Algorithms for Representation Theory of Real Reductive Groups

We give an algorithm for computing the irreducible admissible representations of a real reductive group with regular integral infinitesimal character. This algorithm has been implemented on a computer, as part of the Atlas of Lie Groups and Representations project.

Associated varieties for real reductive groups

We give an algorithm to compute the associated variety of a Harish- Chandra module for a real reductive group $G({\mathbb R})$. The algorithm is implemented in the atlas software package.

A Birkhoff-Bruhat Atlas for partial flag varieties

A partial flag variety ${\mathcal {P}}_K$ of a Kac-Moody group $G$ has a natural stratification into projected Richardson varieties. When $G$ is a connected reductive group, a Bruhat atlas for ${\mathcal {P}}_K$ was constructed by He, Knutson and Lu: ${\mathcal {P}}_K$ is locally modeled with Schubert varieties in some Kac-Moody flag variety as stratified spaces. Computing twisted KLV polynomials

In order to compute Hermitian forms on representations of real reductive groups, in the unequal rank case, it is necessary to compute twisted Kazhdan-Lusztig-Vogan polynomials. These were defined by Lusztig and Vogan (Quasisplit Hecke algebras and Symmetric Spaces, Duke, 2014) and discussed further by Adams and Vogan (Parameters for twisted representations, 2015). These notes contain the details necessary to go from what is in those papers to an explicit algorithm. This algorithm has been implemented in the Atlas of Lie Groups and Representations software.

Unipotent Ideals for Spin and Exceptional Groups

In the monograph arXiv:2108.03453, we define the notion of a unipotent representation of a complex reductive group. The representations we define include, as a proper subset, all special unipotent representations in the sense of Barbasch-Vogan and form the (conjectural) building blocks of the unitary dual. In arXiv:2108.03453 we provide combinatorial formulas for the infinitesimal characters of all unipotent representations of linear classical groups. Parameters for Twisted Representations

The study of Hermitian forms on a real reductive group $G$ gives rise, in the unequal rank case, to a new class of Kazhdan-Lusztig-Vogan polynomials. These are associated with an outer automorphism $δ$ of $G$, and are related to representations of the extended group $<G,δ>$. These polynomials were defined geometrically by Lusztig and Vogan in "Quasisplit Hecke Algebras and Symmetric Spaces", Duke Math. J. 163 (2014), 983--1034.
