In this paper, we calculate properties of the spin polarized asymmetrical nuclear matter and neutron star matter, using the lowest order constrained variational (LOCV) method with the $AV_{18}$, $Reid93$, $UV_{14}$ and $AV_{14}$ potentials. According to our results, the spontaneous phase transition to a ferromagnetic state in the asymmetrical nuclear matter as well as neutron star matter do not occur.
The expression for polarized electric dipole moment of well-deformed reflection asymmetric nuclei is obtained in the framework of liquid-drop model in the case of geometrically similar proton and neutron surfaces. The expression for polarized electric dipole moment consists of the first and second orders terms. It is shown that the second-order correction terms of the polarized electric dipole moment are important for well-deformed nuclei.
In this paper, the lowest order constrained variational (LOCV) method has been used to investigate the magnetic properties of spin polarized neutron matter in the presence of strong magnetic field at zero temperature employing $AV_{18}$ potential. Our results indicate that a ferromagnetic phase transition is induced by a strong magnetic field with strength greater than $10^{18}\ G$, leading to a partial spin polarization of the neutron matter. It is also shown that the equation of state of neutron matter in the presence of magnetic field is stiffer than the case in absence of magnetic field.
We analyze the spinodal instabilities of spin polarized asymmetric nuclear matter at zero temperature for several configurations of the neutron and proton spins. The calculations are performed with the Brueckner--Hartree--Fock (BHF) approach using the Argonne V18 nucleon-nucleon potential plus a three-nucleon force of Urbana type. An analytical parametrization of the energy density, which reproduces with good accuracy the BHF results, is employed to determine the spinodal instability region. We find that, independently of the of the orientation of the neutron and proton spins, the spinodal ins…
Spin-polarized isospin asymmetric nuclear matter is studied within the Dirac-Brueckner-Hartree-Fock approach. After a brief review of the formalism, we present and discuss the self-consistent single-particle potentials at various levels of spin and isospin asymmetry. We then move to predictions of the energy per particle, also under different conditions of isospin and spin polarization. Comparison with the energy per particle in isospin symmetric or asymmetric unpolarized nuclear matter shows no evidence for a phase transition to a spin ordered state, neither ferromagnetic nor antiferromagneti…
We have studied the spin polarized hot neutron matter in the presence of strong magnetic field. In this work, using the lowest order constrained variational method at finite temperature and employing $AV_{18}$ nuclear potential, some thermodynamic properties of spin polarized neutron matter such as spin polarization parameter, free energy, equation of state and effective mass have been calculated. It has been shown that the strong magnetic field breaks the symmetry of the free energy, leading to a magnetized equilibrium state. We have found that the equation of state becomes stiffer by increas…
In this paper the structure properties of asymmetrical nuclear matter has been calculated employing AV18 potential for different values of proton to neutron ratio. These calculations have been also made for the case of symmetrical nuclear matter with UV14, AV14 and AV18 potentials. In our calculations, we use the lowest order constrained variational (LOCV) method to compute the correlation function of the system.
In this paper, we investigate the liquid gas phase transition for the spin polarized nuclear matter. Applying the lowest order constrained variational (LOCV) method, and using two microscopic potentials, $AV_{18}$ and $UV_{14}$+TNI, we calculate the free energy, equation of state, order parameter, entropy, heat capacity and compressibility to derive the critical properties of spin polarized nuclear matter. Our results indicate that for the spin polarized nuclear matter, the second order phase transition takes place at lower temperatures with respect to the unpolarized one. It is also shown tha…
