Complete State Reconstruction of a Two-Mode Gaussian State via Local Operations and Classical Communication

We propose a strictly local quantum tomography protocol for a bipartite system. We show that the joint density matrix of an arbitrary two-mode Gaussian state, entangled or not, is obtained via local operations and classical communication only. In contrast to previous proposals, simultaneous homodyne measurements (HM) on both modes are replaced by local homodyne detections and a set of local projective measurements.

Non-Gaussian states and operations are crucial for various continuous-variable quantum information processing tasks. To quantitatively understand non-Gaussianity beyond states, we establish a resource theory for non-Gaussian operations. Operational Discord Measure for Gaussian States with Gaussian Measurements

We introduce an operational discord-type measure for quantifying nonclassical correlations in bipartite Gaussian states based on using Gaussian measurements. We refer to this measure as operational Gaussian discord (OGD). It is defined as the difference between the entropies of two conditional probability distributions associated to one subsystem, which are obtained by performing optimal local and joint Gaussian measurements. Key distillation from Gaussian states by Gaussian operations

We study the secrecy properties of Gaussian states under Gaussian operations. Although such operations are useless for quantum distillation, we prove that it is possible to distill a secret key secure against any attack from sufficiently entangled Gaussian states with non-positive partial transposition. Moreover, all such states allow for key distillation, when Eve is assumed to perform finite-size coherent attacks before the reconciliation process.

Gaussian local unitary equivalence of $n$-mode Gaussian states and Gaussian transformations by local operations with classical communication

We derive necessary and sufficient conditions for arbitrary multi--mode (pure or mixed) Gaussian states to be equivalent under Gaussian local unitary operations. Trispectrum reconstruction of non-Gaussian noise

Using a qubit to probe non-Gaussian noise environments is theoretically studied in the context of classical random telegraph processes. Reconstruction of Gaussian Quantum States from Ideal Position Measurements: Beyond Pauli's Problem, I

We show that the covariance matrix of a quantum state can be reconstructed from position measurements using the simple notion of polar duality, familiar from convex geometry. In particular, all multidimensional Gaussian states (pure or mixed) can in principle be reconstructed if the quantum system is well localized in configuration space. The main observation which makes this possible is that the John ellipsoid of the Cartesian product of the position localization by its polar dual contains a quantum blob, and can therefore be identified with the covariance ellipsoid of a quantum state.
