$L$-complete Hopf algebroids and their comodules

We investigate Hopf algebroids in the category of $L$-complete modules over a commutative Noetherian regular complete local ring. The main examples are provided by the Hopf algebroids associated to Lubin-Tate spectra in the K(n)-local stable homotopy category and we show that these have Landweber filtrations for all finitely generated discrete modules. Along the way we investigate the canonical Hopf algebras associated to Hopf algebroids over fields and introduce a notion of unipotent Hopf algebroid generalising that for Hopf algebras. In two appendices we continue the discussion of the connections with twisted group rings, and expand on a result of Hovey on the non-exactness of coproducts of L-complete modules.

Homotopy theory of comodules over a Hopf algebroid

Given a good homology theory E and a topological space X, the E-homology of X is not just an E_{*}-module but also a comodule over the Hopf algebroid (E_{*}, E_{*}E). We establish a framework for studying the homological algebra of comodules over a well-behaved Hopf algebroid (A, Gamma). Graded comodule categories with enough projectives

It is well-known that the category of comodules over a flat Hopf algebroid is abelian but typically fails to have enough projectives, and more generally, the category of graded comodules over a graded flat Hopf algebroid is abelian but typically fails to have enough projectives. Derived completion for comodules

The objective of this paper is to introduce and study completions and local homology of comodules over Hopf algebroids, extending previous work of Greenlees and May in the discrete case. In particular, we relate module-theoretic to comodule-theoretic completion, construct various local homology spectral sequences, and derive a tilting-theoretic interpretation of local duality for modules. Our results translate to quasi-coherent sheaves over global quotient stacks and feed into a novel approach to the chromatic splitting conjecture.

Morita theory for Hopf algebroids and presheaves of groupoids

Comodules over Hopf algebroids are of central importance in algebraic topology. It is well-known that a Hopf algebroid is the same thing as a presheaf of groupoids on Aff, the opposite category of commutative rings. We show in this paper that a comodule is the same thing as a quasi-coherent sheaf over this presheaf of groupoids. We prove the general theorem that internal equivalences of presheaves of groupoids with respect to a Grothendieck topology on Aff give rise to equivalences of categories of sheaves in that topology. Comodule Structures, Equivariant Hopf Structures, and Generalized Schubert Polynomials

In this article, the comodule structure of Chow rings of Flag manifolds $\operatorname{CH}(G/B)$ is described by Schubert cells. Its equivariant version gives rise to a Hopf structure of the equivariant cohomology of flag manifolds $H^*_B(G/B)$. We get two identities of generalized Schubert polynomials as explanations of the geometric facts.

Morita theory for Hopf algebroids, principal bibundles, and weak equivalences

We show that two flat commutative Hopf algebroids are Morita equivalent if and only if they are weakly equivalent and if and only if there exists a principal bibundle connecting them. This gives a positive answer to a conjecture due to Hovey and Strickland. We also prove that principal (left) bundles lead to a bicategory together with a 2-functor from flat Hopf algebroids to trivial principal bundles. This turns out to be the universal solution for 2-functors which send weak equivalences to invertible 1-cells. Our approach can be seen as an algebraic counterpart to Lie groupoid Morita theory.

Topological tensor product of bimodules, complete Hopf Algebroids and convolution algebras

Given a finitely generated and projective Lie-Rinehart algebra, we show that there is a continuous homomorphism of complete commutative Hopf algebroids between the completion of the finite dual of its universal enveloping Hopf algebroid and the associated convolution algebra. A coring (A,C) consists of an algebra A and a coalgebra C in the monoidal category of A-bimodules.
