We propose an effective description of squark interactions with charginos/neutralinos. We recompute the strong corrections to squark partial decay widths, and compare the full one-loop computation with the effective description. The effective description includes the effective Yukawa couplings, and another logarithmic term which encodes the supersymmetry-breaking. The proposed effective couplings reproduce correctly the radiative-corrected partial decay widths of the squark decays into charginos and neutralinos in all relevant regions of the parameter space.
A detailed study of top-quark polarizations and $t \bar t$ charge asymmetries, induced by top-squark-pair production at the LHC and the subsequent decays $\tilde t \to t \tilde χ_1^0$, is performed within the effective description of squark interactions, which includes the effective Yukawa couplings and another logarithmic term encoding the supersymmetry breaking. This effective approach is more suitable for its introduction into Monte-Carlo simulations and we make use of its implementation in {\tt MadGraph} in order to investigate the possibilities of the charge asymmetry $A_\text{C}$, measur…
We have included the effective description of squark interactions with charginos/neutralinos in the MadGraph MSSM model. This effective description includes the effective Yukawa couplings, and another logarithmic term which encodes the supersymmetry-breaking. We have performed an extensive test of our implementation analyzing the results of the partial decay widths of squarks into charginos and neutralinos obtained by using FeynArts/FormCalc programs and the new model file in MadGraph. We present results for the cross-section of top-squark production decaying into charginos and neutralinos.
The one loop corrected effective Lagrangian for the quark-squark-chargino and quark-squark-neutralino interactions is computed. The effective Lagrangian takes into account the loop corrections arising from the exchange of the gluinos, charginos, neutralinos, W, Z, the charged Higgs, and the neutral Higgs. We further analyze the squark decays into charginos and neutralinos and discuss the effect of the loop corrections on them. The analysis takes into account CP phases in the soft parameters. It is found that the loop corrections to the stop decay widths into chargino and neutralinos can be as …
We analyze effects of the CP violating interactions on associated gluino-squark production in the MSSM at hadron colliders. Depending on the sparticle masses, the hadronic cross sections can be enhanced up to 9.5 % for a 500 GeV gluino at the LHC energies.
We present the next-to-leading strong interaction corrections to the Delta F=2 Hamiltonian in the MSSM with exact diagonalization of the squark mass matrices. These results allow phenomenological studies of neutral meson mixing in scenarios with non-degenerate squarks, with control over the renormalization scale and scheme dependence.
A new particle's interactions can be measured at colliders, by observing its associated production with Standard Model particles. We focus on the case of a collider-stable right-handed top squark and study the LHC sensitivities to its couplings to the photon, Z, and the Higgs boson. Such measurements determine the top squark's charge, mixing angle and coupling to the electroweak symmetry breaking sector. Determining these couplings can provide strong evidence for the supersymmetric solution to the hierarchy problem. Our analysis shows that the LHC has great prospects for measuring the photon a…
We examine the prospects of detecting sfermions at a gamma gamma collider. Once produced, a slepton can decay into a pair of quarks (jets) through R-parity violating interactions. Similarly, a squark may decay into a lepton-quark pair. Analyzing the corresponding Standard Model backgrounds, namely 4-jet and dilepton plus dijet final states respectively, we show that the sfermion can be detected almost right upto the kinematic limit and its mass determined to a fair degree of accuracy. Similar statements also hold for nonsupersymmetric leptoquarks and diquarks.
We study a decay rate asymmetry of the top quark in the supersymmetric standard model, taking into account the constraints from the electric dipole moments of the neutron and the electron. One CP-violating phase contained in the mass-squared matrices of squarks and sleptons is allowed to have an unsuppressed value, even if their masses are of order 100 GeV. Sizable $CP$ violation could then occur in the production and decay of the top quark through interactions with top squarks. The asymmetry between the widths for the decays $t\to bW^+$ and $\bar t\to \bar bW^-$ can be of order $10^{-3}$, whi…
A decay rate asymmetry of the top quark is discussed within the framework of the supersymmetric standard model. Although new sources of CP violation in this model are severely constrained from the electric dipole moments of the neutron and the electron, there is a possibility that a top squark has a mass of around 100 GeV and CP violation in its interaction with a top quark is unsuppressed. Then partial widths could be different between the decays $t\to bW^+$ and $\bar t\to \bar bW^-$. The magnitude of this CP asymmetry can be of order $10^{-3}$, which may be detectable in the near future.
We compute the order alpha_s^3 (next-to-leading) corrections to the Wilson coefficients of the Delta F=2 effective Hamiltonian in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model with completely arbitrary soft terms. These results are relevant for phenomenological studies of neutral meson mixings in the presence of large squark mass splittings, in particular in hierarchical scenarios of supersymmetry. These corrections achieve a considerable reduction of the uncertainty related to the matching scale ambiguity, and are therefore numerically relevant. We briefly analyze the effect of certain mass split…
In supersymmetric theories with R-parity breaking, trilinear couplings of two leptons to scalar sleptons are possible. In electron-positron collisions such interactions would manifest themselves through contact terms in Bhabha scattering and in annihilation to mu or tau pair Interpreting the high x, high Q2 DIS HERA events as charm squark production with squark masses of order 200 GeV, the formation of tau sneutrinos with a mass in the range close to the LEP2 energy or even in reach, is an exciting speculation which can be investigated in the coming LEP2 runs with energies close to 200 GeV.
We re-evaluate the decays of the Higgs bosons in the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) where the tree-level CP invariance of the Higgs potential is explicitly broken by the loop effects of the third-generation squarks with CP-violating soft-breaking Yukawa interactions. This study is based on the mass matrix of the neutral Higgs bosons that is valid for arbitrary values of all the relevant MSSM parameters. It extends the previous work considerably by including neutral Higgs-boson decays into virtual gauge bosons and those into top-squark pairs, by implementing squark-loop contributi…
In this paper we study the Yukawa Higgs-quark-quark interactions that are generated from radiative corrections of squarks and gluinos, in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. We compute the corrections to the effective action for Higgs and quark fields that are produced by explicit integration, in the path integral formalism, of all the squarks and gluinos, at the one-loop level and order $α_s$. In addition, we consider the limit of nearly degenerate heavy squarks and gluinos, with masses much larger than the electroweak scale, and derive the effective Lagrangian containing all the relev…
We investigate the possibility of constructing models of R-violating LQD Yukawa couplings using a single U(1) flavour-symmetry group and supermultiplet charge assignments that are compatible with the known hierarchies of quark and lepton masses. The mismatch of mass and current eigenstates inferred from the known charged-current mixing induces the propagation of strong phenomenological constraints on some R-violating couplings to many others. Applying these constraints, we look for flavour-symmetry models that are consistent with different squark-production hypotheses devised to explain the po…
The LHCb has measured the ratios of $B\to K^\astμ^+μ^-$ to $B\to K^\ast e^+ e^-$ branching fractions in two dilepton invariant mass squared bins, which deviate from the Standard Model predictions by approximately $2.5σ$. These new measurements strengthen the hint of lepton flavor universality breaking which was observed earlier in $B\to K\ell^+\ell^-$ decays. In this work we explore the possibility of explaining these anomalies within the framework of $R$-parity violating interactions. In this framework, $b\to s\ell^+\ell^-$ transitions are generated through tree and one loop diagrams involvin…
We derive the renormalization group equations for dimensionless couplings and soft supersymmetry breaking (SSB) parameters given arbitrary high scale inputs, incorporating 1-loop thresholds. A program (to be incorporated into ISAJET) has been developed, which includes flavour violating couplings of superparticles based on an arbitrary framework for the high scale flavour structure of SSB parameters. The weak scale flavour structure derived in this way can be applied to the study of SUSY flavour changing decays. As an illustration, we recalculate the branching ratio of the flavour-violating dec…
In this paper, motivated by the observation that the Standard Model predictions are now above the experimental data for the mass difference $ΔM_{s(d)}$, we perform a detailed study of $B_{s(d)}-\bar{B}_{s(d)}$ mixing and $B_s\toμ^+μ^-$ decay in the $\mathbb{Z}_3$-invariant NMSSM with non-minimal flavour violation, using the recently developed procedure based on the Flavour Expansion Theorem, with which one can perform a purely algebraic mass-insertion expansion of an amplitude written in the mass eigenstate basis without performing any diagrammatic calculations in the interaction/flavour basis…
We study leptonic decays D_s\to τνand B^+ \to τνin R-parity violating (RPV) supersymmetric standard model. The interference between the s-channel slepton exchange and the t-channel squark exchange diagrams could be destructive in a certain model parameter region so that sizable RPV couplings are allowed. Contributions from the RPV interactions to the final states with the lepton flavor violation (LFV), τν_μ(τν_e), are also examined taking account of constraints on the RPV couplings from the other LFV processes.
We investigate leptonic decays $D_s \to τν_τ$ and $B^+ \to τν_τ$ in R-parity violating (RPV) supersymmetric standard model. Taking account of interference between the s-channel slepton exchange and the $t$-channel squark exchange diagrams, we find that the supersymmetric contributions are cancelled between two diagrams so that the RPV couplings could be sizable under the experimental bounds. Constraints on the relative sign between the RPV couplings in $s$- and $t$-channel diagrams are also discussed.
The squark mass-matrix from the soft supersymmetry (SUSY) breaking sector contains a rich flavor-mixing structure that allows O(1) mixings among top- and charm-squarks while being consistent with all the existing theoretical and experimental bounds. We formulate a {\it minimal} flavor-changing-neutral current scheme in which the squark mixings arise from the non-diagonal scalar trilinear interactions. This feature can be realized in a class of new models with horizontal U(1)_H symmetry which generates realistic quark-mass matrices and provides a solution to the SUSY μ-problem. Finally, without…
The presence of $R$-parity violating (RPV) supersymmetric interactions involving high-energy neutrinos can lead to resonant production of TeV-scale squarks inside large-volume neutrino detectors. Using the ultra-high energy neutrino events observed recently at the IceCube, with the fact that for a given power-law flux of astrophysical neutrinos, there is no statistically significant deviation in the current data from the Standard Model expectations, we derive robust upper limits on the RPV couplings as a function of the resonantly-produced squark mass, independent of the other unknown model pa…
We present a detailed discussion of the elastic scattering of a supersymmetric neutralino off a nucleon or nucleus, with emphasis on the spin--independent interaction. We carefully treat QCD effects on the squark exchange contribution. In particular, we identify a class of terms that survive even in the absence of mixing in both the neutralino and squark sectors; the corresponding quark and gluon operators also appear in analyses of deep--inelastic lepton--nucleon scattering (``twist--2 operators''), so their hadronic matrix elements are well known. We also re--emphasize the importance of mixi…
Perturbative supersymmetric gauge coupling unification is possible in six theories where complete SU(5) TeV-scale multiplets of vector matter account for the size of the reported $750~{\rm GeV}$ diphoton resonance, interpreted as a singlet multiplet $S = (s+ia)/\sqrt{2}$. One of these has a full generation of vector matter and a unified gauge coupling $α_G \sim 1$. The diphoton signal rate is enhanced by loops of vector squarks and sleptons, especially when the trilinear $A$ couplings are large. If the $SH_u H_d$ coupling is absent, both $s$ and $a$ can contribute to the resonance, which may t…
The flavor changing decay Z -> d_I \bar{d}_J is investigated with special emphasis on the b \bar{s} final state. Various models for flavor violation are considered: two Higgs doublet models (2HDM's), supersymmetry (SUSY) with flavor violation in the up and down-type squark mass matrices and SUSY with flavor violation mediated by R-parity-violating interaction. We find that, within the SUSY scenarios for flavor violation, the branching ratio for the decay Z -> b \bar{s} can reach 10^{-6} for large \tanβvalues, while the typical size for this branching ratio in the 2HDM's considered is about two…
In low energy SUSY theories exchange of gluino and squark with left-right mixing can produce a large gluonic dipole interaction. In this paper we study the effects of this interaction on $B\to K π$ using QCD improved factorization method. The Standard Model predicts a smaller branching ratio for $B^0 \to \bar K^0 π^0$ than experimental measured one. We find that within the parameter space allowed from $B\to γX_s$ constraint, the SUSY dipole interaction can enhance this branching ratio to agree with the experimental measurement. Combining recent data for all the four $\bar B^0 \to K^- π^+, \bar…
The modelling of multiple parton interactions in Monte Carlo event generators is a crucial part not only for the dressing of signal processes but also to describe data with a minimum bias on the event selection. Much work has and will be put into the theoretical framework and the numerical implementation of these models. In this contribution, we summarize various changes to the machinery of multiparton interactions and related physics in the Monte Carlo event generator Herwig 7.
In this paper we begin the development of a formalism for the description of high energy neutrino interactions. It is based upon field theory quantized on a null plane. We set up the general formalism as well as some techniques needed to perform phenomenological calculations. We show that the formalism developed by Wolfenstein is recovered at the cost of making two approximations: one has to treat the charged lepton fields in the Hartree--Fock approximation and one has to take the short distance limit of the Hartree--Fock correlation function. As an example, we discuss the resonant interaction…
Top squark (stop) can be produced via QCD interaction but also the electroweak interaction at the LHC. In this paper, we investigate the observability of the associated production of stop and chargino, $pp \to \tilde{t}_1\tildeχ^-_1$, in compressed electroweakino scenario at the 14 TeV LHC. Due to the small mass-splitting between the lightest neutralino ($\tildeχ^0_1$) and chargino ($\tildeχ^-_1$), such a single stop production can give a mono-top signature through the stop decay $\tilde{t}_1 \to t \tildeχ^0_1$. Focusing on the leptonic mono-top channel, we propose a lab-frame observable $\cos…
The Hamiltonian of relativistic particles with electric and magnetic dipole moments that interact with an electromagnetic field is determined in the Foldy-Wouthuysen representation. Transition to the semiclassical approximation is carried out. The quantum-mechanical and semiclassical equations of spin motion are derived.
The collective behavior of secondary particles in pp - interactions at 70 GeV/c is studied. A Two Stage Gluon Model is offered to describe proceses with very high multiplicity. An active role of gluons is shown in multiparticle dynamics. The analysis of multiplicity distributions has revealed a possibility of a thermodynamic interpretation of these interactions. A mechanism of the soft photon production as a signature of the quark-gluon system is proposed.
The weak interactions are described within the framework of electrodynamics. The massive vector field is considered as photon with the effective mass defined in the second order of the perturbation theory. Muon and tau-lepton are considered to be composite particles having the structure electron-positron-electron. The mass of muon is defined by the section of two-photon annihilation. The mass of tau-lepton is defined by the section of three-photon annihilation.
We suggest a duality between the statistical and standard (dynamical) distributions of partons in the nucleons. The temperature parameter entering into the statistical form for the quark distributions is estimated. It is found that this effective temperature is practically the same for the dependence on logitudinal and transverse momenta and, it is close to the freeze-out temperature in high energy heavy-ion collisions.
We have investigated the gauge field of a fast moving projectile passing through a dense medium. We provide a simple and unified derivation, in light cone gauge, of the gluon production cross-section in proton-nucleus (initial state interactions), and the radiative gluon spectrum of a hard parton produced in a nucleus-nucleus collision (final state interactions). Finally, we discuss the validity of the eikonal approximation in proton-nucleus collisions at RHIC energies.
Collective behaviors of secondary particles in pp-interactions at 70 GeV/c are researched. The Two Stage Gluon Model is supposed for describing of processes with very high multiplicity. It is shown that gluons play the active role in the multiparticle dynamics. Analysis of multiplicity distributions of charged, neutral particles and total multiplicity gives the thermodynamic meaning of these interactions. The mechanism of the soft photon formation as signature of the quark-gluon system considered.
Exotic stable massive particles (SMP) are proposed in a number of scenarios of physics beyond the Standard Model. It is important that LHC experiments are able both to detect and extract the quantum numbers of any SMP with masses around the TeV scale. To do this, an understanding of the interactions of SMPs in matter is required. In this paper a Regge-based model of R-hadron scattering is extended and implemented in Geant-4. In addition, the implications of $R$-hadron scattering for collider searches are discussed.
A new way of describing massive vector bosons is proposed. It is possible to change the boson propagator in such way that the theory with the vector boson interaction becomes a renormalized one. One example of the efficacy of such a description is shown using the example of the weak interaction of charged currents.
The description of the massive vector- and pseudo-vector bosons is proposed, which allows the use of them as interaction carriers. The boson propagators guarantee the renormalizability of the theory with massive intermediate bosons. The proposed description is free from the Englert-Brout-Higgs mechanism. These bosons are used to describe the weak lepton interactions. In such a description boson's and lepton's interaction Lagrangian coincides with the boson's and lepton's interaction Lagrangian in the Glashow-Weinberg-Salam model, which is in good agreement with the experimental results.
We investigate the possibility of explaining the enhancement in semileptonic decays of $\bar B \to D^{(*)} τ\bar ν$, the anomalies induced by $b\to sμ^+μ^-$ in $\bar B\to (K, K^*, ϕ)μ^+μ^-$ and violation of lepton universality in $R_K = Br(\bar B\to K μ^+μ^-)/Br(\bar B\to K e^+e^-)$ within the framework of R-parity violating (RPV) MSSM. Exchange of down type right-handed squark coupled to quarks and leptons yield interactions which are similar to leptoquark induced interactions that have been proposed to explain the $\bar B \to D^{(*)} τ\bar ν$ by tree level interactions and $b\to s μ^+μ^-$ an…
Models developed within the framework of the relativistic impulse approximation for quasielastic (QE) electron and neutrino-nucleus scattering are discussed. Different descriptions of final-state interactions (FSI) in the inclusive scattering are compared: the relativistic Green's function (RGF) and the relativistic mean field (RMF).The results of the models are compared with the recently measured double-differential charged-current QE (CCQE) neutrino MiniBooNE cross sections.
The results of two relativistic models with different descriptions of the final-state interactions are compared with the MiniBooNE data of charged-current quasielastic cross sections. The relativistic mean field model uses the same potential for the bound and ejected nucleon wave functions. In the relativistic Green's function (RGF) model the final-state interactions are described in the inclusive scattering consistently with the exclusive scattering using the same complex optical potential. The RGF results describe the experimental data for total cross-sections without the need to modify the …
The analysis of the recent neutral-current neutrino-nucleus scattering cross sections measured by the MiniBooNE Collaboration requires relativistic theoretical descriptions also accounting for the role of final state interactions. In this work we evaluate differential cross sections with the relativistic distorted-wave impulse-approximation and with the relativistic Green's function model to investigate the sensitivity to final state interactions. The role of the strange-quark content of the nucleon form factors is also discussed.
The analysis of the recent charged-current neutrino-nucleus scattering cross sections measured by the ArgoNeuT Collaboration requires relativistic theoretical descriptions also accounting for the role of final-state interactions. In this work, we evaluate differential neutrino-nucleus cross sections with the relativistic Green's function model, where final-state interactions are described in the inclusive scattering consistently with the exclusive scattering using a complex optical potential. The sensitivity to the parameterization adopted for the phenomenological optical potential is discusse…

A review is given of the status and developments of the research program aiming to reformulate the physics of the four interactions at the classical level in a unified way in terms of Dirac-Bergmann observables with special emphasis on the open mathematical, physical and interpretational problems.
It is found that UrQMD model version 3.3 does not describe NA61/SHINE Collaboration data on π-meson production in pp interactions at energies 20 - 80 GeV. At the same time, it describes quite well the NA49 Collaboration data on the meson production in pp and pC interactions at 158 GeV. The Collaborations do not consider feedback of η-meson decays. All versions of the UrQMD model assume that η-mesons are "stable". An inclusion of the decays into calculations leads to 2--3 % increase of the meson production which is not enough for description of the data. Possible ways of the model improvements …
