Electroproduction of electron-positron pair in oriented crystal at high energy

The process of electroproduction of the electron-positron pair by high energy electron in an oriented single crystal is investigated. Two contributions are considered: the direct (one-step) process via the virtual intermediate photon and the cascade(two-step) process when the electron emits the real photon moving in the field of axis and afterwards the photon converts into the pair. The spectrum of created positron(electron) is found. It is shown that the probability of the process is strongly enhanced comparing with the corresponding amorphous medium.

Electroproduction of electron-positron pair in a medium

The process of electron-positron pair creation by a high-energy electron in a medium is analyzed. The spectral distribution over energies of created particles is calculated for the direct and cascade mechanisms of the process. The Coulomb corrections are included. The new formulation of the equivalent photons method is developed which takes into account the influence of multiple scattering. It is shown the effects of multiple scattering can be quite effectively studied in the process under consideration.

Production of relativistic positronium in collisions of photons and electrons with nuclei and atoms

We consider the production of ultrarelativistic positronium (Ps) in $γA \to Ps + A$ and $e A \to Ps + e A$ processes where $A$ is an atom or a nucleus with charge $Ze$. For the photoproduction of para- and ortho-Ps and the electroproduction of para-Ps we obtain the most complete description compared with previous works. Effects of polarization in electromagnetic processes in oriented crystals at high energy

Under quite generic assumptions the general expression is derived for the probability of circularly polarized photon emission from the longitudinally polarized electron and for the probability of pair creation of longitudinally polarized electron (positron) by circularly polarized photon in oriented crystal in a frame of the quasiclassical operator method. Electron-Positron Pair Production by an Electron in a Magnetic Field Near the Process Threshold

The electron-positron pair production by an electron in a strong magnetic field near the process threshold is considered. The process is shown to be more probable if the spin of the initial electron is oriented along the field. In this case, the probability of the process is $\sim10^{13} s^{-1}$ when the magnetic field strength is $H=4\cdot 10^{12}$ G.

Resonant Generation of an Electron-Positron Pair by Two Photons to Excited Landau Levels

We consider the resonant generation of an electron-positron pair by two polarized photons to arbitrarily low Landau levels. The resonance occurs when the energy of one photon exceeds the one-photon generation threshold, and the energy of the other photon is multiple to the spacing between the levels. The cross section of the process is determined taking into account the spins of particles. The order of magnitude of the cross section is the highest when the magnetic moments of the particles are oriented along the magnetic field.

Spectra of radiation and created particles at intermediate energy in oriented crystal taking into account energy loss

On propagation of high-energy photon in a medium in presence of an external field

The polarization tensor is calculated which originates from interaction of a photon with the electron-positron field. The effects of multiple scattering of electrons and positrons in a medium side by side with an external field are included. The corresponding general representation of polarization tensor is found in the form of two-dimentional integral. The both effects may be essential for propagation of high-energy photons in oriented single crystals.

SHERPA 1.alpha, a proof-of-concept version

The new multipurpose event-generation framework SHERPA, acronym for Simulation for High-Energy Reactions of PArticles, is presented. It is entirely written in the object-oriented programming language C++. In its current form, it is able to completely simulate electron--positron and unresolved photon--photon collisions at high energies. Also, fully hadronic collisions, such as, e.g., proton--anti-proton, proton--proton, or resolved photon--photon reactions, can be described on the signal level.

Spin density matrix elements in exclusive $ω$ electroproduction on $^1$H and $^2$H targets at 27.5 GeV beam energy

Exclusive electroproduction of $ω$ mesons on unpolarized hydrogen and deuterium targets is studied in the kinematic region of Q$^2$>1.0 GeV$^2$, 3.0 GeV < W < 6.3 GeV, and -t'< 0.2 GeV$^2$.
