We construct here the parametric representation of a translation-invariant renormalizable scalar model on the noncommutative Moyal space of even dimension $D$. This representation of the Feynman amplitudes is based on some integral form of the noncommutative propagator. All types of graphs (planar and non-planar) are analyzed. The rôle played by noncommutativity is explicitly shown. This parametric representation established allows to calculate the power counting of the model. Furthermore, the space dimension $D$ is just a parameter in the formulas obtained. This paves the road for the dimensional regularization of this noncommutative model.
Renormalizable $ϕ^{\star 4}_4$ models on Moyal space have been obtained by modifying the commutative propagator. But these models have a divergent "naive" commutative limit. We explain here how to obtain a coherent such commutative limit for a recently proposed translation-invariant model. The mechanism relies on the analysis of the uv/ir mixing in general Feynman graphs.
We construct a deformed Wess-Zumino model on the noncommutative superspace where the Bosonic and Fermionic coordinates are no longer commutative with each other. Using the background field method, we calculate the primary one-loop effective action based on the deformed action. By comparing the two actions, we find that the deformed Wess-Zumino model is not renormalizable. To obtain a renormalizable model, we combine the primary one-loop effective action with the deformed action, and then calculate the secondary one-loop effective action based on the combined action. After repeating this proces…
Recently, a new type of renormalizable $ϕ^{\star 4}_{4}$ scalar model on the Moyal space was proved to be perturbatively renormalizable. It is translation-invariant and introduces in the action a $a/(θ^2p^2)$ term. We calculate here the $β$ and $γ$ functions at one-loop level for this model. The coupling constant $β_λ$ function is proved to have the same behaviour as the one of the $ϕ^4$ model on the commutative $\mathbb{R}^4$. The $β_a$ function of the new parameter $a$ is also calculated. Some interpretation of these results are done.
We complete our previous recent review on noncommutative field theory, discussing in particular the constructive aproach to the Grosse-Wulkenhaar theory. We also suggest that by gluing together many Grosse-Wulkenhaar theories at high energy one can obtain an effective commutative field theory at lower energy.
We generalize the ordinary Wess-Zumino model to the Bosonic-Fermionic noncommutative (BFNC) superspace and study its renormalization. In our previous work that can be regarded as the key foundation of the present paper, we have proved that the BFNC Wess-Zumino model with the real mass and interacting constant is one-loop renormalizable up to the second order of BFNC parameters. Based on the result obtained, in the present paper we modify the one-loop renormalizable BFNC Wess-Zumino model by generalizing the mass and interacting constant to complex numbers, introduce the U(1)_{R} R-symmetry and…
We make here a short overview of the recent developments regarding translation-invariant models on the noncommutative Moyal space. A scalar model was first proposed and proved renormalizable. Its one-loop renormalization group flow and parametric representation were calculated. Furthermore, a mechanism to take its commutative limit was recently given. Finally, a proposition for a renormalizable, translation-invariant gauge model was made.
We extend the parametric representation of renormalizable non commutative quantum field theories to a class of theories which we call "critical", because their power counting is definitely more difficult to obtain. This class of theories is important since it includes gauge theories, which should be relevant for the quantum Hall effect.
The harmonic term in the scalar field theory on the Moyal space removes the UV-IR mixing, so that the theory is renormalizable to all orders. In this paper, we review the three principal interpretations of this harmonic term: the Langmann-Szabo duality, the superalgebraic approach and the noncommutative scalar curvature interpretation. Then, we show some deep relationship between these interpretations.
In this paper we investigate the Schwinger parametric representation for the Feynman amplitudes of the recently discovered renormalizable $ϕ^4_4$ quantum field theory on the Moyal non commutative ${\mathbb R^4}$ space. This representation involves new {\it hyperbolic} polynomials which are the non-commutative analogs of the usual "Kirchoff" or "Symanzik" polynomials of commutative field theory, but contain richer topological information.
We review the construction of renormalizable noncommutative euclidean phi(4)-theories based on the UV/IR duality covariant modification of the standard field theory, and how the formalism can be extended to scalar field theories defined on noncommutative Minkowski space.
We review here the construction of a translation-invariant scalar model which was proved to be perturbatively renormalizable on Moyal space. Some general considerations on nonlocal renormalizability are given. Finally, we present perspectives for generalizing these quantum field theoretical techniques to group field theory, a new setting for quantum gravity.
The noncommutative selfdual ϕ^3 model in 6 dimensions is quantized and essentially solved, by mapping it to the Kontsevich model. The model is shown to be renormalizable and asymptotically free, and solvable genus by genus. It requires both wavefunction and coupling constant renormalization. The exact (all-order) renormalization of the bare parameters is determined explicitly, which turns out to depend on the genus 0 sector only. The running coupling constant is also computed exactly, which decreases more rapidly than predicted by the one-loop beta function. A phase transition to an unstable p…
We study the quantization of the noncommutative selfdual ϕ^3 model in 4 dimensions, by mapping it to a Kontsevich model. The model is shown to be renormalizable, provided one additional counterterm is included compared to the 2-dimensional case which can be interpreted as divergent shift of the field ϕ. The known results for the Kontsevich model allow to obtain the genus expansion of the free energy and of any n-point function, which is finite for each genus after renormalization. No coupling constant or wavefunction renormalization is required. A critical coupling is determined, beyond which …
We consider here the Feynman amplitudes of renormalizable non-commutative quantum field theory models. Different representations (the parametric and the Mellin one) are presented. The latter further allows the proof of meromorphy of a amplitude in the space-time dimension.
We compute here the Yang-Mills effective action on Moyal space by integrating over the scalar fields in a noncommutative scalar field theory with harmonic term, minimally coupled to an external gauge potential. We also explain the special regularisation scheme chosen here and give some links to the Schwinger parametric representation. Finally, we discuss the results obtained: a noncommutative possibly renormalisable Yang-Mills theory.
We give a parametric representation of the effective noncommutative field theory derived from a $κ$-deformation of the Ponzano-Regge model and define a generalized Kirchhoff polynomial with $κ$-correction terms, obtained in a $κ$-linear approximation. We then consider the corresponding graph hypersurfaces and the question of how the presence of the correction term affects their motivic nature. We look in particular at the tetrahedron graph, which is the basic case of relevance to quantum gravity. With the help of computer calculations, we verify that the number of points over finite fields of …
We study a multi-parametric family of quadratic algebras in four generators, which includes coordinate algebras of noncommutative four-planes and, as quotient algebras, noncommutative three spheres. Particular subfamilies comprise Sklyanin algebras and Connes--Dubois-Violette planes. We determine quantum groups of symmetries for the general algebras and construct finite-dimensional covariant differential calculi.
Wigner's famous 1939 classification of positive energy representations, combined with the more recent modular localization principle, has led to a significant conceptual and computational extension of renormalized perturbation theory to interactions involving fields of higher spin s>1/2. The starting observation was that the well-known clash between point-localized gauge theories and the Hilbert space, which hitherto has been solved by using a Krein space setting, can also be solved by preserving the Hilbert space setting; in this case the theory selects the tightest covariant localization whi…
Non-linear electrodynamics arising in the frames of field theories in non-commutative space-time is examined on the base of the Riemann-Silberstein-Majorana-Oppenheimer formalism. The problem of form-invariance of the non-linear constitutive relations governed by six non-commutative parameters θ_{kl} \sim {\bf K} = {\bf n} + i {\bf m} is explored in detail on the base of the complex orthogonal group theory SO(3.C). Two Abelian 2-parametric small groups, isomorphic to each other in abstract sense, and leaving unchangeable the extended constitutive relations at arbitrary six parameters θ_{kl} of…
