We have examined in detail the nonrestoration of symmetry at high temperature in a finite-temperature Littlest Higgs model, without and with T-parity, by evaluating the one-loop-order finite-temperature integrals of the effective potential numerically, without the high-temperature approximation, We observe that in the model without T-parity it is not possible to find a transition temperature within the allowed temperature range of the model (0<T<4f) if the UV completion factors are those which give the Standard Model electroweak minimum, as the effective potential always increases with temperature in the positive direction. However, in the case of the model with T-parity, it is possible to find a transition temperature with the same set of UV completion factors, as, with the increase of temperature, the effective potential decreases in magnitude in the positive side, becomes negative, and increases in magnitude in the negative side, indicating symmetry breaking at high temperature. This type of symmetry nonrestoration at high temperature has been observed earlier in some models involving pseudo Nambu-Goldstone bosons. The behaviour of the global structure of the effective potential with T-parity in the theory indicates a strong first order electroweak phase transition, conducive to baryogenesis in the early universe.
We present in this talk the one-loop electroweak precision constraints in the Littlest Higgs model, including the logarithmically enhanced contributions from both fermion and scalar loops. We find the one-loop contributions are comparable to the tree level corrections in some regions of parameter space. A low cutoff scale is allowed for a non-zero triplet VEV. Constraints on various other parameters in the model are also discussed. The role of triplet scalars in constructing a consistent renormalization scheme is emphasized.
We study the heavy neutral scalar decays into standard model electroweak gauge bosons in the context of the Littlest Higgs model. We focus our attention on the $Φ^0 \to WW, γV$ processes induced at the one-loop level, with $V=γ, Z$. Since the branching ratios of the $Φ^0 \to γV$ decays result very suppressed, only the $Φ^0 \to WW$ process is analyzed in the framework of possible experimental scenarios by using heavy scalar masses between 1.6 TeV until 3.3 TeV. The branching ratio for the $Φ^0 \to WW$ decay is of the order of $10^{-3}$ throughout the interval 2 TeV $< f <$ 4 TeV, which represen…
We compute the leading corrections to the properties of W and Z bosons induced at the one-loop level in the SU(5)/SO(5) Littlest Higgs model with T parity, and perform a global fit to precision electroweak data to determine the constraints on the model parameters. We find that a large part of the model parameter space is consistent with data. Values of the symmetry breaking scale as low as 500 GeV are allowed, indicating that no significant fine tuning in the Higgs potential is required. We identify a region within the allowed parameter space in which the lightest T-odd particle, the partner o…
Little Higgs Models have been introduced to resolve the fine-tuning problems associated with the stability of the electroweak scale and the constraints imposed by the precision electroweak analysis of experiments testing the Standard Model of particle physics. Flavor physics provides a sensitive probe of the new physics contained in these models at next-to-leading order.
In the SU(5)/SO(5) little Higgs models radiative corrections give rise to the SU(2)_L x U(1)_Y symmetry breaking. In this work we start a program for a detailed determination of the relevant terms of the Higgs effective potential by computing the contribution of the b, t and T quarks at the one-loop level, as an starting point for higher-loops computation. In spite of the fact that some two-loop level contributions are well known to be important, we use our preliminary one-loop result to illustrate that, by demanding the effective potential to reproduce exactly the Standard Model Higgs potenti…
We study electroweak baryogenesis within the framework of the littlest Higgs model with T parity. This model has shown characteristics of a strong first-order electroweak phase transition, which is conducive to baryogenesis in the early Universe. In the T parity symmetric theory, there are two gauge sectors, viz., the T-even and the T-odd ones. We observe that the effect of the T-parity symmetric interactions between the T-odd and the T-even gauge bosons on gauge-higgs energy functional is quite small, so that these two sectors can be taken to be independent. The T-even gauge bosons behave lik…
Little Higgs models offer an interesting approach to weakly coupled electroweak symmetry breaking without fine tuning. The original little Higgs models were plagued by strong constraints from electroweak precision data which required a fine tuning to be reintroduced. An economical solution to this problem is to introduce a discrete symmetry (analogous to R-parity of SUSY) called T-parity. T-parity not only eliminates most constraints from electroweak precision data, but it also leads to a promising dark matter candidate. In this paper we investigate the dark matter candidate in the littlest Hi…
In this work we calculate the leading electroweak (EW) corrections to the anomalous $gt\bar{t}$ coupling in the Littlest Higgs model with T-parity (LHT), by applying the Goldstone boson equivalence theorem. In the LHT model, such electroweak corrections arise from the loop diagrams of heavy fermions and the ``would-be'' Goldstone bosons. We further examine the EW corrections in the top quark pair production via the quark annihilation process at the LHC. The negative EW corrections in the Standard Model are partially canceled by the positive EW corrections from the loops of the new heavy partic…
We study the dynamics of electroweak bubbles in the scenario of a strong first order inverse electroweak phase transition at the TeV scale involving the global structure of the nonlinear sigma field in the littlest Higgs model with T parity. Employing the one-loop order finite temperature effective potential, we find that the pressure in the symmetric phase i.e., inside the bubble is always greater than that in the asymmetric phase i.e., outside the bubble, so that the bubbles are expanding. By calculating the fluid velocities in the two phases we arrive at the condition of a supersonic deflag…
Little Higgs models are an interesting alternative to explain electroweak symmetry breaking without fine-tuning. Supplemented with a discrete symmetry (T-parity) constraints from electroweak precision data are naturally evaded and also a viable dark matter candidate is obtained. T-parity implies the existence of new (mirror) fermions in addition to the heavy gauge bosons of the little Higgs models. In this paper we consider the effects of the mirror fermions on the phenomenology of the littlest Higgs model with T-parity at the LHC. We study the most promising production channels and decay chai…
Little Higgs models - which can most easily be thought of as a variant of composite Higgs models - explain a light Higgs boson at 125 GeV as an pseudo-Nambu-Goldstone boson of a spontaneously broken global symmetry. The mechanism of collective symmetry breaking shifts the UV scale of these models to the 10 TeV scale and higher. T-parity is introduced as a discrete symmetry to remove tree-level constraints on the electroweak precision data. Still after run 1 of LHC, electroweak precision observables gave stronger constraints than Higgs data and direct searches. We present a full recast of all a…
The production of single and doubly charged Higgs bosons associated with standard model gauge boson $Z_L$ in $e^{+}e^{-}$ colliders are examined. The sensitivity of these processes on the littlest Higgs model parameters in the range of compatibility with electroweak precision observables are analyzed. The possibility of detecting lepton flavor violation processes are also discussed.
Little Higgs models often feature spontaneously broken extra global symmetries, which must also be explicitly broken in order to avoid massless Goldstone modes in the spectrum. We show that a possible conflict with collective symmetry breaking then implies light modes coupled to the Higgs boson, leading to interesting phenomenology. Moreover, spontaneous CP violation is quite generic in such cases, as the explicit breaking may be used to stabilize physical CP odd phases in the vacuum. We demonstrate this in an SU(2) \times SU(2) \times U(1) variant of the Littlest Higgs, as well as in an origi…
We compute the relevant parameters of the combined Higgs and ϕscalar effective potential in the Littlest Higgs (LH) model. These parameters are obtained as the sum of two kind of contributions. The first one is the one-loop radiative corrections coming from fermions and gauge bosons. The second one is obtained at the tree level from the higher order effective operators needed for the ultraviolet completion of the model. Finally we analyze the restrictions that the requirement of reproducing the standard electroweak symmetry breaking of the SM set on the LH model parameters.
Little Higgs models provide a natural explanation of the little hierarchy between the electroweak scale and a few TeV scale, where new physics is expected. Under the same inspiring naturalness arguments, this work completes a previous study on lepton flavor-changing processes in the Littlest Higgs model with T-parity exploring the channel that will eventually turn out to be the most sensitive, μ-e conversion in nuclei. All one-loop contributions are carefully taken into account, results for the most relevant nuclei are provided and a discussion of the influence of the quark mixing is included.…
The littlest Higgs model is the most economical one among various little Higgs models. In the context of the littlest Higgs model, we study the process $e^{+}e^{-}\to e^{+}e^{-}H$ at the ILC and calculate the correction of the littlest Higgs model to the cross section of this process. The results show that, in the favorable parameter spaces preferred by the electroweak precision data, the value of the relative correction is in the range from a few percent to tens percent. In most case, the correction is large enough to reach the measurement precision of the ILC. Therefore, the correction of th…
In this work, the production processes of heavy neutral scalar and pseudo scalar associated with standard model gauge boson $Z_L$ at future $e^{+}e^{-}$ colliders (ILC and CLIC) are examined. The total and differential cross sections are calculated for the processes in the context of the littlest Higgs model. Also dependence of production processes to littlest Higgs model parameters in the range of compatibility with electroweak precision measurements and decays to lepton flavor violating final states are analyzed. We have found that both heavy scalar and pseudoscalar will be produced in $e^+e…
We study the exact (one-loop) effective potential of the littlest Higgs model and determine the dependence of physical quantities, such as the vacuum expectation value v_W and mass m_h of the Higgs boson, on the fundamental parameters of the Lagrangian--masses, couplings of new states, the fundamental scale f of the sigma model, and the coefficients of operators quadratically sensitive to the cutoff of the theory. On the one hand, we show that it is possible to have the electroweak ground state and a relatively large cutoff Λ= 4πf with f in the 2 TeV range without requiring unnaturally small c…
In the parameter space allowed by the electroweak precision measurement data, we consider the contributions of the new particles predicted by the littlest Higgs($LH$) model to the Higgs boson associated production with top quark pair in the future high energy linear $e^{+}e^{-}$ collider($ILC$). We find that the contributions mainly come from the new gauge bosons $Z_{H}$ and $B_{H}$. For reasonable values of the free parameters, the absolute value of the relative correction parameter $δσ/σ^{SM}$ can be significanly large, which might be observed in the future $ILC$ experiment with $\sqrt{S}=80…
In this note, a ``littlest higgs'' model is presented which has an approximate custodial SU(2) symmetry. The model is based on the coset space $SO(9)/(SO(5)\times SO(4))$. The light pseudo-goldstone bosons of the theory include a {\it single} higgs doublet below a TeV and a set of three $SU(2)_W$ triplets and an electroweak singlet in the TeV range. All of these scalars obtain approximately custodial SU(2) preserving vacuum expectation values. This model addresses a defect in the earlier $SO(5)\times SU(2)\times U(1)$ moose model, with the only extra complication being an extended top sector. …
Flavour changing neutral current processes, being strongly suppressed in the Standard Model (SM), provide a unique window to new physics at scales much above the electroweak scale. Here, we summarize the recent progress in flavour physics studies of the Littlest Higgs model with T-parity, both in the quark and lepton sector. Particular emphasis is put on various correlations that could distinguish this model from other extensions of the SM.
The littlest Higgs model with T-parity (LHT) has new flavor-changing (FC) couplings with the Standard Model (SM) quarks, which do not suffer strong constraints from electroweak precision data. So these FC interactions may enhance the cross sections of some flavor-changing neutral-current (FCNC) processes. In this work, we study the FC top-charm associated productions via $e^{-}γ$ collision at the ILC. We find that the cross sections are sensitive to the mirror quark masses. With reasonable values of the parameters, the cross sections may reach the detectable level and provide useful informatio…
The physics prospect at future linear $e^{+}e^{-}$ colliders for the study of the Higgs triple self-coupling via the process of $e^{+}e^{-}\to ZHH$ is investigated. In this paper, we calculate the contribution of the new particles predicted by the littlest Higgs model to the cross sections of this process in the future high energy $e^{+}e^{-}$ collider($ILC$). The results show that, in the favorable parameter spaces preferred by the electroweak precision, the deviation of the total cross sections from its $SM$ value varies from a few percent to tens percent, which may be detected at the future…
In the context of the littlest Higgs(LH) model, we study single production of the new gauge bosons $B_{H}$, $Z_{H}$ and $W_{H}^{\pm}$ via $e^{-}γ$ collisions and discuss the possibility of detecting these new particles in the $TeV$ energy $e^{+}e^{-}$ collider($LC$). We find that these new particles can not be detected via the $e^{-}νν$ signal in all of the parameter space preferred by the electroweak precision data. However, the heavy gauge bosons $B_{H}$ and $Z_{H}$ may be observed via the decay channel $B_{H}(Z_{H})\to l^{+}l^{-}$ in wide range of the parameter space.
In Little Higgs models a collective symmetry prevents the Higgs from acquiring a quadratically divergent mass at one loop. This collective symmetry is broken by weakly gauged interactions. Terms, like Yukawa couplings, that display collective symmetry in the bare Lagrangian are generically renormalized into a sum of terms that do not respect the collective symmetry except possibly at one renormalization point where the couplings are related so that the symmetry is restored. We study here the one loop renormalization of a prototypical example, the Littlest Higgs Model. Some features of the reno…
We present an economical theory of natural electroweak symmetry breaking, generalizing an approach based on deconstruction. This theory is the smallest extension of the Standard Model to date that stabilizes the electroweak scale with a naturally light Higgs and weakly coupled new physics at TeV energies. The Higgs is one of a set of pseudo Goldstone bosons in an $SU(5)/SO(5)$ nonlinear sigma model. The symmetry breaking scale $f$ is around a TeV, with the cutoff $Λ\lsim 4πf \sim $ 10 TeV. A single electroweak doublet, the ``little Higgs'', is automatically much lighter than the other pseudo G…
Motivated by the recent precision measurements of the W boson mass and top quark mass, we test the Littlest Higgs model by confronting the prediction of M_W with the current and prospective measurements of M_W and M_t as well as through the correlation among M_W, M_t and Higgs mass. We argue that the current values and accuracy of M_W and M_t measurements tend to favor the Littlest Higgs model over the standard model, although the most recent electroweak data may appear to be consistent with the standard model prediction. In this analysis, the upper bound on the global SU(5) symmetry breaking …
In this work we study associated production of heavy Z boson and heavy top quark in the framework of Littlest Higgs model at e^-e^+ colliders considering parameter space allowed by the electroweak precision measurments. According to the free parameters of the model the possibility of detecting of new heavy particles at sqrt{s}=3 TeV and yearly integrated luminosity of L=500 fb^-1 are discussed. We find that in a narrow range of the parameter space, s/s'=0.8/0.6,0.7, 0.4 <= x_L <= 0.6 and f <~1060 GeV, a statical significance of 5 sigma can be achieved. We also discuss constraints on masses of …
The new colored vector-like heavy fermion $T$ is a crucial prediction in little Higgs models, which plays a key role in breaking the electroweak symmetry. The littlest Higgs model is the most economical one among various little Higgs models. In the context of the littlest Higgs model, we study single production of the new heavy vector-like quark via $e^{-}γ$ collisions and discuss the possibility of detecting this new particle in the TeV energy $e^{+}e^{-}$ collider(LC). We find that the production cross section can vary in a wide range($10^{-3}-10^{1}fb$) in most parameter spaces. For the fav…
The littlest Higgs model is the most economical one among various little Higgs models. In the context of the littlest Higgs(LH) model, we study the process $e^{-}γ\to ν_{e}W^{-}H$ and calculate the contributions of the LH model to the cross section of this process. The results show that, in most of parameter spaces preferred by the electroweak precision data, the value of the relative correction is larger than 10%. Such correction to the process $e^{-}γ\to ν_{e}W^{-}H$ is large enough to be detected via $e^{-}γ$ collisions in the future high energy linear $e^{+}e^{-}$ collider($LC$) experiment…
Motivated by the recent LHC Higgs data and null results in searches for any new physics, we investigate the Higgs couplings and naturalness in the littlest Higgs model with T-parity. By performing the global fit of the latest Higgs data, electroweak precise observables and $R_{b}$ measurements, we find that the scale $f$ can be excluded up to 600 GeV at $2σ$ confidence level. The expected Higgs coupling measurements at the future collider TLEP will improve this lower limit to above 3 TeV. Besides, the top parnter mass $m_{T_{+}}$ can be excluded up to 880 GeV at $2σ$ confidence level. The futu…
Little Higgs theories are a fascinating new idea to solve the little hierarchy problem by stabilizing the Higgs mass against one-loop quadratically divergent radiative corrections. In this talk I give a brief overview of the idea, focusing mainly on the littlest Higgs model, and present a sampling of the electroweak precision constraints.
The Littlest Higgs model with T-parity is providing an attractive solution to the fine-tuning problem. This solution is only entirely natural if its intrinsic symmetry breaking scale f is relatively close to the electroweak scale. We examine the constraints using the latest results from the 8 TeV run at the LHC. Both direct searches and Higgs precision physics are taken into account. The constraints from Higgs couplings are by now competing with electroweak precision tests and both combined exclude f up to 694 GeV or 560 GeV depending on the implementation of the down-type Yukawa sector. Direc…
We construct T-parity invariant extensions of the littlest Higgs model, in which only linear representations of the full symmetry group are employed, without recourse to the non-linear representations introduced by Coleman, Callan, Wess, and Zumino (CCWZ). These models are based on the symmetry breaking pattern SU(5)_l x H_r / SO(5), where H_r can be SO(5) or other larger symmetry groups. The structure of the models in the SU(5)_l sector is identical to the littlest Higgs model based on SU(5)/SO(5). Since the full symmetry group is realized linearly, these models can be thought of as possible …
We study the invisible decay of the Higgs boson into a pair of stable, heavy photons, H -> A_H A_H, in the littlest Higgs model with T-parity. For a symmetry breaking scale of f = 450 GeV, the branching ratio H -> A_H A_H can be as high as 93% for Higgs masses below 150 GeV. For f = 500 GeV, the invisible branching ratio is about 75% in the Higgs mass range 135 - 150 GeV and 10 (5.5)% for m_H = 200 (600) GeV. It drops to a few percent for f larger than 600 GeV. We have found regions in parameter space, allowed by the electroweak precision data, with such low values of f for 115 GeV < m_H < 650…
We show that there are regions in the parameter space of the Littlest Higgs model with T-parity, allowed by electroweak precision data, where the Higgs boson can decay invisibly into a pair of heavy photons A_H with a substantial branching ratio. For a symmetry breaking scale f in the range 450-600 GeV, the BR(H -> A_H A_H) can be up to 95% for an intermediate mass Higgs, and from 20% down to a few percents for a Higgs boson of mass 200 GeV or above. The total decay width of the Higgs boson can thereby be enhanced by an order of magnitude compared to the Standard Model for Higgs masses around …
The littlest Higgs model is the most economical little Higgs model. The observation of the new gauge bosons predicted by the littlest Higgs model could serve as a robust signature of the model. The ILC, with the high energy and luminosity, can open an ideal window to probe these new gauge bosons, specially, the lightest $B_H$. In the framework of the littlest Higgs model, we study a gauge boson $B_{H}$ production process $γγ\to W^{+}W^{-}B_H$. The study shows that the cross section of the process can vary in a wide range($10^{-1}-10^1$ fb) in most parameter spaces preferred by the electroweak …
Recently proposed Little Higgs models present a viable solution to the naturalness problem of the Standard Model. An additional discrete symmetry, called T-parity, has been included in the simplest Little Higgs models to evade the constraints arising from electroweak precision data. The Littlest Higgs model with T-parity (LHT) not only predicts a set of new fermions in addition to the heavy gauge bosons of the original Little Higgs model, but also provides a new candidate for dark matter. In this paper, we study two particularly interesting signatures of T-odd fermion pair production at the LH…
We study the Littlest Higgs model with T-parity at the LHC through pair productions of the T-odd top quark partner (T_-) which decays into the top quark and the lightest T-odd particle. We identify the region of parameters favored by the electroweak and cosmological considerations. The signal and background events are simulated with fast detector simulation to study the discovery potential at the LHC. We find that the hemisphere analysis recently proposed by the CMS collaboration is very useful to separate the signal from the t\bar{t} background. We discuss the observability of the top tagged …
The littlest Higgs (LH) model predicts the existence of the new gauge bosons $Z'$ and $B'$. We calculate the contributions of these new particles to the processes $e^{+}e^{-}\to\bar{f}f$ with $f=τ, μ, b,$ or $c$ and study the possibility of detecting these new particles via these processes in the future high-energy linear $e^{+}e^{-}$ collider (LC) experiments with $\sqrt{s}=500GeV$ and $£_{int}=340fb^{-1}$. We find that, with reasonable values of the parameter preferred by the electroweak precision data, the possible signals of these new particles might be detected. The $Z'$ mass $M_{Z'}$ can…
We discuss spontaneously broken CP symmetry in two right-handed neutrino models based on the idea of having a {\it different residual flavour symmetry}, together with a {\it different residual CP symmetry}, associated with each of the two right-handed neutrinos. The charged lepton sector also has a {\it different residual flavour symmetry}. In such a {\it tri-direct CP approach}, we show that the combination of the three residual flavour and two residual CP symmetries provides a new way of fixing the parameters. To illustrate the approach, we revisit the Littlest Seesaw (LSS) model based on $S…
In the framework of the littlest Higgs($LH$) model, we consider the processes $e^{+}e^{-}\toν\barνH^{0}$ and $e^{+}e^{-}\to W^{*}W^{*}ν\barν\toν\barνt\bar{t}$, and calculate the contributions of new particles to the cross sections of these processes in the future high energy $e^{+}e^{-}$ collider($ILC$) with $\sqrt{S}=1TeV$. We find that, with reasonable values of the free parameters, the deviations of the cross sections for the processes $e^{+}e^{-}\toν\barνH^{0}$ from its $SM$ value might be comparable to the future $ILC$ measurement precision. The contributions of the light Higgs boson $H^0…
The neutral gauge boson $B_H$ with the mass of hundreds GeV, is the lightest particle predicted by the littlest Higgs(LH) model, and such particle should be the first signal of the LH model at the planed ILC if it exists indeed. In this paper, we study some processes of the $B_H$ production associated with the fermion pair at the ILC, i.e., $γγ\to f\bar{f}B_{H}$. The studies show that the most promising processes to detect $B_H$ among $γγ\to f\bar{f}B_{H}$ are $γγ\to l'^+l'^-B_{H}(l'=e,μ)$, and they can produce the sufficient signals in most parameter space preferred by the electroweak precisi…
The littlest Higgs model with discrete symmetry named "T-parity"(LHT) is an interesting new physics model which does not suffer strong constraints from electroweak precision data. One of the important features of the LHT model is the existence of new source of FC interactions between the SM fermions and the mirror fermions. These FC interactions can make significant loop-level contributions to the couplings $tcV$, and furthermore enhance the cross sections of the FC single-top quark production processes. In this paper, we study some FC single-top quark production processes, $pp\to t\bar{c}$ an…
Little Higgs models offer a new way to address the hierarchy problem, and give rise to a weakly-coupled Higgs sector. These theories predict the existence of new states which are necessary to cancel the quadratic divergences of the Standard Model. The simplest version of these models, the Littlest Higgs, is based on an $SU(5)/SO(5)$ non-linear sigma model and predicts that four new gauge bosons, a weak isosinglet quark, $t'$, with $Q=2/3$, as well as an isotriplet scalar field exist at the TeV scale. We consider the contributions of these new states to precision electroweak observables, and ex…
In the context of the littlest Higgs$(LH)$ model, we study the process $ e^{+}e^{-}\to t\bar{t}$. We find that the new gauge bosons $Z_{H}$ and $B_{H}$ can produce significant correction effects on this process, which can be further enhanced by the suitably polarized beams. In most of the parameter space preferred by the electroweak precision data, the absolute value of the relative correction parameter $R_{B_{H}}$ is larger than 5%. As long as $1TeV\leq M_{Z_{H}}\leq 1.5TeV$ and $0.3\leq c\leq 0.5,$ the absolute value of the relative correction parameter $R_{Z_{H}}$ is larger than 5%. With re…
We calculate loop induced lepton flavor violating Higgs decays in the Littlest Higgs model with T-parity. We find that a finite amplitude is obtained only when all contributions from the T-odd lepton sector are included. This is in contrast to lepton flavor violating processes mediated by gauge bosons where the partners of the right-handed mirror leptons can be decoupled from the spectrum. These partners are necessary to cancel the divergence in the Higgs mass introduced by the mirror leptons but are otherwise unnecessary and assumed to be decoupled in previous phenomenological studies. Furthe…
We analyze rare K and B decays in the Littlest Higgs (LH) model without T-parity. We find that the final result for the Z^0-penguin contribution contains a divergence that is generated by the one-loop radiative corrections to the currents corresponding to the dynamically broken generators. Including an estimate of these logarithmically enhanced terms, we calculate the branching ratios for the decays K^+ -> pi^+ nu bar nu, K_L -> pi^0 nu bar nu, B_{s,d} -> mu^+ mu^- and B -> X_{s,d} nu bar nu. We find that for the high energy scale f=O(2-3) TeV, as required by the electroweak precision studies,…
There is a recent proposal of identifying the Higgs particle of the Standard Model as a pseudo Nambu-Goldstone boson. This new broken symmetry introduces new particles and new interactions. Among these new interactions a central role to get a new physics is played by the new neutral gauge boson. We have studied the new neutral currents in the Littlest Higgs model and compared with other extended models. For high energy $e^+ + e^-$ colliders we present a clear signature for new neutral gauge bosons that can indicate the theoretical origin of these particles. Previous analysis by other authors w…
The new lightest gauge boson $B_H$ with mass of a few hundred GeV is predicted in the littlest Higgs model. $B_H$ should be accessible in the planed ILC and the observation of such particle can strongly support the littlest Higgs model. The realization of $γγ$ and $eγ$ collision will open a wider window to probe $B_H$. In this paper, we study the new gauge boson $B_{H}$ production processes $e^{-}γ\to e^{-}γB_{H}$ and $e^{-}γ\to e^{-}Z B_{H}$ at the ILC. Our results show that the production cross section of the process $e^{-}γ\to e^{-}Z B_{H}$ is less than one fb in the most parameter spaces w…
We show how a minimal (littlest) seesaw model involving two right-handed neutrinos and a very constrained Dirac mass matrix, with one texture zero and two independent Dirac masses, may arise from $S_4\times U(1)$ symmetry in a semi-direct supersymmetric model. The resulting CSD3 form of neutrino mass matrix only depends on two real mass parameters plus one undetermined phase. We show how the phase may be fixed to be one of the cube roots of unity by extending the $S_4\times U(1)$ symmetry to include a product of $Z_3$ factors together with a CP symmetry, which is spontaneously broken leaving a…
We implement the SU(5)/SO(5) littlest Higgs theory in a slice of 5D Anti-de Sitter space bounded by a UV brane and an IR brane. In this model, there is a bulk SU(5) gauge symmetry that is broken to SO(5) on the IR brane, and the Higgs boson is contained in the Goldstones from this breaking. All of the interactions on the IR brane preserve the global symmetries that protect the Higgs mass, but a radiative potential is generated through loops that stretch to the UV brane where there are explicit SU(5) violating boundary conditions. Like the original littlest Higgs, this model exhibits collective…
A detailed study of the high temperature dynamics of the scalar sector of Little Higgs scenarios, proposed to stabilize the electroweak scale, shows that the electroweak gauge symmetry remains broken even at temperatures much larger than the electroweak scale. Although we give explicit results for a particular modification of the Littlest Higgs model, we expect that the main features are generic. As a spin-off, we introduce a novel way of dealing with scalar fluctuations in nonlinear sigma models, which might be of interest for phenomenological applications.
There is a recent proposal identifying the Higgs particle of the Standard Model as a pseudo Nambu-Goldstone boson. This new broken symmetry introduces new particles and new interactions. Among these new interactions a central role to get a new physics is played by two new heavy neutral gauge bosons. We have studied the two new neutral currents in the Littlest Higgs model and compared with other extended models. For high energy e+e- colliders we present a clear signature for these two new neutral gauge bosons that can indicate the theoretical origin of these particles. Previous analysis by othe…
The static electromagnetic properties of the $W$ boson, $Δκ$ and $ΔQ$, are calculated in the T-parity and non T-parity littlest Higgs model (LHM) including terms up to the order of $(v/f)^4$, with $v$ the standard model (SM) vacuum expectation value and $f$ the scale of the global symmetry breaking. There are contributions from the virtual effects of the new heavy particles and also from the new corrections to the SM vertices, which depend on the mixing parameter $c$ and decrease quickly as $f$ increases. Depending on the value of $c$, the partial contributions to $Δκ$ and $ΔQ$ can add constru…
We inspect the Littlest Higgs model with T-parity, based on a global symmetry SU(5) spontaneously broken to SO(5), in order to elucidate the pathologies it presents due to the non trivial interplay between the gauge invariance associated to the heavy modes and the discrete T-parity symmetry. In particular, the usual Yukawa Lagrangian responsible for providing masses to the heavy `mirror' fermions is not gauge invariant. This is because it contains an SO(5) quintuplet of right-handed fermions that transforms non-linearly under SU(5), hence involving in general all SO(5) generators when a gauge …
We construct a weakly coupled, renormalizable ultraviolet completion of the Littlest Higgs model with T-parity (LHT), based on an SU(5)xSU(2)xU(1) gauge theory with a discrete Z_2 symmetry. Our model reproduces the complete structure of the LHT below the 10 TeV scale, including the collective symmetry breaking mechanism which solves the little hierarchy problem. The model is manifestly free of anomalies, including both gauge/gravitational anomalies and anomalies involving T-parity. At the TeV scale, the model contains additional states not present in the LHT. We estimate the impact of these st…
We study precision electroweak constraints on the close cousin of the Littlest Higgs, the SU(6)/Sp(6) model. We identify a near-oblique limit in which the heavy W' and B' decouple from the light fermions, and then calculate oblique corrections, including one-loop contributions from the extended top sector and the two Higgs doublets. We find regions of parameter space that give acceptably small precision electroweak corrections and only mild fine tuning in the Higgs potential, and also find that the mass of the lightest Higgs boson is relatively unconstrained by precision electroweak data. The …
Applying effective Lagrangian method and on-shell scheme, we analyze the electroweak corrections to anomalous dipole moments of lepton from some special two loop diagrams in which a closed heavy fermion loop is attached to the virtual gauge bosons or Higgs fields. As the masses of virtual fermions in inner loop are much heavier than the electroweak scale, we verify the final results satisfying the decoupling theorem explicitly if the interactions among Higgs and heavy fermions do not contain the nondecoupling couplings. At the decoupling limit, we also present the leading corrections to lepton…
The top partner as a hallmark of the Littlest Higgs model with $T$-parity (LHT model) has been extensively searched for during the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) Run-1. With the increasing mass limits on the top partner, the single production of the top partner will be dominant over the pair production. Under the constraints from the Higgs data, the electroweak precision observables and $R_b$, we find that the mass of $T$-even top partner ($T_+$) has to be heavier than 730 GeV. Then, we investigate the observability of the single $T$-even top partner production through the process $pp \to T_+ j$ …
