Local and global well-posedness results are established for the initial value problem associated to the 1D Zakharov-Rubenchik system. We show that our results are sharp in some situations by proving Ill-posedness results otherwise. The global results allow us to study the norm growth of solutions corresponding to the Schrodinger equation term. We use ideas recently introduced to study the classical Zakharov systems.
We address various issues concerning the Cauchy problem for the Zakharov-Rubenchik system (known as the Benney-Roskes system in water waves theory), which models the interaction of short and long waves in many physical situations. Motivated by the transverse stability/instability of the one-dimensional solitary wave (line solitary), we study the Cauchy problem in the background of a line solitary wave.
We study decay properties for solutions to the initial value problem associated with the one-dimensional Zakharov-Rubenchik/Benney-Roskes system. We prove time-integrability in growing compact intervals of size $t^{r}$, $r<2/3$, centered on some characteristic curves coming from the underlying transport equations associated with the ZR/BR system. Additionally, we prove decay to zero of the local energy-norm in so-called far-field regions. Our results are independent of the size of the initial data and do not require any parity condition.

An initial-boundary value problem in a strip with homogeneous Diriclet boundary conditions for two-dimensional generalized Zakharov-Kuznetsov equation is considered. In particular, dissipative and absorbing degenerate terms can be supplemented to the original Zakharov-Kuznetsov equation. Results on global existence, uniqueness and long-time decay of weak silutions are established.
We show the global well-posedness for the two-dimensional Zakharov-Kuznetsov equation in $H^{s}({\mathbb{R}^2})$ when $\frac{11}{13}<s<1$ via the I-method. Additionally, local well-posedness for the symmetrized ZK equation in $ B^\frac{1}{2}_{2,1}(\mathbb{R}^2)$ is established by using atomic spaces.
Initial-boundary value problems on a half-strip with different types of boundary conditions for the generalized Kawahara-Zakharov-Kuznetsov equation with nonlinearity of higher order are considered. In particular, nonlinearity can be quadratic and cubic. Results on global existence and uniqueness in classes of weak and strong solutions and large-time decay of small solutions are established. The solutions are considered in weighted at infinity Sobolev spaces. The use of weighted spaces is crucial for the study. To this end new interpolating inequalities in weighted anisotropic Sobolev spaces a…
This paper is concerned with the Cauchy problem of $2$D Klein-Gordon-Zakharov system with very low regularity initial data. We prove the bilinear estimates which are crucial to get the local in time well-posedness. The estimates are established by the Fourier restriction norm method. We utilize the bilinear Strichartz estimates and the nonlinear version of the classical Loomis-Whitney inequality which was applied to Zakharov system.
Initial-boundary value problems in a bounded rectangle with different types of boundary conditions for two-dimensional Zakharov-Kuznetsov equation are considered. Results on global well-posedness in the classes of weak and regular solution are established. As applications of the developed technique results on boundary controllability and long-time decay of weak solutions are also obtained.
Spatial regularity properties of certain global-in-time solutions of the Zakharov system are established. In particular, the evolving solution $u(t)$ is shown to satisfy an estimate $\Hsup s {u(t)} \leq C {{|t|}^{(s-1)+}}$, where $H^s$ is the standard spatial Sobolev norm. The proof is an adaptation of earlier work on the nonlinear Schrödinger equation which reduces matters to bilinear estimates.
Initial-boundary value problems for the linear Zakharov-Kuznetsov equation posed on bounded rectangles are considered. Spectral properties of a stationary operator are studied in order to show that the evolution problem posed on a bounded rectangle has no critical restrictions on its size. Exponential decay of regular solutions is established.
The initial value problem for two-dimensional Zakharov-Kuznetsov equation is shown to be globally well-posed in $H^s({\mathbb{R}^2})$ for all $\frac{5}{7}<s<1$ via using $I$-method in the context of atomic spaces. By means of the increment of modified energy, the exsitence of global attractor for weakly damped, forced Zakharov-Kuznetsov equation is also established in $H^s({\mathbb{R}^2})$ for $\frac{10}{11}<s<1$.
An initial-boundary value problem for the n-dimensional ($n$ is a natural number from the interval [2,7]) Kuramoto-Sivashinsky-Zakharov-Kuznetsov equation posed on smooth bounded domains in $\mathbb{R}^n$ was considered. The existence and uniqueness of global regular solutions as well as their exponential decay have been established. A connection between an order of the stationary part of the equation and admissible dimensions of a domain has been revealed. Keywords: Kuramoto-Sivashinsky equation, Zakharov-Kuznetsov equation, Global solutions
Initial-boundary value problems in a half-strip with different types of boundary conditions for two-dimensional Zakharov-Kuznetsov equation are considered. Results on global well-posedness in classes of regular solutions in the cases of periodic and Neumann boundary conditions, as well as on internal regularity of solutions for all types of boundary conditions are established. Also in the case of Dirichlet boundary conditions one result on long-time decay of regular solutions is obtained.
We consider the generalized two-dimensional Zakharov-Kuznetsov equation $u_t+\partial_x Δu+\partial_x(u^{k+1})=0$, where $k\geq3$ is an integer number. For $k\geq8$ we prove local well-posedness in the $L^2$-based Sobolev spaces $H^s(\mathbb{R}^2)$, where $s$ is greater than the critical scaling index $s_k=1-2/k$. For $k\geq 3$ we also establish a sharp criteria to obtain global $H^1(\R^2)$ solutions. A nonlinear scattering result in $H^1(\R^2)$ is also established assuming the initial data is small and belongs to a suitable Lebesgue space.

An initial-boundary value problem for the generalized 2D Zakharov-Kuznetsov equation posed on the right half-strip is considered. Existence, uniqueness and the exponential decay rate of global regular solutions for small initial data are established.
We consider an initial boundary value problem for a quantum version of the Zakharov system arising in plasma physics. We prove the global well-posedness of this problem in some Sobolev type classes and study properties of solutions. This result confirms the conclusion recently made in physical literature concerning the absence of collapse in the quantum Langmuir waves. In the dissipative case the existence of a finite dimensional global attractor is established and regularity properties of this attractor are studied. For this we use the recently developed method of quasi-stability estimates. I…
We consider a model that describes electromigration in nanoconductors known as surface electromigration (SEM) equation. Our purpose here is to establish local well-posedness for the associated initial value problem in Sobolev spaces from two different points of view. In the first one, we study the pure Cauchy problem and establish local well-posedness in $H^s(\mathbb{R}^2)$, $s>1/2$. In the second one, we study the Cauchy problem on the background of a Korteweg-de Vries solitary traveling wave in a less regular space. To obtain our results we make use of the smoothing properties of solutions f…
In this paper we established the global well-posedness theorem for a special type of wave-Klein-Gordon system that have the strong coupling terms in divergence form on the right hand side of its wave equation. We cope with the problem by constructing an auxiliary system with the shifted primitives of the original unknowns. The result is then applied directly on Klein-Gordon-Zakharov system in 2+1 space-time with general small-localized-regular initial data. In the end of this paper, we also give a preliminary answer to the question of global stability of a class of totally geodesic the wave ma…
