We examine the electromagnetic properties of the Delta(1232) resonance within the self-consistent chiral quark-soliton model. In particular we present the Delta form factors of the vector-current GE0, GE2 and GM1 for a momentum-transfer range of $Q^{2} \leq 1GeV^{2}$. We apply the symmetry-conserving quantization of the soliton and take 1/N_c rotational corrections into account. Values for the magnetic moments of all decuplet baryons as well as for the N-Delta transition are given. Special interest is also given to the electric quadrupole moment of the Delta.
Systematic treatment of the collective rotation of the nonrigid chiral soliton is developed in the SU(3) chiral quark soliton model and applied to the octet and decuplet baryons. The strangeness degrees of freedom are treated by a simplified bound-state approach which omits the locality of the kaon wave function. Then, the flavor rotation is divided into the isospin rotation and the emission and absorption of the kaon. The kaon Hamiltonian is diagonalized by the Hartree approximation. The soliton changes the shape according to the strangeness. The baryons appear as the rotational bands of the …
Mesonic fluctuations around the chiral solitons are investigated in the SU(3) chiral quark soliton model. Since the soliton takes the non-hedgehog shape for the hyperons and the hedgehog one for the non-hedgehog baryons in our approach, the fluctuations also change according to the baryonic state. The quantum corrections to the masses (the Casimir energies) are estimated for the octet and decuplet baryons. The lack of the confinement in this model demands the cutoff on the energy of the fluctuations. Under the assumption that the value of the cutoff energy is $2\times$(the lightest constituent…
We investigate the electric form factors and charge radii of the pentaquark baryons within the framework of the chiral quark-soliton model. We consider the rotational $1/N_c$ and linear $m_s$ corrections, assuming isospin symmetry and employing the symmetry-conserving quantization. The flavor-decomposed charge densities of the $Θ^+$ are presented. The electric form factors and charge radii of the charged pentaquark baryons turn out to be very similar to those of the corresponding octet baryons. The charge radii of the neutral pentaquark baryons are obtained to be very tiny and positive. The st…
We reanalyse the magnetic moments of the baryon octet, decuplet, and antidecuplet within the framework of the chiral quark-soliton model, with SU(3) symmetry breaking taken into account. We consider the contributions of the mixing of higher representations to the magnetic moment operator arising from the SU(3) symmetry breaking. Dynamical parameters of the model are fixed by experimental data for the magnetic moments of the baryon octet and from the masses of the octet, decuplet and of $Θ^{+}$. The magnetic moment of $Θ^{+}$ depends rather strongly on the pion-nucleon sigma term and reads $-1.…
Magnetic moments of baryons are studied within the chiral quark soliton model with special emphasis on the decuplet of baryons. The model is used to identify all symmetry breaking terms proportional to $m_{\rm s}$. Sum rules for the magnetic moments are derived. A ``model-independent'' analysis of the symmetry breaking terms is performed and finally model calculations are presented, which show the importance of the rotational $1/N_{\rm c}$ corrections for cranking of the soliton.
We emphasize the importance of identifying non-exotic SU(3) partners of the Theta^+ pentaquark, and indicate possible ways how to do it. We also use the soliton picture of baryons to relate Reggeon couplings of various baryons. These relations are used to estimate the Theta^+ production cross section in high energy processes. We show that the corresponding cross sections are significantly suppressed relative to the production cross sections of usual baryons. Finally, we present spin non-flip form factors of the anti-decuplet baryons in the framework of the chiral quark soliton model.
We revisit the mass splittings of SU(3) baryons, taking into account the second-order effects of isospin and SU(3) flavor symmetry breakings within the framework of a chiral soliton model. The masses of the baryon decuplet turn out to be improved, compared to those with the first-order corrections. The mass of the N^* as a member of the baryon antidecuplet is obtained as M_{n^*}=1687 MeV, which is in agreement with the recent experimental data. The pion-nucleon sigma term becomes Σ_{πN}=(50.5\pm 5.4) MeV.
We suggest an effective quark model for low-lying baryon octet and decuplet motivated by QCD with a linearly rising confinement potential incorporating the extended Nambu-Jona-Lasinio (ENJL) model with linear realization of chiral U(3)XU(3) symmetry. Baryons are considered as external heavy states coupled to local three-quark currents with fixed spinorial structure and to low-lying mesons through quark-meson interactions defined in the ENJL--model. In the constituent quark loop representation we have calculated the coupling constants of the (pi NN), (pi N Delta) and (gamma N Delta) interaction…
We predict an exotic Z^+ baryon (having spin 1/2, isospin 0 and strangeness +1) with a relatively low mass of about 1530 MeV and total width of less than 15 MeV. It seems that this region of masses has avoided thorough searches in the past.
We recalculate masses and widths of anti-decuplet baryons in the case of positive parity from chiral soliton models, provided that the member $Ξ_{3/2}$ of the anti-decuplet has a mass 1.86 GeV as reported recently. Calculations show that there are no convincing candidates for the nonexotic members of the anti-decuplet available in the baryon listings. Up to the leading order of $m_s$ and 1/$N_c$, the width formula for the decay of the anti-decuplet baryons to the octet depends only on SU(3) symmetry model-independently, except the coupling constant. Similarly we give a width formula for the de…
A suitable wave function for baryon decuplet is framed with inclusion of sea containing quark- gluon Fock states. Relevant operator formalism is applied to calculate magnetic moments of JP = 3 2 + baryon decuplet. Statistical model assumes decomposition of baryonic state in various quark-gluon Fock states such as jqqqijgi; jqqqijggi; jqqqijgggi with possibility gluon emitting qq pairs condensates due to the subprocesses like g , qq; g , gg and g , qg where qq = uu; dd; ss. Statistical approach and detailed balance principle in combination is used to find the relative probabilities of these Foc…
The profile functions of the SU(3) Skyrme soliton are investigated for the octet, decuplet, and antidecuplet baryons by the mean field approach. In this approach, the profile functions are affected by the spatial rotation, the flavor rotation, and the flavor symmetry breaking. The solitons are stable only in the restricted areas of the parameter space for each multiplet. When the flavor symmetry breaking is large, the area for the antidecuplet is narrow compared to those for the octet and decuplet. The parameters are determined by the baryon mass spectrum, and the deformation of the soliton ha…
After a quick look at the present status of experiments we shortly review in a first step the ongoing discussions on some of the basic theoretical approaches to pentaquarks: Chiral solitons, Large-$N_c$ considerations, quark models, and lattice gauge approaches. In a second step we apply the chiral quark-soliton approach including linear $m_s$-corrections to the calculation of magnetic moments of the baryons of the anti-decuplet. In this approach the parameters are fixed solely by experimental data for the magnetic moments of the baryon octet and for the masses of the octet, decuplet and of $Θ…
Within the hadronic language of Chiral Perturbation Theory we present the full leading-order octet-baryon$-$meson and decuplet-baryon$-$meson contribution to the proton self energy and thus to its wave function renormalization factor $Z$. By Fock-expanding the physical proton state into its bare and hadron-cloud part, we show how each individual baryon-meson probability depend on the average momenta of the particles in the fluctuation. We present how the results depend on the choice of the form factor involved in the regularization (Gaussian or Besselian) and how they depend on the cut-off par…
The axial-vector form factors and axial-vector constants of the baryon decuplet are investigated within a pion mean-field approach, which is also known as the chiral quark-soliton model. Given an axial-vector current with a specified flavor, there are four different form factors of a decuplet baryon. When we consider the singlet, triplet, and octet axial-vector currents, we have twelve different form factors for each member of the baryon decuplet. We compute all these axial-vector form factors of the baryon decuplet, taking into account the rotational $1/N_c$ corrections and effects of flavor …
We investigate the electromagnetic form factors of the baryon decuplet within the framework of the $\mathrm{SU(3)}$ self-consistent chiral quark-soliton model, taking into account the $1/N_c$ rotational corrections and the effects of flavor $\mathrm{SU(3)}$ symmetry breaking. We first examine the valence- and sea-quark contributions to each electromagnetic form factor of the baryon decuplet and then the effects of the flavor SU(3) symmetry breaking. The present results are in good agreement with the recent lattice data. We also compute the charge radii, the magnetic radii, the magnetic dipole …
We investigate the singlet $g_T^{(0)}$ and isovector $g_T^{(3)}$ tensor charges of the nucleon, which are deeply related to the first moment of the leading twist transversity quark distribution $h_1(x)$, in the chiral quark-soliton model. With rotational $O(1/N_c) $ corrections taken into account, we obtain $g_T^{(0)}=0.69$ and $g_T^{(3)}=1.45$ at a low normalization poin of several hundreds MeV. Within the same approximation and parameters the model yields $g_A^{(0)}=0.36$, $g_A^{(3)}=1.21$ for axial charges and correct octet--decuplet mass splitting. We show how the chiral quark-soliton mode…
We investigate the singlet $g_T^{(0)}$ and isovector $g_T^{(3)}$ tensor charges of the nucleon, which are deeply related to the first moment of the leading twist transversity quark distribution $h_1(x)$, in the SU(2) chiral quark-soliton model. With rotational $O(1/N_c)$ corrections taken into account, we obtain $g_T^{(0)}=0.69$ and $g_T^{(3)}=1.45$ at a low normalization point of several hundreds MeV. Within the same approximation and parameters the model yields $g_A^{(0)}=0.36$, $g_A^{(3)}=1.21$ for axial charges and correct octet--decuplet mass splitting. We show how the chiral quark-solito…
We have used the light-cone formulation of Chiral-Quark Soliton Model to investigate the vector and axial content of octet, decuplet and the hypothetical antidecuplet in the flavor SU(3) symmetry limit. We have extended previous works by computing the 7Q contribution to vector and axial charges for the octet and antidecuplet but stayed at the 5Q sector for the decuplet where the full computation needs much more time. As expected the 7Q component has a weaker impact on the quantities but still changes them by a few percent. We give also a detailed decomposition of those charges into flavor, val…
Hedgehog model predictions for the leading nonanalytic behavior (in $m^{2}_{π}$) of certain observables are shown to agree with the predictions of chiral perturbation theory up to an overall factor which depends on the operator. This factor can be understood in terms of contributions of the $Δ$ isobar in chiral loops. These physically motivated contributions are analyzed in an expansion in which both $m_π$ and $M_Δ-M_N$ are taken as small parameters, and are shown to yield large corrections to both hedgehog models and chiral perturbation theory.
We investigate the electromagnetic mass differences of SU(3) baryons, using an "model-independent approach" within a chiral soliton model. The electromagnetic self-energy corrections to the masses of the baryon are expressed as the baryonic two-point correlation function of the electromagnetic currents. Using the fact that the electromagnetic current can be treated as an octet operator, and considering possible irreducible representations of the correlation function, we are able to construct a general collective operator for the electromagnetic self-energies, which consists of three unknown pa…
We investigate the electromagnetic transition form factors of the baryon decuplet to the baryon octet, based on the self-consistent SU(3) chiral quark-soliton model, taking into account the effects of explicit breaking of flavor SU(3) symmetry. We emphasize the $Q^2$ dependence of the electromagnetic $N\to Δ$ transition form factors and the ratios of $E2/M1$ and $C2/M1$ in comparison with the experimental and empirical data. In order to compare the present results of the electromagnetic transition form factors of the $N\to Δ$ with those from lattice QCD, we evaluate the form factors with the p…
Considering simultaneously isospin and SU(3) flavor symmetry breakings, we investigate the complete mass splittings of SU(3) baryons within a chiral soliton model, a {}"model-independent approach" being employed. In linear order several new mass relations are derived, which are mostly generalizations of existing mass formulae. The dynamical quantities appearing in the expressions for the masses are fixed by fitting them to the masses of the baryon octet and the masses of $Ω^{-}$ and $Θ^{+}$ as input rather than by extracting them from a calculated self-consistent soliton profile. In particular…
We investigate the axial-vector transition constants of the baryon antidecuplet to the octet and decuplet within the framework of the self-consistent SU(3) chiral quark-soliton model. Taking into account rotational 1/N_c and linear m_s corrections and using the symmetry-conserving quantization, we calculate the axial-vector transition constants. It is found that the leading-order contributions are generally almost canceled by the rotational 1/N_c corrections. Thus, the m_s corrections turn out to be essential contributions to the axial-vector constants. The decay width of the Theta^+ to NK tra…
We investigate the axial-vector transition form factors of the baryon octet to the baryon decuplet within the framework of the chiral quark-soliton model, with the effects of flavor SU(3) symmetry breaking included. We consider the rotational $1/N_c$ corrections and regard the strange current quark mass as a perturbation. We compare the present results for the $Δ\to N$ axial-vector transition with those from other models and lattice QCD. We also compute all possible axial-vector transitions from the baryon decuplet to the octet with the strangeness changed, i.e., $|ΔS|=1$. We obtain the value …
The Nambu - Jona-Lasinio model in its SU(2) and SU(3) versions with scalar and pseudoscalar coupling are applied to baryons. The parameters of the model are fixed in the meson sector. The baryons arise as a soliton of three valence quarks coupled to the Dirac sea (quark-antiquarks pairs). Within the SU(2) version the nucleon static properties as well as some form factors, namely, the electric and axial ones are described quite successfully. The nucleon-delta splitting comes out reasonable. In medium the nucleonic soliton gets less stable -- the mass is reduced whereas the radius increases. At …
We investigate the quark spin content of the SU(3) baryon octet, decuplet, antitriplet, and sextet in a pion mean-field approach or the chiral quark-soliton model, considering the $1/N_c$ rotational corrections and SU(3) symmetry breaking effects. We compare the present results with those from various theoretical works and lattice QCD.
The inclusion of two-body exchange currents in the constituent quark model leads to new relations between the electromagnetic properties of octet and decuplet baryons. In particular, the N->Delta quadrupole transition form factor can be expressed in terms of the neutron charge form factor.
We re-analyze the predictions of chiral-soliton models for the masses and decay widths of baryons in the exotic antidecuplet of flavour SU(3). The calculated ranges of the chiral-soliton moment of inertia and the π-nucleon scattering Σterm are used together with the observed baryon octet and decuplet mass splittings to estimate 1430 MeV < m_{Θ^+} < 1660 MeV} and 1790 MeV < m_{Ξ^{--}} < 1970 MeV. These are consistent with the masses reported recently, but more precise predictions rely on ambiguous identifications of non-exotic baryon resonances. The overall decay rates of antidecuplet states ar…
We investigate the strong coupling constants for the baryon octet-octet, decuplet-octet, and decuplet-decuplet vertices with pseudoscalar mesons within a general framework of the chiral quark-soliton model, taking into account the effects of flavor SU(3) symmetry breaking to linear order in the expansion of the strange current quark mass. All relevant dynamical parameters are fixed by using the experimental data on hyperon semileptonic decays and the singlet axial-vector constant of the nucleon. The results of the strong coupling constants for the baryon octet and the pseudoscalar meson octet …
We have used the Chiral-Quark Soliton Model formulated in the Infinite Momentum Frame to investigate the octet, decuplet and antidecuplet tensor charges up to the 5Q level. Using flavor SU(3) symmetry we have obtained for the proton $δu=1.172$ and $δd=-0.315$ in fair agreement previous model estimations. The 5Q allowed us to estimate also the strange contribution to the proton tensor charge $δs=-0.011$. All those values have been obtained at the model scale Q^2=0.36 GeV^2.
Within the chiral soliton model the SU(3) breaking collective hamiltonian introduces representation mixing in the baryonic wave functions. We calculate ${\cal{O}}(m_s)$ effects of this mixing on the decay widths of decuplet and antidecuplet baryons. We find importance of the 27-plet admixture in the $Θ^+$ and $Ξ_{\bar{10}}$ decays. The role of the $1/N_c$ nonleading terms in ${\cal{O}}(m_s)$ transition matrix elements is discussed.
We use the perturbation method to calculate the masses and widths for 27-plet baryons with spin 3/2 from chiral soliton models. According to the masses and quantum numbers, we find all the candidates for non-exotic members of 27-plet. The calculation of the widths shows that these candidates manifest an approximate symmetry of the 27 representation of the SU(3) group, and the quantum numbers of $Ξ(1950)$ seem to be $I(J^P)={1/2}({3/2}^+)$. Up to leading order of the strange quark mass, we find that the exotic members have widths much larger than those of the anti-decuplet members.
The present review gives a survey of recent developments and applications of the Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model with $N_f=2$ and $N_f=3$ quark flavors for the structure of baryons. The model is an effective chiral quark theory which incorporates the SU(N$_f$)$_L\otimes$SU(N$_f$)$_R\otimes$U(1)$_V$ approximate symmetry of Quantum chromodynamics. The approach describes the spontaneous chiral symmetry breaking and dynamical quark mass generation. Mesons appear as quark-antiquark excitations and baryons arise as non-topological solitons with three valence quarks and a polarized Dirac sea. For the evalu…
The multipole amplitudes for the N - Delta electromagnetic transition are computed in the framework of the linear sigma model and the chiral chromodielectric model for small and moderate photon virtualities. The models include quark and meson degrees of freedom and the nucleon and the delta are clusters of three valence hedgehog quarks surrounded by meson clouds described by coherent states. Angular momentum and isospin projections are performed to endow model states representing the nucleon and the delta with proper quantum numbers. Recoil corrections involved in the process $γ_{\rm v} N \to …
The chirally-odd twist-3 nucleon distribution e(x) is studied in the large-Nc limit in the framework of the chiral quark-soliton model at a low normalization point of about 0.6 GeV. The remarkable result is that in the model e(x) contains a delta-function-type singularity at x=0. The regular part of e(x) is found to be sizeable at the low scale of the model and in qualitative agreement with bag model calculations.
We present an extensive study of the static properties of light exotic and non-exotic baryons, based on the formulation of chiral quark-soliton model in terms of light-cone wave functions. We discuss in particular vector, axial and tensor charges as well as an estimation of the electromagnetic moments for the baryon octet, decuplet and hypothetical antidecuplet. Contributions from Fock components up to the seven-quark sector are considered and appear to be sizeable, reflecting the importance of the pion cloud. All these observables are further decomposed into flavor, valence quark, sea quark a…
The semiclassical SU(3) Skyrme model is traditionally considered as describing a rigid quantum rotator with the profile function being fixed by the classical solution of the corresponding SU(2) Skyrme model. In contrast, we go beyond the classical profile function by quantizing the SU(3) Skyrme model canonically. The quantization of the model is performed in terms of the collective coordinate formalism and leads to the establishment of purely quantum corrections of the model. These new corrections are of fundamental importance. They are crucial in obtaining stable quantum solitons of the quant…
We investigate the hyperon semileptonic decay constants, $f_2/f_1$, and $g_1/f_1$, within a general framework of a chiral soliton model. All relevant parameters for the SU(3) baryon wave functions were unambiguously determined by using the experimental data for the masses of the baryon octet and the decuplet. Using then the existing experimental data for the magnetic moments of the baryon octet and the decay constants of hyperon semileptonic decays, we are able to determine all the hyperon semileptonic decay constants $f_2/f_1$ and $g_1/f_1$ of the baryon octet unequivocally. In addition, we a…
We investigate the monopole excitations of the soliton in the Nambu--Jona--Lasinio model. By studying the solutions to the corresponding Bethe--Salpeter equation in the background of the soliton we exclude the existence of real large amplitude fluctuations. This allows us to treat the collective coordinate for the monopole excitations, which parametrizes the extension of the soliton, in the harmonic approximation. The canonical quantization of this coordinate yields a spectrum which agrees reasonably well with the empirical data for the Roper resonance, N(1440), and the corresponding one for t…
Electro magnetic transition form factors for the excitation of the Delta33-resonance are evaluated in the Skyrme model. They crucially rely on rotationally induced deformations of the hedgehog soliton which are suppressed by two N_C-orders as compared to the leading parts of the isovector current. Partial photon coupling through vector mesons is included in a schematic way. Recoil corrections are approximated by a boost to the equal-velocity frame. The results for the photodecay amplitudes agree with experimental numbers and the shapes of M1, E2, C2 - transition form factors show essential fea…
We calculate the electric quadrupole to magnetic dipole transition ratio $E2/M1$ for the reaction $γN \ra Δ(1232)$ in the chiral quark soliton model. The calculated $E2/M1$ ratio is in a good agreement with the very new experimental data. We obtain non-zero negative value for the electric quadrupole $N-Δ$ transition moment, which suggests an oblate deformed charge structure of the nucleon or/and the delta isobar. Other observables related to this quantity, namely the $N-Δ$ mass splitting, the isovector charge radius, and isovector magnetic moment, are properly reproduced as well.
We present the results of a third order calculation of the pion-nucleon scattering amplitude in a chiral effective field theory with pions, nucleons and delta resonances as explicit degrees of freedom. We work in a manifestly Lorentz invariant formulation of baryon chiral perturbation theory using dimensional regularization and the extended on-mass-shell renormalization scheme. In the delta resonance sector, the on mass-shell renormalization is realized as a complex-mass scheme. By fitting the low-energy constants of the effective Lagrangian to the $S$- and $P$-partial waves a satisfactory des…
We generalize the usual octet, decuplet and exotic antidecuplet and higher baryon multiplets to any number of colours Nc. We show that the multiplets fall into a sequence of bands with O(1/Nc) splittings inside the band and O(1)splittings between the bands characterized by "exoticness", that is the number of extra quark-antiquark pairs needed to compose the multiplet. Each time one adds a pair the baryon mass is increased by the same constant which can be interpreted as a mass of a quark-antiquark pair. At the same time, we prove that masses of exotic rotational multiplets are reliably determi…
In the present talk, we report recent results on electromagnetic properties of the baryon decuplet within the SU(3) chiral quark-soliton model, taking into account the effects of explicit flavor SU(3) symmetry breaking. We focus on the comparison of the present results on the electromagnetic form factors of the $Δ^{+}$ baryon with the lattice data.
The baryon vector current is computed at one-loop order in large-Nc baryon chiral perturbation theory, where Nc is the number of colors. Loop graphs with octet and decuplet intermediate states are systematically incorporated into the analysis and the effects of the decuplet-octet mass difference and SU(3) flavor symmetry breaking are accounted for. There are large-Nc cancellations between different one-loop graphs as a consequence of the large-Nc spin-flavor symmetry of QCD baryons. The results are compared against the available experimental data through several fits in order to extract inform…
We investigate the 35-plet baryons from the chiral soliton models. We find that the coupling constant for the decay of 35-plet baryons with spin 3/2 to the decuplet baryons is surprisingly small, but that for the decay to 27-plet baryons with spin 3/2 is larger. We give all the masses and widths of 35-plet baryons with spin 5/2 and suggest candidates for all nonexotic members from the available particle listings. We also focus on $Δ_{5/2}$ and $Θ_2$, which are the lightest two baryons of 35-plet with spin 5/2 and with simplest minimal pentaquark configurations. Calculations show that $Γ_{Δ_{5/…
Quantizing a soliton on a hypersphere, we obtain the first class Hamiltonian, and evaluate the baryon physical quantities which are in good agreement with the corresponding experimental data. In particular, we find that the predicted value for axial coupling constant is comparable to its experimental value. The prediction for delta baryon mass possessing the Weyl ordering correction obtained in the first class Dirac quantization is improved comparing with that in the second class canonical quantization performed on the hypersphere. Making use of the same input parameters associated with the ba…
The SU(2) Skyrme model is reviewed. The model, which considers hadron as soliton (Skyrmion), is used for investigating the nucleon mass and delta mass. Keywords: Skyrme model, soliton, hadron, nucleon mass, delta mass.
We obtain relations between partial-wave amplitudes for pi-N-->pi-N and pi-N-->pi-Delta directly from large N_c QCD. While linear relations among certain amplitudes holding at leading order (LO) in 1/N_c were derived in the context of chiral soliton models two decades ago, the present work employs a fully model-independent framework based on consistency with the large N_c expansion. At LO we reproduce the soliton model results; however, this method allows for systematic corrections. At next-to-leading order (NLO), most relations require additional unknown functions beyond those appearing at le…
Within the collective quantization scheme for chiral solitons we discuss states in higher dimensional representations of flavor SU(3) and their relation to radially excited states in the octet. We also consider states which do not have counterparts of the same quantum numbers in the octet or decuplet and cannot be built from three quarks. We focus on the Z^+ penta-quark, presumably the lightest such state, by estimating its mass and decay width.
We report on the result of some investigations concerning the radiative decays of decuplet baryons and the non-leptonic weak decays of the octet baryons in the context of topological chiral soliton models. Our results are compared with those of alternative baryon models. For the radiative decays we find that the predictions are similar to those of quark models. In the case of the non-leptonic weak decays, we find that although the predicted S-wave amplitudes are in rather good agreement with the observed values, the model is not able to reproduce the empirical P-wave amplitudes. Thus, in contr…
We calculate light-front wave functions of mesons, baryons and pentaquarks in a model including constituent mass (representing chiral symmetry breaking), harmonic confining potential, and 4-quark local interaction of 't Hooft type. The model is a simplified version of that used by Jia and Vary. The method used is numerical diagonalization of the Hamiltonian matrix, with certain functional basis. We found that the nucleon wave function displays strong diquar correlations, unlike that for Delta (decuplet) baryon. We also calculate 3-quark-5-quark admixture to baryons, and the resulting antiquark…
The chirally-odd twist-3 parton distribution function e(x) of the nucleon is studied in the large-Nc limit in the framework of the chiral quark-soliton model. It is demonstrated that in spite of properties not shared by other distribution functions, namely the appearance of a delta(x)-singularity and quadratic divergences in e(x), an equally reliable calculation is possible. Among the most remarkable results obtained in this work is the fact that the coefficient of the delta(x)-singularity can be computed exactly in this model, avoiding involved numerics. Our results complete existing studies …
We use a consistent SU(6) extension of the meson-baryon chiral Lagrangian within a coupled channel unitary approach in order to calculate the T-matrix for meson-baryon scattering in s-wave. The building blocks of the scheme are the pion and nucleon octets, the rho nonet and the Delta decuplet. We identify poles in this unitary T-matrix and interpret them as resonances. We study here the non exotic sectors with strangeness S=0,-1,-2,-3 and spin J=1/2, 3/2 and 5/2. Many of the poles generated can be associated with known N, Delta, Sigma, Lambda and Xi resonances with negative parity. We show tha…
We investigate the strong and radiative decay widths of the narrow nucleon resonances $N^*(1685)$ and $N^{\ast}(1726)$ within the framework of the SU(3) chiral quark-soliton model. All the relevant parameters are taken from those used to describe the properties of the baryon octet and decuplet in previous works. The masses of the antidecuplet nucleon and the eikosiheptaplet (27-plet) nucleon with spin 3/2 are determined respectively to be $(1690.2\pm 10.5)\, \mathrm{MeV}$ and $(1719.6\pm7.4)\,\mathrm{MeV}$. The decay width for $N^{\ast}(1685)\to η+ N$ is found to be approximately three times l…
We evaluate the amplitude of Bethe-Heitler process: γ^* p -> γΔ^+ -electron bremsstrahlung of photon accompanied by the excitation of Δ$ isobar. We show that this background is suppressed at small momentum transfer squared t to a proton relative to that for γ^* p -> γp and γ^* p\to -> Δ^+ - DVCS processes. From experimental point of view, this means that N -> N and N -> Δskewed quark distributions (SQD's) might be measurable at small momentum transfer. Several implications and applications of the QCD factorization theorem for the processes γ_{L}^* + p -> h_f +h_s are discussed where h_f - the …
We present in this talk a recent analysis for the magnetic moments of the baryon antidecuplet within the framework of the chiral quark-soliton model with linear $m_s$ corrections considered. We take into account the mixing of higher representations to the collective magnetic moment operator, which comes from the SU(3) symmetry breaking. Dynamical parameters of the model are fixed by experimental data for the magnetic moments of the baryon octet as well as by the masses of the octet, decuplet and of $Θ^{+}$. The magnetic moment of $Θ^{+}$ is rather sensitive to the pion-nucleon sigma term and r…
