lifetime from final state radiation produced by annihilation or decay into charged leptons, either directly or via an intermediate particle $ϕ$. Our analysis utilizes the experimental gamma-ray flux upper limits from four Milky Way dwarf satellites: HESS observations of Sagittarius and VERITAS observations of Draco, Ursa Minor, and Willman 1. Using 90% confidence level lower limits on the integrals over the dark matter distributions, we find that these constraints are largely unable to rule out dark matter annihilations or decays as an explanation of the PAMELA and ATIC/PPB-BETS excesses. However, if there is an additional Sommerfeld enhancement in dwarfs, which have a velocity dispersion ~10 to 20 times lower than that of the local Galactic halo, then the cross-sections for dark matter annihilating through $ϕ$'s required to explain the excesses are very close to the cross-section upper bounds from Willman 1. Dark matter annihilation directly into $τ$'s is also marginally ruled out by Willman 1 as an explanation of the excesses, and the required cross-section is only a factor of a few below the upper bound from Draco. Finally, we make predictions for the gamma-ray flux expected from the dwarf galaxy Segue 1 for the Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope. We find that for a sizeable fraction of the parameter space in which dark matter annihilation into charged leptons explains the PAMELA excess, Fermi has good prospects for detecting a gamma-ray signal from Segue 1 after one year of observation.
Due to their higher concentrations and small internal velocities, Milky Way subhalos can be at least as important as the smooth halo in accounting for the GeV positron excess via dark matter annihilation. After showing how this can be achieved in various scenarios, including in Sommerfeld models, we demonstrate that, in this case, the diffuse inverse-Compton emission resulting from electrons and positrons produced in substructure leads to a nearly-isotropic signal close to the level of the isotropic GeV gamma-ray background seen by Fermi. Moreover, we show that HESS cosmic-ray electron measure…
We investigate the polarization properties of vector quarkonia in lepton anti-lepton annihilation with special attention to effects due to intermediate Z bosons.
We give theoretical predictions for the radio emission of a dark matter candidate annihilating into 2-lepton and 4-lepton final states. We then compare our results with the known radio measurements of the sky temperature as a function of the frequency. In particular, we calculate the radio emission for some dark matter candidates annihilating into intermediate bosons that subsequently decay into a 4-lepton channel with a thermal annihilation cross-section. We show that within the range of frequencies from $20\,{\rm MHz}$ to $5\,{\rm GHz}$, this channel can produce a stronger signature than dir…
We investigate the relation between the annihilation of dark matter (DM) particles into lepton pairs and into 2-body final states including one or two photons. We parametrize the DM interactions with leptons in terms of contact interactions, and calculate the loop-level annihilation into monochromatic gamma rays, specifically computing the ratio of the DM annihilation cross sections into two gamma rays versus lepton pairs. While the loop-level processes are generically suppressed in comparison with the tree-level annihilation into leptons, we find that some choices for the mediator spin and co…
The cosmic electron and positron excesses have been explained as possible dark matter (DM) annihilation products. In this work we investigate the possible effects of such a DM annihilation scenario during the evolution history of the Universe. We first calculate the extragalactic $γ$-ray background (EGRB), which is produced through the final state radiation of DM annihilation to charged leptons and the inverse Compton scattering between electrons/positrons and the cosmic microwave background. The DM halo profile and the minimal halo mass, which are not yet well determined from the current N-bo…
For the large-angles hard photon emission by initial leptons in process of high energy annihilation of $e^+ e^- \to $ to hadrons the Dirac tensor is obtained, taking into account the lowest order radiative corrections. The case of large-angles emission of two hard photons by initial leptons is considered. This result is being completed by the kinematics case of collinear hard photons emission as well as soft virtual and real photons and can be used for construction of Monte-Carlo generators.
Pure leptonic radiative decays of heavy-light mesons are calculated using a very simple non-relativistic model. Dominant contribution originates from photon emission from light initial quark. We find $BR(B^\pm\to\ellνγ)\sim3.5\times10^{-6}$ and $BR(D_s\to \ellνγ)\sim1.7 \times10^{-4}$. The importance of these reactions to clarify the dynamics of the annihilation graph is emphasized.
We extend previous calculations of polarization observables for the annihilation reaction $\bar p +p\to \ell^{-}+\ell^{+}$ to the case of heavy leptons, such as the $τ$-lepton. We consider the case when the beam and/or the target are polarized, as well as the polarization of the outgoing leptons. We give the dependence of the unpolarized cross section, angular asymmetry, and various polarization observables on the relevant kinematical variables in the center of mass and in the laboratory system, with particular attention to the effect of the mass induced terms.
This paper describes the MC@NLO method for matching next-to-leading order (NLO) perturbative QCD with the parton shower and hadronization model of the Monte Carlo (MC) event generator tt Herwig++, for e+e- annihilation and Drell-Yan lepton pair production. Details of the event generation method as well as spin, flavour, momentum and colour assignments are presented. We obtain predictions for various distributions which arecompared with experimental data.
Numerical simulations of dark matter collapse and structure formation show that in addition to a large halo surrounding the baryonic component of our galaxy, there also exists a significant number of subhalos that extend hundreds of kiloparsecs beyond the edge of the observable Milky Way. We find that for dark matter (DM) annihilation models, galactic subhalos can significantly modify the spectrum of electrons and positrons as measured at our galactic position. Using data from the recent Via Lactea II simulation we include the subhalo contribution of electrons and positrons as boundary source …
The annihilation of proton and antiproton to electron-positron pair, including radiative corrections due to the emission of virtual and real photons is considered. The results are generalized to leading and next-to leading approximations. The relevant distributions are derived and numerical applications are given in the kinematical range accessible to the PANDA experiment at the FAIR facility.
We evaluate the next-to-leading order radiative corrections to a process in the massless Schwinger model that is the analogue of the $e^+e^-$ inclusive annihilation into hadrons process in QCD. We then carry out an asymptotic expansion of the calculable exact result and find that it agrees with the perturbative answer. However, we also find that higher orders in the asymptotic expansion involve terms that depend on the logarithm of the strong coupling constant.
We calculate the radiative corrections to the annihilation of the Dark Matter particles into leptons. Lepton masses are taken into account. As the Dark Matter particles are considered both Dirac and Majorana fermions. We sum up all the leading logarithms contributions where it is possible. We show that in the Dirac fermion case the resulting cross-section is consistent with the renormalization group prediction: the cross-section have the Drell-Yan form. Whereas, in the Majorana fermions case we have two essentially different limits of the resulting cross-section and quantitively the answer str…
We consider constraints on simplified models in which scalar dark matter annihilates to light charged leptons through the exchange of charged mediators. We find that loop diagrams will contribute corrections to the magnetic and electric dipole moments of the light charged leptons, and experimental constraints on these corrections place significant bounds on the dark matter annihilation cross section. In particular, annihilation to electrons with an observable cross section would be ruled out, while annihilation to muons is only permitted if the dominant contributions arise from CP-violating in…
We present a model of weak scale Dark Matter (DM) where the thermal DM density is set by the lepton asymmetry due to the presence of higher dimension lepton violating operators. In these models there is generically a separation between the annihilation cross-section responsible for the relic abundance (through lepton violating operators) and the annihilation cross-section that is relevant for the indirect detection of DM (through lepton preserving operators). Due to this separation, there is a perceived boost in the annihilation cross-section in the galaxy today relative to that derived for ca…
Dark matter (DM) constitutes 85% of the matter in the Universe. However, its specific particle property is still unclear. The fundamentals of DM particles subject to gravitational interaction, and that the lepton excess in cosmic rays may originate from DM particles, inspired us to investigate DM particle properties beyond the standard model. We assume that a leptophilic SU(2) doublet exists in nature as the mediator connecting DM with visible leptons. Since general relativity is not renormalizable at the quantum level, it should be regarded as an effective field theory's leading order term. O…
The total cross-sections measured at LEP for e+e- annihilation into tau+tau-, c\bar{c} and b\bar{b} at 2E ~ 200 GeV are used to derive the upper limits 3*10^{-17}, 5*10^{-17}, 2*10^{-17} e*cm for the electric dipole moments and 4*10^{-17}, 7*10^{-17}, 2.5*10^{-17} e*cm for the weak dipole moments of the tau-lepton, c-, and b-quarks, respectively. Some of the existing limits on these moments are improved and for the b-quark the improvement is rather significant.
The annihilation of the $B_c$ meson to leptons and inclusive light hadrons is analyzed in the framework of nonrelativistic QCD (NRQCD) factorization. We find that the decay mode, which escapes from the helicity suppression, contributes a sizable fraction width. According to the analysis, the branching ratio due to the contribution from the color-singlet component of the meson $B_c$ can be of order (10^{-2}). We also estimate the contributions from the color-octet components. With the velocity scaling rule of NRQCD, we find that the color-octet contributions are sizable too, especially, in cert…
It was recently argued by Hooper and Goodenough [arXiv:1010.2752] that the excess gamma ray emission from within 1-2 degrees of the galactic center can be well-described by annihilation of ~8 GeV dark matter particles into tau pairs. I show that such a dark matter signal can be obtained naturally in the lepton-specific two-Higgs-doublet model extended by a stable singlet scalar dark matter candidate. The favored parameter region prefers a light Higgs state (below 200 GeV) with enhanced couplings to leptons and sizable invisible branching fraction. Part of the favored region leads to invisible …
Recent results from the PAMELA experiment indicate an excess in the positron spectrum above 10 GeV, but anti-proton data are consistent with the expected astrophysical backgrounds. We propose a scenario that reproduces these features. Dark matter annihilates through channels involving a new heavy vectorlike lepton which then decays by mixing with Standard Model leptons. If charged, this heavy lepton might be produced at the LHC, and could lead to multi-lepton final states or to long-lived charged tracks. Large neutrino detectors such as ANTARES or IceCube might be sensitive to a monochromatic …
We review the detection of the Delta L=2 semileptonic meson decays of the form M(+) -> M'(-) lepton(+) lepton(-) that we studied in a previous work, mediated by a Majorana neutrino with a mass in the range between the masses of the initial and final mesons. For such range of masses, the Majorana neutrino will go on its mass shell and the two charged leptons will appear at displaced vertices or, if the lifetime is long enough, most secondary vertices will fall outside the detector. We study the consequences of this effect on the experimental searches and limits that can be extracted.
Complete one-loop electroweak radiative corrections to the cross section of the process $e^+e^- \to μ^-μ^+ (τ^-τ^+)$ are evaluated with the help of the \SANC system. Higher-order contributions of the initial state radiation are computed in the QED structure function formalism. Numerical results are given for the center-of-mass energy range $\sqrt{s}=5, ~7$~GeV for various polarization degrees of the initial particles.
Hadron elementary particle measurements have long revealed an alpha-dependence in the long-lived threshold-state lifetimes, together with an alpha-related mass structure, where alpha ~ 1/137 is the fine structure constant. A detailed lifetime analysis shows that of the 156 particles with well-determined lifetimes, the 120 shortest lifetimes have a continuum of values, but the 36 longer lifetimes occur in alpha-spaced groups which are sorted into s, c, b quark flavors. Guided by these lifetime results, we deduce an alpha-generated set of universal mass quanta, based on the electron ground state…
We consider a class of leptogenesis models in which the lepton asymmetry arises from dark matter annihilation processes which violate CP and lepton number. Importantly, a necessary one-loop contribution to the annihilation matrix element arises from absorptive final state interactions. We elucidate the relationship between this one-loop contribution and the CP-violating phase. As we show, the branching fraction for dark matter annihilation to leptons may be small in these models, while still generating the necessary asymmetry.

Some extensions of the standard model contain additional leptons which are vectorlike under weak isospin. A class of models is considered in which these leptons do not appreciably mix with the known leptons. In such models, the heavy charged lepton and the heavy neutrino are degenerate in mass, and the degeneracy is broken by radiative corrections. The mass splitting is calculated and found to be very weakly dependent on the lepton mass, varying from 250 to 330 MeV as the mass varies from 100 to 800 GeV. This result is {\it not} affected significantly by inclusion in a supersymmetric model in …
We propose that the leptonic cosmic ray signals seen by PAMELA and ATIC result from the annihilation or decay of dark matter particles via states of a leptonic Higgs doublet to $τ$ leptons, linking cosmic ray signals of dark matter to LHC signals of the Higgs sector. The states of the leptonic Higgs doublet are lighter than about 200 GeV, yielding large $\barτ τ$ and $\barτ τ\barτ τ$ event rates at the LHC. Simple models are given for the dark matter particle and its interactions with the leptonic Higgs, for cosmic ray signals arising from both annihilations and decays in the galactic halo. Fo…
Particles with TeV mass and strong self-interactions generically have the right annihilation cross section to explain an observed excess of cosmic electrons and positrons if the end-product of the annihilation is charged leptons. We present an explicit model of strongly-coupled TeV-scale dark matter whose relic abundance related to the matter-antimatter asymmetry of the observed universe. The B - L asymmetry of the standard model is transfered to the dark sector by an operator carrying standard model lepton number. Lepton number violation naturally induces dark matter particle-antiparticle osc…
We propose to interpret the DAMPE electron excess at 1.5 TeV through scalar or Dirac fermion dark matter (DM) annihilation with doubly charged scalar mediators that have lepton-specific Yukawa couplings. Hierarchy of such lepton-specific Yukawa couplings is generated through the Froggatt-Nielsen mechanism, so that the dark matter annihilation products can be dominantly electrons. Stringent constraints from LEP2 on intermediate vector boson production can be evaded in our scenarios. In the case of scalar DM, we discuss one scenario with DM annihilating directly to leptons and the other scenario…
Imbalanced beauty-charmed baryons $ Ξ_{bc}^{+,0} $ are of great significance to the development of heavy flavor physics. In this work, we study the inclusive weak-annihilation decays of $Ξ_{bc}^{+,0}$ and their contributions to the $Ξ_{bc}^{+,0}$ lifetimes. For the calculation of the inclusive $Ξ_{bc}^{+,0}\to X_{cs}$ decay width where $X_{cs}$ stands for the sum of the final states with charm number +1 and strange number -1, we work in the heavy diquark effective theory which provides us with a convenient technical tool to construct the operator product expansion. The $Ξ_{bc}^{+,0}$ is consid…
We study the lifetimes of TeV-scale heavy neutral leptons (Majorana neutrinos) that appear in a model suggested by Okamura et al. [2]. We develop a convenient way to parametrize the neutrino mass texture of the model, and illustrate our method by calculating the mass spectrum, decay widths, and lifetimes of the heavy particles over the entire parameter space. From the mass spectrum, we find that for most of the parameter space, only two-body decays are relevant in the calculation of the lifetime, with typical values falling in the range of 10^(-26) to 10^(-24) seconds. If the particles discuss…
The Randall-Sundrum (RS) model with a small curvature is considered. The mass spectrum of Kaluza-Klein (KK) gravitons in such a scheme is similar (although not equivalent) to that in a model with one extra dimension in a flat metric. The gravity effects in the processes $e^+e^- \to e^+e^-$ and $e^+e^- \toμ^+μ^-$ at the collision energy 1 TeV are presented. Our calculations are based on the previously obtained formula for virtual graviton contributions which takes into account both a discrete character of the mass spectrum and nonzero widths of the KK gravitons.
The PAMELA, Fermi and HESS experiments (PFH) have shown anomalous excesses in the cosmic positron and electron fluxes. A very exciting possibility is that those excesses are due to annihilating dark matter (DM). In this paper we calculate constraints on leptonically annihilating DM using observational data on diffuse extragalactic gamma-ray background and measurements of the optical depth to the last-scattering surface, and compare those with the PFH favored region in the m_{DM} - <σ_A v> plane. Having specified the detailed form of the energy input with PYTHIA Monte Carlo tools we solve the r…
We discuss the decay of Bc mesons into two light mesons (pi, K^(*), eta', rho, omega, phi). All these decay channels come from a single type of diagram, namely tree annihilation. This allows us to derive extremely simple SU(3) relations among these processes. The size of annihilation contributions is an important issue in B physics, and we provide two different estimates in the case of non-leptonic charmless Bc decays, either a comparison with annihilation decays of heavy-light mesons or a perturbative model inspired by QCD factorisation. We finally discuss a possible search for these channels…
We compute the cross section for the electromagnetic annihilation into charged leptons, and the electromagnetic scattering off nucleons, of spin-3/2 self-conjugate (Majorana) particles using the general form of the electromagnetic vertex function that was obtained previously for such particles. In addition to the restrictions imposed by common principles such as electromagnetic gauge invariance and hermiticity, the vertex function incorporates the restriction due to the Majorana condition as well as the particular properties related to the spinors in the Rarita-Schwinger representation, and is…
If indirect detection searches are to be used to discriminate between dark matter particle models, it is crucial to understand the expected energy spectra of secondary particles such as neutrinos, charged antiparticles and gamma-rays emerging from dark matter annihilations in the local Universe. In this work we study the effect that both the choice of event generator and the polarisation of the final state particles can have on these predictions. For a variety of annihilation channels and dark matter masses, we compare yields obtained with Pythia8 and Herwig7 of all of the aforementioned secon…
Multistate dark matter (DM) models with small mass splittings and couplings to light hidden sector bosons have been proposed as an explanation for the PAMELA/Fermi/H.E.S.S. high-energy lepton excesses. We investigate this proposal over a wide range of DM density profiles, in the framework of concrete models with doublet or triplet dark matter and a hidden SU(2) gauge sector that mixes with standard model hypercharge. The gauge coupling is bounded from below by the DM relic density, and the Sommerfeld enhancement factor is explicitly computable for given values of the DM and gauge boson masses …
We consider a scalar dark matter annihilations to light leptons mediated by charged exotic fermions. The interaction of this model also adds a correction to dipole moments of light leptons. In the simplified model, these processes will depend upon the same coupling constants. The tight experimental bounds on the dipole moments of light leptons will constrain the coupling constants. Consequently, this bound will then limit the annihilations. We will produce this dipole moment bounds on the annihilation. From this analysis, we report that the bound on annihilation to the electrons is $4.0\times1…
We search for signals of Weak Annihilation in inclusive semileptonic D decays. We consider both the widths and the lepton energy moments, which are quite sensitive probes. Our analysis of Cleo data shows no clear evidence of Weak Annihilation, and allows us to put bounds on their relevance in charmless B semileptonic decays.
We reconsider Sommerfeld-enhanced annihilation of dark matter (DM) into leptons to explain PAMELA and Fermi electron and positron observations, in light of possible new effects from substructure. There is strong tension between getting a large enough lepton signal while respecting constraints on the fluxes of associated gamma rays. We first show that these constraints become significantly more stringent than in previous studies when the contributions from background e^+ e^- are taken into account, so much so that even cored DM density profiles are ruled out. We then show how DM annihilations w…
Within the QCD factorization approach we compute the amplitudes for annihilation channels of B mesons decays into final states containing two pseudoscalar particles. These decays may be plagued by effects like non-perturbative physics or breaking of the factorization hypothesis and imply, at some extent, the introduction of an infrared cutoff in the calculation of amplitudes. We compute the decays with the help of infrared finite gluon propagators and coupling constants that were obtained in different solutions of the QCD Schwinger-Dyson equations. These solutions yield a natural cutoff for th…
The optimal observables with the best ratio of signal to statistical uncertainty are proposed for a bunch of popular models of the $Z'$ boson. They are the cross sections integrated over the phase space of the final particles with proper weight functions. It is shown that the proposed observables are completely equivalent to the $χ^2$ fit of the differential cross section, so they could be used as an alternative of aggregating events into bins with further minimization of the $χ^2$ function, especially in preliminary analysis of experimental data. Application of the observables to the maximum …
We investigate a model where the dark matter particle is a chiral fermion field charged under a global $U(1)$ symmetry which is assumed to be spontaneously broken, leading to a pseudo-Goldstone boson (PGB). We argue that the dark matter annihilation into PGBs determine the dark matter relic abundance. Besides, we also note that experimental searches for PGBs allow either for a very long lived PGB, with a lifetime much longer than the age of the Universe, or a relatively short lived PGB, with a lifetime shorter than one minute. Hence, two different scenarios arise, producing very different sign…
A recent study of gamma-ray data from the Galactic Center motivates the investigation of light (~7-10 GeV) particle dark matter models featuring tau lepton pairs as dominant annihilation final state. The Lepton-Specific two-Higgs-doublet Model (2HDM-L) provides a natural framework where light, singlet scalar dark matter can pair-annihilate dominantly into tau leptons. We calculate the nucleon-dark matter cross section for singlet scalar dark matter within the 2HDM-L framework, and compare with recent results from direct detection experiments. We study how direct dark matter searches can be use…
Dark matter annihilation to leptons, $χχ\rightarrow l \bar{l}$, is necessarily accompanied by electroweak radiative corrections, in which a W or Z boson is radiated from a final state particle. Given that the W and Z gauge bosons decay dominantly via hadronic channels, it is thus impossible to produce final state leptons without accompanying protons, antiprotons, and gamma rays. Significantly, while many dark matter models feature a helicity suppressed annihilation rate to fermions, radiating a massive gauge boson from a final state fermion removes this helicity suppression, such that the bran…
We show that a Dirac right-handed scalar neutrino can be weakly interacting massive particle in the neutrinophilic Higgs model. When the additional Higgs fields couple only to the leptonic sector through neutrino Yukawa couplings, the right number of relic density of dark matter can be obtained from thermal freeze-out of the dark matter annihilation into charged leptons and neutrinos. At present, this annihilation is suppressed by the velocity of dark matter. However one-loop annihilation cross section into $γγ$ can be larger than that of the helicity suppressed annihilation into fermions, bec…
Recent measurements of cosmic-ray electron and positron fluxes by PAMELA and ATIC experiments may indicate the existence of annihilating dark matter with large annihilation cross section. We show that the dark matter annihilation in the big-bang nucleosynthesis epoch affects the light element abundances, and it gives stringent constraints on such annihilating dark matter scenarios for the case of hadronic annihilation. Constraints on leptonically annihilating dark matter models are less severer.
The formation of Ps in our Galaxy is well measured, and has led to important and unanswered questions on the origin of the positrons. In principle it should be possible to form analogous systems from mu and tau leptons, viz. true muonium and true tauonium. However the probability of formation for these systems is greatly reduced due to the intrinsically short lifetimes of the mu and tau leptons. Likewise, the decay of the atoms is hastened by the high probability of the constituent particles decaying. Nevertheless, if sufficient numbers of mu and tau pairs are produced in high energy astrophys…
We consider a new technique for neutrino energy and topology reconstruction at DUNE. In particular, we show that when the direction of the incoming neutrino is known, one can use the measured directions of the outgoing leptonic and hadronic particles to reconstruct poorly-measured quantities, such as the hadronic cascade energy. We show that this alternative technique yields an energy resolution which is comparable to current reconstruction methods which sum measured energies. As a proof of concept we apply this new reconstruction method to a search for dark matter annihilation in the Sun. We …
Recently, various cross sections of e+e- annihilation into hadrons were accurately measured in the energy range from 0.37 to 1.39 GeV with the CMD-2 detector at the VEPP-2M collider. In the pi+pi- channel a systematic uncertainty of 0.6% has been achieved. A Monte-Carlo Generator Photon Jets (MCGPJ) was developed to simulate events of the Bhabha scattering as well as production of two charged pions, kaons and muons. Based on the formalism of Structure Functions, the leading logarithmic contributions related to the emission of photon jets in the collinear region are incorporated into the MC gen…
We revisit the calculation of electroweak bremsstrahlung contributions to dark matter annihilation. Dark matter annihilation to leptons is necessarily accompanied by electroweak radiative corrections, in which a $W$ or $Z$ boson is also radiated. Significantly, while many dark matter models feature a helicity suppressed annihilation rate to fermions, bremsstrahlung process can remove this helicity suppression such that the branching ratios Br($\ell νW $), Br($\ell^+\ell^-Z$), and Br($\barννZ$) dominate over Br($\ell^+\ell^-$) and Br($\barνν$). We find this is most significant in the limit wher…
We study the process e^+ e^- -> chi^0_1 chi^0_2 and the subsequent decay chi^0_2 -> chi^0_1 l^{+} l^{-}$ with polarized beams, including the complete spin correlations of chi^0_2$. We present numerical results for the lepton energy and angular distributions, and for the distribution of the opening angle between the leptons for sqrt{s}=500 GeV. The effects of spin correlations are important in the lepton angular distribution, especially for gaugino-like neutralinos. The opening angle distribution is particularly suitable for distinguishing between higgsino- and gaugino-like neutralinos. The pol…
Galaxy clusters are promising targets for indirect dark matter searches. Gamma-ray signatures from the decay or annihilation of dark matter particles inside these clusters could be observable with the Fermi Large Area Telescope (LAT). Based on three years of Fermi LAT gamma-ray data, we analyze the flux coming from eight nearby clusters individually as well as in a combined likelihood analysis. Concentrating mostly on signals from dark matter decay, we take into account uncertainties of the cluster masses as determined by X-ray observations and model the cluster emission as extended sources. S…

We point out that there are regions in the MSSM parameter space which successfully provide a dark matter (DM) annihilation explanation for observed positron excess (e.g. PAMELA), while still remaining in agreement with all other data sets. Such regions (e.g. the uplifted Higgs region) can realize an enhanced neutralino DM annihilation dominantly into leptons via a Breit-Wigner resonance through the CP-odd Higgs channel. Such regions can give the proper thermal relic DM abundance, and the DM annihilation products are compatible with current antiproton and gamma ray observations. This scenario c…
In supersymmetric theories with R-parity breaking, sleptons can be produced in quark-antiquark annihilation at the Tevatron through interactions in which two quark fields are coupled to a slepton field. If at the same time trilinear slepton-lepton-lepton couplings are present, the sleptons can be searched for as resonances in $p\bar{p}\to \tildeν \to l^+l^-$ and $\tildeτ\to lν$ final states. Existing Tevatron data can be exploited to derive bounds on the Yukawa couplings of sleptons to quark and lepton pairs. Similar bounds can also be obtained from $e^+e^-$ annihilation to hadrons at LEP2.
