Recent experimental results on $B\toρρ$ decays indicate that the CP asymmetry $S_{ρ^+ρ^-}$ will give an interesting determination of $α=\arg[-(V_{td}V_{tb}^*)/(V_{ud}V_{ub}^*)]$. In the limit when the $ρ$ width is neglected, the $B\toππ$ isospin analysis can also be applied to $B\toρρ$, once an angular analysis is used to separate transversity modes. The present bound on the shift of $S_{ρ^+ρ^-}$ from the true $\sin2α$ is already stronger than it is for $S_{π^+π^-}$. Extracting V_{ub} Using the Radiative Decay Data

In this talk I review recent progress made in extracting V_{ub} from the cut electron energy and hadronic mass spectra of inclusive B meson decays utilizing the data from radiative decays. It is shown that an extraction is possible without modeling the B meson structure function. I discuss the issues involving the assumptions of local duality in various extractions. I also comment on the recent CLEO extraction of V_{ub}.

Memo on Extracting |V(cb)| and |V(ub)/V(cb)| from semileptonic B decays

Heavy Quark Expansions for semileptonic decays of beauty hadrons are briefly reviewed. I analyze how $|V(cb)|$ can be extracted from the semileptonic width of $B$ mesons, the average semileptonic width of all weakly decaying beauty hadrons and from $B \ra l νD^*$ at zero recoil. Special attention is paid to present theoretical uncertainties (including correlations among them) and on how to reduce them in the future. Finally I will comment on theoretical uncertainties in $|V(ub)/V(cb)|$.

Extraction of proton form factors in the timelike region from single-polarized e+ e- -> \vec p anti-p events

We have performed numerical simulations of the single-polarized e+ e- --> \vec p anti p process in kinematic conditions under discussion for a possible upgrade of the existing DAFNE facility. By fitting the cross section and spin asymmetry angular distributions with typical Born expressions, we can study the conditions for extracting information on moduli and phases of the proton electromagnetic form factors in the timelike region, which are poorly known and whose preliminary data show puzzling features. Comments on $\left|\frac{V_{ub}}{V_{cb}}\right|$ and $|V_{ub}|$ from Non-leptonic $B$ Decays within the Perturbative QCD Approach

We revisited the extracting $\left|V_{ub}/V_{cb}\right|$ and $|V_{ub}|$ through calculating the ratios ${\cal B}(B^0\to D_s^{(*)+}(π^-,ρ^-)/ {\cal B}(B^0\to D_s^{(*)+} D^{(*)-})$ in the perturbative QCD approach, which is regarded as an effective theory in dealing with non-leptonic charmed $B$ decays. Utilizing this approach, we could calculate the form factors effectively as well as non-factorizable and annihilation contributions. Within the updated distribution amplitudes and the latest experimental data, we get $\left|{V_{ub}}/{V_{cb}}\right|=0.083\pm0.007$, which favors a bit smaller $|V_{…
