It is shown that the polarizations of the final particles in $μ^+\to e^+e^-e^+$ provide us with information on the CP-violating phases of the effective Lagrangian leading to this Lepton Flavor Violating (LFV) decay.
A Window on the CP-violating Phases of MSSM from Lepton Flavor Violating Processes
最近的研究表明,通过测量LFV过程$μ\to eγ$、$μ\to eee$和$μN\to e N$中最终粒子的横向极化,可以得到关于基础理论的CP破坏相的信息。

Measuring the CP-violating phase by a long base-line neutrino experiment with Hyper-Kamiokande
We study the sensitivity of a long-base-line (LBL) experiment with neutrino beams from the High Intensity Proton Accelerator (HIPA), that delivers 10^{21} POT per year, and a proposed 1Mt water-Cherenkov detector, Hyper-Kamiokande (HK) 295km away from the HIPA, to the CP phase ( delta_{M N S} ) of the three-flavor lepton mixing matrix. We examine a combination of the nu_mu narrow-band beam (NBB) at two different energies, vev{p_pi}=2, 3GeV, and the bar{nu}_mu NBB at vev{p_pi}=2GeV. By allocating one year each for the two nu_mu beams and four years for the bar{nu}_mu beam, we can efficiently me…
In this paper we consider CP-violating new-physics contributions to the decay $t \to b \bar b c$. We examine the prospects for detecting such new physics at the LHC, which requires studying the process $gg \to t (\to b \bar b c) \bar t (\to \bar b \ell \bar ν)$. We find two observables that can be used to reveal the presence of CP-violating new physics in $t \to b \bar b c$. They are (i) the partial-rate asymmetry and (ii) the triple-product correlations involving the momenta of various particles associated with the interaction. A Monte Carlo analysis is performed to determine how well these o…
One of the outstanding problems in physics is to explain the baryon-anti-baryon asymmetry observed in nature. According to the well-known Sakharov criterion for explaining the observed asymmetry, it is essential that $CP$ violation exist. Even though $CP$ violation has been observed in meson decays and is an integral part of the standard model (SM), measurements in meson decays indicate that $CP$ violation in the SM is insufficient to explain the observed baryon-anti-baryon asymmetry. SM predicts the existence of yet to be observed $CP$ violation in baryon decays. A critical test of the SM req…
The Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model (NMSSM) features extra new sources for CP violation. In contrast to the MSSM CP violation can already occur at tree level in the Higgs sector. We investigate the range of possible allowed CP-violating phases by taking into account the constraints arising from the measurements of the Electric Dipole Moments (EDMs) and the latest LHC Higgs data. Our analysis shows that large CP-violating phases, that are NMSSM-specific, are not in conflict with the EDMs. They are dominantly constrained by the Higgs data in this case. We use our r…
Non-unitary neutrino mixing implies an extra CP violating phase that can fake the leptonic Dirac CP phase $δ_{CP}$ of the simplest three-neutrino mixing benchmark scheme. This would hinder the possibility of probing for CP violation in accelerator-type experiments. We take T2K and T2HK as examples to demonstrate the degeneracy between the "standard" (or "unitary") and "non-unitary" CP phases. We find, under the assumption of non-unitary mixing, that their CP sensitivities severely deteriorate. Fortunately, the TNT2K proposal of supplementing T2(H)K with a $μ$DAR source for better measurement o…
Time-dependent studies of inclusive charm decays to multibody self-conjugate final states can be used to determine the indirect $CP$-violating observable $A_Γ$ and the mixing observable $y_{CP}$, provided that the fractional $CP$-even content of the final state, $F_+$, is known. This approach can yield significantly improved sensitivity compared with the conventional method that relies on decays to $CP$ eigenstates. In particular, $D \to π^+π^-π^0$ appears to be an especially powerful channel, given its relatively large branching fraction and the high value of $F_+$ that has recently been meas…
CP-violation in the Higgs sector remains a possible source of the baryon asymmetry of the universe. Recent differential measurements of signed angular distributions in Higgs boson production provide a general experimental probe of the CP structure of Higgs boson interactions. We interpret these measurements using the Standard Model Effective Field Theory and show that they do not distinguish the various CP-violating operators that couple the Higgs and gauge fields. However, the constraints can be sharpened by measuring additional CP-sensitive observables and exploiting phase-space-dependent ef…
A channelled particle, which moves in a crystal, alongside with electromagnetic interaction also experiences weak interaction with electrons and nuclei, as well as strong interaction with nuclei. Measurements of polarization vector and angular distribution of particles scattered by axes (planes) of unbent crystal enable to obtain limits for the EDM value and for values of constants describing P- and T-odd interactions. The same measurements also allow studying magnetic dipole moment of charged and neutral particles. Investigation of left-right asymmetry by the use of two unbent crystals makes …
Parity violating interactions in the early Universe can source a stochastic gravitational wave background (SGWB) with a net circular polarization. In this paper, we study possible ways to search for circular polarization of the SGWB with interferometers. Planar detectors are unable to measure the net circular polarization of an isotropic SGWB. We discuss the possibility of using the dipolar anisotropy kinematically induced by the motion of the solar system with respect to the cosmic reference frame to measure the net circular polarization of the SGWB with planar detectors. We apply this approa…
