We have studied the eta->pi+pi-e+e-(gamma) decay using about 1.7 fb^-1 collected by the KLOE experiment at the DAFNE phi-factory. This corresponds to about 72 millions eta mesons produced in phi radiative decays. We have measured the branching ratio, inclusive of radiative effects, with 4% accuracy: BR(eta->pi+pi-e+e-(gamma)) = (26.8 +/- 0.9_Stat. +/- 0.7_Syst.) x 10^-5. We have obtained the first measurement of the CP-odd pipi-ee decay planes angular asymmetry, A_phi = (-0.6 +/- 2.5_Stat. +/- 1.8_Syst.) x 10^-2.
We have searched with the KLOE detector for the P and CP violating decay eta -> pi^+pi^- in a sample of 1.55 x 10^7 eta's from the decay phi -> eta gamma of phi mesons produced in e+e- annihilations at DAFNE. No signal is found. We obtain the upper limit BR(eta -> pi^+pi^-) < 1.3 x 10^-5 at 90% confidence level.
In a sample of 5.3x10^7 phi-decays observed with the KLOE detector at the Frascati phi-factory Dafne we find 605 eta pi0 gamma events with eta --> gammaγand 197 eta pi0 gamma events with eta --> pi+ pi- pi0. The decay phi --> eta pi0 gamma is dominated by the process phi --> a0 gamma. From a fit to the eta pi0 mass spectrum we find BR(phi --> ao(980) gamma)= (7.4 +- 0.7)x10^-5.
We have searched for the C-violating decay eta to gamma gamma gamma in a sample of ~ 18 million eta mesons produced in phi to eta gamma decays, collected with the KLOE detector at the Frascati phi-factory DAFNE. No signal is observed and we obtain the upper limit BR(eta to gamma gamma gamma) less equal than 1.6x10^(-5) at 90 % C.L.
We describe the status of the analyses in progress on light meson spectroscopy in the KLOE experiment. We present the analyses of phi decays into f0(980)gamma and a0(980)gamma, the Dalitz plot analysis of the eta to pie+ pie- pie0 decay, the branching ratio measurement of eta to pie0 gamma gamma, the upper limits on Br(eta to 3 gamma) and Br(eta to pie^+ pie^-), the measurement of the ratio Br(phi to eta' gamma)/Br(phi to eta gamma) and phi leptonic width measurements.
The KLOE experiment running at the phi-factory DAPHNE has collected ~ 450 pb^(-1) in the 2001--2002 data taking. We report preliminary results on light meson spectroscopy based on this data sample; particles are all produced through phi radiative decays. The nature of f0(980) and a0(980) is investigated by studying the shape of the resulting mass spectra, which is sensitive to their structure. A detailed study of the eta --> pi pi pi dynamics through a Dalitz plot analysis gives the possibility to extract information on the quark mass difference. Finally, the branching ratio for the eta --> pi…
An integrated luminosity of 410 pb^(-1), corresponding to ~ 17 million of eta events, has been analyzed to measure the eta mass using the decay eta to gamma gamma. The measurement is insensitive to the calorimeter energy calibration and the systematic error on the measurement is dominated by the uniformity of the detector response. As a cross check of the method the pi0 mass from the decay phi to pi0 gamma, pi0 to gamma gamma has been measured and it is in agreement with the most accurate previous determinations. The result obtained is m(eta) = 547.873 +/- 0.007 (stat.) +/- 0.031 (syst.) MeV, …
A sample of 1.25x10^9 phi decays, collected with the KLOE detector at the Frascati phi-factory DAFNE at center of mass energy ~ Mphi, has been used to study the radiative decay phi to eta pi0 gamma. This decay is dominated by phi to a0(980) gamma. Two decay chains, corresponding to eta to gamma gamma and eta to pi+ pi- pi0, have been selected. We found respectively: Br(phi to eta pi0 gamma)=(6.92 +/- 0.10 (stat.) +/- 0.20 (syst.))x10^(-5) and (7.19 +/- 0.17 (stat.) +/- 0.24 (syst.))x 10 ^(-5). The eta pi0 invariant mass distributions have been fitted to obtain the relevant a0(980) parameters.
The KLOE detector at DAFNE, the Frascati Phi-factory, has collected about 8 millions phi decays in 1999. Measurements of Phi decays into pi0, eta, eta', f0(980), a0(980) and pi+pi-pi0 have been performed with statistical accuracy better than previously in a single detector, as well as new decay modes. Phi radiative decays can clarify the nature of f0 and a0 (are they 4 quark states?) and measure the eta-eta' mixing angle. Analysis of Phi->pi+pi-pi0 allows us to extract the possible existence of direct decay in addition to the dominant rho-pi mode and to obtain a precise measurement of the rho …
Working at a $ϕ$-factory, KLOE/KLOE-2 has collected a very large and clean sample of $η$ decays, which allow to perform a variety of precision measurements. This report presents the recent results on the $η$-meson decays from KLOE/KLOE-2 experiments, including the search of the $C$-violating decay $η\rightarrowγγγ$, the determination of the $CP$ asymmetry in $η\rightarrowπ^+π^-e^+e^-$, the precision measurement of the $η\rightarrowπ^+π^-π^0$ Dalitz plot distribution, the search for the $CP$-violating decay $η\rightarrowπ^+π^-$ and the precision measurement of ${\cal O}(p^6)$ dominated decay $η…
KLOE has collected about 30 pb^-1 in year 2000 at the DAFNE collider, which yields the largest population of phi meson radiative decays studied so far. We present the result obtained for phi-->eta photon and phi -->eta' photon: the ratio of these two BR's has been measured to be (5.3 +- 0.5 +- 0.3) times 10^-3, leading to a very accurate determination of the mixing angle in the flavor basis (40 +1.7 -1.5 degrees) and to the most accurate determination of BR(phi -->eta' photon) to date: (6.8 +- 0.6 +-0.5) times 10^-5.
Here we present KLOE results on the phi meson decays in pi0 pi0 gamma, pi+ pi- gamma and eta pi0 gamma, the measurement of the ratio Br(phi to eta' gamma)/Br(phi to eta gamma) with the estimate of the eta' gluonium content and the measurement of the eta mass.
We have searched for the decay Ks->3p^0 with the KLOE experiment at DAFNE using data from e^+ e^- collisions at a center of mass energy W= m(phi) for an integrated luminosity L=450 pb^-1. The search has been performed with a pure Ks beam obtained by tagging with Kl interactions in the calorimeter and detecting six photons. We find an upper limit for the branching ratio of 1.2x10^-7 at 90% C.L.
The existence of a light dark force mediator has been tested with the KLOE detector at DAPHNE. This particle, called U, is searched for using the decay chain phi-->etaU, eta-->pi+pi-pi0, U-->e+e-. No evidence is found in 1.5 fb-1 of data. The resulting exclusion plot covers the mass range 5<M_U<470 MeV, setting an upper limit on the ratio between the U boson coupling constant and the fine structure constant, alpha'/alpha, of <= 2x10^-5 at 90% C.L. for 50<M_U<420 MeV.
Neutral kaons provide one of the most sensitive system to CP and CPT violation. Tests on CP, CPT and quantum mechanics have been performed at KLOE operating at the DAFNE e+e- collider. Results on the quantum interference in the channel phi-> KSKL ->pi+pi-pi+pi-, the measurement of the BR(KL ->pi+pi-) and the related CP violating parameter epsilon are presented. Using the Bell-Steinberger relation, CPT violating parameters have been also obtained
The KLOE results on the measurement of the transition form factors of the eta and pi0 mesons in phi Dalitz decays are presented, and the determination of the Gamma(eta->gamma gamma) in gamma gamma processes is also reported. The prospects for gamma gamma physics of the new data-taking, started in November 2014 with the upgraded detector, are reviewed.
We have studied the vector to pseudoscalar conversion decay phi -> eta e+e-, with eta -> pi0pi0pi0, with the KLOE detector at DAPHNE. The data set of 1.7 fb-1 of e+e- collisions at sqrt(s)~Mphi contains a clear conversion decay signal of ~31,000 events from which we measured a value of BR(phi -> eta e+e-)=(1.075+-0.007+-0.038)x10-4. The same sample is used to determine the transition form factor by a fit to the e+e- invariant mass spectrum, obtaining b(phi eta) =(1.17 +- 0.10 + 0.07) GeV-2, that improves by a factor of five the precision of the previous measurement and is in good agreement wit…
In this paper we present the fit to the recent high-statistical KLOE data on the phi -> eta pi^0 gamma decay. This decay mainly goes through the a_0 gamma intermediate state. The obtained results differ from those of the previous fits: data prefer a high a_0 mass and a considerably large a_0 coupling to the K\bar K}.
We have studied the phi->a_0(980) gamma process with the KLOE detector at the Frascati phi-factory DAPhNE by detecting the phi->eta pi^0 gamma decays in the final states with eta->gamma gamma and eta->pi^+ pi^- pi^0. We have measured the branching ratios for both final states: Br(phi->eta pi^0 gamma)=(7.01 +/- 0.10 +/- 0.20)x10^-5 and (7.12 +/- 0.13 +/- 0.22)x10^-5 respectively. We have also extracted the a_0(980) mass and its couplings to eta pi^0, K^+ K^-, and to the phi meson from the fit of the eta pi^0 invariant mass distributions using different phenomenological models.
Recent results from the KLOE experiment at the DAPHNE e+e- collider are presented. KLOE has collected about 500 pb^-1 of data in the years from 2000 to 2002. Preliminary results are obtained using wide samples of the full statistics and include: the BR of the Ke3 decay of the K_S and the first measurement of its charge asymmetry, the ratio BR(K_S-->pi+pi-(gamma))/BR(K_S-->pi^0pi^0), the ratio BR(K_L-->gammagamma)/BR(K_L-->3pi^0), a detailed study of the decay phi-->pi+pi-pi^0, the ratio BR(phi-->eta' gamma)/BR(phi-->eta gamma) and the pseudoscalar mixing angle phi_P, the phi-->f_0 gamma and th…
We present precise measurements of the eta and K0 masses using the processes phi to eta gamma, eta to gamma gamma and phi to Ks Kl, Ks to pi+ pi-. The K0 mass measurement, M_K=497.583 +/- 0.005 (stat) +/- 0.020 (syst) MeV, is in acceptable agreement with the previous measurements but is more accurate. We find m(eta) = 547.874 +/- 0.007 (stat) +/- 0.031 (syst) MeV. Our value is the most accurate to date and is in agreement with two recent measurements based on eta decays, but is inconsistent, by about 10 sigma, with a measurement of comparable precision based on eta production at threshold.
We report the first observation of the rare eta->e+e-e+e- decay based on 1.7 fb^{-1} collected by the KLOE experiment at the DAFNE phi-factory. The selection of the e+e-e+e- final state is fully inclusive of radiation. We have identified 362 +- 29 events resulting in a branching ratio of (2.4 +- 0.2_stat+bckg +- 0.1_syst) x 10^{-5}.
The most recent results from the KLOE experiment are presented, covering: the measurement of the running fine-structure constant alpha_em,the Dalitz plot measurement of eta to pi+pi-pi0, the search of a U boson, tests of discrete symmetries and quantum coherence. The KLOE-2 Collaboration will take data until mid 2018 aiming to collect 5 inversed fb increasing the data set, in order to produce new precision measurements and continue studies of fundamental symmetries and New Physics.
We present a new search for the $K_S \to 3π^0$ decay performed with the KLOE detector operating at the DA$Φ$NE $ϕ$--factory. The $K_S$ mesons were tagged via registration of $K_L$ mesons which crossed the drift chamber without decaying and interacted with the KLOE electromagnetic calorimeter. The $K_S \to 3π^0$ decay was then searched requiring six prompt photons. To suppress background, originating from fake $K_S$ tags and $K_S \to 2π^0$ decays with additional two spurious clusters, we have performed a discriminant analysis based on kinematical fit, testing of the signal and background hypoth…
We present recent results obtained by the KLOE-2 Collaboration at the DAPHNE e+e- collider. The first class of results concerns search for dark forces at the scale of 1 GeV in associated production of gamma and the U boson, in search for the Higgsstrahlung and in possible decays of phi into eta and U. The second is in neutral kaon physics, on testing the CPT and Lorentz invariance, and on search for quantum decoherence effects in entangled pairs of kaons. The third class of results concerns precision measurements in hadronic physics at low energy where transition form factors of phi to pseudos…
The aim of this work was to determine the KS -> 3pi0 decay branching ratio and a modulus of the eta000 parameter, defined as the ratio of amplitudes for KS -> 3 pi0 to KL -> 3pi0 decays, which characterizes the CP symmetry violation in this decay. The measurement has been carried out with the KLOE detector operating at the phi-factory DAFNE in the Italian National Center for Nuclear Physics in Frascati. The KS mesons were identified with high efficiency via registration of these KL mesons which crossed the drift chamber without decaying and then interacted with the KLOE electromagnetic calorim…
The DAFNE collider, located in the Frascati National Laboratories of INFN, has two main rings, where electrons and positrons are stored to collide at a center of mass energy of 1.02 GeV, the phi resonance mass. KLOE-2 experiment is located at the collider interaction region. The detector is capable to observe and collect data coming from phi decay: charged and neutral kaon pairs, lighter unflavored mesons (eta, eta', f0, a0, omega/rho). In the first half of 2013 the KLOE detector has been upgraded inserting new detector layers in the inner part of the apparatus, around the interaction region i…
The KLOE experiment has collected 2.4 1/pb of integrated luminosity during the commissioning of the DAFNE phi-factory in 1999. The performance of the detector has been studied using phi -> KL KS decays collected during this period, yielding also first measurements of relevant K parameters such as masses and lifetimes. A clean Kshort -> pi+ pi- sample is used to select Klong -> 2pi CP-violating decays and Klong -> Kshort regeneration events in the detector material. Results on the regeneration probability in beryllium-alluminum alloy and carbon-fiber plus aluminum composite are presented.
A short review of two measurements recently published by KLOE/KLOE-2 collaborations is presented. Namely the most stringent limits of the CPT-violating parameters Delta a_mu for neutral kaons, and the absolute branching ratio of K+ --> pi+pi-pi+(gamma) decay. In addition a discussion of starting KLOE-2 project is performed.
We present a measurement of the branching ratio of the CP violating decay KL->pi+pi- performed by the KLOE experiment at the phi factory DAFNE. We use 328 pb-1 of data collected in 2001 and 2002, corresponding to ~ 150 million tagged KL mesons. We find BR(KL->pi+pi-) = $(1.963 +/- 0.012 +/- 0.017)x 10^-3. This branching ratio measurement is fully inclusive of final-state radiation. Using the above result, we determine the modulus of the amplitude ratio |η_{+-}| to be (2.219 +/- 0.013)x 10^{-3} and |ε| to be (2.216 +/- 0.013)x 10^{-3}.
Patterns of chiral symmetry violation and tests of the conservation of the fundamental C, P and CP symmetries are key physics issues in studies of the pi0, eta and eta' meson decays. These tests include searches for rare or forbidden decays and searches for asymmetries among the decay products in the not-so-rare decays. Some examples for the rare decays are eta-->2pi, eta-->4pi0 (CP tests), decays into an odd number of photons (e.g., eta-->3g) and the decay eta-->pi0e+e- (C tests). The experimental studies of the pi0, eta and eta' meson decays are carried out at four European accelerator resea…
We present a new limit on the production of a light dark-force mediator with the KLOE detector at DAPHNE. This boson, called U, has been searched for in the decay phi --> eta U, U --> e+ e-, analyzing the decay eta --> pi0 pi0 pi0 in a data sample of 1.7 fb-1. No structures are observed in the e+e- invariant mass distribution over the background. This search is combined with a previous result obtained from the decay eta --> pi+ pi- pi0, increasing the sensitivity. We set an upper limit at 90% C.L. on the ratio between the U boson coupling constant and the fine structure constant of alpha'/alph…
We have carried out a new direct search for the CP violating decay KS -> 3pi0 with 1.7 fb^-1 of e+e- collisions collected by the KLOE detector at the phi-factory DAFNE. We have searched for this decay in a sample of about 5.9 x 10^8 KS KL events tagging the KS by means of the KL interaction in the calorimeter and requiring six prompt photons. With respect to our previous search, the analysis has been improved by increasing of a factor four the tagged sample and by a more effective background rejection of fake KS tags and spurious clusters. We find no candidates in data and simulated background…
We have searched for lepton flavor violating semileptonic tau decays using a data sample of 153.8/fb accumulated with the Belle detector at the KEKB e+e- collider. For the six decay modes studied, the observed yield is compatible with the estimated background and the following upper limits are set at the 90% confidence level: B(tau- -> e- eta) < 2.3 x 10^-7, B(tau- -> mu- eta) < 1.5 x 10^-7, B(tau- -> e- pi0) < 1.9 x 10^-7, B(tau- -> mu- pi0) < 4.1 x 10^-7, B(tau- -> e- eta') < 10 x 10^-7, and B(tau- -> mu- eta') < 4.7 x 10^-7. These results are 10 to 64 times more restrictive than previous li…
The $K_S \to 3 π^0$ decay is a pure CP violating process which, assuming CPT invariance, allows one to investigate direct CP violation. This decay has not been observed so far, and the best upper limit on the branching ratio $BR(K_S to 3π^0) < 1.2 \cdot 10^{-7}$ is two orders of magnitude larger than predictions based on the Standard Model: $BR(K_S \to 3π^0) \sim 2 \cdot 10^{-9}$. In this article we present the search for the $K_S \to 3π^0$ decay performed with the KLOE detector operating at the DAFNE Φ-factory at the Frascati Laboratory. We describe the analysis techniques used in the backgro…
We present a preliminary measurement of CP-violating parameters S and C from fits of the time-dependence of B0 meson decays to eta' K0. The data were recorded with the BaBar detector at PEP-II and correspond to 227 * 10^6 B-Bbar pairs produced in e+e- annihilation through the Upsilon(4S) resonance. From a maximum likelihood fit we measure the CP-violation parameters S = 0.27 +/- 0.14 (stat) +/- 0.03 (syst) and C = -0.21 +/- 0.10 (stat) +/- 0.03 (syst).
We present measurements of the B -> eta' K branching fractions;for B+ -> eta' K+ we measure also the time-integrated charge asymmetry Ach, and for B0 -> eta' K0S the time dependent CP-violation parameters S and C. The data sample corresponds to 232 million B Bbar pairs produced by e+ e- annihilation at the Upsilon(4S). The results are BF(B+ -> eta' K+) = (68.9 +- 2.0 +- 3.2) * 10^-6, BF(B0 -> eta' K0) = (67.4 +- 3.3 +- 3.2) * 10^-6, Ach = 0.033 +- 0.028 +- 0.005, S=0.30 +- 0.14 +- 0.02, C=-0.21 +- 0.10 +- 0.02, where the first error is statistical and the second systematic.
We present a preliminary measurement of CP-violating parameters S and C from fits of the time-dependence of B0 meson decays to eta'K0L. The data were recorded with the BABAR detector at PEP-II and correspond to 232 10^6 BBbar pairs produced in e+e- annihilation through the Y(4S) resonance. By fitting the time-dependent CP asymmetry of the reconstructed B0 --> eta'K0L events, we find S = 0.60 +- 0.31 +- 0.04 and C = 0.10 +- 0.21 +- 0.03, where the first error quoted is statistical and the second is systematic. We also perform a combined fit using both eta'K0S and eta'K0L data, and find S = 0.36…
We have searched for lepton flavor violating $τ$ decays with a pseudoscalar meson ($η$, $η'$ and $π^0$) using a data sample of 401 fb$^{-1}$ collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy $e^+e^-$ collider. No evidence for these decays is found and we set the following upper limits on the branching fractions: ${\cal{B}}(τ^-\to e^-η) < 9.2\times 10^{-8}$, ${\cal{B}}(τ^-\to μ^-η) < 6.5\times 10^{-8}$, ${\cal{B}}(τ^-\to e^-η') < 1.6\times 10^{-7}$, ${\cal{B}}(τ^-\to μ^-η') < 1.3\times 10^{-7}$ ${\cal{B}}(τ^-\to e^-π^0) < 8.0\times 10^{-8}$ and ${\cal{B}}(τ^-\to μ^-π^0) < 1.2\time…

For B0 -> eta' K0s we also measure the time dependent CP-violation parameters S and C, and for B+ ->eta' K+ the time-integrated charge asymmetry Ach. The data sample corresponds to 88.9 million BBbar pairs produced by e+e- annihilation at the Upsillon(4S). The results are B(B+->eta'K+) = (76.9 +/- 3.5 +/- 4.4)*10^-6, B(B0->eta'K0) = (60.6 +/- 5.6 +/- 4.6)*10^-6, S = 0.02+/-0.34 +/- 0.03, C = 0.10+/-0.22 +/- 0.04, and Ach = 0.037 +/- 0.045+/- 0.011.
We present a search for tau sneutrino production using the Tevatron ppbar collision data collected with the CDF II detector and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1 fb^-1. We focus on the scenarios predicted by the R-parity violating (RPV) supersymmetric models in which tau sneutrinos decay to two charged leptons of different flavor. With the data consistent with the standard model expectations, we set the upper limits on sigma(ppbar -> tau sneutrino)*BR(tau sneutrino ->emu,mutau,etau) and use these results to constrain the RPV couplings as a function of tau sneutrino mass.
We present measurements of the CP-violation parameters S and C for the radiative decay B0 -> eta K0s gamma; for B -> eta K gamma we also measure the branching fractions and for B+ -> eta K+ gamma the time-integrated charge asymmetry Ach. The data, collected with the BaBar detector at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, represent $465 \times 10^6$ BBbar pairs produced in $e^{+} e^{-}$ annihilation. The results are $S = -0.18^{+0.49}_{-0.46} \pm 0.12$, $C = -0.32^{+0.40}_{-0.39} \pm 0.07$, BF(B0 -> eta K0 gamma) = $(7.1^{+2.1}_{-2.0} \pm 0.4) \times 10^{-6}$, BF(B+ -> eta K+ gamma) = $(7.7+-…
Data collected by the KLOE experiment in years 2001/2002 for a total integrated luminosity of 410 pb$^{-1}$, corresponding to 17 million of produced $η$'s from the $Φ\to ηγ$ radiative decay, have been analyzed to look for the C-violating decay $η\toγγγ$. The signal is searched in events with 4 photons in the final state by using the spectrum of the most energetic photon. The background is evaluated from the data themself, doing a fifth degree polynomial fit outside the signal region, and extrapolating inside it. No signal has been observed and taking into account a selection efficiency $ε= 20.…
Based on an integrated luminosity of 1.61 fb$^{-1}$ $e^+e^-$ collision data collected with the KLOE detector at DA$Φ$NE, the Frascati $ϕ$-factory, a search for the $P$- and $CP$-violating decay $η\toπ^{+}π^{-}$ has been performed. Radiative $ϕ\toηγ$ decay is exploited to access the $η$ mesons. No signal is observed in the $π^{+}π^{-}$ invariant mass spectrum, and the upper limit on the branching fraction at 90\% confidence level is determined to be ${\mathcal B}(η\toπ^{+}π^{-})<4.9\times10^{-6}$, which is approximately three times smaller than the previous KLOE result. From the combination of …
Neutral kaon pairs produced in phi decays in anti-symmetric entangled state can be exploited to search for violation of CPT symmetry and Lorentz invariance. We present an analysis of the CP-violating process phi->K_S K_L->pi+pi-pi+pi- based on 1.7 fb-1 of data collected by the KLOE experiment at the Frascati phi-factory DAFNE. The data are used to perform a measurement of the CPT-violating parameters Delta_amu for neutral kaons in the contest of the Standard Model Extension framework. The parameters measured in the reference frame of the fixed stars are: Delta_ao = (-6.0 +- 7.7_{stat} +- 3.1_{…
Preliminary results for the Dalitz plot distribution of $η^\prime\toηππ$ decays in the frameworks of Large-$N_c$ Chiral Perturbation Theory and Resonance Chiral Theory are given. We hope our results to be of some relevance for the present and forthcoming analysis of these decays at GAMS, CLEO, VES, KLOE-2, Crystal Ball, Crystal Barrel, WASA, and BES-III.
The Dafne Frascati phi factory has continously improved its performances reaching in 2002 an instantaneous luminosity of 8x10^31 cm-2 s-1. The DEAR experiment, concluded in 2002, has measured the de-excitation of kaonic atoms. The KLOE experiment, still running, has measured several branching ratios for neutral and charged kaons decays, rho, eta, eta', a0 and f0 mesons parameters and, via the radiative return, the e+e- -> pi+pi- cross section. Preliminary and final results are presented.
Using a sample of $(225.2\pm 2.8)\times 10^6$ $J/ψ$ events collected with the Beijing Spectrometer (BESIII) at the Beijing Electron-Positron Collider, CP and $P$ violating decays of $η$, $η'$ and $\etac$ into $π^+π^-$ and $π^0 π^0$ are searched for in $\jpsi$ radiative decays. No significant $η$, $η'$ or $\etac$ signal is observed, and 90% confidence level upper limits of $\BR(η\to π^+π^-)<3.9\times 10^{-4}$, $\BR(η' \to π^+π^-)<5.5\times 10^{-5}$, $\BR(\etac \to π^+π^-)<1.3\times 10^{-4}$, $\BR(η\to π^0 π^0)<6.9\times 10^{-4}$, $\BR(η' \to π^0 π^0)<4.5\times 10^{-4}$ and $\BR(\etac \to π^0 π^…
The work was carried out in the framework of the KLOE collaboration studying the decays of the phi meson produced in the DAFNE accelerator in the collisions of electron and positron. The main aim of this thesis was investigation of the influence of the merging and splitting of clusters in decays with the high multiplicity of gamma quanta, which are at most biased by these effects. For this aim we implemented the full geometry and realistic material composition of the barrel electromagnetic calorimeter in FLUKA package. The prepared Monte Carlo based simulation program permits to achieve a fast…
We present an improved measurement of CP-violation parameters in B0 --> phi Ks0, K+ K- Ks0, and eta' Ks0 decays based on a 140 fb-1 data sample collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB energy-asymmetric e+e- collider. One neutral B meson is fully reconstructed in one of the specified decay channels, and the flavor of the accompanying B meson is identified from its decay products. CP-violation parameters for each of the three modes are obtained from the asymmetries in the distributions of the proper-time intervals between the two B decays. We find that the obse…
We have studied, with the KLOE detector at the DA$Φ$NE $Φ$-Factory, the dynamics of the decay $η\toπ^+π^-π^0$ using data from the radiative $ϕ\toηγ$ decay for an integrated luminosity $L = 450 \textrm{pb^{-1}}$. From a fit to the Dalitz plot density distribution we obtain a precise measurement of the slope parameters. This should allow to improve the knowledge of the decay amplitude which is sensitive to the u-d quark mass difference. We also present new best results on the C-violating asymmetries in the $η\toπ^+π^-π^0$ decay.
We have studied the e+e- -> omegapi0 cross section in the sqrt(s) interval 1000-1030 MeV using the pi+pi-pi0pi0 and pi0pi0gamma final states with a sample of ~600 pb^-1 collected with the KLOE detector at DAFNE. By fitting the observed interference pattern around M_phi for both final states, we extract the ratio of the decay widths Gamma(omega->pi0gamma)/Gamma(omega->pi+pi-pi0) = 0.0897 +- 0.0016 and derive the branching fractions BR(omega -> pi+pi-pi0)= (90.24 +- 0.19)%, BR(omega -> pi0gamma) = (8.09 +- 0.14)%. The parameters describing the e+e- -> omegapi0 reaction around M_ϕare also used to…
Rare decay results from KTeV are reviewed, emphasizing modes that in principle provide information about the CKM matrix. Our recent results in lepton flavor violating modes are also presented.
Using ~600 pb-1 collected with the KLOE detector at DAPhiNE, we have studied the production cross section of pi+ pi- pi0 pi0 and p0p0 gamma final states in e+e- collisions at center of mass energies between 1000 and 1030 MeV. By fitting the observed interference pattern around Mphi for both final states, we extract a measurement (preliminary) for the ratio Gamma(omega -> pi0 gamma)/Gamma(omega -> pi+ pi- pi0) = 0.0934 +- 0.0022. Since these two final states represent the 98% of the omega decay channels, we use unitarity to derive BR(omega -> pi+pi-pi0)= (89.94 +- 0.23)% and BR(omega -> pi0 gam…
Using data taken during the year 2000 with the NA48 detector at the CERN SPS, a search for the CP violating decay K_S -> 3 pi0 has been performed. From a fit to the lifetime distribution of about 4.9 million reconstructed K0/K0bar -> 3 pi0 decays, the CP violating amplitude eta_000 = A(K_S -> 3 pi0)/A(K_L -> 3 pi0) has been found to be Re(eta_000) = -0.002 +- 0.011 +- 0.015 and Im(eta_000) = -0.003 +- 0.013 +- 0.017. This corresponds to an upper limit on the branching fraction of Br(K_S -> 3 pi0) < 7.4 x 10^-7 at 90% confidence level. The result is used to improve knowledge of Re(epsilon) and …
We report on a study of the isospin-violating and conserving decays of the J/psi and psi(2S) charmonium state to Lambda Lambdabar pi0 and Lambda Lambdabar eta, respectively. The data are based on 225 million J/psi and 106 million psi(2S) events that were collected with the BESIII detector. The most accurate measurement of the branching fraction of the isospin-violating process J/psi ->Lambda Lambdabar pi0 is obtained, and the isospin-conserving processes J/psi ->Lambda Lambdabar eta and psi(2S) ->Lambda Lambdabar eta are observed for the first time. The branching fractions are measured to be B…
Using 58 million $J/ψ$ events taken with the BESII detector, a search for $eta_{c}$ CP violating decays into $ππ$ and $\bar{K}K$ has been performed. No clear $eta_{c}$ is observed, and upper limits for $B(eta_{c}->ππ)$and $B(eta_{c}->\bar{K} K)$ are given at the 90% confidence level, $B(J/ψ->γη_{c})\times B(eta_{c}->π^{+}π^{-})<1.1\times 10^{-5}$ , $B(J/ψ->γη_{c})\times B(eta_{c}->π^{0}π^{0})<0.71\times 10^{-5}$, $B(J/ψ->γη_{c})\times B(eta_{c}->K^{+}K^{-})<0.96\times 10^{-5}$ and $B(J/ψ->γη_{c})\times B(eta_{c}->{K_{s}}^{0}{K_{s}}^{0})<0.53\times 10^{-5}$.
One of the objectives of the physics programme of the WASA-at-COSY facility is to study the isospin violating eta hadronic decays into pi+pi-pi0$ systems driven by the term of QCD Lagrangian which depends on the d and u quark mass difference. These studies can be made in terms of the Dalitz plot parameters describing the density population which is proportional to the square of the amplitude |A(x,y)|^2. This contribution describes the current status of the analysis of the eta->pi+pi-pi0 decay in the pd->3He eta and as well in the pp->pp eta reaction with WASA-at-COSY.
We report improved measurements of B decays with an eta meson in the final state using 492 fb^{-1} of data collected by the Belle detector at the KEKB e^+ e^- collider. We observe the decays B^{+-}-> eta pi^{+-} and B^{+-}-> eta K^{+-}; the measured branching fractions are Br(B^{+-}-> eta pi^{+-}) = (4.2+- 0.4(stat)+- 0.2(sys))x10^{-6} and Br(B^{+-}-> eta K^{+-}) = (1.9+-0.3(stat)^{+0.2}_{-0.1}(sys))x10^{-6}. The corresponding CP-violating asymmetries are measured to be -0.23+- 0.09(stat) +-0.02(sys) for eta pi^{+-} and -0.39+-0.16(stat)+-0.03(sys) for eta K^{+-}. We also search for B^0-> eta …
We present new measurements of CP-violation parameters in B0 -> phiK0, K+K-Ks, f0(980)Ks, eta'Ks, omegaKs and Kspi0 decays based on a sample of 275 x 10^6 BBbar pairs collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB energy-asymmetric e+e- collider. One neutral B meson is fully reconstructed in one of the specified decay channels, and the flavor of the accompanying B meson is identified from its decay products. CP-violation parameters for each of the decay modes are obtained from the asymmetries in the distributions of the proper-time intervals between the two B decays…
We report improved measurements of B decays with an eta meson in the final state using 357 fb^-1 of data collected by the Belle detector at the KEKB e^+ e^- collider. We observe the decays B^+- ->eta pi^+- and B^+- -> eta K^+-; the measured branching fractions are Br(B^+- -> eta pi^+-) = (3.9 +- 0.5(stat.)+-0.2(sys.))*10^-6 and Br(B^+- -> eta K^+-) = (2.2+-0.4(stat.)+-0.1(sys.))*10^-6, respectively. Their corresponding CP-violating asymmetries are measured to be -0.10+-0.11(stat.)+-0.02(sys.) for eta pi^+- and -0.55+-0.19(stat.)+0.04-0.03(sys.) for eta K^+-. No significant signal is found for …
