The defining feature of scalar sequestering is that the MSSM squark and slepton masses as well as all entries of the scalar Higgs mass matrix vanish at some high scale. This ultraviolet boundary condition - scalar masses vanish while gaugino and Higgsino masses are unsuppressed - is independent of the supersymmetry breaking mediation mechanism. It is the result of renormalization group scaling from approximately conformal strong dynamics in the hidden sector. We review the mechanism of scalar sequestering and prove that the same dynamics which suppresses scalar soft masses and the B_mu term also drives the Higgs soft masses to -|mu|^2. Thus the supersymmetric contribution to the Higgs mass matrix from the mu-term is exactly canceled by the soft masses. Scalar sequestering has two tell-tale predictions for the superpartner spectrum in addition to the usual gaugino mediation predictions: Higgsinos are much heavier (mu > TeV) than scalar Higgses (m_A ~ few hundred GeV), and third generation scalar masses are enhanced because of new positive contributions from Higgs loops.
We investigate unparticle physics with supersymmetry (SUSY). The SUSY breaking effects due to the gravity mediation induce soft masses for the SUSY unparticles and hence break the conformal invariance. The unparticle physics observable in near future experiments is only consistent if the SUSY breaking effects from the hidden sector to the standard model sector are dominated by the gauge mediation, or if the SUSY breaking effects to the unparticle sector is sufficiently sequestered. We argue that the natural realization of the latter possibility is the conformal sequestering scenario.
The light Higgs mass in the MSSM is highly constrained and is predicted to be close to M_Z which causes a tension between the LEP II Higgs mass bound 114 GeV and the natural electroweak symmetry breaking in the MSSM. The usual way to increase the light CP even Higgs mass was to increase the quartic coupling of the up type Higgs. We point out that the light Higgs mass can be increased by reducing the off-diagonal term in the mass matrix when tan beta is moderate, which is about 5 to 10. As a result no mixing and/or a Higgs mixing angle of the opposite sign arises and the branching ratio of Higg…
We provide, in a framework of vector-like gauge theories, concrete models for conformal sequestering of dynamical supersymmetry (SUSY) breaking in the hidden sector. If the sequestering is sufficiently strong, anomaly mediation of the SUSY breaking may give dominant contributions to the mass spectrum of SUSY standard-model particles, leading to negative slepton masses squared. Thus, we also consider a model with gravitational gauge mediation to circumvent the tachyonic slepton problem in pure anomaly mediation models.
We extend our models for conformal sequestering of dynamical supersymmetry breaking with decoupling vector-like matter in several different ways. These extensions enable us to simplify concrete model building, in particular, rendering large gauge group and ad hoc global symmetry for sequestering unnecessary. Conformal sequestering appears highly natural in such circumstances.
Anomaly-mediated supersymmetry breaking in the context of 4D conformally sequestered models is combined with Poppitz-Trivedi D-type gauge-mediation. The implementation of the two mediation mechanisms naturally leads to visible soft masses at the same scale so that they can cooperatively solve the mu and flavor problems of weak scale supersymmetry, as well as the tachyonic slepton problem of pure anomaly-mediation. The tools are developed in a modular fashion for more readily fitting into the general program of optimizing supersymmetric dynamics in hunting for the most attractive weak scale phe…
Supersymmetric Standard Models (SSMs) with Dirac gauginos have the appealing supersoft property that they only cause finite contributions to scalar masses. Considering gauge mediated SUSY breaking with conformal sequestering and assuming there is one and only one fundamental parameter with dimension mass arising from supersymmetry breaking, we find a cancellation between the dominant terms that contribute to the EWFT. The resulting EWFT measure can be of order one even for supersymmetric particle masses and $μ$-terms in the TeV range.
Theories with approximate no-scale structure, such as the Large Volume Scenario, have a distinctive hierarchy of multiple mass scales in between TeV gaugino masses and the Planck scale, which we call SUSY's Ladder. This is a particular realization of Split Supersymmetry in which the same small parameter suppresses gaugino masses relative to scalar soft masses, scalar soft masses relative to the gravitino mass, and the UV cutoff or string scale relative to the Planck scale. This scenario has many phenomenologically interesting properties, and can avoid dangers including the gravitino problem, f…
We study concretely several issues altogether, moduli stabilization, the dynamical supersymmetry (SUSY) breaking, the uplifting of SUSY anti-de Sitter (AdS) vacuum and the sequestering of hidden sector, in a simple supergravity model with a single extra dimension. The sequestering is achieved dynamically by a wavefunction localization in extra dimension. The expressions for the visible sector soft SUSY breaking terms as well as the hidden sector potential are shown explicitly in our model. We find that the tree-level soft scalar mass and the A-term can be suppressed at a SUSY breaking Minkowsk…
The review of the SUSY phenomenology today is given with the emphasis on generic properties of SUSY models, SUSY searches at the LHC and in astrophysics. Due to the absence of any definite SUSY signal at accelerators and other experiments, we describe the allowed regions in the MSSM and NMSSM parameter space and discuss the possibilities of SUSY manifestation in the near future.
Three topics on phenomenology in supersymmetric models are reviewed, namely, the Higgs sector in the supersymmetric model, B and K meson decay in the supergravity model and lepton flavor violation processes in supersymmetric grand unified theory.
We have studied the predictions for the LSP decay within the framework of a radiatively broken unified supergravity model without R-parity. Assuming that Higgs/slepton mixing is the only source of R-parity breaking and responsible for the observed neutrino oscillations we obtain predictons for the LSP life-time and branching fractions.
The presence of fields at an intermediate scale between the Electroweak and the Grand Unification scale modifies the evolution of the gauge couplings and consequently the running of other parameters of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model, such as gauginos and scalar masses. The net effect is a modification of the low energy spectrum which affects both the collider phenomenology and the dark matter relic density.
In this talk I define what I call the minimal SO(10) SUSY model. I then discuss the phenomenological consequences of this theory, vis a vis gauge and Yukawa coupling unification, Higgs and super-particle masses, the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon, the decay $B_s \to μ^+ μ^-$ and dark matter.
I briefly review the physics of the Higgs sector in the Standard Model (SM) and its supersymmetric extension, in particular the MSSM, and discuss the prospects for discovering the Higgs particles at the Large Hadron Collider. Some emphasis will be put on the theoretical developments which occurred in the last few years.
We discuss some aspects of the radiative corrections in the phenomenology of the minimal SUSY standard model, by reviewing two recent studies. (1) The full one-loop corrections to the Higgs boson decays into charginos are presented, with emphasis on the renormalization of the chargino sector, including of their mixing matrices. (2) The two-loop O(alpha_s tan beta) corrections to the b -> s gamma decay in models with large tan beta, mainly those to the charged Higgs boson contributions, are discussed. Exact two-loop result is compared to an approximation used in previous studies.
We propose an extended version of the gauge-mediated SUSY breaking models where extra $SU(2)_L$ doublets and singlet field are introduced. These fields are assumed to be parity-odd under an additional matter parity. In this model, the lightest parity-odd particle among them would be dark matter in the Universe. In this paper, we discuss direct detection of the dark matter and the collider signatures of the model
Among three typical energy scales, a neutrino mass scale ($m_ν\sim$ 0.1 eV), a GUT scale ($M_{GUT}\sim 10^{16}$ GeV), and a TeV-scale ($M_{NP}\sim$ 1 TeV), there is a fascinating relation of $M_{NP}\simeq \sqrt{m_ν\cdot M_{GUT}}$.The TeV-scale, $M_{NP}$, is a new physics scale beyond the standard model which is regarded as "supersymmetry" (SUSY) in this letter. We investigate phenomenology of SUSY SU(5) GUT with neutrinophilic Higgs, which realizes the above relation dynamically as well as the suitable magnitude of Dirac mass, $m_ν$, through a tiny vacuum expectation value of neutrinophilic Hi…
We review our recent studies on the effects of CP-violating supersymmetric (SUSY) parameters on the phenomenology of neutralinos, charginos and third generation squarks. The CP-even branching ratios of the squarks show a pronounced dependence on the phases of A_t, A_b, mu and M_1 in a large region of the supersymmetric parameter space, which can be used to get information on these phases. In addition we have studied CP-odd observables, like asymmetries based on triple product correlations. In neutralino and chargino production with subsequent three-body decays these asymmetries can be as large…
We survey strategies generally employed for SUSY discovery at colliders and then discuss how these may have to be altered for SUSY searches at the Tevatron if $\tanβ$ is large. We also discuss the reach of the Tevatron and the LHC in gauge-mediated SUSY breaking scenarios, assuming that the NLSP decays into photons. Finally, we briefly recapitulate measurements (which serve to guide us to the underlying theory) that might be possible at future colliders if supersymmetry is discovered.
We suggest a natural split mechanism for sfermions based on $N$=2 supersymmetry (SUSY). $N$=2 SUSY protects a sfermion in an $N$=2 multiplet from gaining weight by SUSY breaking. Therefore, if partly $N$=2 SUSY is effectively obtained, a split spectrum can be realized naturally. As an example of the natural split mechanism, we build a gauge-mediated SUSY breaking-like model assuming $N$=2 SUSY is partly broken in a UV theory. The model explains the Higgs boson mass and the muon anomalous magnetic dipole moment within $1~σ$ level with a splitting sfermion spectrum. The model has seven light spa…
Supersymmetric (SUSY) models with heavy sfermions ($m_{\tilde{f}} \sim 10$ TeV) in the first two generations and the third generation sfermion masses below 1 TeV can solve the SUSY flavor and the CP problems as well as satisfy naturalness constraints. We study the phenomenology of a string-inspired scenario and compare it with the minimal supergravity unified model (mSUGRA). The SUSY trilepton signature at the upgraded Tevatron, the $b\to sγ$ branching fraction and the neutralino dark matter relic density in this model can differ significantly from the mSUGRA model.
In this letter we consider the distinctive phenomenology of supersymmetric models in which the scale of SUSY breaking is very low, \sqrt{F}= O(TeV), focusing on the Higgs sector and the process of electroweak breaking. Using an effective Lagrangian description of the interactions between the observable fields and the SUSY breaking sector, it is shown how the conventional MSSM picture can be substantially modified. For instance, the Higgs potential has non-negligible SUSY breaking quartic couplings that can modify completely the pattern of electroweak breaking and the Higgs spectrum with respec…
High precision electroweak tests, such as deviations from the Standard Model expectations of the Lepton Flavor Universality breaking in K->lnu (with l= e or mu), represent a powerful tool to test the Standard Model and, hence, to constrain or obtain indirect hints of New Physics beyond it. We explore such a possibility within Supersymmetric theories. Interestingly enough, a process that in itself does not need lepton flavor violation to occur, i.e. the violation of mu-e non-universality in K_l2, proves to be quite effective in constraining not only relevant regions of SUSY models where lepton …
We review some recent results and future prospects in the phenomenology of Supersymmmetry. We discuss the searches for superpartner states, the searches for Higgs bosons in the minimal SUSY model, and additional parameter constraints arising in SUSY-GUT models.
We discuss the consequences of relaxing the Minimal Flavour Violation assumption in the up-squark sector on the phenomenology of SUSY models. We study the impact of the off-diagonal entries in the soft SUSY-breaking matrices on the mass of the lightest Higgs scalar and we derive the approximate analytical formulae that quantify this effect. We show that $m_h$ can be enhanced by up to 13-14 GeV in the case of the phenomenological MSSM with the inverted hierarchy of masses in the squark sector and zero stop mixing, and up to 4-5 GeV in GUT-constrained scenarios where the magnitude of the enhance…
I introduce a new low energy effective description of Cosmological SUSY breaking. It requires the existence of a strongly interacting gauge theory at a scale of order $10^3$ GeV, some of whose fields carry standard model quantum numbers. SUSY breaking is communicated to the standard model through gaugino masses and the Higgs multiplets. The model also provides a possible new solution of the strong CP problem
We study models in which supersymmetry breaking appears at an intermediate scale, M_in, below the GUT scale. That is, that the soft supersymmetry-breaking parameters of the MSSM are universal at M_in. We demand that the lightest neutralino be the LSP, and that the relic neutralino density not conflict with measurements by WMAP and others, and study the morphology of this constraint as the universality scale is reduced from the GUT scale. At moderate values of M_in, we find that the allowed regions of the (m_1/2,m_0) plane are squeezed by the requirements of electroweak symmetry breaking and th…
A general coupling of the Goldstino to the matter field and the weak gravitational field is constructed based on the standard and the nonlinear Volkov-Akulov realization of SUSY. The resulting Lagrangian, which is invariant under SUSY transformations, can give rise to explicit interactions which couple the helicity +-1/2 states of the gravitino with the gravitational field as well as the matter field.
We study SUSY phenomenology of the KKLT (Kachru-Kallosh-Linde-Trivedi) scenario of string theory compactifications with fluxes. This setup leads to a specific pattern of soft masses and distinct phenomenological properties. In particular, it avoids the cosmological gravitino/moduli problems. Remarkably, the model allows for the correct abundance of SUSY dark matter consistently with all experimental constraints including the bound on the Higgs mass, b-->s gamma, etc. This occurs for both small and large tan beta, and requires the SUSY spectrum above 1 TeV.
We review aspects of the phenomenology of the MSSM with non-minimal flavour violation, including a discussion of important constraints and the sensitivity to fundamental scales.
We review the consequences of spontaneously broken R-parity in present and planned lepton-lepton colliders. In the left-right models the R-parity, $R=(-1)^{3(B-L)+2S}$, is preserved due to the gauge symmetry, but it must be spontaneously broken in order to the scalar spectrum to be physically consistent. The spontaneous breaking is generated via a non-vanishing VEV of at least one of the sneutrinos, which necessarily means non-conservation of lepton number $L$. The R-parity violating couplings are parametrized in terms of mixing angles, whose values depend on model parameters. Combined with th…
We study the impact of a type-I SUSY seesaw concerning lepton flavour violation (LFV) at low-energies and at the LHC. At the LHC, $ χ_2^0\to \tilde \ell \,\ell \to \ell \,\ell\,χ_1^0$ decays, in combination with other observables, render feasible the reconstruction of the masses of the intermediate sleptons, and hence the study of $\ell_i - \ell_j$ mass differences. If interpreted as being due to the violation of lepton flavour, high-energy observables, such as large slepton mass splittings and flavour violating neutralino and slepton decays, are expected to be accompanied by low-energy manife…
We study gauge coupling unification and various phenomenological issues, such as baryon number conservation, the $μ$ problem and neutrino anomalies, within SUSY 5D orbifold models. The 5D MSSM on an $S^{(1)}/Z_2$ orbifold with 'minimal' field content does not lead to low scale unification, while some of its extensions can give unification near the multi TeV scale. Within the orbifold SU(5) GUT, low scale unification can not be realized due to full SU(5) multiplets participating in the renormalization above the compactification scale. As alternative examples, we construct 5D N=1 SUSY Pati-Salam…
Theoretical overview on phenomenology of Higgs boson and SUSY Higgs boson at a future linear collider experiment is given as a Higgs and SUSY Higgs working group summary report for LCWS 2000.
In this paper we study the experimental consequences of a theory which naturally has a heavy, stable (or almost stable) gluino. We define the boundary conditions at a messenger scale $M \sim 10^{14}$ GeV which lead to this alternative phenomenologically acceptable version of the minimal supersymmetric standard model. In this theory, either the gluino or the gravitino is the lightest supersymmetric particle [LSP]. If the gravitino is the LSP, then the gluino is the next-to-LSP with a lifetime on the order of 100 years. In either case, the gluino is (for all practical purposes) a stable particle…
The presence of new matter fields charged under the Standard Model gauge group at intermediate scales below the Grand Unification scale modifies the renormalization group evolution of the gauge couplings. This can in turn significantly change the running of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model parameters, in particular the gaugino and the scalar masses. In the absence of new large Yukawa couplings we can parameterise all the intermediate scale models in terms of only two parameters controlling the size of the unified gauge coupling. As a consequence of the modified running, the low energy…
We document major new features and improvements of FlexibleSUSY, a Mathematica and C++ package with a dependency on the external package SARAH, that generates fast and precise spectrum generators. The extensions presented here significantly increase the generality and capabilities of the FlexibleSUSY package, which already works with a wide class of models, while maintaining an elegant structure and easy to use interfaces. The FlexibleBSM extension makes it possible to also create spectrum generators for non-supersymmetric extensions of the Standard Model. The FlexibleCPV extension adds the op…
We perform an extensive study of FCNC and CP Violation within Supersymmetric (SUSY) theories with particular emphasis put on processes governed by b->s transitions and of their correlations with processes governed by b->d transitions, s->d transitions, $D^0-\bar D^0$ oscillations, lepton flavour violating decays, electric dipole moments and (g-2)_mu. We first perform a comprehensive model-independent analysis of Delta F=2 observables and we emphasize the usefulness of the R_b-gamma plane in exhibiting transparently various tensions in the present UT analyses. Secondly, we consider a number of …
We thoroughly discuss a new supersymmetric grand unified scenario of the triplet seesaw mechanism where the exchange of heavy SU(2)_W triplet states generates both neutrino masses and soft supersymmetry breaking terms. This framework, recently proposed by us in a previous work, is highly predictive since it contains only three free parameters connecting low-energy neutrino parameters, lepton and quark flavour violation, sparticle and Higgs boson spectra and electroweak symmetry breakdown. These three parameters are the triplet mass M_T, the effective supersymmetry breaking scale B_T and a coup…
We consider a supersymmetric SU(5) model where two neutrino masses are obtained via a mixed type I+III seesaw mechanism induced by the component fields of a single SU(5) adjoint. We have analyzed the phenomenology of the model paying particular attention to flavour violating processes and dark matter relic density, assuming universal boundary conditions. We have found that, for a seesaw scale larger than $10^{12÷13}$ GeV, BR$(μ\to e γ)$ is in the reach of the MEG experiment in sizable regions of the parameter space. On the other side, current bounds on it force BR$(τ\to μγ)$ to be well below t…
Group theoretical factors from GUT symmetry breaking can lead to predictions for the ratios of quark and lepton masses (or Yukawa couplings) at the unification scale. Due to supersymmetric (SUSY) threshold corrections the viability of such predictions can depend strongly on the SUSY parameters. For three common minimal SUSY breaking scenarios with anomaly, gauge and gravity mediation we investigate which GUT scale ratios $m_e/m_d$, $m_μ/m_s$, $y_τ/y_b$ and $y_t/y_b$ are allowed when phenomenological constraints from electroweak precision observables, $B$ physics, $(g-2)_μ$, mass-limits on spar…
We revisit the eleven dimension Planck scale, the physical scale of the eleventh dimension, the physical scale of Calabi-Yau manifold and coupling in hidden sector in M-theory on $S^1/Z_2$. And we discuss the reasonable bound on them. Considering F-term of dilaton and moduli SUSY breaking and choosing two repersentative points which correspond to scalar quasi-massless scenario and dilaton dominant SUSY breaking scenario respectively, we analyze experimental constraints to the parameter space. The sparticle spectrum and some phenomenological predictions are also given.
The phenomenology of a new economical SUSY model that utilizes dynamical SUSY breaking and gauge-mediation (GM) for the generation of the sparticle spectrum and the hierarchy of fermion masses is discussed. Similarities between the communication of SUSY breaking through a messenger sector, and the generation of flavor using the Froggatt-Nielsen (FN) mechanism are exploited, leading to the identification of vector-like messenger fields with FN fields, and the messenger U(1) as a flavor symmetry. An immediate consequence is that the first and second generation scalars acquire flavor-dependent ma…
The SUSY-GUT paradigm is the most promising scenario for the physics beyond the Standard Model. After the LHC run I, it is of interest to reanalyze the room still remaining for SUSY-GUT inspired models and to study the limits on the SUSY mass spectrum. Assuming one step unification of gauge couplings, under some natural requirements we have obtained the energy upper bound for the observation of SUSY phenomenology. We found that in the SUSY-GUT framework the mass of lightest gluino or Higgsino cannot be larger than about 20 TeV.
This dissertation focuses on phenomenological studies for possible signals for supersymmetric events at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). We have divided our endeavours into three separate projects. First, we consider SUSY models where the gluino production at the LHC should be rich in top and bottom quark jets. Requiring $b$-jets in addition to missing energy $\eslt$ should, therefore, enhance the supersymmetry signal relative to Standard Model backgrounds. We quantify the increase in the supersymmetry reach of the LHC from $b$-tagging in a variety of well-motivated models of supersymmetry. We…
We consider collider signatures of the exceptional supersymmetric (SUSY) standard model (E6SSM). This E6 inspired SUSY model is based on the SM gauge group together with an extra U(1) gauge symmetry under which right--handed neutrinos have zero charge. To ensure anomaly cancellation and gauge coupling unification the low energy matter content of the E6SSM involve extra exotic matter beyond the MSSM. We discuss the collider signatures associated with the production of new particles predicted by the E6SSM and consider the implications of this model for dark matter and Higgs phenomenology. Since …
I review selected topics in supersymmetry, including: effects of non-universality, high $\tanb$ and phases on SUSY signals; a heavy gluino as the LSP; gauge-mediated SUSY signals involving delayed decays; R-parity violation and the very worst case for SUSY discovery; some topics regarding Higgs bosons in supersymmetry; and doubly-charged Higgs and higgsinos in supersymmetric left-right symmetric models. I emphasize scenarios in which detectionof supersymmetric particles and/or the SUSY Higgs bosons might require special experimental and/or analysis techniques.
The scalar particle recently discovered at the LHC has the same gauge quantum numbers as the neutrino, so they could be one the superpartner of the other. We discuss the conditions that should be satisfied in order to realize such identification and present a model where this is realized. This model possesses an interesting phenomenology that we present here.
These lectures are a very brief introduction to low energy supersymmetry (SUSY). The approach to the construction of SUSY Lagrangians based on the superfield formalism is considered. The minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) is specified. The breakdown of gauge symmetry and Higgs phenomenology within the simplest SUSY extensions of the standard model (SM) are briefly reviewed. The upper bound on the mass of the lightest Higgs boson and little hierarchy problem in SUSY models are discussed.
We examine supersymmetric models with mixed modulus-anomaly mediated SUSY breaking (MM-AMSB) soft terms which get comparable contributions to SUSY breaking from moduli-mediation and anomaly-mediation. The apparent (mirage) unification of soft SUSY breaking terms at Q=mu_mir not associated with any physical threshold is the hallmark of this scenario. The MM-AMSB structure of soft terms arises in models of string compactification with fluxes, where the addition of an anti-brane leads to an uplifting potential and a de Sitter universe, as first constructed by Kachru {\it et al.}. The phenomenolog…
We investigate the split supersymmetry (SUSY) scenario recently proposed by Arkani-Hamed and Dimopoulos, where the scalars are heavy but the fermions are within the TeV range. We show that the sparticle spectrum in such a case crucially depends on the specific details of the mechanism underlying the SUSY breaking scheme, and the accelerator signals are also affected by it. In particular, we demonstrate in the context of a braneworld-inspired model, used as illustration in the original work, that a new fermion $ψ_X$, arising from the SUSY breaking sector, is shown to control low-energy phenomen…
I review the Higgs sector of the $U(1)_{B-L}$ extension of the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM). I will show that the gauge kinetic mixing plays a crucial role in the Higgs phenomenology. Two light bosons are present, a MSSM-like one and a $B-L$-like one, that mix at one loop solely due to the gauge mixing. After briefly looking at constraints from flavour observables, new decay channels involving right-handed (s)neutrinos are presented. Finally, it will be reviewed how model features pertaining to the gauge extension affect the model phenomenology, concerning the existence of R-Pa…
When SUSY breaking produces only dimension-2 terms in the minimal supersymmetric standard model, the parameters of the theory can be rather well constrained. This paper deals with strategies for the detection of the new hadrons predicted in the 1-3 GeV mass range. Some limits are obtained. New signatures for squarks are also given. Squark masses as small as 45 GeV are not yet excluded.
We study supersymmetric models with a GUT-sized extra dimension, where both the Higgs fields and the SUSY breaking hidden sector are localized on a 4D brane. Exponential wave function profiles of the matter fields give rise to hierarchical structures in the Yukawa couplings and soft terms. Such structures can naturally explain hierarchical fermion masses and mixings, while at the same time alleviating the supersymmetric flavour problem. We discuss two sources of supersymmetry breaking, radion mediation and brane fields, and perform a detailed numerical analysis, thoroughly taking into account …
Left-right symmetric extensions of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model can explain neutrino data and have potentially interesting phenomenology beyond that found in minimal SUSY seesaw models. Here we study a SUSY model in which the left-right symmetry is broken by triplets at a high scale, but significantly below the GUT scale. Sparticle spectra in this model differ from the usual constrained MSSM expectations and these changes affect the relic abundance of the lightest neutralino. We discuss changes for the standard stau (and stop) co-annihilation, the Higgs funnel and the focus point …
We examine the supersymmetry phenomenology of a novel scenario of supersymmetry (SUSY) breaking which we call Gaugino Anomaly Mediation, or inoAMSB. This is suggested by recent work on the phenomenology of flux compactified type IIB string theory. The essential features of this scenario are that the gaugino masses are of the anomaly-mediated SUSY breaking (AMSB) form, while scalar and trilinear soft SUSY breaking terms are highly suppressed. Renormalization group effects yield an allowable sparticle mass spectrum, while at the same time avoiding charged LSPs; the latter are common in models wi…
We analyze the theory and phenomenology of anomalous global chiral symmetries in the presence of an extra dimension. We propose a simple extension of the Standard Model in 5D whose signatures closely resemble those of supersymmetry with gauge mediation, and we suggest a novel scalar dark matter candidate.
